According to Westchester County Code, a $65 maximum booting charge can be levied for parking in a private lot, which I did so legitimately with a trip to SmashBurger.I was booted, yelled at by the first tow driver (who never called me when reaching out to posted number for RJT) and proceeded demanded cash of $162.50, no change. To get this I had to arrange a drive to my home for a debit card and bank and back to the premises ($20 in gas?). Let me add this is on a Sunday morning (see other reviews) and against the onsite signs that warn of "overnight" parking; not doing business in the lot and then getting a $162.50 "fee." The towing company will blame the owner of the premises for their business practices and that it is a commuter lot (on a Sunday?); complete with spotter in a black pickup truck that placed the boot about five minutes after we left the car according to their NOTICE, which was back dated by a day, perhaps to evade the Westchester County law on maximum fines? Been a resident for many years doing business at many places in this mall and otherwise, first time I will be going to small claims court and filing State/Cty inquiries into their practices due to a non-resolution of these complaints.

This place has my husband's car in the shop for 2 going on 3 days now. Just needed flat tires changed. The shop has been closed during business hours. We can not get in contact with anybody. We call and people just hang up.This is westchester we need a car to get around. Especially on the weekends. Tow truck driver John has been the only one we talked to and saw. What kind of business are these people running? He was not made aware of anything. Had to call in to get any information. To be hung up on several times.

Very respectful customer service.I popped my tire near their shop and decided to give them a try. I was very happy because they attend to me as fast as possible. When they evaluated my tire they gave me options of a new tire or a used tire. I took the used tire because it was already there and available. It was very affordable too. My favorite thing I liked was they gave me a time estimate and we're done in no time. It's great to see that I can come in with a resentful manner and receive that respect back.

HORRIBLE! RUDE! IGNORANT! MONEY GRUBBERS!They'll tell AAA that they are on the way and be there is 15minutes to half hour...then they tell AAA more LIES about their arrival times. AAA needs to stop dealing with these "reply to every tow call" placed that either won't or don't get to your members in any decent amount of time. As a matter of fact, I got a call from the "dude" who was supposed to pick up my car...that they are busy with tows, blah, blah, blah, and he's had a previous tow on his on his truck since noon.REALLY!?...then that means someone's car has not been taken to where it should have gone for over 8 hours.Sounds like a monopolytow company by shutting out other tow companies that are quite capable of towing. This company has been doing this to people, and showing poor towing practices for over 14 years according!!!!!Don't use these folks, AND neither should AAA give them any business by subjecting their members to this garbage.ZERO stars if I could give that.My reply to your reply: Not according to AAA. Your company was the original one that stated you would be there at or by 6:28pm. We NEVER heard from you until AAA reps kept trying to reach you you" and you finally called back to tell me that our almost 2hr wait was going to be 30-40minutes longer. STOP trying to make it seem like it wasn't your towing business!!I hope there is NEVER another time I ever have to deal with your business. BTW: It was as DRY as a chip on Monday afternoon so stop with the excuses for your bad business practices!!WILL NEVER RECCOMEND YOU!

I cannot speak more highly of the two tow truck drivers sent to my apartment (via AAA) to help get my husband's dead Jeep out of the garage. They were both so patient and helpful, even with the heat and the difficultly encountered getting the vehicle just out of the spot, never mind the garage. This was especially meaningful since my husband had been sick for awhile and had two transplants four months ago and wasn't able to contribute much physically. It was tricky, but they didn't give up and problem solved it to a happy resolution. I truly appreciate the gentlemen sent to help us today. I would highly recommend them!

This place is garbage. Engine randomly shut off, I call AAA, they send me RJT. After explaining what would have to be done to diagnose my car, I told Ray to NOT do anything and that I was going to call AAA and have it towed to Long Island. He seemed fine with that when we hung up, I spoke to him a few minutes later to update him and he had informed me that AAA already gave them the call to be dispatched. 3 days later and multiple phone calls to both RJT and AAA, car finally arrives at 8PM. Turns out he charged me $127 for doing work I asked him NOT to do, an additional $50 for tolls, AND the car was in parts! I paid $177 to have my car dismantled! This guy is a crook! STAY AWAY!

I almost passed them by after reading a few bad reviews. I called John and told him I was going elsewhere. He said we do a fair and honest business . I decided to give him a chance.Glad I did. My Rover was repaired (brake issue) in 24 hours and cost 1/3 of what the dealer would ve charged me. They also did the inspection on my vehicle and repaired an issue I was having with the brake light (which my mechanic could not resolve). Bad reviews are easy to come by good ones are not as easy. I give them two thumbs up.You will too.Service: Brakes

I am SO happy with my visit to RJT, I have never left a Google review before now. I got towed there around 4:00 PM, their website said they closed at 5:30, and STILL they were committed to calling local places to find tires for me and put them on that afternoon so I didn t have to be stranded in White Plains for the night. Probably got out of there around 5:45 with two new front tires to fix the flat I got, plus a bad snow tire that was causing me problems. I didn t realize how much my car rattled when driving bc of that tire, but now I drive a silent car and it s crazy!!Cost me $400 for a tow and two tires. Considering the emergency nature and how willing they were to help, I m more than happy to pay that price. (Disclaimer: I don t know how much this stuff usually costs and would ve paid whatever they told me it would take)The only sketchy thing was that the tow driver kept trying to steer me away from other closer mechanics and get towed to the AAA service station instead, which ended up just being RJT. I don t know. Felt a little strange that they had to be slightly sneaky like that, but whatever, they did a great job and I really don t care. I respect the hustle of trying to get more customers, captive or not Tow truck driver was super friendly, talked about his garden and his new tesla.Final point: the mechanic had great hair. Made me feel like the 1950s having a greaser with slicked hair work on my car. Not too many mechanics nowadays are devoted to that kind of cool lifestyle, definite bonus points for RJT.Service: Tires

John and crew are professional, reliable, and trustworthy mechanics. Dealt with my insurance company well, did great work, and are always polite and responsive. We chose RJT based on my father-in-law's recommendation (he has been going to this shop for decades) and this shop has now officially earned my loyalty.

I wished I had read the reviews prior to having my vehicle towed there! RJT are overpriced!! I had a flat tire (a nail was stuck in the tire) and called AAA for service. The driver said he would take it to RJT, which is a AAA shop, and they could plug and patch the hole. I got there around 5pm. After waiting there until 5:45pm I asked the price for the plug and patch. They told me THE PRICE IS $49. I said sir, that is crazy, a plug and patch is no more than $20 at most. I even pulled it up on the internet (which showed the average price to be between $10-$25) and show him that he was ripping me off. Hell, a used tire is $50. At this point, it was 14 minutes to 6pm and all other places were about to close. I had to pay the price in order to get me and my child home, but I DO NOT recommend this place to ANYONE!!Service: Tires

Worked on my 20 year old Grumman diesel truck with a one of a kind alternator. I broke down 50 miles from home. They contacted a rebuilder, got the part and got me on the road. Pricey; not their fault I guess, but I still got sticker shock. They offer rides if you have to leave your vehicle. Friendly staff. They explained the work and cost clearly. This is NOT your local oil change repair shop, but they can. If you have a problem that your basic service facility can't handle, give them a call. They know their stuff.

Called AAA, got towed for a flat tire and was highly recommended to go to RJT by the Tow Truck Driver. After getting dropped off, I waited over 2 hrs to get a quote on a new tire. RJT is understaffed and under qualified to be servicing cars as well as provide any decent customer service. I got charged $245 for one new tire! There were hidden charges in my itemized receipt and the owner Ray was nothing but rude and unprofessional towards myself and other customers. I hope that no one ever goes to this establishment ever again, and go through what I had to suffer from today. Worst experience of my life hands down.

What a disaster. When I see all of the other reviews I now know why. My gut said not to use them after being towed by AAA, but I did not listen. They received the car on 7/24. We picked up the car for the first time on 8/1. This is after many, many days where they could not find the problem and did not contact me once. Finally, they thought they found the problem, fixed it and we picked up the car on 8/1. Two days later the car stopped running on the Taconic Parkway. We could not use AAA and had to have it towed by the company who had the Taconic Parkway contract which does not accept AAA. I asked RJT if they wanted it towed to their station and if they would pay for it. They said yes . The first day they tried to fix it with no luck. The second and third day the only guy who could fix the car was out. I received no phone calls from updating me at any time throughout this debacle. On 8/8 we go to pick up the car and they refused to reimburse me for the towing. I left the car there and I told them they would hear from my attorney.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Please do not come here. Car broke down and had to be towed here per Triple A's recommendation. Car took over a week to fix up and the original quote the owner Ray said was $400. Somehow the price doubled when I went to pick up my car. What a rip off. They charge you $40 for "putting anti-freeze" in your car, when my car was already filled with anti-freeze.Will be filing a consumer complaint at the bureau. Also, some shady stuff going on. They only take cash and no credit card. Will also be filing an IRS report.

On 9/27/2021 my 2010 GL Mercedes was not able to start. The truck was towed to RJT mechanic at white plains. On 9/29/21, john the manager called and stated difficulties to locate the problem. I told him since you are not familiar with Mercedes Benz to tow the truck to Mercedes company near him. He insisted to fix the truck. On Friday, 10/1/21 he asked me to pick my truck that it was fixed. I took the truck home and the next day the truck could not start. I call John today, 10/4/2021 being Monday , my truck could not start. He wants me to bring the truck and to charge me again for diagnostics after paying him almost $1,400.00 . The last time it took RJT mechanic two days for diagnostics. Please if you have a foreign truck don't go to RJT mechanic. What a reap off!!Service: Electrical repair

I could not be more pleased with the professionalism and excellent service I have received from RJT Motorist Services.Once me car was towed in by their very congenial driver, RJT's team took over, advising me of all the options that were available to me. I was able to make an informed choice before I gave my approval for any began. As the work progressed, I was given periodic updates by John in the office. Once completed, my car looked and performed just as well as it ever had before the accident. On top of that, there was an issue with my insurance company that I thought was going to cost me a great deal of time to resolve. When I picked up my car (which had also been thoroughly cleaned), a check was waiting for me, presented to me by the owner, Ray. He had gone the extra distance to solve the problem for me.The extra effort and pride that the entire RJT shop exudes will cause me to come back as often as I need in the future because I trust them. For the same reason, I will continue to recommend them highly for the expertise they continue to put forward.A very pleased customer,Philip Hostetter

Went 2 them instead of dealer for my Jeep- it's running perfectly for about the price quoted by the dealer... RJT advised that some of the work suggested by Jeep wouldn't be necessary to fix my issue & they were right. So paid less $, they were very pleasant/easy to deal w & car is running gr8. Very happy w outcome.

RJT. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.I had a bad battery from AAA still under warranty. They told me, no, it's not bad, you just need a charge - $50. Ok, steep price for a charge, but whatever. I come back and the bill is $100, because "we had to charge it twice." ...FINE, here's my card. "Cash only. There's the ATM." Needless to say, the ATM charges a fee of $5 for every withdrawal.A week later, the battery is once again dead. I take it to my trusted mechanic, and sure enough, he tests it and finds that it's bad - RJT cheated me out of my AAA battery warranty.AAA, your White Plains vendor is a crook. Everyone else, do yourself a favor and stay away.

Car was stranded in white plains they were the only tow service available for my circumstance. The people were helpful ray is very nice. Didn't understand the pricing. Have to pay $950 and car still not fixed, they charge $150 per hour I believe. At least I know what's wrong to pay someone else to fix and still have to get car towed back to CT!

I would caution one and all to stay away from this business. There are many other auto/mechanic shops around that have much higher ratings and do not tell lies to get customers to utilize their business. As for the actual work on the car that seems to be done well (three weeks later and no issues thank goodness.) The work was not the issue it was being sold a bill of goods time and time again that ended up costing my family five extra hours in a car and cast a partial black cloud over a joyous weekend.Friday January 13th we were heading to Brooklyn when I lost control of the car and knew we needed to call AAA. RJT Motorists were the ones who responded to the call. We told them we wanted it towed to Newtown to a garage my sister usesand told the driver it was 85 an hour for labor there. He said they were close to that if we towed to RJT we would be the first one to be looked at Saturday morning and would be fixed that next day. As it was almost 10 pm and the driver told us he was supposed to work till 10 we believed what he had told us and tried to do him a solid as bringing the car up to Newtown would have added at least 2 hours on to his night.-RJT Motorists charge 110 an hour for service. The driver, who has worked for them for over a year should know full well what their price per hour is and he blatantly lied.-I have now called 12 other auto shops within a two mile radius of RJT and the highest hourly rate is 100 with most being 90 or 95. When pushed about the price Ray said "are at a body shop and all his technicians are computer literate." I do not need auto work, just belts replaced and in 2017 I would expect anyone to be computer literate. From the quick oil change locations to dealerships.-They do not take cards. What reputable companies do not take credit cards in 2017, especially places where you will usually be spending large amount of money. I am sending a letter to AAA and the IRS to let them know there seems to be something fishy a foot.-On top of these other issues the car was not ready when we were told it was going to be. If it was the first car they looked at it would have been finished but they did not.-When we said we had no checks on us they did say they could make up an invoice under their "towing" arm of business making up miles they towed up to match the cost of parts- plus we would have the added pleasure of paying a 3-4% surcharge. There is so much more but that gives you a good idea of how this business is run. They are many options out there that will charge a much fairer rate and will not tell you falsehoods to try to get your car into their lot. AAA needs to not have them on their roister - and will be making that clear to them.

They did a great job getting me back on the road. Blew a tire on the way to NYC from CT. My day was ruined but they got me in and out even when it was close to closing. I was out by 3pm after getting in at 1pm. That including finding and picking up 2 tires for my car. All in all not that bad of an experience.

I was in White Plains on business and had a dead car battery. RJT was sent out by AAA. The way the car was parked, the driver's jumper cables could not reach my battery. They do not have a portable jump starting device, which was a bit odd. So I had to get a new battery (which I probably didn't need) just to get on the road again. After it was installed, I gave my credit card to the driver, and he handed it back, saying "We DON'T TAKE CREDIT CARDS". I was infuriated. What kind of a backwards place catering to stranded motorists DOEN'T TAKE CREDIT CARDS in 2014? How is it they have a contract with AAA when the DON'T TAKE CREDIT CARDS?? I had to follow the driver to the ATM to withdraw cash. I haven't done that since maybe 1990. Then a couple days later I got a call saying that I had been overcharged for the battery (that I probably didn't need) and they were mailing me a check for the overcharged amount. At least they did that, but if they took credit cards getting the refund would have been so much easier.

I've never had a worse experience in my life. Over $1000 for a simple tow. The tow driver Pat was yelling at me, bullying me in front of my children, and wouldn't even get out of his truck until I walked to him in the middle of a busy street to pay him. I was forced to pay over the actual milage he drove and he reported he waited an hour at the shop for my car which he did not. The shop backs me that he was there 20 min max however I was charged an extra $125. Pat did not deliver my car in a timely manner and the shop closed so he took my car back to RJT and I was told it was my fault even though I was there waiting and they charged me for two seperate tows. I spoke with John who boldly lied to me, tried to intimidate me, and told me I was lucky they didn't charge me even more and threatened to take me to court. A stressful situation for me was made into an even more horrible experience by dealing with these crooks. Steer clear to save yourself a lot of stress and mistreatment.

I live outside of NY and broke down while visiting my sick father.Ray was supposed to be a friend and has been working on my family s car for over 20 years. When I needed his help to release my car to get towed to Subaru, he held it hostage until I paid. I owed $143 that he could have easily billed me for (I paid right away because obviously that s the fair thing to do for the work they performed, but I was going to stop by after I picked up my car and thank them for the help personally).Originally he called a claim to AllState and then 2 hours later called to change the claim (later, AllState said they will help me if I bring it to a Subaru dealership because they don t trust RJT).What a scum bag. He should be happy that my car is going to get fixed.Don t bring your car here or you might not get it back.

Incredibly nice. They re put in a tough position by edible arrangements on mamaroneck avenue to unjustly boot vehicles in spots that are not clearly marked for edible arrangements. Hopefully edible arrangements will stop scamming the people of white plains. But RJT made a bad situation a little bit better
