We had an old family car, 2008 Volvo XC90, that needed a lot of work, but was worth keeping because we live in Louisiana and the AC worked! Jason got the old car up and running terrifically for a reasonable price and explained what was necessary and what was not to make it safe. Drove the car from NC to Louisiana in the blistering heat and the car never missed a lick. Highly recommend!

The best auto care and the best customer care I ve ever experienced! Larry, Jeanette, and Jason have kept my 2002 Volvo in good shape for quite a few years. They do excellent work, and take the time to explain and advise. Larry and his team are absolutely wonderful! I had taken my car to other mechanics previously who were unable to figure out what was causing my cars issues and inability to drive/accelerate. Because of his experience and skill, Larry was able to get to the root cause of my car trouble in 15 minutes and had my car fully fixed within 2 days. He has been in the business for years and it absolutely showed in his diagnosis and work. Larry and his team were kind, fast and professional and went above and beyond to ensure that my car was fixed. Would absolutely recommend and plan on returning for any future repairs

Larry's is by far the best place to take your car for repairs. My family has taken our Volvos to Larry for over 10 years and have always been satisfied with the quality of work, and the customer service. (The few times that we've tried to take a car in for repairs to another shop that may have charged slightly less, we always regretted it.) Larry's is known for their expertise, honesty, quality workmanship, and reliability for reason! I wouldn't trust anyone else with my car more than I do Larry and his crew. I selfishly hope he never retires!

If you're looking for honest, nice people to do conscientious work on your European car, I highly recommend Larry's Performance Werks. I do a good bit of my own car work, so I know when mechanics are trying to cheat me. On two occasions now, Larry had an opportunity to try and take advantage of my situation, but both times Larry has proven that he is not only honest, but generous, and has the customer's best interest at heart. Furthermore, when my uncle owned a Volvo some years ago, he regularly took his car there and experienced the same good service and honesty that I have greatly appreciated.

Larry's Performance has done an excellent job for me. A dealership had told me that my car needed $1,700 worth of work on the Engine Control Module. I called Larry who looked at my car the day I called and fixed the problem for $50. I would recommend Larry's Performance to anyone with a Volvo. He was very professional and his work was excellent. I've now used him twice and would never go anywhere else.

I have had the privilege of taking my old Volvos to Larry's for many years now. Larry, Clark, Jeannette (and even the dogs!) have always treated my cars and me with the utmost kindness, integrity and respect. It is such a rarity in today's world to find a business that you can have such complete confidence in. Larry is a true Volvo GENIUS. I am so grateful for their honesty and expertise and HIGHLY recommend them. Don't waste your time and money - get your Volvo to Larry's - it will thank you!

I never post reviews but felt the need to do so about Larry s Performance Werks. My Volvo had a flashing check engine light and car was misfiring bad.I had it towed to Larry s and they diagnosed and fixed it and some other issues the same day. Larry will be servicing my Volvo from now on. Highly recommend!!!

It's time I gave a big shout out to Larry's Performance Werks in Asheville, NC. For 20+ years Larry & Co have kept my Volvos running tip-top and for a fair price to boot! I'm sitting at 299,000 miles on my (original owner) '96 850 & preparing for my next 100k miles. I can't remember how many times Larry & Staff have saved me from all kinds of mechanical crises.....even when I've pulled in on a Monday morning with no appointment! On a recent 3,000 mile trip Larry said "call me if you have any problems." I didn't because my car still drives like new, thanks to to the professional & exceptional service I've been receiving all these decades. I wouldn't let anyone but Larry or Jason ever touch my car and we have an agreement that Larry will not retire till the day my Volvo (or I) dies!!! And Jeanette is the glue that holds the whole thing together. One of the happiest days of my life was the day my dealership warranty ran out! Thank you guys for keeping my anxiety levels at an acceptable level.Steve B

I stopped taking our car to the dealership about a year ago... and I wish I d made the switch sooner. Larry and his crew are wonderful to work with, accommodating, and extremely qualified. More than once they ve gone out of their way to resolve issues and exceed my expectations. If you re looking for a stand up mechanic look no further.

So far the most honest place I've ever been to. Larry is extremely good at finding and fixing difficult to diagnose issues that other auto shop missed. He's an hour away, but the only person I trust with my Volvo, so it's worth it!

Larry was awesome. I have an old Volvo 240 that is in need of some care. The battery wasn't charging and so I took into Larry. He was patient and very thorough and fixed the problem in no time. Great experience!

I am a recently new customer of Larry's Performance Werks.I found both his assistant, Jason, and Larry to be most knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient--most of all honorable, a person you can trust your first born with--and Larry loves animals, to which Coco can attest, having done her bone dance after being given a treat. I will certainly return and recommend Larry's to anyone with a Volvo, or any other vehicle in need of service.

It's not very often that I am blown away by a mechanic. I own a 2007 VW Passat Wagon that I bought used. The car ran fine for a year... Then all of a sudden a spate of issues came up that had to be dealt with. The EVAP system, alternator and finally the ignition coils. Larry, a VW specialist, was able to specifically diagnose each issue as they occurred and provide solutions that didn't break the bank. That would be good enough and earn high praise, but what blew me away was Larry's openness and honesty throughout the entire process as well as his GREAT sense of humor! Oh, and I mustn't overlook Larry's wife, Jeanette, she runs the front end, equally helpful and fantastic to work with on the financial end of things. Thanks Larry, you have gained a loyal customer!

Larry's is the only shop I will ever trust with my two Audi's. I feel completely confident to drop the vehicles by and tell Larry "If it needs it, fix it." and know I will not be taken advantage of. Polite, professional, and great people.

My husband & I were traveling through to a new home in NC when my husband's Audi decided it was going to blow it's A/C Compressor. We limped into Asheville, and called Larry from the car for advice. First he did what he could to help us without having to bring the car in. However the damage was far more than we could handle. Larry took us in at 4:45 on a Thursday, gave us suggestions for local entertainment, and overnighted the parts for the repair. We loaded up 3 kids, a dog and a cat and prayed for the best. Friday morning, I called Larry to get an idea of the estimated repair time and he stated he already had things going with a plan to have us on the road by lunch time. Our family is absolutely in debted to his character and grace. He pulled off a difficult, costly repair and got us on the road in such a timely fashion. I would honestly drive the 3+ hours to his shop to have honest work done on any vehicle.

On way back to Ohio my check engine light came on. They took me in right away and diagnosed a problem that won t effect my drive. Explained everything well! I wish they were close to my home - they would be my only place to go! Thanks!

No nonsense business. Larry has take time out of his day on several occasions for me at no charge in order to give me the best advice possible. He doesn't just throw parts at a vehicle and is very clear about what the car needs. It is clear he cares very much about what he does and I won't be taking our Volvo to anyone else anytime soon!

It took me a while to find a mechanic who truly knows the specifics of what my Jetta TDI needs and address them properly, as well as take the time to explain things to me clearly so I can understand what is going on with my car, too. I am grateful for and impressed with the quality and integrity of Larry's. Thank you!

I have a VW bug and it is the only place I would take my car! They are courteous, efficient, friendly and had the car fixed in the time promised not to mention reasonably priced. They're the best!!!!

He did the tune up and tires well enough on our bug but we asked him to fix the heat and he said he had, I didn't even realize till the other day because my wife drives the car... never had good heat all winter. Burrrrrr

Told me about a coil recall on my Bug so I could get it done for free by the dealership instead of taking into their shop. That's some integrity that will make this place my default for mechanic needs from now on.

They take excellent care of my 2012 xc70. The level of detail they show on troubleshooting and determining the causes of issues is mildly frightening.

They are the only place to go for your Volvo in Asheville. The best.!!!! The dealership in Asheville is HORRIBLE!!!!
