Stayed here for the weekend when I had a wedding to go to in the area. It was one of the most relaxing mini vacations I've ever been on. Beds and pillows were very comfy, and the room was very cozy. There was a fireplace in our cabin, which was very nice seeing whereas it was fairly cold at night. There was also the option of turning the heater on, but the fireplace was more than efficient. They are also pet friendly if you are looking to bring your furry friend. The restaurant is closed so you have to make other plans for your meals. The room does have a microwave, mini fridge, toaster, and a coffeemaker. Can't wait to go back!Nearby activities: There are many activities in this area that span from hiking to fishing to biking, to kayaking. A short trip by car to travel to the top of Whiteface Mountain. Santa's village and the North Pole are great for those with small children.

Man we enjoyed our stay here. The knotty pine makes it very cozy and the good beds and really good shower back it up. It's rustic yet modern without being too modern. And it's close to anything you might want to do in the area. We love ADK cabins.Nearby activities: Whiteface Mountain, High Falls Gorge, Ausable Chasm, Lake Placid, Jay covered bridge, hiking, paddling, fishing

We needed a place to stay that night and we booked it here hours before check in. The owners gave us our code and our cabin was ready for us!! Super grateful for how it turned out. The cabin we had was perfect for one night. It was big and super warm even when it was 10 degrees out all day. No drafts either. The shower and water was very warm too. Good size bathroom. There was a microwave and fridge and couch. There are a bunch of other cabins too and it was such a neat place. Felt like we were in the middle of no where but maybe because it was just winter!! However it was very safe and quiet. Would definitely go back to see how it is in the summer or to get a bunch of cabins with friends / couples so you each have your own individual place. Some of the cabins are bigger or smaller or have more appliances than others. Would recommend

Reservation was simple to make. Price was reasonable. We stayed in the Balsam cabin. The bed was comfy and it was very quite. We enjoyed a nice relaxing night. Having the fireplace adds the perfect setting for cuddling with wine, or hot chocolate. One downfall was that the shower knob was stripped and it was very difficult to adjust the water temp. Will be a place to stay again.

This review is for the cabin stay not the restaurant. Absolutely loved our weekend getaway here. The cabin was very cozy, well equipped and very (!) clean. The fireplace was awesome, perfect for chilly fall nights. The check-in and check-out service was great & contact less (much appreciated during covid times). The stuff was very attentive and accommodating. The location is great too, 15 mins away from lake placid and 5 min drive to Whiteface Mountain.Would recommend this place.

These cabins could be great, unfortunately the owners don't keep them up and don't respond to issues while you're there. We stayed in spruce, primarily for the full kitchen. The oven/stove didn't work and neither did the heat when we arrived. Yann and Robert knew about the over/stove but didn't bother to inform us. Therefore our planned food couldnt be cooked and was wasted. They did provide a hot plate that was too small to use with their pots/pans and there was no place to set it. Furthermore, the porch steps weren't nailed down and I went flying. I get that things happen, but I received no response from my texts/calls/pictures regarding the issues we had. They clearly don't care about the level or service they provide. We'll be staying somewhere else next time we travel to Wilmington.

Been coming to Wilderness inn every fall since 2010. Under management of previous owners. Absolutely loved the food and service.Proposed to my wife there in Oct. 2019.prior to transition.New owners took over went back for anniversary dinner 2020. Made reservations 2 days before our 5 hour drive. Showed up for dinner. They said we have no reservations listed. And could not serve us. Too busy!! Spoke with owner and was extremely rude didn't offer us a drink or anything. The hostess actually called me a liar and told me to leave. Even after showing the phone call made to them 2 days prior. Best of luck staying in business with that attitude.

Booking was excellent. Great prices! Very welcoming; they left the light on for us. Contactless check-in. Very well appointed. Comfortable beds. Wonderful little sitting area. Shower had great heat and water pressure. Fireplace was a cute detail. Had electric heat too. Quiet location. Very close to 2 great restaurants in wilmington, Santa's workshop, Whiteface and lake placid. Can't wait to stay again in the fall!

Awesome location, just a few minutes away from whiteface mountain. Cabins are nice and cozy but there are a few things that could be worked on. First off we stayed in the balsam cabin, the shower knob is almost completely broken so it pretty much impossible to change the water temperature. The other thing is that the fire place is way too small for any of the wood they provide. Other than that this place is 100% recommend.

I will preface that on the night we went they had a large dinner party and so I understand that they were overwhelmed. And while I am willing to overlook subpar service the food unfortunately was a huge disappointment. I ordered shrimp cocktail and the shrimp had clearly been pre-frozen and they were very small. I ordered blackened salmon and the string beans were clearly from a can! My bf order meat and it was tasteless and overcooked. I am writing this review in hopes they improve the quality of their food because the atmosphere was wonderful, the people kind, but the food really needs improvement.

Always enjoy eating here, really like the salad bar and the seafood. If you're into steaks they make great steaks. The Waitresses here are awesome very kind and considerate and make sure you're taken care of. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious you can't go wrong to spend an evening here for your dinner. And as a bonus they have all types of pictures of actors from Years Gone by. You might even recognize some of them!!! Well-run restaurant top notch.

This is a beautiful, rustic without roughing it, cabin accommodation in Wilmington. A huge thank you to Michelle and Yann-I informed them it was our third wedding anniversary and they gifted us a bottle of wine to celebrate! We also were offered an extra night at a special reduced rate which we took advantage of to extend our long weekend stay. Both of these thoughtful gestures helped set this inn apart from others in a big way.The cabin interior was perfect for us - two very comfortable queen beds, spacious living area with sofa plus a large table, large bathroom and little kitchen type area with a roomy mini fridge, microwave and keurig coffee maker(with dunkin k cups, sugar and cream). The cabins are located a good distance from the road, with ample space between each unit- so you feel like you have the place to yourself. All are surrounded by beautiful large pines which creates the feeling of being immersed in nature without being far from the amenities in town. The wood burning fireplace in the living area was so lovely, we made good use of it during the cold nights. Firewood is available on site. Rates are very reasonable, even during a holiday weekend. The location is convenient to both the town of Wilmington, Whiteface Memorial highway, Whiteface mountain resort and Lake Placid is about 12 minutes away for additional dining and shopping needs. If you are looking for a quaint, comfortable, wooded and private accommodation in Wilmington, this is the best place in the area.We will be coming back to stay in the winter for some snowboarding at nearby Whiteface! Thank you so much Yann and Michelle for helping make our anniversary getaway special. See you again soon.

The place is fantastic. The place is great the only thing is the restaurant is shut down not to easy to find places you have to go 40 mins away to eat. Most of the cabin have a kitchen but smaller ones don't. A thought of adding a hot plate and a kitchen sink. So we don't have to wash in the bathroom sink. Small fixes here and there but would not change much there. If your going to get away from life and unplug this place is great.

Ideally, I'd give it 4-4.5 stars, but I never sell a family operation short unless it's so earned. The food was decent, and resort priced; as is everything in the Olympic region. They were willing and able to take our party of 13 at very short notice when our own resort wouldn't. The salad bar is not huge, but it is included and adequate. The desserts were well sized and thought out. Worth the price. The atmosphere is rustic and quaint. Everybody was friendly.

We were pleasantly surprised by this cabin. It was small but enough room for two adults, two older kids and a dog. Very cozy fireplace for those chilly summer nights. Very easy check in and out. Close to Lake Placid and tons of hiking and fishing. We would definitely stay again.

This is gem in Wilmington, NY! I was in town to hike the Adirondacks and saw this inn/restaurant/bar while driving down the street. Their specialty is steaks. I tried the primary rib in their daily special. All their dinners could access to the salad bar. The salad bar was pretty good and had multiple salad options/toppings! kids loved it! The bread they served us with was even amazing, soft and warm, the best bread I tried in past few years. absolutely recommend this restaurant for its delicious food, diverse menu, reasonable prices and friendly service.

Amazing location, cozy cabins, great communication with the owner and great value. So close to whiteface and not far at all from downtown Lake Placid, we will definitely be staying again next time we re in the area.

Sat night. One waitress, no clue about the menu. Took forever(20 mins) for waitress to come over, only 2 people in restaraunt. Overpriced food. Steak over cooked, complained, waitress said" yeah, the cook thought he over cooked it" and sent it out anyways. Salad bar was very weak, limited items. Coleslaw was great. Salmon was dry. Will never go back. Save your money. Honest review. I never post bad reviews, but this place was not good. Jamie

Food, service, ambience and clientele are all excellent. Prices are a little high for the Adirondack region, but it's well worth it because the food is actual fresh ingredients, not pre-packaged and warmed. Beware though, they don't take American Express... and I didn't see it noted anywhere... clearly at least... it may have been a fine print thing.

Very nice Adirondack setting...meal was ok...my wife's food was perfect but I ordered a king cut steak. medium. and it came out very well done and tough. Will give it another chance. The staff was very friendly and the rest of the meal was very good.

Update: Their response freely admits they are welcoming guests with known COVID exposure to stay in their cabins, wander the grounds, and dine in their restaurant. This should upset you.Possibly exposed to COVID a week before my vacation. Cancelled my stay as a courtesy to the guests and staff at the cabins. After the cancellation they decide to tell me they refuse to refund my $465 stay. A credit was offered. When I stated if only a credit was available I prefer to keep my reservation they refused. They have stolen $465.
