Took my vehicle in for an inspection. The inspection went well and it was quick, but my tire pressure light was on and it was returned to me with the light still on. It would have taken them 5 minutes to fill my tires but I guess they just didn't feel like it. The job was done but service did not go above and beyond, they did the bare minimum and nothing else.

Joe, Nolan and Mike are fantastic. They do their very best at managing the schedule to best accommodate you. They know what customer service means, they remember their customers, are knowledgeable and experienced. Sydney was the nicest too, very sincere. They will take good care of you.

This shop is great! We were traveling home from Scranton PA to Toronto today and we had to make an emergency stop with a broken skid plate. They helped us out a lot and fixed the broken piece. What a great shop too bad they aren't located in Toronto. Highly recommended and thanks again to the shop owner and staff there! 5 stars and A+!

I would stay away from Tonawanda-Pep Boys. I got a great Black Friday deal on 4 tires ($410 total) in November so things started out well. Install went well and was done on time. However, within 10 days I was losing a lot of air from the one which can be normal if not sealed well. I took my car there in December and things started out OK as they took a look and determined it had to be re-sealed and also needed a new valve stem and sensor. I wasn't thrilled but ok with the explanation and $130 quote. However, when I went to pick-up the car I was told it was $313!!! I said what happened to the $130 quote, nobody notified me on the increase. He said well we had to do some additional work on the tire. I pressed further and he said well I can take it down to $293. I chuckled and reluctantly paid the $293 and will never go back to a dishonest business like this again!

Brought my truck there for an inspection last week but failed due to tires, which I agree, I did need some. So I got new tires put on, brought it back today, and failed again for brake system . Paid for TWO failed inspections in 1 week from this place. Would have appreciated a full inspection the first time so I didn t have to waste my time and money.

Service was friendly and efficient. Nolan was great at check in and the technician (I don't know his name) that checked me out saw me come in and stopped what he was doing to take care of me. Car was ready by the time quoted and everything was done well. I would recommend this location and look forward to coming back for future maintenance.

Needed a NYS inspection within a week. They were able to get me in same day. When I arrived, I was greeted and all the staff were very pleasant. Better yet, I was out of there in about 30 minutes! I will be returning. Highly recommend!

I had an issue with the service that I was provided. I filed a claim, but I have not heard back from the field manager after several days. Unfortunately, I feel that I was bait and switched. Receiving a lesser service for more money!

Update 04/2024: management has since changed. I don t think I ll be going to this location any time soon. I went in for new tires back in December, I waited ALL DAY, well past closing and I wasn t the only one. The manager continued to place blame elsewhere and his ETA timeframes are wildly wrong - waiting hours longer than the times I had been given. He also spent the majority of my time there telling customers how unprofessional the previous store manager was rather than helping his guys get through the jobs at a reasonable speed. I ll likely head to my dealership for the majority of work needed on my car other than an annual inspectionOriginal review 9/2023: I brought my car in recently because it was very loud inside the car while driving. They were able to repair/replace two things on my vehicle. Unfortunately, that didn t fix the issue. I called two days later and was able to go for a road test with one of the shop guys within minutes of calling to identify the ongoing issues and had the final repairs completed that afternoon. While it was frustrating that I had to bring my vehicle in twice, I m appreciative that they were responsive and quick to make me a priority.

I dropped off my sedan at 8am at Eggert Plaza Pep Boys in Tonawanda, NY. I was told by Joe it would take 2-3 hours for new tires and an alignment.I did hear anything. I called the store at 1:30p and Joe told me hopefully they could get it done today.At 4pm, they called me and said the job was complete. I picked up my car at 5pm. As soon as I left the lot, I got up to 25mph and my back left tire fell off. The tire was off its studs and lodged into the wheel well making the car un-drivable. My rim was damaged and studs bent. The lugnuts shot off into the street.I had to call the pep boys tow service to tow me back to the store within 1,000 feet. I had to wait two hours. Of course the store closed at 6pm and they wouldn t be able to work on my car till the next day.I call the next day, Joe tells me there is nothing wrong and they ll put the wheel back on. I asked to speak to Joe s manager, he says he is the manager. I ask to speak to the regional manager, he says the regional manager is on vacation.I filed a complaint with the corporate office. At this point, it s 11:30am the day after the original appointment. I call and speak with Nolan, the manager. He says he is the actual manager, and his direction is to wait until he hears from his area director.I get a call at 12:30 from Andy, the area director, he is the only one who was professional and accommodating throughout the whole ordeal. Under his direction, they replaced my wheel studs and sanded/smoothed my rim. My car was ready at 4pm.I requested full reimbursement for this headache and frustration. I had to miss work and didn t have a car for two whole days. I got the labor charges taken off my bill so I ll take my small victory. I am going to dispute the charge on my credit card because I paid for a service that was not done properly. I ll never go to Pep Boys again. Not worth the headache

UPDATE on this shop, my daughter took her 2009 Kia in for a simple oil change. $98.95 later she was taken for a ride. Given no information on what the oil change would entail. When I called to speak to someone a manager said and I quote We don t have time to sit at the counter and explain all the services we offer and what is and isn t included with said services. It s a shame that you can t trust a business to explain everything to a consumer before hand and give pricing before any work is attempted. Had my daughter been given a price before hand she would have contacted me and I would have advised her that isn t the service she was looking to have done. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU ASK ALL OF THE QUESTIONS AND GET PRICING BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY WORK DONE. I will be calling the corporate office to advise them of the standard practice at this location in hopes that they don t dupe the next unsuspecting person.

Pep Boys at 3195 Eggert Road,Tonawanda, NY 14150 has always been outstanding in service for my wife and I. The people there from mangers to the service techs are friendly, courteous and helpful in explaining the best products and services we need. From the time you call to the time you pick up your vehicle it is a pleasant experience.

Made an online appointment to have my cars oil changed and tires rotated. When I went to drop my car off at the store the service attendant at the counter seemed annoyed by my coming in. When I gave him the appointment information he told me that they couldn t get to my car for 2-3 hours because I booked the night before and the system overbooks . If that s the case why I did I get confirmation emails/texts from PepBoys? Why were there many other open spots for that day for appointments online? I ve made appointments at other PepBoy locations before in the same way and never encountered this problem. I also never received any updates about my car from the tracking link and it wasn t until I called the store 4.5 hours later to check the status of my car that they were just finishing up. What was the point of the appointment I made if it was going to take 4.5 hours to get done? When I returned to pick my car up they took a bit to find my keys and get me checked out and they seemed more interested in talking to each other. Upon getting my car, whoever serviced it left a grease/dirt spot right on the handle to the driver side door, not a big deal as my car needs to be cleaned anyways. I won t be using this location again

Made an appointment a week in advance. Was given several options gor available times. When I arrived, they informed me it would take 2 hours to do an jnspectikn and oil change. Over 4 1/2 hours later my car was finally done. My entire Saturday was wated because they decided to cram in too many vehicles and not honor my appointment times. My car should have been done by 1:00. They didn't even take it back to work on until almost 3:30. Kept calling to get an update, was put on hold and ignored. Infuriating experience. I've used Pepboys for thr last 15 years, but not anymore.

Solid service shop. 30 minute wait to have battery replaced and was 32 dollars cheaper than auto zone. It's in a shopping center with a pizza place. Plenty of ways to kill time and the waiting room is nice, newly furnished with coffee pods.They do offer military discounts of 10%

BEWARE. THEY DO NOT PROVIDE THE FREE TIRE ROTATION FOR WHICH THEY INVOICE CUSTOMERS.I brought my car in for a synthetic oil change and tire rotation. Prior to bringing it in, I marked my tires inside and outside as is my practice. Also, on a previous occasion, Pep Boys did not rotate my tires despite saying they did and invoicing me for it. ( I had them rotate them while I waited and gave them the benefit of the doubt since they are close and convenient and it was my first vist.)Upon viewing my car I noticed the tires hadn't been rotated this time either. Yet the invoice specified a tire rotation was performed and the tread depth of each tire was 5. They even invoiced for labor time on the rotation! I didnt have the luxury of sticking around this time to have them actually do the tire rotation they falsely invoiced me for, so I paid and left.This is the second time in two visits Pep Boys Eggert Rd did not rotate my tires despite invoicing me for it, which makes me believe that they just don't really do the free tire rotation.As far as the oil change, they upsell unnecessary treatments that were not recommended in my owners manual or maintenance schedule. And if the tire rotation is any indication, I wouldn't be confident they actually provided them.If youre still willing to risk doing business with these guys, chalk your tires and see for yourself. I'd also suggest measuring your tread depth too, so they can't claim they are leaving the best tires in the rear.As for me, I don't trust these guys and I wont be back.And now I'm left wondering if I actually got the synthetic oil I paid for...

This place cancelled my afternoon service appointment literally 30 minutes before the set time.The guy says they got too busy. When I made the appt earlier in the morning EVERY time slot was available in the afternoon so this is ridiculous !Goodbye Pep Boys !

Went for an oil change and NYS inspection , everyone was help full explained everything and did not try to sell anything I didn t ask for ! Awesome shop and people . I highly recommend them!

The guy at the front desk is great. He just had his vacation day, and came in to clean up everything. Managed to get me and another gentleman in on already busy day and the service technician got both of us in and out. Quickest inspection of my life. The facility is clean and all the guys were very personable and real. Definitely coming back!

Main reason for review is because I had requested tire rotation and tire pressure check. When I checked, the tire pressure when I got into my vehicle was very low on all 4 tires and rotation was not reset, so the accuracy of which tire is where is now all off.

Always great service, they are quick and always accommodating. I had to switch my appointment a few times and they had no problem helping me, and when I came and dropped the car off I told them didn't need it soon and to take time, it was still done very quickly. They have a long time customer out of me

Made an appointment. Arranged for a ride. Just need an inspection. Was willing to drop it off as long as needed. I don't drive the vehicle but I was rejected at the counter. Too busy. What? Absolutely pathetic.

Had an appointment for 8AM Manager showed up at 8:08 to open store and informed us everyone called off and they couldn't do oil changes until 10AM. I had to go somewhere else. I feel terrible for that manager.

Inspected my Mom's 2014 Chevy Cruze. Easy to make an on-line appointment to bring it in within just a few days. Friendly greeting, in and out in less than an hour, good advice on what other fixes might need to be done in the short term. Thank you!

Absolutely horrible experience. I can understand being busy and short-staffed, I can absolutly be understanding. However, I had an appointment and had to wait 3 hours for maintenance in my car to be completed. Meanwhile some cop's kid just walked in without an appointment and got his needs met while the full waiting room sat for hours. There were literally 5 other people waiting ahead of him. The guy cashing me out basically bragged about prioritizing a walk-in appointment over the scheduled folks waiting for hours. Plus, they charged me for my oil change, but didn't actually change my oil. My car started making noise today because there is no oil in my car. All customers deserve to have their time and money valued, and we should at least have the services we pay for completed on our cars.

This review does not focus on the main problem with Pep Boys: The wrong tires were put on the car. It is a simple issue/complaint.
