I was surprised to find Smitty s charges $150/ hour for any kind of service. I received no phone call confirming my towed vehicle had arrived, as they said they would, and no estimate call before being charged over $250 for service. Make sure you know what you re getting into here.

Clean professional establishment, just Dropped off my Vintage collectable vehicle for timing chain service ... Rep was very knowledgeable about vehicle and answered all my questions Profesionaly and had all specialized tools on hand for the job... Very Impressive so far ...

Trust Keith, Will and the team with my cars. Had to have my escape towed there today. They diagnosed and fixed the problem, had my car back in 7 hrs. Great service, highly recommend.Update: was in a jam with my car battery dying today, they fit me in last minute before holiday weekend and set me up with a new one. I've had my cars serviced at Smitty's Garage for about 10 years. I have been very pleased with the service I received. Repair options are offered if possible. Prices quoted before work begins and the cars have been repaired promptly. I haven't met anyone that wasn't happy with the work they had done there. I would recommend them.Had an appointment for a NYS inspection today. Car was looked at right away and i was out of there within 30 minutes. Great service!

Do not go to this garage !!!!! I have just been robbed! My daughter and I very clearly explained that we were not prepared to invest money her 2007 vehicle. We would like the car looked at, but we did not want to necessarily move forward with repairs to a fuel line issue if it was going to be expensive. We called the garage a few times because they never checked back with us. They said that they've already worked on the car for about an hour and they probably had many hours left to simply diagnose the problem. I had them stop immediately! I was confused why they thought that we would spend several hundred dollars just to get an answer on something that we may not fix. Clearly they are crooks. I was charged $158 without a single indication of what is wrong with my car. If it was going to cost a lot of money to diagnose, they should've told me upfront because I wouldn't have left the car there at all. They didn't deserve any money but I did offer to pay half just end this but they refused. My daughter who is quite intelligent in fact, was insulted by this garage. They said, "They can't help it if my daughter is not bright!" They continued to say, "If a special-needs person comes to the garage, it is not up to them to explain the details of what they would do. They would simply charge that special needs person even if there was a lack of understanding. Not my job not my problem." There is so many garages out there. You certainly don't need to go to this one! awful mechanics, an awful human beings.

I've been taking my cars here for a few years now. The mechanics and owner is always friendly, and do their job at a very reasonable price. The one time that I experienced a problem, the owner personally handled it quickly and efficiently with a positive attitude. My car started shaking and all the warning lights came up on my dashboard. Luckily, I was less than a mile from Smitty's Garage when it happened. They were extremely busy and were honest that they might not get my car fixed. I left it there overnight and I was so happy to get a call from them the next day that it was FIXED and ready to be picked up. I also wasn't pressured into fixing things that I didn't need. My 67 Oldsmobile Toronado needed work,but I didn't know any trust worthy mechanics in the area. Until Smittys arrived. They repaired my car of its many problems, and now runs better than ever.

They have been awesome since my vehicle went in and have been very good at communicating every step. They even have a text number that sends estimates it was a great experience. I probably spoke to every person in the shop over the past couple weeks and they were all very helpful and clear about everything. No BS. I've had my 2010 Nissan QX56 off the road for a couple years and was security locked. I was told by a couple mechanics to go to the dealer before smittys was recommended. I saved a bundle and they did the right thing for the overall of the job. Last but not least I was recognized as a veteran and that goes a long way they even rounded down the final cost for that reason alone. Very sand up place with multiple stand up individuals working there. Highly recommend.

Brought car down for diagnostic of Intermittent engine light , they suggested leaving car few days so they could find cause, took 2 days but found culprit, told me straight up cost to repair and did repair quickly and made sure all was good before returning car. Last week was my first visit to the shop. I had my brakes done by another shop and It didn t feel right. I came to Smitys and they did an unbelievable job. My truck feels as it should, great. Hands down the best shop around here.

Took my car there for oil change, inspection, and minor repair. All services were performed quickly, effectively, and professionally. Prices were more than fair. Highly recommend, especially if you used to go to Branch Auto Care.

A good, reliable, friendly and honest mechanic is hard to find these days. When you go to Smitty's you find exactly that! I am thrilled with the service I have received from Keith and the staff at Smitty's. His prices are reasonable and the work is done quickly. Highly recommend!!

Smitty's is great.. I come here from 3 towns over because the owner and the guys who work there know their stuff.. are always honest.. and seem to just be cranking all the time but always seem to get your stuff down in a reasonable time. The shop is small but they just got a bigger place in setauket and i look forward to bringing my business there as well when they are fully up and running.

Found this shop through a local Facebook group that I am a part of. I will absolutely not go anywhere else with my vehicles. Their service is quick reliable and their pricing is excellent. I highly recommend trying this place out for at least a quote, you will not be disappointed. Will, who handles most of the communication there is a pleasure to deal with.

I Took my Chevy Suburban to Smitty's new location on Belle Mead Road in Setauket on 1.3.2021 for rear brakes and oil change. Quick turn around and very reasonable. Happy that I have a new go to mechanic. Highly recommend!Services: Tires, Brakes, Oil changeServices: Tires, Brakes, Oil change
