This place is very well organized. They have a great system. Most of the people here were nice to us.The security guard that greeted us was very polite. Ingrid was the best!! She was very kind and patient. She was very thorough and very polite. One of the best experiences I ve had at a NY DMV.

I'm from NC and after my attempt yesterday at the Manhattan location this was probably my best ever DMV experience. Only draw back was this location is by appointment only which was no problem to get. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Task completed and on with my day.

Fast and efficient experience: Had to return plates. Got my number ticket, waited on a short line then was helped quickly and politely. Good experience.

I made an appointment in advance for 2:15. Still waiting. It's better than it used to be, but why bother with giving me a time and I'm waiting anyway? 19 minutes late and counting... I'm giving them a 3 star only because the people are being courteous.

Came in to renew my license. Appointment was for 9:15, with all the forms completed i was on my way home by 9:35. Huge difference from the way DMV used to be.

On 12/08 Friday &12/11 Monday, I was in & immediately done in under 5 minutes on Friday then Monday I had to obtain my duplicate drivers license back in my hand & in under 7 minutes,it actually was back in my hands.I ve been dealing with DMV 25 years just about.the government is never that easy or smooth.I ll be doing everything to NEVER go back bc my luck this time will be about 2-3 hours.Good luck

I have been here 3 times trying to get my permit. I was left outside waiting for up to 3.5 hours in the freezing cold. They let me inside when I needed to use the bathroom. But then kicked me out and told me that they can t process anymore permits for the day. I came back the following day and I got in but was waiting for about 5 hours until I got to the counter. The lady then sent me home because my card didn t match my name on my passport because it was one letter off.When I went back for the third time they accepted around 20 ppl and sent everyone else home with appointments for Saturday.If I can give this place 0 stars I would.Staff was unfriendly and not putting in enough effort to be considerate to people who came along way and took off work for this.

We visited this location because my son need id to get his permit to drive. he took the test online then made the appointment. We got there and filled up the aplication and wait to be called for a picture, then passed by the clerks window with the document list: id card, birth certificate, also his SS#. The process was quickly, Carol was the Lady that help us she was nice. We ended up paying a total fee of 85.75. Officr was clean and a nice location. The front kiosk girl was polite the security team are around the building.

It should be 2 stars, the extra is for the supervisor. I know its such a well known fact that DMV service is slow, but as i entered at about 11am i was pleasantly surprised with the service. The female in the front quickly asked me what i was here for, handed me the right application and pointed me to the correct line to stand in. All this within 5 minutes. My turn came quickly, Scott told me what paperwork i needed and helped me with what i was missing and sent me on my way with my number to be called. Few minutes later my # was called and i got my picture taken for the license change. All this was within 10 minutes. Then began the real wait game!! I waited about a hour and a half before i was called to the window to have my application processed( which basically entailed putting in the correct name and address and scanning the paper work i brought in and then issuing a temporary license). The dmv rep. Could barely speak two words to me, ms white/ whyte told me i needed to finish the application before she can do anything( basically sign the back and few check marks) which i understand is not her job i should have done that. But what bothers me is that when i asked her will you call me up to come back, she just stared at me like i am crazy. She would not reply so i asked again u will call me and she said ok. So i sat there another hour and a half waiting for my number to be called cause ms. White could not be bothered to have a full conversation with me. After which my sister pushed me to go to anyone since no one was at that window anymore. I went back to the front desk who told me that my # wasn t in the system. So i somehow found Scott in one of the windows, who actually listened and said go talk to the supervisor Roco i think his name was. He was really helpful and told me to go the next window and I would be helped. When my turn came it took a total of 12 minutes to process the paper work, pay for it and be on our way. So basically its better to be extra extra prepared because some people will go out of there way to make life hard for you. I mean helping you is there job but what do i know about customer service. The supervisor was helpful and was nice as well. With No attitude or why am i here working in this dmv face. It took us about 3 and half hours but we got what we came for so the trip wasn t a total waste of a day.

Miss Lisha and Miss Renee, I can't begin to thank them for both going above and beyond today with my son. These women are the epitome of professionalism with actual friendly personalities, helping my son in getting his ID to travel for the holidays. In a time where people are used to reading bad reviews and slams on the DMV I wanted to say that with patience and respect both ways we left with exactly what we needed. Thank you!

I received an email from the DMV to go down to a DMV office for a mistake the DMV did in my license, I go down to the haverstraw locaction only to be dealing with the rudest team I ever encountered at any DMV, that's on top of them not understanding what the original email was all about, until they resolved it. horrible experience, horrible rep, horrible supervisor

My own pretty great most times but the way elderly ppl get treated is bad. They should get treated as if they were their grandma or grandpa. Bc who would want their grandma grandpa dad or mom being talked to in a rude way

This is a great run DMV.Efficient, courteous, caring.I almost can't believe I'm saying this about the DMV. Good for you for trying to make a difference and run it like a business, where the general public is the customer, instead of other DMVs who treat the customers as a burden.

Horrible, absolutely atrocious, sat waiting with 80% of the seats empty and it still took 3 hours. They skipped over my number in line twice I had to submit for a new ticket because there is no form of service to check your place in line. Just awful.

great place fast service you can walk in early morning no appointment needed if you decide to go after 8 AM take appointment for easy and fast service.I loved this place

It's been sometime. Altho it's covid times the only real trouble was standing in line outside...other than that my wait time was pretty much standard while inside. I was treated really nice by my handling attendant. She was very nice and knowledgeable.

I had an outstanding experience at the West Haverstraw DMV, thanks to Ms. Brown, the supervisor, and her amazing team. Even though I arrived just 15 minutes before closing time, Ms. Brown went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of.She kindly got us a ticket, despite it being past their usual protocol, and helped us register a car with efficiency and a smile. Her dedication to helping people is truly commendable and left a lasting impression on me.The entire team at the DMV was equally kind and efficient, making the process fast and hassle-free.If you want to be treated with respect, kindness, and promptness, I highly recommend visiting the West Haverstraw DV. They made the entire experience a breeze, and I couldn't be more grateful for their outstanding efforts!

Dumbest people working there. They do their job WRONG and then tell the costumers WRONG information and make you come 3 times just to find out they did it all wrong and I didn t have to come those 3 times. Stubborn and stupid people. They think they re god or something. Supervisor is useless too. Useless. They talk down to their costumers. They don t listen. They don t care. Don t work at the dmv if you re so miserable. They tell you one thing and then the other another thing. It s crazy. No one knows anything there. TRAIN THESE PEOPLE.

The 2 times I had to go there to get my id renewed in and out.I went there this past Monday for a real id .I like that the representative ask me if I knew the difference between real and enhanced id to make sure I got the right one.

I came in expecting to wait and become frustrated but I was pleasantly surprised at the efficiency. The new system seems to work quite well. It took me 20min from my appointment time until out the door!

You're given a pass to return and when you return with pass on same day hour after getting requested police report. Your pass is refused. You're provided with a new ticket number and told sorry you have to wait again. Staff don't honor pass given for return on same day. Sad!

Overall, I had a good experience. I made a reservation to come although apparently you don't have to do that. My wait wasn't too long. Wish they had an ATM instead of having to go to the stop and shop to get cash from there. All of the different people that work there that I interacted with were all very nice and helpful.

I like the new system with reservations. It goes really quick. DMV people were very helpful and pleasant. They've been improving it over a couple of decades or so. New Jersey is a disaster compared to it.
