On our way to Brevard and Asheville for the weekend, the car's brakes started grinding badly. It didn't seem like a good idea to drive back to Ohio without addressing the issue. Our local friend recommended Affordable Mufflers & Brakes. We arrived Monday around 9:30am -- there were a couple of cars ahead of us. The shop is walking distance from restaurants and shops to kill time while waiting for your car. We didn't have to kill much time because we were on the road to Ohio by noon with repaired brakes. Extremely pleased! Thanks Gary!

Honest business. Gary did top notch work at a fair price. He even spotted another wear-and-tear problem with my heat shield and patched it up at the same time. Highly recommended and will do business with again.

I ve been going to Affordable Mufflers & Brakes for more than ten years. A couple things you should know if you re a first-time client: the work is honest and fair, and it s first-come, first-served, so try to arrive before 7:30 am. I was first in line today and out the door with new brake pads in under 45 minutes.

Jerry was able to fix my 2004 Honda Odyssey the same day without an appointment. His fee was incredibly reasonable and his work was top-notch. I will never go anywhere else to have exhaust work done. Affordable Muffler is a phenomenal shop, trustworthy andExceptionally fair priced. A+++

Great first experience-Love a good recommendation from another local shop that did not do exhaust work.Quick service, and communicated exactly what was wrong with my vehicle, what it would take to fix. Affordable, honest pricing and that is hard to find in a shop as a young female. Highly recommend!

We keep an SUV in the Asheville area to be used for towing our trailer when we take road trips. We hadn t driven our vehicle for a few months & the brakes felt a bit off. My husband brought the car in for a brake inspection. He was told the brake pads & fluids were in shape and wasn t charged a fee. We greatly appreciate honest, caring business people with heart. We highly recommend this shop for your brake & muffler needs!

Called every brake shop around this morning and he gave me an estimate about $100 below anyone else. Ended up costing well below the estimate(I thought I needed rotors and he was able to save them). Highly recommend my new mechanic. :)Service: BrakesService: Brakes

Came in from out of state because my brakes were shuddering, found a review on reddit and decided to give them a shot. Guy is straight as an arrow and ended up putting my can on the lift and telling me my options for no charge, knowing I'd never spend another dime there because his shop is 700 miles from our house. Can't imagine there's a more honest guy around.

I called this guy about 7:45 am Friday morning in a panic. My muffle came loose and was dragging on the ground while I went up to Mission Hospital as my daughter was having a baby. He asked if I could drop it off so I was able to and get a ride back to the hospital. He called about noon said it was ready. I got over there and when I went to get my debit card. He said there was no charge???!!!!!I told him I would at least like to pay him something but he wouldn t take it. It was an easy fix apparently.I was shocked at this man s kindness and gratitude. This has never happened to me before. And usually if I do take my car to a mechanic, I never have gotten out without it being $100 or more not to mention the callbacks I receive from other mechanics saying that my car needs this or it needs that. I can t express the relief and the blessing I felt today because of his simple act of kindness.

The quality of work is second to no one else, the attention to detail well it reminds me of when I was young and used to go with my grandparents or parents to a shop to get work done. I have seen a lot of shops that slap stuff together and throw you back out on the road, and you're on your own. If you need any type of brake or exhaust work, this is the place to come to.

I wish I had gone to the dealership first. He put on lousy aftermarket rotors that lasted about 3 months. He turned the rotors on my wife's car and ruined them. He may be affordable but your money will go further just about anywhere else.

This guy is AWESOME! Got there 30 mins before he opened up shop on a Friday and was on my way out of town by 9am. He charged me $10 LESS to look at it and fix. The first place I took it to and charged me $50 to tell me to take it to a muffler shop. I got this service done 3 weeks ago and just remembered I wanted to come give him a review. My car's muffler was loud and not being from N.C. I was not sure but, Affordable Muffler was highly recommended and for good reason, They are wonderful. After going to the local dealership and being quoted $1200 for a new exhaust, I went to see these guys for a second quote. I told them that I needed a new exhaust. They showed me it was a simple repair and that no replacement was necessary. They even tightened some other things that were loose and causing some rattling noises. Total cost, $40.It s refreshing to deal with people who understand that honesty leads to longevity in business. If you need muffler or break work done, stop by and see these folks. Just had my Audi Q5 brakes done. This is the 4th vehicle that we've had serviced there. No appointments so it is best to get there early in the morning. They are honest, reliable, exceedingly reasonable in their pricing. Got a call before any work was done to make sure we were OK with the diagnosis. Had a really good experience here. I haven't gotten my brakes done since buying my car and my car has 90K miles on it. I don't know anything about cars and would have believed anything they told me (friends and family told me I could be looking at a hefty bill depending on what was needed) but they ended up telling me I only needed front brake pads! I feel they were very honest and got me in quickly before my weekend trip to Kentucky. Definitely recommend!

I highly recommend this shop. My son goes to school down here so I was looking for an honest shop to replace the flex pipe located toward the front of the exhaust. He dropped the vehicle off at 7:30 AM and was done by noon. Fair pricing and honest work. It was well worth the 20 mile drive.Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

I haven't been here in years but I just came here to say this is the place I recommend for everybody all the time.One time I came in and his business partner had literally died the previous day and he STILL SHOWED UP FOR WORK and did my brake lines that day.I know I don't have that kind of work ethic, I'd be home crying.

100% satisfied! I had the catalytic converter taken from 4Runner while it was parked in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Affordable Mufflers was able to replace the stolen parts for one-tenth the price quoted by the dealership. The work was done in less than a day. Needless to say, I was thrilled. Honest dependable nice Great knowledgeable. I can go on, be sure to get there early as he is busy.Now 6 years later, he is Still in business and busy as ever! I went in for brakes and warning light.
