If I could give this place negative stars I would. It s truly astounding at how many positive reviews they have after the experience I had with these people. Beyond Rude on the phone, beyond rude in person, shoddy service, and more - all for the price of your entire life savings. I think if someone paid me to go here again I still wouldn t do it. Be warned - this is not the place to get your car fixed!

Very reliable autoshop. I go there for any ailments my baby car has. They always service quickly and do a great job. Entire team is so nice and professional. Thank you Ludlow!!

This place is rip off avoid this place. I went to there to fix flare tyre and they charge me $35.00 for small plug in. Dam that s crazy other places they charge $15-$20.This place is scam. Avoid it.

Took my car in this week for a repair. The first place I took it wanted to charge me 2k to replace that heater core. Ludlow simply cleared the blockage and sent me on my way! They will get my business from now on!

Garage transported from the 80s in a good sense. They get the job done and done well, but customer service isn't their strong suit. So don't expect a beautiful waiting room with tea, coffee and donuts.

Called in advance about NY inspection, was told an inspection takes 15-20 minutes, no appointment, just come any time. I arrived soon after and they said 1-2 cars ahead of me, go around the block or double park or whatever, wait with the car, we'll come get you. 20 minutes later, someone comes out and says 2-3 cars ahead of me, 45 minute wait. I was kind of confused since i was just told otherwise. "Do whatever you want, come back later if you want." I dont have all day, so I ended up leaving. Maybe that's how they're all going to be in Manhattan. I'll go somewhere else. Poor communication and a big waste of my time.

Jerome is one of the most honest, respectful, patient and smart people I ve ever encountered. Full stop. I moved far away from the neighborhood but still take my car to them. They are the best.

My car wouldn t start, and Ludlow Garage told me that it was a battery issue. A few days after getting the battery replaced, I try to turn on the car again, but once again it wouldn t start. I took it to another mechanic, and they pointed out the issue right away. It turns out a rat had chewed through the wires. They showed me the problem, and having looked at it myself, it seemed pretty obvious what the issue was. I m really surprised that Ludlow garage didn t notice it. The problem cost me a full battery replacement plus labor and a battery jump, probably totaling $400 in unnecessary costs.

As a car owner - we are so lucky that we have a shop near us. We can image how hard it is if we do not have one - the city rental is so high and I appreciate they company/shop still able to provide us great service. Thanks you! <3 for being there! I can't say enough good things about Jerome, his son Jeremy, and their team of mechanics. This is a long time Lower East Side, family-run business, with high mechanic skills and a family feel. It's one of the last mechanic shops in lower Manhattan and only blocks from my house. Above all, these guys are honest and have never overcharged me. And we all know how hard it is to find an honest mechanic. Moreover, the work they do is excellent. I take my oversized truck here and they never complain or charge me extra. They even apologized that they had to go over the estimated time by one hour once. And no matter how busy they are (they're very busy,) the shop owner and chief mechanic, Jerome, always takes the time to talk things over and gives me free advice and tips on avoiding having to bring my vehicle in again.The only "bad" thing about this place is that Attorney Street is a narrow one-way and so parking in the mornings when you bring your vehicle in can be stressful. But they actually employ a guy to help you with that, and give you a special permit to park on the street.These guys are very busy, but always so helpful and friendly. The other day Jerome even fixed my check engine light for free. I highly recommend Ludlow Garage. I've been going here for years and won't go anywhere else any more. Their team of friendly mechanics do the best job for the best price. I should mention that I always tip them, since a job well done deserves a little something extra in my opinion. They are worth every penny. Six stars.

Been going their over 30 years. Great mechanics. If you take your car their, be patient. There one of the few independent garages left in the city and they are very busy but do great work.

Still in the neighborhood and still busy. They do a great job with maintenance and repair-they even do state inspections. Appointments are highly recommended. We are lucky to have them in the neighborhood.

I own a 1966 Mustang fastback, and there's no other garage I'd trust to work on her. They really know their stuff, and their prices are very reasonable, plus everyone is friendly. Jerome, the head guy, takes the time to explain things and come up with fixes when there is a tricky issue that needs to be dealt with. So lucky to have them near where I live!

Bought a used car that had been serviced for years at Ludlow. I love the car, but have had to remedy a number of hack jobs that these guys did to the car that had local independent mechanics near me shaking their heads. Thankfully, the car was well built to begin with. Based on what I ve seen they will cut corners left and right. I guess it depends on what you prioritize.

Today, I got a flat tire on the FDR Drive and hobbled over to Ludlow Garage for a tire change. They were super kind and efficient and the price was great. I was in and out faster than expected. A-plus. My only regret is I don t live near the garage for future service. Thank you!!!

Showed up here to get a NY state inspection for my car. It was unclear where to park or leave my car because the street was very crowded. I asked the man working outside where to leave my car and he yelled at me as if I should know. He was extremely rude for no reason. I ve lived in New York City for 12 years so I am used to the sometimes gruff attitudes, but this was totally at another level. Prepare for terrible customer service if you choose to come here.

I tried calling them 3 times over the course of a day. They would not answer the phone, nor do they have a way to leave a message. If you go to their website, it's just a GoDaddy placeholder, so there is apparently no way to contact them without going there.I hoped for the best, and took the car anyway. They acted like I was crazy for showing up without an appointment, even though showing up is apparently the only way to MAKE an appointment. They told me I could not drop the car off until next week. They told me that they are too understaffed to answer the phone. It's probably for the best. I sympathize with the staffing shortage, but leaving my car with a shop that can't be contacted would be foolish.This place may be fine for inspections (what most of the reviews are based on), but don't waste your time trying to get an actual repair done.

Went in for oil change Friday morning and was out fast. I notice they don't log service done on vehicle in computer so Carfax record doesn't show. I had to do it manually.

These guys are great!! My boss has been coming to them for 35 years and although she has not been in a while they recognize her and can name all the car's she has had.In particular, my boss deals with Jerome. He is kind, patient, and truly cares about the owners and their cars. The same can be said for the other employees I have met there.Took the car in to have a flat patched, the oil changed, and a new battery installed. Took about 2.5 hours and cost a little over $300.Prices are fair. They keep a clean waiting room and there's a deli around the corner if one needs a snack while waiting.Best car shop I have ever been to!

If any one reading the reviews please read through the lowest rating as well so you may avoid some un-pleaseant experience at Ludlow Garage. I don't usually write reviews negatively but this one i need to so that the society around is aware of bad services. Recap : Wrong coolant filled in, Appointment given for today and then they cancelled my appointment when i called in to double check. Owner was rude over phone when i asked if i can speak to the manager yelling he is the owner. Front desk person was super rude and supporting what ever owner says which was different than what was told the day before. I lost trust with Ludlow Garage after being their customer recently.
