This was the remote starter installation from hell. Tech messed up the first one. My dash lights lite up when I tried it. They didn't recheck it. Went home. Lites back. Went back, two wires were crossed. Fixed, $500 fog light switch was not working. I fixed. Lights on dash back!!! Went back. Was told that as the lights were not on that they could NOT fix. It might be my Forester. On the way home I found that the fog lights AGAIN NOT WORKING. The switch was Again not plugged in, only now I can't even find the whip to plug it back in for the second time. Now I will fix the switch myself. The worst installation, customer service and would not recommend them.Recommend you go somewhere else. Jeff LaRock, Gouverneur.

We brought our truck in to have off road lights and a roll bar wired professionally. While we were there, we noticed that the horn wasn t working. Not only did they do a great job wiring everything but they also fixed the horn all for a very reasonable price! Derrick and their crew are professional and go the extra mile! We will be doing all of our video, sound and aftermarket accessories business with Big Apple!

They said they would reinstall the remote car starter after getting some work done. Now they want 60 bucks for 10 minutes of work. NowI'm in the parking lot waiting for the police so I can get my keys back.

Bought my own equipment, had them install it.4 months later no issues, still slamming. Clean install for under 120 bucks, not bad!

Great experience. Apparently my appointment was never put in the book, nonetheless when I showed up they got me in immediately. The time to install a starter was also much shorter than they had estimated. Very professional customer service, highly recommend.

August 26, 2022 Fair, friendly, helpful and concerned is how I describe their behavior with me.I had an appointment with big apple to look at my car starter which was not working. They said it would be about $30 to look at it. It fixed my problem and I m very happy in my bill was only $32. Thank you very much to big apple. I am happy !

I ve been going to Big Apple since I was in high school late 80 s to early 90 s and still have some of that equipment today! As a local business owner now, I linked up with them 4 years ago to install networking and Sonos music system in our store. We recently had a technical issue with the Sonos system that I couldn t figure out. I contacted Bobby and his guys stopped same day to get us back in order! Thanks guys! Always shop local!

Very poor customer service and tone when talking with manager. Took two vehicles in for car starters (approx 800 bucks spent) and was disappointed to be charged 85 additional dollars due to the unique aspects of newer cars. They joking said...yes it's in the fine print. Worse yet one of the cars was not working properly...no heat when car was started. Upon calling the Manager he rudely insulted me by stating..."did you turn the heater on?" When I took it in for additional repairs it was met with more rude discussion. Lastly, when I went to pick it up since I had to leave it with them....they never apologized for their error of not having hooked up a second wire. Will never do business with them again. Wonder how they would have helped my wife dig out of a foot of snow on the car?

TL;DR: Stay far away, try the other shop in Watertown or look for professionals.They installed a remote starter last winter that broke after a week and a half. Due to my work and the distance I need to go to get to the shop I couldn't get it fixed in time for it to be useful. On top of that somehow my stereo died at the same time the remote starter went, and I discovered a panel in my trunk that just didn't end up getting put back on under my dashboard.I ended up having to go out to start and de-ice my vehicle each morning, which takes about 15 minutes, at 3 in the morning, the moment I wake up, in below 10 degree weather, on top of the hour I need to prepare for the day, and my 20-30 minute drive to work, without any news or music since my stereo died. Plus I had to go in to get it fixed, which the drive alone takes 30 minutes one way not counting time for them to diagnose and fix the problem. Oh, and it needed to get done in my off time just to add a nice cherry on top.Needless to say, I spent a lot of time cold and frustrated that winter, wishing I had never gone in the first place. At least then my stereo would've worked. If the technicians had done a proper installation it all could have been avoided. Hours of my life I'm not getting back because someone wasn't paying attention. I highly advise against giving them your business.

Had my remote starter installed here. These guys are great - now this is going to sound bad at first but bear with me...Several months after purchasing the car starter, my car suddenly stopped running while I was driving down the highway. I had to have it towed to the Hyundai dealership. The dealership charged me upwards of $300 just to diagnose the issue, which turned out to be some severed wires caused by the improper installation of my car starter. This is where Derek and the guys at Big Apple Music really came through. I called them, explained the situation, and within minutes they had sent a technician to the Hyundai dealership. They took full responsibility for the issue and immediately paid my bill at the dealership. They got my car back up and running in minutes (Hyundai claimed the repairs would take hours) and completely re-did the remote starter correctly. They even picked me up at the hotel I was staying at so that I didn't have to take a taxi back to the dealership. These guys get 5 stars because they clearly stand by their work - things happen with vehicles and electronics. It's unavoidable. They owned up to it and took care of the problem immediately. Also, every member of the staff was pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend Big Apple Music - they honor the integrity of their products and services and follow through. I know now that anything I purchase from them will be backed up 100%.

Look! I tried everything I could to get them to take my money today! I walked in to try and get them to finish installing my radar detector because I couldn't find a switched power that I was comfortable tapping. Instead of doing it, they patiently walked me through a procedure to obtain what I needed free of charge. 2nd time I just walked in and they were able to take care of me.

It's basically an install palace with products with the most reviews.I didn't really see anything exquisite or even up-to-date.It reminded me of going to the Supply shops a year after 'Fast & Furious' came out.They were friendly, acknowledged me and asked if I needed assistance. I just needed some parts but they have none. They must be ordered. Howwww? Are you not installing systems with good quality products or is everything prepackaged for you? What happens when one of those pieces is subpar or damaged? I just thought that was lame.Their prices don't seem too bad, given the location but I am sure you can drive just a bit further for a better price, or newer product.

Usually I do not bother with negative reviews. This case is different.Why? Read on:This store is stuck in the distant past. Car alarms, remote starters and other similar bread and butter items on offer are overpriced vintage solutions.Consider - their least expensive, basic remote starter is priced at $199.00. This is the same (outdated) model available at $89.00 installed or less at most other custom shops.My experience: Install a one DIN head unit, connect GPS and backup camera and OEM speakers. 5 HOURS and a corresponding outrageous bill.Any halfway decent shop will complete this install in two hours or less.Whatever Big Apple Music may have been at some point in the past, they're no longer it.Do yourself a favor - drive a few more miles and save 50 to 80% on your install without having to settle for yesterday's products.

I had a remote starter put in my truck in about an hour and a 1/2. The fella that I doubt with very courteous and accommodating. he took a lot of time out of his lunch break to help me. I need a tonneau cover now and will not hesitate to go back

This is a very well laid out, clean, and quality store. The people working behind the counter are knowledgeable and helpful. Besides the store itself, the prices of the equipment they sell must be price matched to the lowest prices online because they are charging as low if not lower than any where else. The man I spoke with got me an appointment within a week and answered any of my questions helpfully. Furthermore, on to the most important thing, the work they do. The knowledge and experience the gentlemen here exhibit is absolutely perfect. I had a full amplified sound system put into my 2021 Kia Forte. 4 Kenwood Excelon 7" door speakers, a 12" JL subwoofer with a ported box, a 1000 watt JVC amplifier, bass level control dial, and of course all the wiring that makes that system work. Expertise and finesse. My car looks no different than when I brought it there, besides the very smart placement of the amplifier, subwoofer and bass dial. The sound, on the other hand, sounds unbelievably phenomenal. It seems Big Apple Music only carries the best quality speakers. I am beyond happy with the work done at Big Apple Music.

I get all my stuff from here. My car stereo system with top of the line equipment and my windows tinted and just recently a new car starter for my GF s car for Christmas at very reasonable and competitive prices. Excellent service to Diggy and Steve and Bobby.

I purchased a deck, had it installed, later on got speaker put in with an amplifier. These guys know what they're talking about, if they have something in stock that's a better deal, or more bang for your buck, they'll mention it. These guys went above and beyond in this last installation, they got everything set up the way I wanted it, and on top of that the window controls on my door were sinking into the door, and without even asking they tightened it back up, I can say my I am extremely happy with these guys, and would highly recommend them at any time.

Great work, very accommodating when ordering materials/parts, friendly knowledgeable staff and will always listen to customer regarding to what looking for without judging on gender (how some places make women feel they know nothing, you don't get that here at all). Highly recommend to everyone!

It s nice to know that good old fashion service is alive and well at Big Apple Music. The very knowledgeable staff and terrific owner helped me design the perfect home AV system featured around the Yamaha Aventage RX-3070 Receiver. I was anticipating great sound but this was beyond my expectations. What really blew me away was that the digital video processor has made my Directv signal incredibly clear. The picture quality is off the chart! I got more than I expected and couldn t be happier. If you want a positive personalized buying experience look no further than Big Apple.

Whoever the dude is up front thats a clerk is a complete douche bag. Plays on his phone too much. Has a terrible attitude. Doesn't seem like he wants to be there. Didnt acknowledge me when I asked him a question. Didnt even look up from his phone actually. And on top of it all. The goods in the store are marked way too high. The stereos that I looked at that are from Kenwood cost $200 on Amazon and $150 for installation parts. Big Apple Music had it for $600 not including installation parts. No thank you.

They do good work, but don't wait while they do it. Very small and uncomfortable waiting are. Small TV with most of the screen consumed by an ad for Big Apple Music. Lousy folding chairs to sit on, and no restroom.

This place is incredibly pushy and will jump on you the moment you walk in, especially if you look like a soldier. The JL components I bought were awful and the wiring harness for my chevy did not match up at all. If you ask for a simple CD player/tuner, they will throw at you "the last one in stock", some $900 unit you could find on amazon for a mere fraction of the cost and try and convince you against something reasonable that you find. The best deal I got was when the Kenwood I wanted was not in stock so they gave me the next one up for the same price. But I still walked out paying about $180 for a new tuner, antenna adaptor, and wiring harness, which didn't even work anyways. They will also try and convince you that Memphis Audio is the greatest thing since Jesus and that you need to jump on the last $300 set of coaxes in stock before it's all gone forever. They like to call you "boss" as well. Enter with caution.

The technical team continued to work on resolving the issue which I am thoroughly impressed.
