The people here are absolute scumbags and will absolutely try to rip you off. I m currently deployed to Iraq so it s just my wife back home dealing with the car. She took it in to get the brakes checked and they tried telling her we need new pads + rotors all around. $500+ in parts and labor. I told her to get a second opinion so she went to Midas. They were very transparent over there and even took her into the shop to show her that the rotors were untouched and the brake pads were fine and had plenty of life left in them.

the service work is Alright. But the guy(probably the manager) who runs it is not nice. He didn't give me any estimates before doing the service.I went there twice for just one simple headlight issue.First time, they fixed something else (not the headlight). But told me that the problem is fixed.Second time, charged me again to fix the same problem.both time no cost estimate before working on it. But Before returning the key "pay me money"I would never recommend this auto shop to my worst enemy.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Was satisfied with the work done, but not happy with the fact that 2 of my rims were scratched while my truck was at their shop. The guy at the front desk isn t the nicest, and tried to charge me $320 more then wanted to act surprised when I called him out on the extra fees. Argued with me back and forth for a minute then realized I m not going to pay it and pointed out his mistake. The $1,000 worth of work I got done has now costed me $1,200 for 2 new rims. Just be careful with this shop and inspect your vehicle before you leave the parking lot.

We limped in with our Toyota with serious engine problems. It was a miracle it was running at all. These guys did an awesome job fixing it. As soon as they were done we took a trip to NYC and back, then drove it out to Phoenix. 3500 miles later, no issues, runs great!Great job, Watertown Auto Repair!

Ed and his team are terrific, knowledgeable, and hard working. I've used them many times. They are honest and straightforward. On one occasion, I got off work early and decided to wait with my truck while they did some work on it. Ed had his team expedite the work, so I didn't have to wait too long. I strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a good mechanic!

Was able to get an appointment to have my box trailer wiring issue diagnosed and repaired. And have the trailer bearings packed. While it still being worked on I was able to have them also do a lube and oil change on my diesel truck. And I was surprised to get it back before they originally told that they would be done with just the trailer wiring problem. Definitely recommend them as the price was more than reasonable and mechanics and owners were very helpful.

We were traveling through New York to Vermont. And- after listening to our wheels make death screeches through a tranquil campground, we realized we needed brake pads and rotors, and it couldn't wait until we got home. I called Watertown Auto Repair, and they were WONDERFUL! So friendly and helpful and timely. I would go here every time if I lived closer.Service: Brakes

Terrible experience.Came over for the mechanic to take a look what's making a noise from my left front wheel (i was at Subaru dealership before and they said it's cv joint, didn't charge me anything). The guy spent around 15 mins actually driving the car and inspecting it, and at the end they told me they are not 100% sure what's making the noise but charged me $50 and left me with an uncertain answer.Great job, guys. Good luck.

The mechanics here are top notch. I have had to take my car a couple of differnt times to other garages to get work done because Watertown auto was booked out for weeks and every time I did i was never satisfied. The first time the garage I took my car to couldn't find out what was wrong to make the service engine light be on. The mechanic said " we haven't worked on many of those cars and aren't familiar with them. "My car is a chevy sonic, pretty basic car I would think. The second time I had to go to a differnt garage is because my car wouldn't start. This garage mechanic he had it for three days and his answer of why it wouldn't start was " the motor is shot, you need a new motor."Well both times I finally was able to get in at Watertown auto and both times they fixed it and I drove my car out of their parking lot completely satisfied. They aren't over expensive and they are friendly and easy to talk to. They go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. I compleatly trust them and would tell anyone that was having car trouble. take their automobile there they wouldn't be let down.

Charged $27 to deflate tires to the right pressure. Customer service is nonexistent. When asked what went into deflating the tires why it would cost that price he got very arrogant and demeaning. Terrible experience.Service: TiresService: Tires

These guys are excellent. Hard working and honest . Got my SUV in/part welded/out and inspected all on the same day of contact. Wonderful family like service . I ll be going here for all of our vehicles. Do they service motorcycles?

Overall: I think they do good work, but lack some follow through on the customer service. This is my second time in. First time was troubleshooting a lack of windshield wiper fluid pressure. I had already cleaned the nozzles and ensure there was flow coming from each hose, but could not find the source of the problem for weak flow. They figured out there was a kink in the hose, added some plastic part to fix it, and charged me an hr of labor ($70) and about $5 of parts. I thought an hr of labor was a little on the high side and asked Ed but he said it actually took a little over an hr. "At least it is fixed", I thought to myself.I brought my other vehicle in this time mainly to diagnose a rubbing noise for my brakes. While dropping off the vehicle, I realized I probably needed an oil change and asked how much it would be. Ed said it would be fifty something dollars (he gave an exact amount close to $58-59 but don't remember). I went home and checked my records and my car WAS due for an oil change so I called back and asked him to complete that at same time since it was an excellent price for a synthetic oil change. They figured out the brake problem quickly and called me. Turns out my rear rotors and brake pads were touching metal to metal and would need to be replaced. I checked average prices for that service and found his prices to be within reasonable range and authorized the service, asking him to specifically save the broken parts as I wanted to see the damage.Within 24 hours, they completed the service. I called to ask if I could pick it up after hours as long as I paid over the phone. When going over the price, Ed said he had to add 6.5 quarts instead of the 4.4 quarts per the manual and would therefore be charging me an extra $15-20. I thought this was odd and asked how could my car need an extra 2 quarts than whatever manual he was using designated. Ed said it does sound weird and looked it up again and admitted that the first time he looked, he read the wrong specs and therefore quoted me the price for only 4.4 quarts. I asked if he would meet me halfway on the difference of price since it was his mistake in quoting. He said "No, but if you would like I will take the 2 quarts out of your car if you don't want to pay the new price."... I was floored at such a lack of basic customer service. He could have at least taken $5 off. You should do something positive for your customer when you make a mistake. That is Customer Service 101.Not wanting to drive a car that is 2 quarts under-filled of oil, I reluctantly agreed to the charges. After hanging up, I called back 10 minutes later while Ed was with a customer and asked the male that answered the phone if he would make sure to get a message to Ed for me to put the broken/trash parts of the brakes in the back cargo area of my vehicle. He said he would no problem. I picked up my vehicle and there were no broken parts inside. My gut says these aren't bad guys since their prices seemed fair and the two times I brought my car in, they fixed it within 24 hours. That being said, customer service matters and I'm not happy with the lack of follow through. He should have met me halfway since it was his mistake. I didn't come in and ask for the price of 4.4 quarts of oil and then change my request to 6.5. He did. And since I know nothing about cars (other than they need oil and gas every now and again) I want the parts so I can bring them to my neighbor who is more mechanically minded than me. That helps me not to be taken advantage of.

I should say, first, that I used to do my own auto repairs. Now, I do have the money to pay for someone else to do so for me. I have not forgotten, though, to memorize exactly what my car needs when I take it to a repair shop. Before I had my oil change done at Watertown Auto Repair, I asked the guy at the desk how much it would cost for a full synthetic oil change for my 2012 Toyota Yaris sedan. He asked me how much oil my car took. I told him 4 quarts. After the hundreds of oil changes that I have had done on my car over the last ten years, I knew exactly how much oil my car takes. He told me $52 before taxes. After my oil change was done and he gave me the bill, it said $58.95 before taxes. I asked him why it cost more than the original estimate. He pointed to the bill and told me that it took 4.5 quarts.Obviously, I knew that this was not true. I looked in my manual but it did not have the amount of oil needed. It was not a repair manual. So, I went online. Over and over reputable websites stated that my car takes 3.9 quarts or, as I said, 4 quarts. Finally, I found the coup de grce, the actual manual at Toyota with the oil specifications. Funny, Toyota seems to think that my car only takes 3.9 quarts of oil. Since they manufactured the car, I would think that they know how much oil it takes. Watertown Auto Repair must know something that the manufacturer doesn't or he lied and cheated me. Of course he did.Check out my images. I even provided the URLs.It might seem like a small thing, just a few dollars, but if I can't trust Watertown Auto Repair with a small job, I can't trust them with a large job either. Next time, I could be overcharged $1,000. That will never happen because I will never go back there again. Of course, I already told him that at the time. They lost my business and they should lose yours too.P.S. Service centers/repair shops, I'm the wrong person to cheat.Service: Oil change

Went in looking to have them drill out a snapped bolt. Originally, they wanted to schedule me one week in advance. I inquired about 3 days in advance, and they scheduled me for then. Ok, seems normal right? But, when I come in 3 days later, I watch the front desk worker schedule someone (a local man) for the day-of, for labor more intense than mine. I was in the shop before this man. I then watch his vehicle go through the service that he requested, BEFORE MINE! He pays $56 for an oil change and tire rotation; well under the $70/ hour, which I am positive they will charge me, at the minimum. Shortly after, the front desk worker asks me if my ride is going to make it. He misunderstood me upon my arrival, because I never mentioned dropping my car off, for a single bolt to be drilled out. It seems to me as though he intended to further delay my repair, on the open schedule of his. Anyway, they take my vehicle in. It took them 1.5 hours at $70/hour. Ok, overpriced and took longer than I expected, but I still expected standard quality work. That's where I was wrong, again! I check the new nut and bolt that they installed on my intercooler, in place of the one I snapped off in the hole. I am able to turn the nut and bolt with my fingers. They applied no more than 5lbs of torque to a bolt that holds a vital piece of my engine together. I was so furious that I did not go back in. I fixed it myself in their parking lot and left. That was my first and last visit to Watertown Auto Repair on 283. I would not recommend them to any military members or non-locals. I believe I was discriminated against.
