Always a beautiful place to visit. It's got some of the most easily accessible, beautiful views of the ADK Park.Be ready to either wait in a cold tunnel to access the single elevator, or be ready to hike up a steep set of "Stairs" to get to the top or bottom.Either way, it is worth the trip to the top.

4600 feet above sea level, incredible views. In the fall there's usually a 30 minute wait to get in the gate, only one person processing payments. $20 per person. Beautiful drive up the mountain, which there another 30 minute wait for parking. Worth the wait.

Amazing views well worth the toll and drive up. Busy place but plenty of room for all. Military discount at the toll booth for Veterans Memorial Highway.Castle at the top of the road with a gift shop inside and a food truck outside. You can hike up from the parking lot or walk into the mountain and take the elevator up.Views at the top are amazing when clear. 360 degree views. Photo ops all over.

AMAZING VIEWS!!Best I ve seen!Beautiful drive up and reminds me of Colorado.Worth the price of admission. My tips! There are several flies near the summit. Black flies. They will bite and they left me bleeding. Several. So if you visit between may-early June. There will be flies. Bug spray did not help!!Wear grippy shoes! Some rocks can be very slippery! The hike to the summit is not even and you should be fit to make the trek. Tons of up and down! However the views were great! Even on a slightly hazy day!

This is a great road to take up to the top of the Whiteface mountain. Only open in the summer and early fall and closes around 430pm so timing has to be early. Cost was $20 per person so be aware. Good for dogs. Easy drive up and down. The hike up to the mountain top is a mix of steps and rocks and very steep. But there is a very interesting elevator that can Take you up and down (no dogs) with a cool tunnel entry way. Views fro. The top are spectacular. Driving tip: Switch to low gear for better driving control I stead of riding the brakes.

No arguing that the views are beautiful but the price is ridiculous. We were on motorcycles, $20 per bike and drive and an additional $20 for the passenger. The black flies were horrendous at the toll house but we figured they couldn't be that bad at the top. Wrong. The elevator to the peak was not operating. You could take the trail up but due to the black flies that was impossible. Got halfway up the trail and turned around. If you arrive at the toll house and the files are bad don't bother going up. We were there June 2.

it is a great 360 degree nature view, after parking, you still need to walk some stair and rock to reach the highest point, not hard to find parking, you can buy food from food truck if hungry,it has few spot to stop car on the way uphill,

What an amazing spot for sightseeing in nature! We went early in the morning so we weren t too crowded heading up the mountain at all. The hike up is definitely worth it if you enjoy picturesque nature views! Staff was very friendly and helpful with any of your questions etc! The food truck at the base of the hike is really pricey and over rated so either eat before or bring your own food!

The most breathtaking view ever!! You drive up feeling like you re going into the clouds and when you get on the mountain it is an experience like no other! The views are once in a life time. There s a house with bathrooms, food, a heater, and a gift shop. Plenty of parking. They have mountain safety which is nice. You are skipping the hike yet there is a little bit of a climb to actually reach the summit. It is a little scary if you re scared of heights. The rocks are not even and it can be a little slippery or unstable. Probably takes 15 minutes to get to the top. It is so worth it!!! Can quickly spend an hour on the top looking in the distance, climbing on the rocks, and taking pictures. Yes it is $20 a person which is expensive especially if you have a family so they should definitely look into decreasing the price or have a discount.

They will sent people up there even when obvious that weather won't permit get to the top. No rain checks nor money back. Paying for each passenger plus car end up paying $130..

This place was great!!!! Warming the air is thin! I hit the gym 5 days a week and I was gassed immediately when starting up the trail to the summit, so take the elevator if u have little ones or seniors or joint issues. Yes there is an elevator In a mountain!!!! I know right! We bought a passport that gave us access to 5 attractions (do it over the weekend, not in one day) The views are bananas

Drove up to Whiteface moutain. It's touristy up there but a nice drive if you have nothing else going on. Paid a twenty dollar fee to drive to the top. Don't forget to take the elevator to the top or walk of the nature trail.

Incredible views from the top. Pick a good weather day or it will be a waste of your time. On a good day you can see the Montreal skyline.

I don't want to be negative here so I will say that the guy at the toll house was super friendly and helpful and the views were excellent. But really, aren't all views from the top of a mountain excellent? I do not think it is worth the $20 per person feel. There are many just as spectacular mountain top views free in Vermont. There is no fee for the Rocky Mountains or the Cabot Trail. So, view nice, but price for a family way too high. Your decision.

The walk to the summit of whiteface was probably the highlight of my trip to the area . But $20 per person including kids is way too steep.

Views are great, but $20 per car/driver and additional $20 per person is outrageous. They don t post any signage about prices until you are about to drive up to the pay booth which is garbage imho. This is the best example of a tourist trap. Beware.

Such a beautiful drive up and adventure walking to the summit. Be sure to wear good hiking shoes and be prepared for the rock pathway. It literally will take your breath away. I don't think small children should be taking the path up.

It s a very beautiful attraction..only reason I didn t give five stars is that the elevator is always out of order. Very inconvenient if you have a disabled person wanting to get to the top. Which I am pretty sure that was one of the intentions of the founders that everyone should get to experience the top.

Very disappointed to come all this way just to find the venue closed down. Your website clearly lists the days and times.Sadly this is not so.

Beautiful view but, forget it for this year it's now 20$ per person and everything is closed up there! No elevator, no water, no toilets to the top ? It's time invest and built stairway and catwalks for this expensive experience!

To save someone else the time, the clearance to the park is 8 . We waited in line for an hour to get to the toll to pay the enormous fees, only to find out AT THE TOLL that we couldn t get in. No way around it. No warning signs posted anywhere. When we asked them they said they didn t have enough help to post signs. It s just common sense to post the clearances far in advance. National parks, which are MUCH CHEAPER, post them well in advance of entrances. Very disappointing.

I thought it was awesome. I was riding my motorcycle and had to focus on the yellow lines so I didn't have a panic attack on the way up...so crazy!

Thanks to Jim Catalfamo's review. I was able to find out about the toll for the Whiteface Highway. The toll house is open 8:45 am to 5:30 pm on May 24 until October 14. Before you go to the mountain, make sure you check the weather and use the bathroom! There are only portable bathrooms at the toll house and the top of the mountain. This is my first time visiting the top of a mountain by driving, but I thought it was really nice of them to let us know about the temperature, wind speed, and visibility at the summit. For those who are curious, I went there when it was 50 degrees, 5-20 mph wind, and 70 miles visibility. I drove up when it was mostly sunny and partly cloudy. The view up there is pretty clear and amazing, it wasn't that cold in my opinion since it was sunny and I was climbing up to the Whiteface Observation Tower.

Stunningly expensive. View might be worth it, but we passed on 40$ for a scenic spot. I pay 40$ for an entire national park, and even then it at least goes to conservation.

Quite expensive. Web site is deceptive about cost. Driver is $20 AND SO IS 2nd passenger - so $40 a couple. Then the elevator was out of service and the gift shop was closed. So what the $40 was for is beyond me. But the view at the top was breath taking.

Paid $20 at the entrance only to turn directly around once on top because the black flies are literally all over you.... Literally millions. Like a horror show.
