Someone hit our car while it was parked on the street. The car subsequently stopped starting & we had to have AAA tow it. The guy that came to tow was very professional & quick. We had them take a look at it & from the start felt safe in their hands. Kevin kept me in the loop the entire time. He was reasonable, transparent & accurate with time & costs. They fixed the car and had it looking like new in 2 weeks! The detail people really deliver! Rich got us settled up with payment & pick up & was very helpful! I look forward to using this shop in the future & I definitely recommend. Thanks again!

Criminal. Charged 3k to someone trapped in New York for a starter. Two new batteries. Only changed one battery. Car made it home. The next day it won t run again.I appreciate the response. almost a month later and no one can figure why it never ran again after you guys had it. But hey it ran long enough to drive home.This car still doesn t run. And AAA won t honor the warranty to cover the initial cost.

Very skilled mechanic tested battery, ETC to see if other problems starting engine. Gave me good information about their guarantees for 24 months on work done. Glad I found them or rather they found me. Sent by AAA.

worst experience of my life. Triple A towed my car to their lot. The shop charged me a lump sum of money because triple A brought it there when I didnt consent to it being brought there in the first place. The shop wouldnt let me leave, and essentially locked my car in their garage until I paid them cash. Then when I requested another tow, the man holding my car accepted it (they partner with triple A) so I would have to wait but had no intention of towing my car to my house. He just accepted it so I would have to wait and someone else wouldnt accept the job. Incredibly spiteful. I filed a formal complaint with triple A. Horrid staff. Avoid at all costs.

"I am writing to warn others about the unscrupulous practices of [54th Auto center]. Unfortunately, I had the misfortune of dealing with this company when my car broke down on the side of the road. They promised to tow my car to a nearby mechanic, but instead, they took it to their own yard and demanded an exorbitant fee for the tow.When I tried to negotiate, they became aggressive and threatened to up. clear that they were trying to scam me, and I was left feeling frustrated and helpless.I strongly advise against using [54th Auto center ] for any towing needs. Their business practices are unethical, and they will take advantage of you when you're most vulnerable. Look elsewhere for a reputable and honest tow comp it helps wacompany!

Pricey but they get the job done. Wish they could be neater. My car was returned with spray paint overspray on the side in addition to a rear seat belt malfunction that they caused.

I was stranded in NYC. This company came with 15 min and rescued me out traffic. Cristian was excellent guy who provided the service quickly and professionally and drove me back to Jersey safe and sound. I highly recommend Cristian as a top notch service provider for this company.

I was involved in an automobile accident on November 10th and I called 54th Street Auto. Not only did they come right on time, but they also took excellent care of me. They made sure I was ok and they took my car over the weekend as it was a Saturday. The autobody technician, Nick, called me first thing Monday morning and assured me that I would be more than satisfied with the results. I have to say- I WAS COMPLETELY SHOCKED with how AMAZING my car looked. Not only was the job done on-time, they went ABOVE AND BEYOND. They detailed the inside of my car, they fixed things without me asking, they changed my windshield wipers, replaced light bulbs, I mean I've NEVER Experienced such great services in my entire LIFE!!!!! If you have any autobody work needs, Please, Please, Please, go to 54th Street Auto- THEY ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!! I GUARANTEE IT!!

These guys responded via my Lexus Roadside Assistance (AAA) in NYC within an hour and had me back on the road shortly thereafter!! Why I love New Yorkers!! Thanks guys!

Just had car inspection today. These guys are prompt and professional. Price is great too. 37 dollars for inspection - who can beat that? Highly recommended.

DO NOT bring your car here unless you are absolutely desperate, or have no issues with getting robbed blind. $260.00 part, but charged over $600, $340 in labor???? Bunch of thieves. Never again.

I caught a flat on my way to the tunnel. I called AAA and was towed to 54th. I thought I was going to have to wait for a long time. Because it wasn't scheduled. Fortunately, I only waited a very short time before one of the Gentlemen, Nelson, started working on the car. He took extra time to find solutions as to why the tire was loosing air. He finally figured it out but since he couldn't fix the "Special" tire that day or order one because it was late and i needed to get home, so he put the donut on for me and sent me on my way. But what I really liked was that they were caring, very concerned about my will being, and made sure I was safe. I made it home. I'd definitely go there again if I have the choice. Was driving from Indiana to NYC when I realized my starter was kaput. Called 54th Street Auto and took our pickup in early the next morning. Diagnosed that it was indeed the starter and installed genuine Ford starter by the end of the day for $850 (they are in the middle of Manhattan after all).Everyone was very friendly and I appreciated them getting the job done same day without an appointment. Tight fit for that starter! Thanks guys!

Came here for an inspection and they tried to upsell me on a ton of unnecessary maintenance, when all I needed was new tires. Quoted me $490 for those. Got them replaced elsewhere for less than half that within 30 minutes, returned for the follow up, and they said they couldn t see me for two weeks. Clearly retribution for not getting their service. Go somewhere else if you can.

AAA said a 3hr wait. The driver came in 30 min. A little pricey on hourly labor but genuinely friendly and transparent. Brad was a very good listener and a respected manager in the office. Car fixed in 2 hrs. A car wash included.

I went here for an oil change within the last year, because I moved to Manhattan and needed a place closer to my new apartment. Based on the Google reviews I thought they were trust worthy (do yourself a favor and go read their Yelp reviews). After they had my car for the oil change, they called me with a laundry list of things that also needed to be fixed (around $600 worth), I declined because I wanted to get a second opinion. To which I did and none of those things were wrong. I vowed to never go there again. Fast forward a year and I needed an inspection and I was leaving town, so I thought "What could go wrong". Against my better judgment, I went back and once again they called me due to a check engine light that was on and they wanted to run a $190 diagnostic to see what was wrong... I thought that to be very strange because there was no light on when I dropped the car off.. I told them no and I went to pick up the car (no light on 20 minutes later when I got there either). I went to my old mechanic in Brooklyn and low and behold there was nothing wrong with the engine, no light or anything. It feels like this place tries to prey on people they think don't know anything so I would just beware and go somewhere else.Service: Oil change

WORST place ever. Their driver hit my car and they refuse to give me any insurance information. Also said they would call me back over 3 times and never did. Then they want to claim that their driver said he did not hit me when he did and he drove off not stopping to exchange information. Definitely would not recommend even doing business with these people.Since you can't respond to google reviews I have to edit my response to reply. It was in fact your tow truck that hit my car and when I called you guys told me I was lying so you guys are unethical and need to hire better people to run your business to handle situations like these.

Both my battery and starter went out at once. AAA towing came to my rescue right away. Once they took my vehicle on a Flat bed to the shop I received a call to inform me about pricing and other details. Once at the shop the mechanics and team were able to get the parts in and fix it within 24hr hours. Very Impressive.I ultimately had an outstanding experience with Brad and his team. There were able to take care of my vehicle and guaranteed their work. I'm very pleased with the customer service, communication , and pricing.If you like your car to perform above the rest, with no mess, then this is your place.

I had a great experience at the 54th Street Auto Center. My car was towed there after calling AAA. I had a problem with my insurance company at the outset and Kevin was patient and very helpful in getting it resolved. In addition to excellent customer service, they are clearly very knowledgeable and experienced and were able to diagnose the problem with my car right away. They did excellent work and returned my car to me cleaner than it has been in years! I also very much appreciated that they offer late hours so I was able to pick my car up in the late evening after I finished work.

An honest and competent auto shop does exist in Manhattan. Kevin and the crew were helpful, upfront, and shared the information I needed to make a sound decision on my car's repairs. The work was done quickly, at a reasonable price (for NYC) and I wasn't pushed into things I didn't need. This place is amazing!! They did some auto body work on my corporate car and it was pure perfection. They completed the work rather quickly and so I brought my personal car here and they really took care of me. Ask for Nick he is the best!!! He really communicates with you and the insurance company to get things done efficiently and timely. Thank you to all at 54th st auto! The whole staff was great! My new go to!Service: Body & Trim

I just needed a place I could trust, and popped into this place (after vetting at least 5 other places). Immediately Nick, the owner, met me and checked out my car which had been side swiped.The process was seamless between him, myself, and all of the insurance requirements. I was able to contact Nick directly to check in on the timeline and any updates which was great and he was really on my side when it came to negotiating with the insurance agents.I was given accurate expectations about what to plan on time-wise and he was able to complete the job beyond my expectations. I definitely wasn't told by the other places I checked out, that there was structural damage that was going to need to be fixed.They took care of it all and he worked with my schedule to when I needed it picked up by. I'm appreciative of Nick and the shop for the detail they added- the van looked better than it ever had when I got it back.Hopefully won't need them again, but if I do they'll be my only option.

I came in on a front passenger tire flat with 8yr old tires. Everyone was Awesome!KEVIN at the front desk provided excellent information & HONEST service!Nick provided Friendly & Professional Service reminiscent 30yrs ago, when we where polite because it was the norm. Rudy the gentlemen who actually replaced all 4 tires, fixed a badly damaged rim, replaced my spare, and washed the car! Amazing service from everyone. As a 48yr old woman I would highly recommend this Auto ctr to everyone, especially women, they will Assist and Not Take Advantage!
