Jimmy's cannot be trusted!These guys nearly earned a lifetime customer after they were able to diagnose and fix a problem with my truck that two other shops previously were unable to.These guys are smart...but they can't be trusted.Where they lost my business and referrals for a lifetime is when they wouldn't align my truck because there was "so much movement due to the wear on my upper and lower control arm assemblies that it would not be worth doing an alignment until those parts (on both sides) were replaced".They quoted me $2,200 for the proposed front end repair. After getting that quote I took my truck to not one, but two other shops that specialize in doing nothing but alignment and suspension work all day every day. The reason I went to two shops for other opinions is because I didn't want to believe what the first shop told me - which was that the proposed front end repair from Jimmy's was not needed at all.I wanted to give Jimmy's another chance by getting yet another opinion - after all they did great mechanical work resolving the problem I brought my truck to them for in the first place; a problem that had given me headaches for months. In the end, both specialty alignment and suspension shops agreed that none of the proposed work from Jimmy's was necessary, and a simple alignment would do the trick.If spending $2,200 at Jimmy's for what is only a $145 issue elsewhere sounds fun and is in your budget, then maybe these guys are for you.

Really appreciated the service I received at Jimmy s Automotive. The level of detail on my auto inspection was top notch. The service tech, Jose, was incredibly thorough, took detailed photographs of each item listed in the inspection report, and helped me to identify issues that were in my best interest to fix. The addition of a loaner car to drive for nearly a full week was a welcome surprise and made the transition very smooth. Michael was a great communicator and helped to clearly answer every question I had. Will definitely return in the future for any work I need done. Auto repairs are not cheap, but Jimmy s provides good value in the work they do. Thank you!

I had an appointment at 1 PM and they took me in at that time for my repairs. All during my waiting time I was kept updated with the progress of the work and other problems that they found. Michael, the service manager clearly explained the needed repairs, and I was given a printout of what was required for future repairs. All the work was done in a timely manner. The personnel were cordial and courteous, and the waiting rooms were clean and comfortable.

Got great service. Did a thorough job and got a new battery. The battery will now not hold a charge. Called to get it replaced and wouldn't get me in for over 10 days to replace a faulty battery they sold me. My son leaves for college this weekend. On to find the next mechanic. Thanks Mary Beth for your lack of empathy and understanding.

Excellent and trustworthy service!Additional info since last review:- Not only is the car service great and the pricing fair but the customer service is also top notch. Was blown away when on a frigid morning the young lady up front told me hold tight, I ll warm up your car and bring it to the door . Wow.- I got a mailer from Jimmys and won t lie by thinking it was more camp fire starter. Ends up Mr. Jimmy makes an AMAZING newsletter. I mean this thing has truly useful content.5+ stars!

After taking my 03 B-4000 to 3 other mechanics who misdiagnosed and couldn t fix it, I waited a while to write this review. 3 months after my first appointment at Jimmy s and my truck runs better than it ever has. Michael and Jessica have been great to me. Communicative, knowledgeable, and exceedingly thorough. The service you ll get at Jimmy s is worth every penny.

Jimmy's Automotive is outstanding in every way. I appreciate their clarity about maintenance/identified problems and associated costs upfront. Love the reminders for ongoing maintenance scheduling. One less thing I have to worry about. I've been a customer for two years now and very highly recommend Jimmy's.

I've been using Jimmy's for the past 11 years and have happy with the service. Recently they have started making recommendations about various services and sending pictures of the problem area. This all seems good, but I decided to get a second oppinion with a Honda specialist and was told that I did not need that service. They saved me $2200!Jimmy's also charged me $145 for an electrical test, that is offered free at Auto body shops and other service shops.Don't have blind trust, get a second opinion!

Jimmy s Automotive is awesome! They took care of a problem with my 2002 Toyota 4Runner that my local Toyota Service Department told me couldn t be fixed! I was very well pleased with my bill as well! Jimmy s Automotive rocks! God bless them forever! Thanks again Jimmy s Automotive!

We had to drive a car across country that hadn t run in over two years. We had it towed over to Jimmy s Automotive Center to prepare it for the trip. They handled all of our concerns and when we picked up the car all it needed was a good washing. The staff was second to none and their work was top shelf. Great business. Had several warning indicators lite up on my dash.Turned out my problem was not what I expected. Diagnosed my problems quickly, and I left paying alot less than I anticipated. Friendly personal. I'll definitely recommend this business.

This place is a hidden gem! After trying to find a honest, reliable shop that could diagnose my car knocking; I came across this place on Google. They had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try. They communicated so well and the estimate for repairs was very detailed. Even though my repairs were higher than I could imagine, I understand putting in an engine is not cheap! The sales manager (Brian) kept me updated in every step and recommended a few other things to keep an eye on. Another thing that makes them stand out from the rest is they offer loaner cars! I ve never heard of a shop doing that so that was a PLUS that we didn t have to spend a lot of extra money on a rental car! I rate them 10 s! I don't know what I expected being new to Asheville, but this Automotive Center Blew me away. It was clean, professional and had a new, modern appearance. I'll definitely be back, and will certainly recommend my friends. Great people - Mary Beth at the desk was efficient, kind and helpful. A+++

We have had outstanding service on our Lexus RX-350 from Jimmy's. With each service appointment, service techs analyze current and (probably) future issues with our vehicle. I take them in priority order and gradually work them off the list. With the last visit, techs replaced the rear brakes, but my wife complained of a "rolling thump" appearing immediately after service. In two months, it was still there--loud and clear. Jimmy's techs diagnosed the issue as a brake rotor problem. Replacing the rotor solved the noise issue and the car wheels now "roll" without a sound. Problem solved. Service with a smile!!

Good experience overall.My Jeep Patriot had overheated.I called the next day and made an appointment. Took it in 3 days later.Brian was thorough and knowledgeable in explaining the issues with my car.About 5 days later when I went to pick it up the process was swift. I can tell this is a very organized business.

The service team was very honest and clear which means so much to me being a woman walking into a mechanic shop alone. I dropped my car off and scheduled the soonest appointment they had which was several days later. They ended up calling me and getting my car looked at and repaired that day! They even kept the part that needed replacement and showed me exactly what was wrong. I made an apt to have my brake pads replaced. When I dropped off my vehicle they said there was a $75 inspection fee. Pretty standard for a mechanic, but this should have been communicated at the time of making the apt. When they contacted me about the brakes, they had checked my transmission fluid, my coolant, all my lights, my tires, my suspension, etc. They were just trying to make a big sale. I said no thank you and asked for just the brake pads (like I had originally asked for), and said they wouldn't do it and would only do a full brake job with all new parts, totally just shy of $2000. I respectfully declined the service, and the next mechanic I called said they would do pads, resurface the rotors, and top of the fluid $398. Skip Jimmy's if you want to keep your wallet and have clear upfront service.

I am a new customer and am very pleased with the work and customer service at Jimmy s Auto Center. Jessica was the first person I talked to when I walked in to set up an appt for multiple issues with my Nissan Rogue; she was friendly, knowledgeable, and went out of her way to help me and explain the potential charges. On the day of service, Michael checked me in and was my main source of contact for my appt; he was also very friendly and helpful, and again explained the charges and warned me about what my potential charges could be since some of my car issues could be costly. Jose M. was my technician and he did a very thorough job inspecting my car and then completing the repairs needed. I really liked the fact that via text I could read the service report and see all the notes. Though it was a hefty bill, it was a reasonable bill considering all the items that needed to be done. I will absolutely be returning here again and plan to recommend to friends and family in the area. Brought my car in for noisy front wheel bearings. Their inspection also found badly worn front struts and rear shocks. They replaced all the parts but during the required wheel alignment discovered they found a bad rear link. Replaced the link, aligned it and got my car back on the day promised. It was a half hour after closing time but I got it back. Drives like a dream.

Terrible experience. I was quoted one price for service over the phone, and then after paying for diagnostics I was quoted something much higher for the same work. In fact, the quote was higher than what the dealer would charge. Not only did Brian not provide a clear reason for why the quote changed so drastically, but they still charged me for the diagnostics. I will never go here again and I will never recommend this place to my friends or family.
