I recently purchased a near perfect mustang GT with a Roush supercharger package in my favorite color. However, the car had cloth seats. I simply hate cloth seats. I stopped by Smithtown Auto Trim and spoke with Al. Al was incredibly helpful and professional and took his time to explain my options. They installed the leather with stitching that matched the door panels and other parts. In short, it came out amazing. It looks and smells incredible and it completely transformed the interior. If you are on the fence if installing leather is worth the cost I would strongly suggest that it is. For a reasonable cost it is like you are sitting in a new car on a showroom floor. You can't go wrong with the guys at Smithtown Auto Trim. Very professional and superb craftsmanship.

When I brought my Mustang to Al and company, my convertible was leaking and there was a pool of water at the bottom of my car. The crew at Smithtown Auto dried out my car, cleared all of the water draining plumbing and then restored my car to beauty. They installed a new cloth top, new interior carpets, fixed my drivers seat that was literally falling apart at the seams, had my rims recoated and color corrected the finish. I had a major leak in my car-my carpets were saturated with water. My air conditioning line was leaking onto the floor of my car . The entirety of the floor of the car was saturated .I went to Smithtown Toyota who wanted to charge me for all kinds of stuff that I didn't need. I left Toyota , borrowed a wet dry vac and did what I could to get out as much water as I was able to and went to a couple different places to see about getting the carpet taken out and cleaned. It smelled horrible and the carpet was still saturated .* I was referred to Smithtown Auto Trim.Al the owner, was a gentleman .He diagnosed the problem accurately and took apart my car,assessed what needed to be done to make sure I had no moisture, mildew, or damage, and put everything back together.He was honest, fair, and straightforward.I especially appreciate him taking the time to explain to me what the problem was and how to prevent it . When I got my car back, it smelled good and my carpets were clean and dry.I appreciate his professionalism.I will never go back to Toyota again.What I learned today is that if you want a professional job done, you bring it to a professional -and that is Al. Thank you Al!I would definitely recommend Smithtown Auto Trim.

Recently had the convertible top replaced on my newly purchased 2005 Mustang at Smithtown Auto Trim. During the estimate visit, Al was extremely patient and informative. Before and after the job, Al offered excellent advise on care of the top and other items related to the car. Their workmanship and customer service is excellent. They go above and beyond and are more than accommodating, like a ride from the train station to retrieve my car. Highly recommended!9-23-23Brought my Mustang back for a minor issue. Al and Matt addressed the issue quicky without question. Not only is their skill level excellent so is their customer service! Highly recommended for anything from a classic car to a high end luxury car.

Pro's:True professionals with an emphasis on quality.One of the reviews here mentioned that Al and Matt (the owners) are old school car guys. That they are, but it's a bit of an understatement, they're more than that.These guys are highly skilled Craftsman, the kind that are unusually difficult to find today.They expertly rebuilt the ventilated seat cushion on my Lexus and replaced leather seat panels that were unavailable from the dealer. The seat feels and looks new. Superior work, outstanding customer service and fair pricing.This is a clean, organized, well run shop, run by two of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of doing business with.Go here to be impressed, they'll exceed your expectations.Highly recommended.

Al and his team did a great job on my 1968 Barracuda. They went above and beyond. What started as a simple seat upholstery and carpet job turned into a little fabrication work, some seat restoration and much more. There were never any surprises, and the cost for this quality work seems like a bargain when you see the end result. I am so grateful to have found them. I spotted a slice on leather drivers seat of my Audi. I met with Al, he was very honest and offered me a few ways to fix it. I chose to do it the right way and replace the whole shell of leather from Audi. Al found the leather shell quickly and gave a fair price to install it. I just picked it up and it is flawless! VERY VERY Happy I found these guys.2012 Camaro Convertible had issues fully closing. Brought it to Chevy....they couldn't do anything....there was a service bulletin issued for this issue back in 2013 that i was not made aware of and from there, the design changed and parts were not available.Matt and Al took the time to investigate and figure things out before committing to anything.Figured it all out, found a replacement roof that had the parts needed and got it take care of! Better than new!Great guys, the whole team and felt very comfortable from the time i walked in. would definitely recommend!

I needed to have my interior roof liner secured, all the glue had let go. Al and Matt looked at my 2013 Volvo ahead of time, quoted me a price and then did the work expertly. I will NEVER have this issue again! AND they cleaned the interior of my car before they turned it over to me - what a great business idea! Al and Matt are great-- friendly, skilled! They took excellent care of me and my car. My car had damages inside to the fabric of the roof and the carpet from work done at another business. Al reassured me that everything would turn out perfect-- and it did. He communicates well, did excellent work, and ensured that I was happy with the finished product. He answered all of my questions and even stayed late for me to pick up my car after a crazy day at work so that I didn't have to wait until the next day. Matt and Al are old school car guys who take pride in their work which is hard to find these days. I travelled over 100 miles to their shop and I am glad I did. They removed the simcon roof on my 2010 dts repaired the rear glass and replaced the roof. Excellent job, would recomend them highly.

I have a 1997 Jeep Wrangler that, over time, had relatively no cushion left in the drivers side seat. Al suggested pulling back the seat cover and replacing the seat cushion. It was a terrific idea. I now have a seat that is as good as new. They even repaired a rip in the seat cover that I didn't even know I had! Al and his staff did a great job for a fair price. It was done when he said it would be done. I would recommend Smithtown Auto Trim even if you don't leave nearby. It will well worth the trip!Services: Seat rebuilds, Upholstery repair

Yesterday I had the pleasure of having the fabric replaced on the front seat to my 2013 Honda Civic, which included the cushion and rear back. Al and Matt are truly experts and possess a high degree of skills. The service experience from the time I received the estimate to the completion of the job was absolutely excellent. The workmanship was outstanding. The job was complicated, however, Al and Matt completed the work within a few hours. The repaired front seat is as good as new, if not better! The shop is very neat and organized as well as the repairs and work performed in my car was very neat and clean. Carpet was vacuumed and my car is better then new.Al focuses on a high level of excellent customer service and support and goes above and beyond to satisfy his customer. I would highly recommend Smithtown Auto Trim for any and all of your interior repairs. You will rarely find a repair shop that does expert, quality work at a fair price while ensuring the satisfy the customer. Our 2009 damaged leather seat looks brand new thanks to Al and Matt. They only had to match and sew in the side piece but it matches perfectly and looks like new. Al knows his stuff. He's a talker, but it's no BS. He's been doing this for over thirty years and some things are better left to the professionals like him. He'll explain how it needs to be done and how it's going to last. Yeah sorry, no DIY at-home patch kits are gonna come close to what Al and Matt do there. Great job guys!Service: Seat rebuilds

Al and his team did their best to fix a situation caused by the idiots at safelite down the road in St James. My car, a saab is hard to find parts for. Al really did a great job fixing the the damaged vinyl on my door panel and window seal. It was all done in about 2 hours. A part that needed to be ordered, he even covered the cost when it was easier for me to order it myself and said that he'll install it for me no problem when it comes in. His level of quality and service is excellent. Attention to detail is a huge priority as is how the customer is treated. Besides the high quality work, Al went out of his way to make me feel like I was the only customer that the shop had. So great was the experience with this, I'll be back to have the seat repaired once the warm weather comes.

I was lucky to find Al and Matt. I had a problem with my dash board, and then someone recommended them very highly. I took the car down to the shop, and in 2 hours he had it completely repaired and it looks like new. I will highly recommend them to anyone who needs help with their car, and I think they will be very satisfied as I was.

I had the door panels of my 2009 mustang refurbished by Smithtown Auto trim and they did a fantastic job. The work looks like a factory upgrade and the new look should have been a dealership option when the car was originally sold. I will definitely be bringing my car back for any future interior work.

Al and the guys at Smithtown auto Trim are very professional, There work has always exceeded my expectations I ve been using this company for years and if you want something done right this is the place to go, i ve had seat repaired in my ford I have had wave runner seats custom-made and other cushions for other various items I am very particular about my toys. These guys are great!!!

I brought my Dodge Challenger to the shop for an Katzkin upholstery installation which I purchased separately back in August 2020. The interior came out great and the leather looked like it came from the factory. The customer service was spot on along with the quoted price. However, my driver s heated seat no longer worked. My console was not put back together properly and my shift lever was loose. These minor problems were fixed after I bought it to a dealership. In all fairness, taking apart a modern car is a pain in the rear but at the same time, it is part of the service I am paying for. Once again, the interior came out close to perfect and that is what matters most.Service: Upholstery installation

How often do you find a place you can put your complete trust in to take the kind of care you would provide for your car? I left my Solara convertible of 17 years ownership for a new top and came home with it looking like new. Can t say enough about Al and crew who gave me sound advice and even came up with a Toyota service bulletin circa 2002 on my car they remembered and corrected that defect that was never addressed. Simply the best!

Smithtown Auto Trim did an amazing job on reupholstering the seats in my car which were badly damaged. Al and his crew made the seats look brand new as well as cleaned up the whole interior of the car. Good prices and deals. Knowledgeable and experienced staff. Very happy with the service. Engine issues arose and had to place my order on hold, not an issue. Ask for Al, great guy. Gave me a tour and even showed their work and explained everything thoroughly. I have several classic cars and will be going back here whenever I need some work done.
