I've had my 2003 minivan in for diagnosis and repair after two on-the-road breakdowns. Flanagan's did great work to diagnose problems and get it up and running. They're always clear about what it needs, what they're doing, and what I can do proactively to prevent (if possible) future problems. I trust their work quality and their business ethics. Highly recommend using them.

Time and time again, these men have saved my rear end. Whether you got a seized caliper or a truck in limp mode, they ll have it figured out in 30 minutes. Straight shooters on pricing and maintenance, probably the last of the honest mechanics out here. Thanks Charles, you and your team are the best!

Nicest people ever. My son goes to college in the area (we are from PA) and needed service for one of those mystery sounds. They took great care, diagnosed, had the parts and fixed immediately. They even offered him a ride so he wouldn't miss classes. I was totally impressed with their business! Highly recommend!

Flanagan's is the absolute BEST !! We were traveling in a rental car and our tire indicator light noted low pressure. Not only did they fill the problem tire, they checked all the tires.

Charles and his crew have been super helpful and knowledgeable when it came to repairing my vehicle. Learned my lesson by finally giving in and getting a second opinion from another mechanic. I was told from my usual (who is also pretty much family) that the repair on my vehicle required a whole intake manifold replacement. While Flanagans was able to replace the only faulty part on the intake manifold. Saving me well over $600. I m glad I trusted my gut and gave Flanagan s a try. They have been so easy to talk and work with on getting my repairs done. I m glad to find somewhere reliable in our small community. Pat did a great job fixing my A/C. No drama, no fuss, and it came with humble, honest advice. Truth telling. How rare these days. Everything is a spin on truth or an outright lie. He ALSO recommended I take my transmission to Zionville Transmission when he couldn't hear the sound I was hearing. I SHOULD have listened.

Said it would take them 1 week to look at my car tire with a nail. I was on vacation and needing assistance snd they did not Care! Stay away from them. I did take it ti Banner Elk Exxon and they repaired the tire instantly.

My child is a first year college student in Banner Elk, NC. Her auto needed a repair, but we are four hours away. Flanagans was extremely nice and helpful. We had a check engine light for a bad oxygen sensor. They even found my battery was going bad and got it replaced under manufacturer warranty. I didn't even know it had a dying battery that could have left my kid on the side of the road! I am so appreciative of this honest and thorough auto repair shop! Thank you!!! Money is tight with a kid in college, but they were up front about estimate and payment. Great local business!Service: Engine repair

I brought my 2000 Honda CR-V over to Flanagan's without any clue what was wrong with it. They got it fixed in 2 days and were very reasonably priced. So far, I'm quite satisfied with their service.

I just moved to the area a few months ago. My family has been taking our cars to the same mechanic (in Georgia) for over 20 years, so I was nervous to find a new mechanic in my new town of Banner Elk. I am so relieved that I chose to take my car here.Mr. Flanagan and his team are kind, skilled, and work hard for the customer. They have been able to fix a number of repairs on my aging vehicle in a timely manner.A good mechanic is popular, so it may take a day or two to be seen, but the wait is worth it.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

I would never go anywhere else. They took great care of my Jeep and even though it was old I never worried about it breaking down. Also, when I needed advice, Charles, the owner, priced parts/ labor out and I was able to decide what I could afford to do. With the hardest working group of men over there they are, without a doubt, the best auto repair shop around. They do care about their customers!

The guy worked us in on vacation when everyone else said it wld be weeks before they had an appt. We went dropped off car and walked around an hour enjoying downtown banner elk then went to pay for our brakes and it was about 25% cheaper than anyone else!! I've been using Flanagan's for years. Was traveling and had a nearly flat tire. They got my car in right away, put air in the tire, checked it thoroughly for any air leaks, then checked and put air in the remaining tires. I also had them complete my annual inspection while they had the car. When they were done, they charged me only the inspection fee. Friendly, helpful, accommodating, and affordable. I wish I could do all of my auto service with them!Service: Tires

We were visiting from Wisconsin & our car died & was towed to Flannigan's. They wouldn't even look at our car for 11 days! We had it towed to Teester's and had our car back on the road in 4 hours! Flannigan's was absolutely no help. They said all repair shops had waiting lists of ten days plus. They have no customer service skills or willingness to help.

Afraid to trust your mechanic? I have been going to Flanagans for several years. These guys are honest, trustworthy, and do the job right. They will go over all options for fixing your car; if there is a major repair due and there is a way to fix it cheaper or get you by by spending a little less for now, they will do that. No reason to stress! I will never take my vehicle anywhere else. Highly recommend.

My Daughter goes to school in Banner Elk. Its hard to help her when I am 800 miles away. Her car needed work, they diagnosed the issue, gave her a fair price and completed the work. It's so nice to know there are hard working honest people in all corners of the world. A huge shout out to Flanagan's! A grateful Dad

Very professional and dependable. Installed a new torque converter and flywheel in my 2000 Jeep Cherokee without any issues. Did the work correctly and didn't have any back and forth on pricing.I will be going back as necessary.

Went into Flanagan s the first thing in the morning after overheating the night before on Beech Mountain. We are from Ocala, Florida and didn t know anyone in the area, but the folks at Best Western said nothing but great things about Charles and team. He had 11 cars to get through that day and promised he d get to ours before he left. We had a charity event to be at the next day and were worried we d be delayed, if we could go at all at that point. He assured us not to worry and was very patient with our check ins.We were expecting the worst. Warped heads, dead fan motor, or bad radiator. But when Charles called and told us to come in, we really got scared! When we walked in, he told us that the reason it happened was because the head gaskets were old and needed to be watched once we got home. There was no problem with the motors, the head was fine, and he wound up replacing the radiator cap (which was on its last leg) and put 2 gallons of coolant in the radiator. It cost us $68 and was the best money we ever spent! They checked everything with a fine tooth comb and said we d be safe to travel to Georgia for our event and back home to Ocala, but told us to watch the coolant levels and be prepared that the gaskets would need to be replaced.Flanagan s is honest, fair, and Charles is just amazing! I wish he was back home and the Beech Mountain area is lucky to have him... we d gladly use him anytime we could if he was in our town!Thank you for the amazing service and dispelling our worst fears!

Flanagan's has always done great work. I have not had any trouble with any of the minor or major repairs they have done for me. Their prices have always fair and you don't have to worry about being overcharged.

Professional work.m Charles has helped my family with lots of cars over the years. Ive seen them busy working on my brothers ride on a Sunday. Are kind not charging me storage if it takes a few days to pay. Make an appointnent ahead of time because place is busy and busy for a good reason. They do hard work dealerships would do but for a much fair price. Everytime my toyota leaves his shop i dont have to get it serviced for a long time. Everytime i take it to other shops i end up coming right back to a shop to spend more money. If your willing to do some work yourself, they may be kind enough to tell u what u can fix on your own to lower ur bill. But for the most part I would trust this shop over many others as far a professional work Honesty and reliability. You get what you pay for and i hope this business stays for a long time because it would be more stressful with out them.

Charles and his gang were utmost professional and straight shooters which is a rare trait in mechanics now a days. They literally saved my family's life by noticing a dangerous situation while my truck was in there for something else; truly full 5 star service and very knowledgeable.

The transmission went out on my 2005 Mercury Mariner, and I had the towing company tow it to Flanigan's. Flanigan's has not charge me for keeping the vehicle on site, and have been very helpful and giving me references four entities that might purchase the vehicle for a salvage value. I will always bring my newer car to Flanigan's for service work because they were friendly and helpful and not ruthless in dealing with me in my financial situation at the time.

These guys do decent work IF you can get in. They have some of the worst customer service I've experienced in the area. Notoriously short staffed, ridiculous wait times, and just plain rude.
