My wife, in-laws, and I were passing through on our way to NYC on January 19th when the low pressure indicator lit up on the dashboard. This was not something I was particularly pleased to see, given that we were far from home and somewhat on a schedule. We had originally stopped at another shop and were told the wait time would be "really long", so we stopped in here hoping for a better outcome. They took us in right away, found the problem (a screw right in the middle of the tire tread, thankfully, vs. a sidewall issue), and got us turned around and back on the road in under 20 minutes. When they pulled the car out, they handed us the key and told us "no charge". I just want to give a hearty thank you for turning around what could have been a miserable situation for us travelers!

Today Mike helped me with fixing the exhaust hanger on my car, he got me in on short notice and was able to fix the car in a short period of time. He was very nice and I would highly recommend him.

Went there for a leaking power steering line and he told me I needed all lines replaced and quoted me some crazy figure of $800 brought it to a different shop and got the whole job done for $125 one simple line leaking. It's a shame how these shops literally steal and take advantage of people that don't know anything about Auto Repair do not go here they will rip you off!!!!!

Came in for an inspection. The brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced after going through inspection. This is not what surprised me, what did shock me was the initial price they gave me. The assistant manager told me $650 for the two pieces and when I asked what for there were all these service charges and fees that he made seem more complicated than needed to be. After calling several other companies for a quota the real price should have been $350 with tax. I could have possibly even got it for cheaper elsewhere. They will attempt to charge college students a greater price. Be warned, always question the price if you go here. The manager was understanding but I was there for almost 4 hours and had to go through a whole ordeal to get the price reduced with the assistant. I recommend Midas or Mavis tires.

Have only been in Binghamton for about 2 years now, but this is the place I go to when I have car issues or need a tire change. Even when short-staffed they still get my car looked at in a reasonable amount of time. Have been completely satisfied with their service, I will continue to bring my car here, and I will recommend this place to my friends.

Had a slow leak in front tire. Inquired for some information. Decided to have the tire repaired. Was taken care of in an promptly. My weight was not very long. And felt the price was reasonable.

These people took advantage of my mother and charged her $1,000 for front brakes with calipers on a Kia. They marked up the front calipers over $100, about 110% mark up. Same with the cheap rotors and pads from o'rieleys. I understand parts mark up as im a mechanic myself but over $440 on a 2 wheel brake job is quite excessive. I haven't personally spoke with the service manager yet but I sure will.

As of posting, my car has currently been at this location for 17 of the 20 days of September. They are supposed to be changing the transmission. At this point I've been told my car would be ready 3 different times to still not have it done. Since I haven't had my car the whole month, will they be making the payment for me?

This particular service center (Vestal Parkway, Vestal NY) is the only one that we go to, and have been doing so for over a decade. Primarily that is because of Jeremiah Jewitt, who is always courteous, knowledgeable, and very hard working, often seven days a week!!!In this time period I've seen many managers come and go and most don't have a clue as to what they are doing, much less what our car needs. While waiting for our car I've seen too many of them be discourteous and too often turn people away. I've been told that just in the past couple of months there have been three managers who have come and gone. I recal one manager a year or so ago who didn't last two days, just walking out without notice.Jeremiah is always there and and always working hard. It's far past the time that he should have been made a manager, why doesn't Monroe recognize his service, he's the hardest working and most knowledgeable person there?

Be aware of this one. Last summer I went to fix my car AC, they gave an estimate of 1300+tax. I fixed it from the Honda workshop and they did it for 180 only. Previously they had dangerously overcharged me for the new York state inspection and tire replacement as well.

If i could post negative stars I would. I wasted $560.00 and the car is not fixed. Not to mention it was not out back together properly. The dip stick bolt was removed and not replaced. The air manifold is missing. My mechanic named off a list of items that were not properly put back together. I was charged for coolant fluid exchange yet there was no coolant in reserve tank. My mechanic had to replace the O rings because of the damage done. Also they had the car for over a week. I believe it was worked on by a non experienced employee and we were taken advantage of because we were from out of town. I plan to take this matter further once my mechanic has the car fixed and put back together properly. BH

Best place I've been to, they treat people like family get them in as soon as they can and if they can't they don't bs you about it. They treat customers with dignity and respect. I will always take my vehicle here as well as refer my friends and family! Thank you for continued care!

My wife and I brought our well-maintained 2011 Honda Fit to Monro in Vestal 4-5 years ago for a simple oil change. The technician (probably a new employee) over-tightened and stripped the oil-drain plug. Our car has been broken ever since. When we realized something was terribly wrong (oil leaks under the car, and the acrid smell of burning oil and gasoline every time we drove), we brought it back to Monro within a couple of days, and were told that the technician had overfilled the oil and "forgotten" to tighten the drain plug. Nobody owned up to what had actually happened, and nobody actually repaired the problem. We didn't learn what had actually gone wrong until our next oil change (at another business). We were informed us that our drain plug had been stripped, and would never seal tightly again. It's been through a series of temporary fixes (re-tapping and larger plugs), but our car has leaked oil ever since, and the stench of burning oil comes through the vents and gives us and our passengers headaches. I would NEVER recommend Monro to anyone who cares about their car, or their health.

The good: Have been a regular customer at this shop for years. Primarily bringing the state inspection and tire related business. Best tire rotation and alignment service in town, hands down!The bad: failed inspection and was not given a reasonable explanation why. The phrase "front rotors are out of spec" is a little blurry, don't you think? A further inquest into the nature of the problem left me speechless, because the techs could not come up with a reasonable explanation of why they are out of spec. The only thing I could comprehend was that both passenger and driver side rotors and brakes had to be replaced (though a comprehensive brake job was done less than a year ago with less than 10k miles on both rotors and pads). The next day I was able to pass inspection with flying colors at a different location. The techs at the other place could not find a single thing out of specs on any/all of my brakes and rotors. Pads were at 80 % all around. Rotors are not warped. Calipers are not rusted, brake lines are intact. The cars stops on a dime, no vibration, free spin test, etc.Bottom line: if you have read this far - a word of caution if you plan on bringing your vehicle for inspection. Other than that - great wheel service.

Let me begin by saying that the change in management that has happened here is beyond relieving. I have done business here over the years as I work down the road so it s convenient and have never truly been 100% satisfied with how they conducted themselves, this time that was far from the case. I came into a very clean store and was met by a new Store Manager, Lance, when he opened the front door for me to simply enter the store. Before we made it to the desk he had my all of concerns already determined and began typing up my car into the computer system. My vehicle went into the store the second I handed the gentleman working on my car the keys as soon as I signed the paperwork for them to work on it. Very transparent with all pricing and for the first time ever, in any vehicle repair place, he invited me immediately around to his side so I was able to see my order on the screen as he verified my pricing line by line and ensured I got some discount. Very through to say the least. He informed me that I could expect my car about an hour and a half. 37 minutes - to the dot! My vehicle was done, I paid for their work done, and was in my car ready to leave. They proceeded to tell me I need all new tires, as everyone usually does, but instead of just saying your tires are bad ma am he took me right out to the car to ensure I saw the issue myself. Brought me back up front a provided me multiple options that were within my budget and I m happy to say I will be back at Vestal Monro in a couple days (and permanently for that matter) for my new tires and alignment at an awesome price. I wanted to share my experience here as I have been a customer here for some time and have had some very negative experiences with the previous managers and assumingly the rest of you have at times. (There has been many) This young man is leading an impeccable team and I wish him the best of luck in his new position, not that I feel he really need luck. By far the best experience I have ever had, especially as a female, with any automotive repair shop... including the big dealers! You just made a life long customer, thank you for providing me the excellent service you all did, it s service like this that will keep me coming back.

I usually go to Monroe on court st. and those guys are awesome. Came to vestal location to see about getting my catalytic converter fixed and was told there is no welding, provided no service or recommendations. In fact I waited in the lobby for 15 minutes before having to walk over and speak to the guy who provided no customer service what so ever on a Sunday.

I almost gave this a one maybe two star review. I got quoted an online quote, then when I walk in for my appointment, the front desk clerk tries to charge $300 dollars more than I was quoted. I understood that tax wasn't included in the quote but that was only an extra $40. I show the clerk my online quote and he tells me "that's a screenshot, you could've gotten that from anywhere." So I say "go get your manager NOW!" The manager came in, saw what the problem was and quickly made it right while verbally blasting for employees for trying to overcharge me. I gave a 4 star because the manager not only corrected the issue he gave me a free wheel alignment.

First and most likely only time for a review. RUN AWAY AND DON'T LOOK BACK!! Appointment for NYS inspection. New manager from Jersey where safety inspections don't happen. Newer car with 12k miles. Absolutely no problems. Told rear brake rotors were rusted. They were not. Surface rust from short drives to school. Asked and was shown obscure passage in inspection book about cracking of the rotor and "mechanical damage". The brakes functioned perfectly. Mechanic didn't even road test the vehicle and perform brake test to verify. IIRC rotor has to pass minimum spec and pads not be metal to metal. I have worked as a mechanic in the past and was inclined to like this place. The managers car had more rust on rear rotors. Good luck for that inspection. Predatory scam pretending to be a business right outside of a college where kids don't know how to say "no thanks" and have no clue what to look at. On top of that service was horribly slow. 2 hours for a drop off appointment showed up 15 minutes early. "Mechanics" were standing around and talking. Ok for 15 minutes, but did so for majority of time spent there. Take a lunch break or not. Bays kept full at customers expense minimum of 4 customers waiting in office during time spent there

Made an appointment at 3:00 for an oil change. I said I would wait for the car. Came in at 3:00 and the man at the counter had my reservation. Said he'd get it in soon. At 4:20 I hadn't heard a word about when my car would be serviced. I asked him why he didn't tell me he could not stick to my appointment. He said things happen. I asked how often he as to say that. He invited me to leave his store, so I did. Not only was I abandoned with no word as to any progress being made, i was treated rudely. That was my first and last venture into a Monroe store (it was dark ande dirty too-even for a car repair store. I wish anyone using their service the best of luck - you will need it.
