My experience with this car restoration service was a total letdown. Chuck, the so-called expert, turned out to be a real disappointment. I handed over two classic cars and got back a load of problems. One car sat there collecting dust for ages, only to be rushed through when Chuck felt like it. And surprise, it came back with a bunch of promised fixes left undone. The other car? Well, it came back with more issues than when I dropped it off. Chuck kept promising to fix things but never bothered. Excuses about "making room" in the shop became old fast. Communication dropped, and now I'm stuck with regrets. Save yourself the headache and steer clear of this place.

BEWARE! This guy Chuck is a liar and a con man. I brought TWO of my classic cars to him for repairs and restoration. He charged me tens of thousands of dollars. One of my cars he had for a year and a half and for most of that time it sat there untouched and then he did a rush job when he decided he wanted the car out of there. He delivered it back to me without having done a huge list of things he promised to do. The other car was delivered back to me with more problems than when I first brought it to him. He promised he would get the cars back into the shop and make good on the items that were not done/not done properly but he never did. He strung me along for over a year saying he had to make room in the shop by getting other cars out. Eventually he stopped answering my calls and texts. See you in court, Chuck!

I bought my 1970 Oldsmobile 98 to Auto Restoration of Long Island. Chuck and his son did some work on my car. He did an excellent job replacing the intake manifold gasket, He also replaced the rear brakes shoes. They replaced the muffler. The muffler pipes had a few leaks, which was a very minor issue. Tate rebuild my carburetor,but it wouldn't idle correctly at all. Chuck and his son Tate ordered me another carburetor from Jats Carburetor Co. Chuck and his son gave me the new carburetor from jats . The new carburetor they gave me had a few issues that not Chuck fault. My friend was able to make repairs to the new carburetor. Now the engine runs and idle very smoothly . Even though Chuck charged me a huge deposit up front. He also doesn't have a great amount of patience. But I give him some credit because he will stand by his work. Tate, on the other hand have a lot of patience and is very professional and pleasant.

I judged the process by all past car experiences now nothing about restoration the car was picked up in March and finished and returned in November I had not experience with this. With this process you don t know how much it s going to cost until the final bill this world of restoration was new to me. Many times i wanted to quit seek the car or give up. Being completely in the dark about completion date and final price we re new to me and the final bill was not small. $50@k new engine ,new suspension,new transmission New radiator ,fuel lines at the end of the day I ve discovered from this experience that one has to just open their check book take down their calendar and just understand this is an expensive hobby. At the end this 1975 corvette cost more to restore than its market value but its a mechanic s are brand new. Next summer the interior

Zero stars as this has been one of the worst if not the worst experiences we ve had with any business. We brought in our 1966 mustang to have a few updates in January. Unfortunately paid a large sum upfront. It was promised to be completed by summer. Over 2 years later we still did not have our car back. As you can imagine our patience all but ran out especially when Chuck (the owner) went mia for several weeks. Not returning calls or texts. When we finally got our car back. One by one it started breaking down. Each time we took it to our local shop who told us, and sent pictures, of everything that was done incorrectly. From missing parts to loose bolts and screws. Since we ve had it back we haven t been able to drive it at all. We learned a very costly lesson. So please run fast away from this company.

Chuck and his team were trustworthy, excellent in the work they did and mad my 64 Corvette an amazing car.I would not use another restorer with my cars.Services: Exhaust, Air conditioning

I called Auto Restoration of Long Island after seeing positive reviews online for much needed mechanical work on my Torino. The owner, Chuck let me bring the car in on the same day and they went to work. The car was thoroughly inspected by the team and a long list of repairs were done which included engine, suspension, brakes and exhaust, among other things. The car was ready in a short time and the vehicle is operating the way it should and sounds great. I am pleased with the work.

I have a rare low mileage old school Honda that unfortunately developed some rust.Called Auto Restoration of Long Island to make an appointment to get a quote, the guy on the phone dismissed me and said the car was junk, they don't work on imports, the sheet metal is flimsy, don't waste his time or my money on it... heh, wow.I didn't ask for this guys opinion, and frankly it's none of his business what I want to spend my money on. Not that it matters but the car is worth over $20k if the rust were repaired, but apparently that is not valuable enough for their time.Also, sometimes it's not about the money. I was willing to pay twice the value of the car to fix this specific one if necessary.Anyway, I guess make sure your car is worth at least six digits and is made in America before calling this place.

Chuck and Tom performed stock/custom-engine/body work to my 1963 Mercedes Benz Unimog. Not an easy task. Finished product is perfect, Chuck did the right thing. It's going to the east end of Long Island for fun and good times. John

I just gotten off the phone with Chuck the owner, Can't believe how easy going he was,Chuck spoke with me like we have been do business for years (Lol)I had a few questions about my project (Auto) And he "Chuck" shared some good answers & tips ,,,Man I was blown away by he's patient and response, I will be checking his business (Auto shop out in the near future) believe that

Chuck you need to pay your bills, transported a car to you and you wrote a check that has bounced. Multiple phone calls and you have yet to make good on the money you owe.

Called them up looking for an estimate. The person I spoke to was rude and sounded like he didn't want to be bothered then hung up on me. I don't need to deal with trash I'll do it myself.
