I ve only been here once for salmon fishing. It s a cool place to visit. It does however get pretty crowded during salmon fishing season. Has a decent parking lot that holds a good amount of cars. There s usually a stand at the top where they ll cut up your salmon for you when you re done.

It's that time of year again. Salmon are beginning to run for the next few weeks. There is plenty of parking though I recommend getting there very early to get a spot to stand on the dam. Going down river is your best bet. There is less accumulation density but you can sight fish and not be bothered by other people. Portapotty on location.

Always a great place to travel to. To catch some of the biggest salmon, steelhead and lake brown trout. Not recommended to be a kid friendly place to take your children do to the amount of alcohol and some violence there. Get there early if you want to get a good place to stand.

The parking area is stones and holes. The people I meet are nice (the trashy ones let themselves be known by acting like it) people litter so bad. There s line everywhere. Easily get Stuck in the water from years of line getting stuck in the water over and over again. If you get a fish and need a net make sure the net extends far enough or you need to go down the stairs and climb the metal gate and wait for the fish to come close. I haven t had much luck this year there. And the salmon run forget about it. People are too close together and Then lines are getting twisted up, people catch and everyone has to wait for them to reel in the fish and walk it down. Some people even stay in the water for some goofy reason. But to each their own. It s gone downhill over the years tho. Lake Alice is on the other side tho!

Cool engineering to see of the dam area and leftover 1900s ruins. Mostly for fishers but nice little path down the stream to hike through. Beautiful little waterfalls in the valley area and at the dam. Unfortunately the few lazy and irresponsible fishers leave their trash and fishing line around the area.

The fishing is horrible, its always crowded and windy, almost no parking, I've never seen anyone catch anything there.

I went there too fish ( too much seaweed ) and boat traffic on the water. So, I ended up just relaxing and taking in the scenery as you can see for yourself, it is mesmerizing. I grew up in this area... I told myself this is what happens when you haven't been home in 50 years- Things CHANGE .... Life & Time waits for no one ( to whomever ). Try to enjoy every moment of your life, because it is BEAUTIFUL- God doesn't make mistakes.

This used to be a really great place to fish but now the power company has put up fencing by the dam making it very hard to fish. there is only one place to land a fish ..you will have to walk down the wal and then down a flight of srairs and have a long handled net to reach over the fence or possibly drag the fish under the fence. You can fish on the waterfalls side but you will have to wear a life jacket or they will ticket you for trespassing. They really need to build fish ladders up the falls side so the fish can travel up stream further and open up more places to fish. This place was once a great place to fish but today you will have to go far downstream with waders or kayak or some type of small watercraft

Salmon run. Good place to fish. Very overcrowded by out of state fishermen who will shpve you out of their way because they think they have the right to do so. NY conservation shpuld charge out of staters 100 bucks a day to fish here. Trails need development. Needs campfire spaces. Needs bathroom facility. Needs a park office attended by a person.

If you like having your truck broken into and having fishing gear stolen, then this is the place for you! Have a tonneau cover? No problem! They will start slicing it with a knife and then continue on to lift the cover until it breaks the latches! FUN! Then for good measure they will take things like a wading bag with some extra line in it. They will even take an empty rod holder! No, folks, you won't find scum of the earth anywhere else quite like the Oak Orchard Dam parking lot!

If your not from around the area, it's best ya go back to where your from. Grade A fishing, when you can find a spot. The amount of people who come up here are straight up ruining the fish population and the sport itself. Oh and Brookfield is a joke.

Easy access to the dam. Crowded when the fish are there, not crowded when they aren't. Parking lot needs some work.
