The worker was very nice and answered all my questions. I am happy with the service I received as I felt the difference driving my car afterwards. However, the waiting room could improve as it was dirty and needs a coffee machine as most other competitors offer. On the plus side, the Sunday late closing is a big convenience for me and is the reason why I chose this facility.

I was out with my daughter this past Saturday, when the tire pressure light came on. I went to quick check and upon exiting the vehicle heard the "hisss" no one wants to hear. I called Mavis first. They were extremely rude and didn't give me options after saying they were jam packed and couldn't even throw the spare on for me. Instead of calling Monro, I drove there. I was only three quarters of a mile away. There was one gentleman finishing up a car. He was polite as he checked out the other person. I told him the issue and he said he'd take a look. He quickly diagnosed a nail in the tire, broken off, it couldn't be plugged. I also knew I'd be needing tires anyway. He quoted me the prices and got straight to work on replacing the one tire. He even rotated the newest tire off the back at no charge, so the two new tires were in the front of the vehicle. He did all this while helping another couple with an emergency and figuring out a solution for them. The work they needed could only be done through the dealer (an Audi). He cashed me out and had my daughter and I on our way in under an hour. I had asked him his name because I felt bad not having cash to tip him. His name is Diego. He is listed as the manager and in my opinion he deserves the title and more. More businesses should be run like that. Later on, I did see another employee who may have been on break, but Diego handled all in front of him, in that short time, with knowledge and patience. He did take a couple of business calls as well. I 100% recommend this location, based on this interaction. Thank you!Oh and the tire, with balance, labor and disposal was $150 cheaper than the tire purchased a little over a month ago from another Mavis location in the area (not the one called prior to coming into Monro), with a better warranty.

My brakes now make a noise after having brake pads and rotors replaced. It never made a noise before, I was having them replaced for maintenance. For the whole ordeal of getting new brake pads and rotors, this new sound appearing, replacing them again because they couldn t figure out the sound, telling me they fixed it, and the sound still exists, it was a waste of time and money and I don t have the patience or trust to have them work on it again. I was there for 6 hours total in person, left it overnight to work on the brakes the second time, and paid the same price that was offered at the dealership. Actually they initially quoted me MORE than the dealer and once I said it was cheaper there, they added a discount . I thought because of convenience, this would be a good option, but I should have just stuck with the dealer. I do not recommend and now my car sounds horrible.

After going to Mavis and being completely disappointed and lied to for service on a fleet vehicle and my personal vehicle. I definitely appreciate the honesty and courtesy shown by Steve. My cars have found a new home.

Never recommend this place. Please dont go here. I got my wheels changed and they did not even do the necessary checks and they are money minded. They dont wanna do work and wanna get paid.They ruined my tires. They made it a big mess for me.

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. DO NOT GO THERE FOR YOUR CAR REPAIR OR INSPECTION. I scheduled an appointment for NYS inspection of my vehicle. I was late about 10 minutes for the appointment. I arrived and said I have an appointment for inspection. The guy replied you HAD an appointment. You are 10 minutes late and you need to reschedule. I apologize and said it was due to the road condition and traffic. He said if you are late for your doctor s appointment you will not be seen. I did not argue and rescheduled for the inspection. Next time I arrived before the appointment time. I was told that my vehicle failed inspection for front tiers. I was then quoted for two tires and wheel alignment more than double the normal cost. I paid the inspection fee and whent to a different place for tires for less than half the cost. I went back to the place for inspection, and he recognize me and told me that why you went to the other place for the tires? I would have given the same rate to you. Then he took my car inside for inspection. He told me that my car failed inspection again due to faulty third break light and gave me a very high quote to fix it. I told him I ll not fix it with him and go ahead and complete the inspection for emission. He came back and told me that my vehicle OBD computer is not connecting with the DMV system, even though the connector is OK, but unable to communicate. As if this is something that wrong with my car electrical. Not sure if anything is wrong with my car or he intentionally failed the inspection and try to squeeze unnecessary repairs that would have cost me a lot of money. He charged me again for the inspection fee in full and when he was pulling out my car the third break light is working fine which was the reason, he failed my vehicle inspection the first place. I told him and showed the picture that the 3rd break light is working fine. He told me that well when I inspected it was not working. I felt that it was retaliation for not purchasing tires from him initially. I would suggest everyone not to go to this shop and if you do, be very careful about the scams, they will do to get money out of you for unnecessary repairs or overcharge. Stay away from this shop. I will never go back.

Went on a Sunday morning, I had an appointment at 1130 but they let me check in early. At the desk was Chris, who did not look well. I asked him how he was feeling and he proceeded to tell me he was tired because he has COVID and he couldn t call in sick. No mask after I already was right in front of him. I have a wife and a 6 and 2 year old at home. Great you ve potentially exposed a customer to COVID and his family. I m an RN and I worked in the ICU in Montefiore Bronx. Never got COVID and now this Chris is going to expose me.Anyhow the bays were completely empty they pull my car in the bay and the mechanic looks over my car. I came in for brake evaluation and oil change. I m waiting in the front for my quote and Chris says 5 more minutes. I sat down to wait. He finishes his call, says he needs to call Autozone in Newburgh to see if they have the rotors. He lets it ring several times then proceeds to take another call from a different customer. Has this long drawn out conversation to a customer, finishes the call. In the meantime a customer comes in to the shop, immediately takes them in. Fine 20 minutes later he finally calls Autozone and they have the part. BUT, they don t have a driver. Meanwhile Chris is coughing all over going back and forth with the mechanic. Apparently Chris has zero knowledge about cars. How do I know? He told me and I witnessed it.So I say great, I ll go get the part myself. He tells me Autozone Newburgh. About 15 minute drive, they tell me just go there the rotors will be there you don t need paperwork or anything.So I drive the 15 minutes get there. Nobody has a clue what I m talking about. They don t even have the part IN STOCK. I should also say that most of the calls I heard Chris making were customer service calls apologizing for their errors. So good old Chris will get a call from corporate.

I usually don t write reviews but I felt this story needed to be told. So let s just say my dad, brother AND AAA are sick of my shenanigans when it comes to my car(s). Hypothetically speaking I may or may not be the type of person who lives her life on the tip of the edge and needless today I might have been due for an inspection like a long time ago. It was the day before I left for vacation and of course I decided to book my inspection then. I was driving out of state. So (if this was true ) I would need an inspection since I didn t want to have any issues in another state. I actually booked an appointment down the block at Mavis, but when I got there I was told this inspection would take over an hour and they were closing soon. So I was essentially very mad because I had an appointment. Soooo I called Monro hoping they could squeeze me in, I was right down the street. A gentlemen answered and hesitated as they were close to the end of their day. I explained my situation and he said come on in. It didn t take anything close to an hour! Quick, fast and efficient. They even replaced one of my tail light bulbs. They didn t try and get me or make me feel silly like most shops do to women. Very happy with their help. Those guys on that night deserve the world for helping me! I am so grateful for their kindness and letting me come in last minute. Will definitely go there again!

Vails Gate location mechanic tried to scam me with unnecessary service. I brought my car to this location for many years and was happy with the service. Mostly had oil changes and inspections done. There s a new guy at the front desk now. I went in for an oil change and the man asked ME what kind of oil my car takes. I also requested they rotate my tires. He shows me a sheet with the types of oil changes and the one I selected had tire rotation for free. BTW, this place NEVER rotated my tires. Next, I ask (big mistake I know) to look over the car because of a long trip. I was quoted $1,100 for coolant flushes (my car is only at 52,000 mi), a new tire because there were two heavy duty staples in my tire, and wheel alignment. The price alone made me cringe. I don t need the flushes. I also didn t need a new tire. I needed the staples out and the tire plugged, if needed. They didn t even do that. Their only solution was a new tire and wheel alignment. The man also mentioned I had tires from Mavis and told me Mavis only does two wheel alignment which is why my alignment is off. He told me I should have purchased tires from him. I suspect I needed two new front tires recently my car is a 4x4 because this place never rotated my tires even though it s in the package. I left that place with no tire rotation - they pulled out my car out once the oil was changed and I refused further service. The tire rotation was part of my oil change package, an oil change that I was charged $20+ more than usual and a feeling of being scammed. At this point, I was so upset I didn t even mention the tire rotation. After this, I drive to Mavis for clarification. Mavis tells me they have four wheel alignment which sounds right for a place whose main business is selling tires. I will NEVER bring my car to Monro- Vails Gate place again. You just lost a customer.

Popped a tire on the thruway and got towed here on a Friday evening. Guys we re nice enough to stay open late Friday and get a new tire on my car on the way to Massachusetts with my family in tow. Thanks again for the quick service!

We ve had this Monro Muffler location available to us for many years, and at one time it was my choice place for any routine service for my cars.Over the last 5 years there has been a very large decline in service and trustworthiness. Every time I walked in the door there seemed to be some new Issue that had to be resolved immediately because it wouldn t be safe to drive. And when I said I didn t have enough money at the moment I was offered a later day service that would cost less if paid in cash. After a call to a family member who is a mechanic I was informed of the real truth. My car did not need that service.Team, my unsafe vehicle condition was simply untrue. And in my opinion, unscrupulous.So I stopped going to your place. Until a few weekends ago.You see, I needed an oil change and I didn t have a lot of time other than that day to do one. I drove past and saw a sign Come in , Bays open, no waiting The guy at the desk not only couldn t be bother with me as he was joking with the guy working on a car. Next to 2 empty bays So when he did come in to acknowledge that I knew he had seen me I said I d like an oil change. This was his reply.. When? Wednesday, Thursday? Aint gonna be today !I started to say that the sign said bays open, no waiting then I realized who it was I was dealing with.After speaking to friends and family, seems I am not alone in my displeasure.If Monro Muffler Admins have the pride any business deserves perhaps you should pay a visit undercover. I think they ll be as disgusted as I am.PS. Driving home late last night I noticed the sign was still outside.. even after they were closed!

EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED!! I had been a long time customer of this shop. In the past they had always treated me right so when I brought my car in with a clicking noise in the axles they changed the axles. When my wife picked up the car the issue was not fixed. The main service tech Steve said to leave the car with him we argued that they did not properly diagnose the car and fix the issue. After keeping our car for another 2 days he admitted he could not fix the problem and that we should bring it to another shop. He would not issue a refund stating that we had asked him to change the axles but that he would put a request in with corporate to try and get us some kind of refund. After a week I called to check the status and spoke to the assistant manager who told me that no such request had been made. We took our car to Subaru and the main tech there said that the reason the car was not fixed properly the first time was because they used aftermarket parts that were not the same length as the OEM axles. When you bring a car into Monro make sure that they are diagnosing and completely fix the issue or they will charge you not fix your car and not give your money back. That is horrible customer service!

Long time customer of this place. Seems to be a hit or a miss when it comes to service. The store manager Steve, is so disrespectful. The first time he was nasty to me was when O requested to get a state inspection done. He originally said that I would need to get my tints removed before he d do the inspection. I advised that the vehicle is stock and that it came from the factory that way. He then proceeded to say that with the state laws and such that they d need to remove my window tints along with the inspection. After he walked over to my car with a device to measure the tints, he then realized that what I said was accurate. He then said afterwards that he was short staffed that day and had no availability to do it, with no cars in bay and at least one service mechanic. Now today, after setting an appointment for an oil change at 0900, he said that I d have to wait 2 hours or drop the vehicle off because he had to move on. Admittedly, I was 3-5 mins late to my appointment in which I apologized for due to road conditions. He then said again that he is short staffed and two members called out. I questioned why there was no way for him to pull my car in while having a service bay open and he again defaulted to short staffing. After that he said you are welcome to wait for two hours for the next availability or you can call corporate at the number next to the door. In this case it was the delivery of his customer service which left much be desired, especially when seeing that his customer service was different for me than for the gentleman that was behind me. Unacceptable, especially when I work in a customer facing environment as well and know that I d never be able to or want to treat my customer in this manner. Terrible service!!

I went to Monro Muffler today and got great service to get my tire fixed. I actually had an appointment with Mavis but the wait was so long I drove across the street and Tyler and Kelvin was so helpful with great interpersonal skills, knowledge and experience to help my situation. I am so glad I didn t wait around at Mavis.

I was told that my car failed inspection for front tires. I was then quoted for four tires and a wheel alignment which was unnecessary. I went 2 days later to Toyota and my vehicle passed without an issue. This use to be a good location but after the change in personal and manger they are just trying to scam you into getting unnecessary repairs.

Very happy with the customer service and mechanical work done to my car. Steven was very helpful and knowledgeable on my belts that were making noise. The car is nice and quiet and feels a lot smoother. The mechanics in the bay did a great job and got in done in a few hours. Price was very affordable for the labor needed.

Louis and Jon were super friendly and helpful. I needed to have brakes done and they squeezed me in with almost no notice on a Saturday afternoon. I really appreciate the service and the price was reasonable as well. I will definitely be back to have any other maintenance done on our cars.
