Where do I begin with this place. First and foremost, Tyler's Automotive Service are lucky to receive a one star review. If the rating could go on a negative scale, I would absolutely give them that. About 2 months ago, my husband sent my car to this location (which would of never been an option had I knew that's where he was taking it) to replace the ignition coil in my car. I was charged $600 for this work which was told to my husband that the work was done properly and efficiently. I had a gut feeling that this work was not done correctly because I sat and watched two mechanics go into my car, opened the hood of my car, started the car and let it run for 10 minutes. They then proceeded to press the gas while being on parked to rev the car up and drive the car around to "test" the car for smooth driving. My husband waited 10-15 minutes to pay yet they called him and told him the car was ready for pick up. I'm watching them do all this extra for a car that's supposedly is ready to be picked up and yet I see a man inserting something inside my car looking unsure what he's doing. By the time I get inside my car, I knew immediately the work wasn't done correctly. However, my husband is giving me the reassurance that my car was fixed and continue to give them the benefit of the doubt. Fast forward literally less than 2 months later, I start to have the same issue with my car and this time I had my car sent to the service center of my car manufacturer. The mechanic at my car manufacturer proceeds to tell me that wherever I went to get my car "fixed," placed an aftermarket part that didn't fit my car (complete wrong size) and forced the ignition coil damaging the sparks plug and the wires of my car. Not only that, that aftermarket part that didn't fit inside my car ended up popping off and cause my car to revert to the original issue with new damages due to Tyler's negligence and improper service. I ended up paying twice for a job that should of been done correctly the first time and then some. This location is definitely not the place to spend your money to get your car fixed. You will get robbed for your money! This place is absolutely garbage and they really think they got away with this behavior. They definitely got the wrong one. You have been warned about Tyler's Automotive Service, go at your own risk!

Tyler's always does clean, efficient and honest work. Never had to go back after a job and never had any complaints. Best of all he's open on Sundays!!!

I was working in the area, and saw all the five star reviews here along with the fact it was a Sunday, so I didn't have much a choice too, so I figured give them a try. The reviews are all accurate. Nothing but exceptional service from Don and his crew of technicians. Expect a long wait, but this is understandable due to such an influx in volume. I've never seen a mechanic this busy. They closed at 5PM, but that doesn't mean the service stops at closing time. They finished checking out my car at around 7PM -- 2 hours after closing -- and they were still far from done working on others. The other customers are friendly and I enjoyed nice conversation with them while we were all waiting for our cars to be serviced. The wait time is clearly worth it, and there is a Subway, convenience store, and other restaurants next door and across the street for your convenience.I stopped in to get an overdue oil change done, replace a fog light and brake light, and to investigate the ABS light appearing on and off in my car. Don and his crew replaced both lights exceptionally and performed the oil change, and pinpointed the ABS light to an extremely loose bearing on the back right tire to the point the tire was going to fall off. I confirmed this with another mechanic I trust, who said the same thing. If I lived nearby, I would have went through with the bearing repair, which was priced reasonable too, as it was only $5 more than another mechanic I trust, but I live in out of state so Don needed to order the part, and I needed my car back asap for work. Don knew what the problem was with the ABS light, and even connected his computer to verify as well.I would highly recommend Tyler's Auto Service. Great place for a pit stop and an awesome mechanic experience like no other.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto maintenance, Oil change

Spent 4 hours on 3 separate incidents, sitting in the line waiting for someone to look at my car. Sitting now for an hour waiting for someone to take my tow hooks off, nothing doing. And this is after waiting 30 mins yesterday till someone told me to 'come tomorrow '...

I have been coming here since I moved to Rockland in 02. The owner and his wife are the kindest, most honest people you can find. They have no interest in ripping you off, and no matter if you come in there with a Mercedes or a beat up 92 Eagle Premier, they will treat you with the same respect. The work is done quickly, efficiently, and well. I trust no one else with my car. Hope they re around for a long, long time.

I have been bringing my cars to Tyler's Automotive for over 10 years. Feels good to know that I'm always in good hands when I bring my car here. Tyler is the ONLY mechanic that I trust. He and his wife are extremely kind and knowledgeable. The service is reasonably priced and always reliable. They will never talk you into something that you don't need. A++++!!!!!

My brother recommends this place and says they are honest and straight with you. I've come here twice so far, once when I was in a minor car accident, and the second time when my car was driving funny and it turned out I needed new tires. One tire had a leak and another place said they couldn't fix it and I would need a new tire, but Tyler's fixed it just fine and that was it. They don't push anything on you, just do the work you came there for. Friendly guy who runs the place and fair prices. Would recommend, they really know cars.

I got a flat going to work on a TV set nearby from the city. I hobbled here on a donut after work right before closing, and they were super nice and put on a new tire in like half an hour. I was an hour from home in Astoria and thanks to this shop I got to have dinner with my fianc�e instead of getting an Uber to a hotel. Lovely people, thanks for your help!

It is said: "Do not let go of an honest mechanic, because they're few and far between" (that's a loose quote of the line that I don't know). The sentiment though, is very real. I don't know what the actual cost plus labor on the "lateral fetzer-valve gasket replacement" should be... do you?Don and his wife are not only kind people, he is the most honest mechanic out there. A pleasure to work with. He is accessible and available to give answers where you'd be ignored by others.

Tyler is amazing, gets the job done without overcharging you. I feel comfortable going to him because as a woman many autobody shops & mechanics have taken advantage of the fact that I know nothing about cars...I drive in from Brooklyn to get service from him.

Don is very knowledgeable with cars. You are usually in and out quickly (unless they need to order parts. And you leave your car there it will take time to get done).

Tyler's Automotive is an icon in our neighborhood. Fair and honest businessman. And he gets the job done. You wouldn't have to worry that you're getting ripped off. Trustworthy!

Was able to get me in the same day and actually listened to me when I said the problem was the alternator. Didn't try to tell me I was wrong just because I was a woman or over charge me. Will be going back!

Services at Tyler's are what he says they will be. No hidden surprises. His estimates are not far from the actual price.
