We stayed here for a few nights during the Thanksgiving holiday. The campsite is conveniently located for those who are interested in exploring Asheville. Yes, it is near the highway, which means there is noise - you are in the city. It was not a surprise to us that there would be some noise. The campground itself is clean, quiet and has cement pads which was a huge plus. We also enjoyed the easy and convenient access to the walking trail as we had our two dogs with us. We would definitely stay again!

They were getting a bit of a facelift with new concrete pads being poured - looks really nice. Thicker grass would be welcome because as soon as you step off the concrete pad, it's pretty muddy. It's a little strange having the Fr. Broad River running/walking/biking trail run right down the center of the campground - interrupting their exercise while you're backing in or pulling out was a little unnerving. Every campground we've found in Asheville is close quarters in terms of getting to the campground and inside the campground, so if you're not completely comfortable with navigating your camper in tight spaces, you might want to book in a neighboring town. We actually spent very little time at the campground, only sleeping there at night, but it truly was quiet. I could hear I-40 in the distance, but it didn't bother us at all - we slept good! I don't know if wifi or cable was available. We found no information about it but also weren't interested... just there for sleep.

I'm going to give it 5 stars because this is by far the nicest urban RV campground I've ever visited. Everything is online from reservations to check-in. Level concrete pads, plenty of maneuvering room inside the park. You're located in the Greenway -- the bike path goes right through the property -- and you can ride on bike paths to the Arts District. Great for pets, and glorious for kids because of the stuff in the park. Don't mark it down for the traffic noise or the sharp turn to get onto the property -- that's the price you pay for being in town. Safe neighborhood but there's lots of people around. It's urban. If you want to stay in the woods, there are plenty of gorgeous places within an hour. Want a quick overnighter, this isn't your place. Want to to spend a few days in this lovely town -- and bicycle everywhere while you're at it -- don't miss this place. Best way to do Asheville, by a wide margin.

We booked a site along the river. It had just poured the day before but the site was dry (unlike other reviews). Reservations and check in were simple. There is an RV repair shop on site, luckily we didn't need to use it. The dog park is 1.6 miles (not 1 mile like their info states), however, it's a beautiful walk along the river to the park. Very short uber ride to all the Ashville attractions and restaurants.

This campground is suitable for a one nighter. The interstate is about 50 yd from the campground so the truck and traffic noise is all night long. It's tough getting in & out of the campground entrance pulling your trailer. With our truck & 30' trailer we were not able to maneuver the turn to get back on the interstate, so we had to go through a residential area to get access back to the interstate. The roads were narrow, curvy & hilly.

Stayed three nights in a nice, shady site along the French Broad River. Clean bathhouse, friendly service, quiet campground. The great location right on the recreation trail allowed us to bike everywhere we wanted to go (note: Asheville is very bike friendly and also quite hilly). Know that sites that are not on the river don't get shade. Yes, you hear road noise because of the highway nearby, so know that when you go. However, with the fan on in the camper, we had no problems sleeping. We would definitely stay here again.

We tent camped here for our 2023 Labor Day weekend in Ashville. We had a great time - easy-peasy booking and camping. We did have to carry our gear from the parking area to the site...but only 100 ft. The rest rooms and showers are actually quite fantastic - new, clean, hot water, potable water and 110V power for charging. Quite civilized for "primitive camping" pricing. The campsite is right on the river...it's also between two busy roads. The traffic noise is quite loud late into the night, but honestly, with a couple of local IPA's in us, the noise blended into the background and we enjoyed our time around the campfire and slept well. Thank you Wilson's!

We stayed 2 nights at Wilsons. Right when we arrived our travel trailer needed repairs. I booked another 2 nights but was able to get my camper repaired the next day. I cancelled my extended 2 night stay but received no refund at all . Thank you Wilsons for your compassion in helping out a camper in need! Needless to say we will NEVER stay here again!

Simple, clean, river views, but no access from majority of sites. It's a quick, pretty trail walk to the boathouse and outdoor bar/hangout, and that's very cool. They do not have firewood available here!! But there are grill pits.It is very very loud, being on a 24/7 busy highway!! But the bathhouse is clean. Although, the men's room was locked at 0630 so a male camper had to use the ladies shower while we guarded the door.... but I'm sure that was the fluke of a careless camper.Go for it!

The campground is small site has a concrete slab and not a bad size. Our site was on the river side which was very nice. A road down the center separates the 2 rows of sites and doubles as a busy exercise trail through the campground.the site on the opposite side back up to I-240 and is very noisy, so no quiet outside. The $60 per night is way overpriced.Noteworthy details: Campground on the river which is nice, but I-40 runs next to the campground which is noisy outdoors but hardly hear inside. Has nice concrete slabs for your RV, a fire ring and picnic table.

Great location- the bike/walk path goes right through the middle. It only 10 minutes to the Arts District in Asheville. French Broad River boarders one side but a well traveled road boarders the other side. The restrains small but very clean.Nearby activities: Asheville arts district and a great number of restaurants.

Great location but definitely a departure from normal campgrounds. When we arrived, no one was about to check us in and no one stopped by to see if we were actually supposed to be there. The bathrooms were out of order the first day and once back up and running, the code given to us didn t work our entire stay. Fortunately, we have a bathroom in our camper but please be careful booking a stay here, if you don t. The only staff we saw was the guy who drove around and picked up the trash everyday. Sites are paved and level which is nice but there is a lot of noise from the highway. Overall, it s a good location for a short stay when you want to explore Asheville but there isn t much else to say about it.

We love this location and there are parks and jogging trails along the river. Perfect location to get downtown without traffic hassles. The Wilson's are great people to work with and they have a shop next door for all those little things that break.Rooms: Great RV pads with lots of amenities close byNearby activities: parks, river activities like tubing, canoeingSafety: never had an safety issue during my stays thereWalkability: great biking and walking paths all along the riverFood & drinks: There is an restaurant and bar with live music 3 or 4 nights a week. They also have tubing and other water activities on the river next doorNoteworthy details: Close to all types of activities, restaurants, parks, and on the river.

Of course you can hear the very nosy highway (it's pretty obvious when you look at the location, it's down the highway) but for one night or two, to visit Asheville, it's perfect for less than thirty dollars a night for a tent. Easy to book online (hard to find anyone there) and the hot showers are very convenient and very clean (may, we were the only tent campers there). Less than ten minutes from down town by car.

Wilson s is a great location for visiting Asheville. Bathhouse was brand new (May 2023), clean, and accessible. No issues with the code. Onsite camp host was available and friendly. We easily biked from the RV park into downtown. All sites were level and could see the river.

We camped here 3 nights in a travel trailer. The sites are all concrete pads, but we had to level the trailer. A path runs through the campground for walking and biking. We enjoyed the path and had no trouble with anyone. The French Broad River is visible from most sites. The restrooms were closed and seemed likely too be in a state of disrepair. We visited Chimney Rock from here and could have easily visited The Biltmore from here. There is no wifi at this campground.

We stayed about 2 weeks. Overall this is a nice campground. If you choose here it is most likely because you like the proximity to downtown, The Biltmore, the breweries, and the bikes trails. It is obvious not in a quiet forest. It's right off the interstate so the noise is really loud, we wore ear plugs to sleep. Also we had no issues with the people coming through on the bike trail (no one seemed shady),the trail is just weirdly located in the middle of the RV Park road and hard to navigate your vehicles/RVs as there are so many people biking and walking. It is pretty tight depending on your RV length and getting in/out is tricking. We drove off the interstate and into the parking lot of the business right there and there was plenty of space to you turn and safely drive back into the RV Park. But overall we would come back. It was just a three mile bike ride to New Belgium brewery and really centrally located to everything that we wanted to do in downtown asheville. It's right next to a big city park that has a dog park and plenty of green space for kids and you can fish in the river. The campground manager was very nice and worked with us changing our dates several times so kudos to the staff. The grounds are well kept and we only saw one permanent RV that was a little run down. Otherwise people are in and out all the time.

Enjoyed our stay! Price is very reasonable for full hookups. The manager at the park is great, pleasant and extremely helpful. We had a couple of minor issues that were promptly taken care of. Garbage is picked up in front of your site daily, just put it out before 11:00. It's a smaller RV park and we liked that about it. Nice view of the river from either the riverside or hillside sites. The traffic noise did not bother us. Great accessibility to the Biltmore Estate and if you're a motorcycle enthusiast be sure to visit Wheels Through Time about a 30 minute drive in Maggie Valley.

Wonderful campsite for tent campers. We were hesitant to reserve after reading several reviews about the noise from the highway, but it really was not bad and did not keep us from sleeping. We camped in July and the park was full of bunnies, fireflies, and blackberries! The bike / walking trail that runs through the site was nice and the passerbys were friendly. Clean bathrooms and a central, convenient location. We ll be back!

Went to tent. There was some trash at my tent site upon arrival. Highway nearby is very active, very loud. There s a public trail that cuts through the RV park. Not much privacy for tent campers from random passerbys. The bathroom is not spacious & it does not have air conditioning. On a positive note, location is great since it s closer to downtown Asheville. Easy access to the trail for a nice stroll. Available access to river.

Wonderful stay here! The host was incredibly kind and the only time someone sketchy tried to take up residence at the campground, the problem was taken care of immediately. I felt safe and enjoyed the ability to walk into town on the river trail. Clean bathrooms and a nice hot shower! It is near the Highway, so highway sounds are to be expected. Trucks do engine brake as they enter the area, so that s not ideal for a quiet setting but it didn t disturb our sleep in any way.Having stayed here and the other RV park in town, I d pick this one every time for the convenience of walking to things.

I don't mind the sound of the highway. We have had no issues sleeping as I saw other reviews speak of. The trail running through the middle is unique and you'll see lots of families, bikers, and runners pass through. We have enjoyed the stay here and you can't beat the distance to all the great things to see and do.

I just spent five nights on one of the tent sites and will gladly book again. My Asheville focus is on visiting the River Arts District and this campground is just minutes from that area by car. The vibe during my stay was laid back, so no loud music or parties. And the French Broad greenway runs right through it, so it s easy access to a great trail for biking or walking. Prices are quite reasonable.

We stayed in an airbnb airstream at the RV park and had a great experience! We had never stayed at an RV park and it exceeded our expectations. Besides the light noise of traffic on the road above the park is very quiet. Everyone else staying here was respectful and kind. Staying on the river was so lovely. There is a trail right on the park that is a great walk, run, or bike. I would recommend staying here especially if you are bringing your dog!

Good location, but that s about it. No contact with owners who proudly proclaim ownership for 30 years. No one there at arrival. Could not get into bathroom because the code did not work. When we called in the evening to answer our questions and find out why the bathroom code did not work, no one answered. In the morning, we finally saw someone in the registration house. We asked for a 1 hour delay In departure. He agreed. Yet, a little after 11, they promptly called us as to why we had not left. Only wish they were as prompt with our other concerns. Bathrooms are important.
