Great team made for a pleasant, collegial experience. I got a good deal on a car that suits my needs perfectly. Many thanks to Brandon for all his help in closing the deal. I'll be back for all the free oil changes!

Considering that you are paying the highest possible price here you would think that you would get the best service. After three bad experiences, I'm convinced that is not the case.I bought a used Prius from these guys and a few months back detected the sound that indicates a bad wheel bearing. I planned on fixing it myself but diagnosing wheel bearings can be tricky if you don't have the proper equipment and experience. So I brought my Prius in for these guys to diagnose it. The sound seemed like it was coming from the right rear but I wanted to be sure. After looking at it they informed me it was actually the left rear. I really thought it was the right rear so I called them back and said "are you sure"? The advisor said yes and I guote "I'm going to go with what my technician with over 20 years of experience says". So I changed out the left rear wheel bearing and low and behold the sound was still there. So I basically changed out a good wheel bearing. Several hundred dollars and hours of my time for nothing. When I called them to complain, the service manager Tyler, originally said they weren't going to do anything about it! A few hours later he called back and said if I brought the car in they would fix the bad bearing for the cost of the part which is close to $400 (probably cost them $100). This time they say they are going to use a scope to make sure which bearing is bad. Not sure why they didn't do this the first time. They call back and say it is your right front? Hmmm what? Okay. So they replace it and call me back and inform me it sounds like my right rear, the one I originally thought was bad, was also going bad but it wasn't that big of a problem compared to the right front. Ok. I get the car back and low and behold the noise is still there. The right rear was always the bad one. I'm not at all convinced that the front was bad enough to change and I know the left rear that I changed was not bad at all.Tired of dealing with them I went ahead and replaced the right rear. After spending 12 hours of my time and $900 on wheel bearings ($400 for their ridiculously marked up one and $500 on the two I bought at the auto parts store) the problem was finally fixed. If they had diagnosed it correctly the first time it is likely that the problem would have been fixed for under $400 total and just a few hours of my time. Tyler and Toyota thinks they did me some great favor by fixing the wrong bearing for the cost of their part. They have a complete lack of respect for my and everyone else's time. These guys also promised me free oil changes for the life of my car. What they don't tell you is that only applies when you use them to do all the recommended maintenance along the way. So you basically are paying them twice as much as you would pay elsewhere for all of the maintenance for the vehicles life and they are giving you what cost them pennies on the dollar oils changes every 5000 miles. Shocker!I finally had enough a few weeks ago when I scheduled a transmission service for my 4runner and they said it was going to be $118. When I got there at 7 am to get the service (I had to get up at 5:30AM to make it there on time) they informed me that it was actually $250. The service center girl definitely quoted me $118. Tyler said he would give me $20(8%)off for the misunderstanding. Really? Again, these guys have a complete lack of respect for anyone's time and don't mind billing you 100's of dollars per hour for theirs.Do yourself a huge favor and call around Asheville and get a quote next time you are considering servicing your vehicle here. You can find a reputable place that will do the work for 50-60% of the cost of these guys. And get much better service to boot.

Extremely rude management. They don't listen to the customer, then they argue with them instead of taking responsibility for their actions. I would love for someone higher up to contact me about the awful experience I had. When I day higher up, I mean someone from corporate because the people who work here are insecure and can't solve an issue if it was a broken tail light.

I have bought multiple cars through this dealership and have generally had a positive experience w/ Fred Anderson until my last purchase. They sold the car to me with a key that was actually missing components to it (there was supposed to be a manual key insert that was just completely gone). I don't have ton of car knowledge and didn't realize it was missing a part. The sales person who I worked with claimed she helped guide her customers who weren't as knowledgeable through the sale to ensure they knew what to look for and ask for, which was clearly false. When I went to a locksmith to get a copy of the key he was appalled by the condition and said that this was absolutely not standard and called them "Fred's Roadside Toyota" for selling a car with keys that were in that condition. I called Fred Anderson and the manager that I spoke to claimed that this was standard (which is either a really bad look for Fred Anderson's standards or my guess is that it clearly is not standard if someone who makes keys in the area is saying that he never sees this, but they are just saying that so they don't have to pay to make a new key). It was such a small ask for either a reimbursement or another better set of keys but I was denied even though I purchased the car a few days ago. Fred Anderson lost a returning customer and a previous fan.

I ve been taking my Prius here for 2 years, at a service a little while back I had my tires rotated and my car started making a terrible loud sound the faster I drove. I was told it was uneven wear of the tire and would get better. A few weeks later it got worse and I had a 10 hour drive so I took it back to get it looked at. My car was there for over 4 hours and at the end I was told I needed new tires and was told they said that at my last service (they didn t). I end up getting new tires somewhere else and the sound was still there. Turns out my rear wheel bearings were completely messed up. It took 3 different shops (and almost 1000 in new tires I didn t need) to figure it out. This could have been CATASTROPHIC if I kept driving. From my understanding this can happen if things are put back too tightly with a rotation. I ve tried to call and talk to someone about it and haven t gotten any calls returned. Needless to say, I ll never trust them again.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Tire rotations

I wanted to give a one star rating so badly. However, the service supervisor (Bobby) made sure I left happy so I will leave it at five stars. To make a long story short, I lost the fob to my 2016 4Runner while visiting NC. I was locked out and had to be towed to this dealership, 65 miles in the opposite direction of home (Atlanta), in order to have a new key made. The tow truck driver was very nice and accommodating. He knew I had been waiting outside all day for the tow truck to get to me. So, the tow truck driver offers to drop me off at the hotel I needed to book for the night because the dealership was already closed. The tow truck driver said he would then go unload my vehicle in the "service department" parking lot. First thing the next morning, I call to make sure the dealership is aware that my vehicle is on their lot. Ms. PEDI answers and says if I didn't leave keys in the overnight dropbox, they wouldn't have been aware that my vehicle was there... Well, I didn't have keys to put in a dropbox. She says, "Well, we have 600 cars on this lot and I don't know where your car is. Have the tow truck driver call me." I text her request and direct phone number that she provided to the tow truck driver and his dispatcher. I tried calling her back on the direct line three times, no answer. I call the dealership four to five times, no response. I called AGAIN and was told a manager was looking into it and would call me back in five minutes. An hour later, still nothing. I then had to check out of my hotel room (11am). I took an Uber to the dealership. It took me five seconds of being at the dealership to find my vehicle! A male in the service department walked me right to a desk... MS. PEDI! As soon as he started telling her what I needed, she already knew exactly who I was. Her face said it all. She's still swearing up and down she wouldn't have been able to find my 4Runner and asked me to "walk her out to it". As seen in the attached pictures (State's Exhibit A and B ), you could literally see my car from her desk. It is now 1130. She then says it'll be an hour and a half to complete. I wait. With a 6yo. 1 o'clock, 1:30, 2 o'clock. I asked for a supervisor and this is when Bobby came and saved my day. As I told Bobby, they may not have known it was there overnight. And they may not have known it was there at 7am when they opened. But at 830am, when I called, Ms. Pedi should have taken ownership of the problem. It should not have taken my leaving a hotel, getting an Uber to some place I have never been, and pointing out my own car on your lot to your staff before they were able to find it. We are in NC in the middle of a Wednesday; my car is the ONLY one here with a Georgia license plate! The slightest bit of effort, problem solving skills, and/or critical thinking, would have spared this situation from spiraling. Thank you, Bobby, for having a great attitude, integrity, and the ability to critically think.

My wife and I purchased my 2020 Tacoma from Fred Anderson in 2022 and the sales process was great except they didn t fully explain the family plan to us (free oil changes for life and couple other things). So I book my oil change last week and bring it in today 8/2/2023 and they said I m not eligible for it because I didn t bring it in every time for service. Well that wasn t explained to me or my wife during the sale nor was that explained to me when I booked the appointment. I live an hour away so that would ve been nice to know. So the service manager said we can make an exception but you need to do your 60k mileage service now even though I m not at 60k yet. Which that would cost $679. Long story short, I will never buy another car nor service another car at Fred Anderson Toyota of Asheville.

I use Fred Anderson Toyota for all service, repairs and inspections on both of my Toyota vehicles. Their service department is exceptional. Have worked with several of the people in that department and all have been very helpful and patient. My recent visit was for a 60,000 mile service and a new battery. Mike Lentz was my service advisor. He was great to work with and kept me informed along the way with the progress of my vehicle.I also like the video inspection they send me via email and text.

The auto repair section keeps close to the appointment times. Depending on the service you require, they will finish needed work in a timely manner. The salesperson in the purchasing area are friendly, helpful and will not pressure you to buy. Brandon was the best!

Staff was friendly, we never been over there so we was not sure where to go. They should of told us when the appointment was made that it takes 2 + hours we would have been better prepared. The coke machine was almost empty plus it was taking people's money. But at least we had a cool place to sit. Bathrooms was clean and well stocked. They need a snack machine. There is one in another part of the building, but you couldn't get there because they are remodeling.

The staff are very courteous and respectful. My vehicle is always well cared for. My only complaint is the extremely long wait times for service, regardless of having a scheduled appointment. Today was the shortest wait I have had, and it was still 1and 1/2 hours. Most of the time is is well over 2 hours, and I have waited for over 4. Today my car sat in front of an empty alignment bay for 30+ minutes before they found a technician available to check my alignment. I requested an alignment check when I made the appointment, and I feel that there should have been someone readily available to perform this task. Overall, I like Fred Anderson. I just hope they can improve the wait times for simple services.Service: Oil change

After a rough start during Covid the dealership has gone through some growing pains, but they rebounded nicely. My go to for all my Toyota repairs and service since 2012.

They do decent work but they have no respect for the customers time. Your appointment is meaningless, your car will sit and wait for an hour even with an appointment. Rather than finishing one car at a time mechanics will bounce from car to car making any job take twice as long as it should. If I'm gonna pay extra to come to the dealership I expect the work to be done in a reasonable amount of time. I won't be coming here again

Communication from sign in to service was good. What I Really loved was the video the tech shot both under the hood and under the car. This will go a long way in developing a great deal of trust between the customer and service dept. I will be using these folks again for specialty work I can't get done anywhere else. They are professional and congenial. Prices however, are considerably higher than you would pay at your local mechanics.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical

I was very pleased with the service from start to finish. Toyota sent someone to pick up my car from my place of work at 10 a.m. The work - mounting and balancing a new set of 4 tires, 4-wheel alignment, oil change and 40,000 mile service - was completed and the car returned to me by 3 p.m. The total cost was about $760. Very reasonable for the amount of work done. Shelby, the service department representative assigned to me, walked me through the entire process and kept me informed as to how the work progressed. She was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and patient, answering all my questions and addressing all my concerns. I highly recommend the Fred Anderson Toyota of Asheville service department.Services: Tires, Wheel alignment, Oil change

Went in for a scheduled 5,000 mile oil change and tire rotation. It took over 2 hours! Not impressed with the wait time. I was quoted 30 minutes to 1 hour. And it was well over 2 hours. In the past it would take 20 minutes and done. Fast, professional, on time. And an enjoyable experience. I would rate 5 not sure why this last time wasn't up to par.Service: Oil change

I have used two Fred Anderson Toyota s (Asheville and Columbia) and both are generally very similar though Columbia s facility is a more modern design. Asheville took care of me today and scheduled me yesterday afternoon for my appointment today, even though the website wouldn t let me choose it, I was assured it would be 90 minutes or less- it was 75 minutes. They are taking extra precautions due to the pandemic with a thin courtesy plastic cover to protect anything they would ordinarily touch inside of your vehicle, which I was pleased to see. All in all it was a good service, consistent with what I ve come to expect over the past two years.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

I called at 8:30 this morning to get my very first 5,000 mile oil change on my 2020 Toyota Corolla. The very sweet and professional young lady who answered the phone gave me an option to bring it in at 9:15. I asked for a later time, she offered 1:30. This was perfect, good thing for me because I was at 4990 and couldn't wait another day. My fault I know I'm a limit pusher obviously. Lol I couldn't remember if she gave me a time of 1 or 1:30 so I got there at 12:50 and was just gonna drop it off and come back when they had time to get to it since I was early. The young lady stated it may take 90 minutes when I spoke with her on the phone so I made arrangements to just leave it. An extremely nice gentleman greeted me when I pulled in and asked a few questions and showed me inside to finish the process. I spoke with Phillip inside and he asked a few more questions. He asked if I was going to wait and I said no just let me know when it's done and I will come back and get it. I left with my ride, went to the store, drove back home. As I was pulling in to the driveway I get a text my car is ready. LESS THAN 30 MINUTES people. I was shocked. I have NEVER been anywhere and got my oil changed and all the other things they checked in under 30 minutes. These guys are on their game. I am forever a customer of this dealership. I didn't even buy my car from them, but I will most definitely be buying from them if I buy a new car in the future. Way to go guys, you all should be very proud to work for an amazing dealership. Thank you again!Service: Oil change

I went in for my 30,000 mile service, not really sure what that included. It was basically oil change, tire rotation, a couple of air filters, and an alignment if necessary. Colby was my service technician and he was excellent! He helped me understand what was being done and perhaps what services I needed and which ones are I didn t right now. I also had a discount postcard that he applied and I saved additional money that way. I felt like he was honest with me about my time investment while I was there waiting on the vehicle and what was necessary to be done while I was there. It s nice to be able to trust someone regarding car maintenance. Not a seasoned veteran there!Service: General repairs & maintenance

They communicated throughout the service visit. The video of their processes was helpful. Not sure why we make appointment times when it has no effect on timely service or getting you through more quickly. I picked the earliest time that they make available and yet when I arrive 15 minutes before that time there were many people already there and cars in the service bays. I will just show up well before 7 AM next time.

Service may be taking a little longer than usual but the care taken was well worth it. The videographer was excellent giving detailed information about the car and very polite. I always have an amazing experience there. Everyone who I've run into have always been kind. Colby is always amazing and Kevin is great too. Great service staff for sure. I never feel rushed or spoken down to when I don't understand what it is exactly they're doing. They treat people like people and not just customers. They set the example. I had an appointment and I was helped immediately when I arrived. Mike did a great job of getting the car repair that I had asked for. One thing had not been completed and he made sure that all was completed before the job was considered finished. I was able to leave sooner than the predicted time. I sat outside in the shade on the porch and had a pleasant breeze during the time I had to wait. I had a great experience getting a 50,000 mile service on my car.

Great customer service. The service took longer than they had estimated due to a rotor issue. Great service. Very quick. Hard to hear and understand the staff with stupid masks on their face though. No drinks and snacks anymore. Had doors open so it was hot in waiting room. Flys and bugs everywhere. Seats are old and torn. But like I said great service, mechanics and advisors.
