I have recently moved to North Carolina, and found these guys from a recommendation. I can say that I always leave happy with my mini coupe being taken care of. They go the extra mile to ensure their customers are happy. Chris which usually works on my car always and I mean always cleans my windshield. Dwight always follows up days after to make sure Im satisfied. I really recommend these guys and I truly appreciate all your hard work. Thank you for being so kind and great.

Every time I bring my car in for a checkup or repair, Dwight and his mechanics always do a phenomenal job. My one vehicle has over 210k miles on it now with no issues & that s a testament to their work. I moved up from Florida and found their work priced fairly compared to any mechanic or dealer I ve dealt with in Florida. After price checking on multiple occasions what my mechanic in Florida would charge vs Salem Street Car Care Center, my guy in Florida was always higher on his labor and parts. I will continue recommend this place to everyone I meet.

Dwight and his team took care of our family van. I made an appointment in advance and they exceeded my service level expectations on time, value and even when busy they were calm and took the time to ask me how my day was. I highly recommend them to take care of your car. My recommendation is to set up an appointment in advance, if you do drop off same day they can be very busy which is a sign of a good healthy business. I have been going to this shop for more than 8 years (I haven't been there in a couple years because we bought a new vehicle on Dwight's recommendation) God Bless!

I took my car here based on the good reviews but have had nothing but bad experiences for the 3 times I did. After paying a wild amount of money just to put band aids on my issues and not end up fixing them I will not be taking my car here anymore, especially after being charged for services that were not even performed. Just another mechanic that takes advantage of people who don't know about cars....

I had the worst experience at this auto shop! I went in because my temperature light was on, and it turned off after just 10 minutes, I decided to get it checked out. Initially, they quoted me $60 for the diagnosis, but later they tacked on extra charges, saying it could be anywhere from $70 to $120 including everything. But guess what? I ended up getting charged a whopping $144, claiming it was for labor, parts, tax, etc. I have no idea what kind of inspection they did because they didn't even bother explaining it to me properly. It felt like a total scam! I don't trust this place at all, despite the good reviews it has. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place like the plague. There are much better options out there for car diagnosis and repairs.

Today I had to go and get my tires checked because of yellow light on my odometer indicated my tire pressure was low. I m very grateful for my tires being repaired because the tire pressure was low on my four tires. Thankfully, no nail was punctured on the tire however, when I entered the shop, I am extremely disappointed, and I did not receive a good warm welcoming when I entered the building plus a bad cigarette odor inside waiting room made me felt extremely uncomfortable since I have an asthma and I m highly allergic to smoking. When I informed Dwight the manager and the owner of this issue he did not seem to care and did not owe an apology. This is extremely unprofessional it s not only on welcoming and uncomfortable to me, but it can be a problem for other customers as well. The staffs give me a bit of an attitude which I do not appreciate as well, Please never ever smoke in the building.

I had an 8:30am appointment today and I arrived at 8:25am to 1. Find Parking 2. Let the front office know I was there. It's a very tight area and parking is tough so, I just parked behind a car that was being serviced in the garage, not thinking it was going to be a problem when the mechanic told me to move it cause it will block the out going and ingoing cars. Fair enough but he was already servicing a car that wasn't leaving and all I wanted to do was to let the office know I was here on time. So, I moved it to the other side where one of the garage doors didn't have a car in it, and he still gave me an attitude. I said "I'm just gonna tell the office I've arrived. I have an appointment now and there's no car there". Hey! I get it, you're busy, or whatever but I wasn't gonna leave the car there for hours. Anyway, more attitude so ... I left. I'm sure they do great work but they won't get my business. Just be aware, parking space is limited. It's on a busy street.

I will be doing all of my future repairs and services here. I came in with a 2005 Tacoma manual transmission and a bad clutch (150K miles) and Dwight diagnosed the problem, then replaced the clutch. The clutch is actually better than it was when the vehicle was new. I know this because I am the original driver and it is still my daily driver. So, it was nice that the turn around time was so quick and the price was so reasonable. Truck works better than ever! Thanks, Dwight.

Dwight and his team are honest mechanics. Brought my 2011 Honda Accord in that needed a steering rack and upper and lower control arms. After they installed the steering rack they told me that I did not need the upper and lower control arms which saved me $1200. Thank you Salem street car care center, you have my business forever.

Finding a car care place you can trust can sometime be impossible but I know I have found one now, I had been having trouble with my alternator for sometime, some times working fine and other times battery light would come on and it would be putting out only 3 volts. Finally decided to repair it but after seeing you have to take out both radiators and fans and other parts decided to get it done by someone else, of course Hyundai wanted your first born and still wanted money, then another local place wanted just a little less and wasn't sure which alternator was the correct one since there were 2 to chose from I had to tell them which one, so I stopped in Salem car care Dwight gave me a price which was less than half of what Hyundai wanted. But to prove Dwight was so trusting was when he called me to ask why I was replacing the alternator since it had tested fine, after I told him the story he said ok I understand now you have been having problems. Some mechanics would have cleaned up old one and said here you go or just replaced it without testing it. The price was great it was done quickly and done correctly. I will be back if I need my car worked on and would definitely recommend them to anyone.Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance

Dwight was great. I had been taking my car to the dealership for maintenance and repair, but when my car started to make a strange noise and I was told that it would be 3 weeks before a maintenance appointment was available from the dealer, I decided to look around and find a car repair place that had good reviews and could take a look at my car in a timely manner.My entire experience was great. Salem Street Car Care was able to identify and fix the problem and have my car back to me on the same day. The prices were also very reasonable. I plan on being a repeat customer. UPDATE July 19, 2023. Dwight & his team come through again. 5 stars. Our 2012 Honda Civic A/C wasn t blowing very cold. Dwight s shop recharged it and put dye in for the future when it leaks out again to see where the leak is coming from. Very slow leak they said. Great work. Blowing ice cold again! . Yes! An excellent place to bring your car for repairs or even antique car repairs and upgrades! Dwight as well as his team are very good mechanics and seem to know what they re doing! Had our Honda Civic brakes replaced there, had my 1969 dodge dart fan belts and checked out there, and had my 2001 Toyota Celica engine fixed there so they know what they re doing! highly recommend!

Can not comment on service. Walked in to get an estimate for a brake job. They did not welcome you, barely spoke to you or responded to your questions, did not get up from their seat, barely spoke to me from behind the counter, I gave them make and model, I needed an estimate, finally, they verbally gave an estimate after pushing for a $amount, yeah around $400 as if they are telling me, we are so busy, we don t want you, just leave. I did leave and never coming back.

Dwight and Anthony were very nice to me in a mini -emergency situation. I am very grateful.And I am the last person to praise auto shops. But I can see why they have such happy customers and good reviews.Update to this review after initial post. I took my truck in for repairs and I am so grateful for the service. I do not like mechanics after having been mislead and cheated so many times. So, I just want my fellow citizens to know, that Dwight, the owner, was a race car driver and he really knows cars! My truck is old and I should buy a new car but I am attached to this old truck, and I took in in for repairs even though I vowed I would not spend anymore money on it. But I am glad that I did. Salem Street Car did repairs that others wanted to charge me much more for and they did a good job, at a fair price and quickly! People get really attached to their car repair places. This is ours; has been for years. We trust Dwight and his crew to do quality work for a reasonable price in a timely fashion on all 6 of the family cars.Hopefully you have a similar relationship with your mechanics, but if you do not, these guys are great.

I recently moved and wanted to find a new mechanic near home. A few people suggested Salem st car care center, so when my car wouldn't crank I took it here. I'm happy to say that I've found my local mechanic. Dwight was honest and professional. The car was serviced quickly. What more could one ask for? Thanks for a positive experience!

I was recommended to Salem Street Auto by a friend. Since then I ve brought my older Subaru in for several repairs including brakes, tires and clutch. Always honest and professional. I've had several of my family cars serviced here in various states of repair. New to the area I was worried about finding a good reliable shop. I have some background in auto repair so I know prices and tricks of the trade etc. I have never felt 'ripped off' or pressured into something I didn't really need. I also like that it's not some big chain car repair shop. You talk to Dwight and get a friendly and competent repair at a fair price. What more could you ask for in an auto repair facility?This is my go-to place for all my auto needs. Support local!

I needed my brakes replaced and needed rear shocks replaced as well. They checked it out and replaced both and also said that my rear tires were bad as well. Got all work done for a reasonable price and the customer service is above and beyond any mechanic shop I have ever gone to. Dwight and David are both very nice and informative. Thank you guys for keeping my vehicle in tip top shape and making sure I know what is going on.

Dwight and the crew are amazing! I use to live in Cary and needed a complete brake job. Salem street gave me the best price and didn t try to sell anything I didn t need. I now live about an hour away North of Raleigh but when my AC went out in my truck I went to who I trust and that s Dwight at Salem Street Car Care. I now have a new AC system and I m not joking when I tell you it blows colder and stronger then the day I bought it. I just left their shop maybe 10 minutes ago and I m shivering it s so cold in here. I LOVE IT!! Great shop, outstanding work, with honest and friendly people... you can t ask for anything more. I typically do not write reviews but I had to share what a blessing the Salem Street Car Care Center was to me. I hit my passenger side mirror backing out of my garage when taking my son to school and could not see out of the mirror at all when driving. I immediately drove to the dealership to get it repaired and they quoted me over $700. I m a single mom so vehicle safety is a top priority but I did not have that kind of money. I reached out to Salem Street Car Care Center hoping they could help. When I arrived, the technician was able to fix my vehicle in less than 30 minutes for an unbelievable fraction of the cost the dealership wanted. I cried when I got back to the car because they didn t even realize how much they d blessed me. I highly recommend these guys and will definitely be back! I have been taken advantage of countless times by auto shops and this was honestly the best experience I have ever had. Thank you guys dearly for everything!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I am not one to write reviews but I felt I needed to celebrate great customer service. I find it today's world customer service is severely lacking. Not at Salem Street Car Care Center. Dwight was professional and reasonably priced. He called after the repair to make sure I was satisfied. Even when there was an issue with the repair he did not hesitate to make it right. I would recommend Salem Street Car Care Center to anyone.

First visit would give 5 stars, they gave me a low quote for repairs and got me on the road fast. However, second visit my car broke down, I called and they said tow it here, we will look at it. They never looked at it, was waiting for two days and eventually towed it to another place for an extra tow truck charge, the new shop fixed my car within an hour. Not sure if they were short staff or didn't want to look at my car, but they didn't even want to look or scan my car for issues..it takes maybe 15min

We all know searching for a mechanic especially a trustworthy, honest one is difficult. I was referred to them by my neighbor then found out afterwards another family member uses them. I had a car that suddenly wouldn't stay on. I called them up and it was a reasonable, fair price to get a diagnosis. I received a call back the next day that it was just a small vacuum leak due to something that was not connected properly. We all know any mechanic could have pushed 100 other things wrong with the car that would have created a high bill. Clearly this place is run by honest, quality people. I don't look forward to having car issues again but if I do I will only be taking my vehicles here. I also found out they do inspections so I will be going here for inspections from now on saving me a trip to my usual spot.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic
