Nick & staff have gone above and beyond to fix my Nissan when I need repairs. I go to them for everything my car needs because they are trustworthy & do high quality work. I recommend them to anyone who asks because these guys are the best!

Nick, Damon, and crew have always been wonderful to me. When I was 16 with a broken down rusty 1956 Pontiac and clueless about mechanics, they did many jobs for me to keep me on the road and taught me many things along the way. Now I am 26 with another much better 1956 Pontiac, regardless they always respected both of my cars not only through compliments but making sure the job was done right, no greasy door handles, no hose clamps or belts or electrical connections left loose, ensuring a secure environment when my car had to stay overnite or for a few weeks at a time, etc. Never once pulled away from this shop with dirty tires, and old parts are saved to show they did the work though I never doubted it anyways. Now I do most of my own work but for what I can't do, I still bring it to Nick and the gang. Highly recommend for new cars and ESPECIALLY older cars. There's only a handful of shops I approve of and Schenectady Auto is one of the top 3! They took their time to get to my car. And when they did it took about a week to finish the harnessing. After they were done with the work it took them 6 months for me to get my car back. And when I got my car all the parts were in the back seat of my vehicle. And the bumper was completely taken apart. Every time I called about my car and when I can have it back in one piece Damon kept complaining about manpower and how he needs more people. Honestly I would never recommend the services of Schenectady auto services to anybody else. They are very unprofessional and lack any type of regard for anybody else s propertyService: Electrical repair

Nick and his team are fantastic. I would recommend them highly. They are trustworthy, professional, polite and totally customer-focused. I never worry that they are overcharging for any of the services they perform. They are incredibly honest. Fantastic company! We re so grateful that they re close to our home - we are happy to give them our business. A+++++! The check engine light lit up and the car started running rough. I brought it in for a diagnosis and it ended up being a bad sensor (along with a few other issues I was already aware of - gasket, spark plugs). I did some research and everything points to these guys being very knowledgeable and competent about the issue. They also provided transportation to and from. The repairs were completed in one day and the car still runs and feels great after 3-4 weeks of driving. Pricing was fair and I would highly recommend. I will be returning for any issues in the future. Nick was very professional and addressed my issues without a problem. Ive brought my infinity here before, the work, the clean vehicle after, all impressed me. I usually do my own work because its hard to trust anyone nowadays. I felt my vehicle was in great hands and again im very satisfied and will def be back.

If i could put 0 stars i would. Was charged $500 for nothing my car was still having the same issues. I have a paper full of "things" they claimed they did. I usually do my own mechanics most of the time. Dude ripped me off now im stuck spending more Money to find a issue they was supposed to fix.

I've been using Schenectady Auto for all 3 of our vehicles. Whether a complicated job such as putting a new engine in a classic car, a simple oil change and maintenance, new tires, brakes, and mysterious foreign car issues, Schenectady Auto is reliable, professional, and the only place I take my vehicles.The shops owner, Nick is a straight shooter when it comes to quotes and cost. Damon Adam, mechanic, does amazing work. Last year he handled all the modifications and installation of a new engine in my 67 Skylark. This was a tremendous job, but he did great.Most recently, I blew a tire at the crack of dawn on the thruway. I was able to get towed right to the shop and have my car back the next morning. It would have been same day if I had more common tires.I highly recommend Schenectady Auto.Services: Carburetor cleaning, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Brakes, Oil change

I was out of town for work, about 6 hours from home and my brakes started making a funny noise. Stopped in a couple places and no one would even look at, one place told me to call Schenectedy Auto. I spoke with Damon explained my situation and he told me to bring it right over. He looked at it, told me what the issue was and that it was safe to drive and nothing was wrong. For people who don't travel can not understand what a relief it was to know that nothing was wrong with my car. Thank you Damon!!Service: Brakes

The most HONEST mechanics I've ever met! They are so nice and always treats you great! Thank You for helping my sister when other mechanics cheated her out of her money you guys were fair and helped her with her car and got the job done! THANK You so much! I recommend them to anybody because they are very honest and that is very rare in today's world!Update: They are still Awesome!!!!

I've been taking my Prius to Schenectady Auto for 6 years. Ever since I stopped in to have them check my tire pressure when that "dummy" light went on. Nick checked my pressure and didn't even charge me. Nick recently did some repairs on my sister's truck. That day she called, excitedly telling me about what great service she received at a good price and thanking me for recommending Schenectady Auto Service. In the past I ve had my oil changed and tires rotated here and had an excellent experience and decided to go back again to have a Trans fluid flush done. I am so glad I did. They didn t try to sell me anything I didn t need, and I paid a fair price for parts and labor. After having the flush done I really don t think my car has ever driven better than it does now. Even when I first test drove it. Damon let me know he drove my car a couple miles after the work was done to make sure everything shifted smoothly like it should. He was super helpful and easy to talk to and treated me like a real person which is rare for mechanic shops these days. I will not hesitate to keep bringing my car here in the future. 10/10.

My family has been trusting Nick at Schenectady Auto Service for over a decade! He's always honest and his prices, fair. Oh sure we could find a street mechanic that could do the job for half the price but the work would be shoddy and never guaranteed.... a few years back we had a Subaru Forester Turbo we purchased a new that required upkeep after the dealer warranty expired . Schenectady Auto Service I've never worked on a Subaru prior to our bringing our Forester there , instead of sending a Phelps where Nicks Schenectady Auto went out of his way to educate one of his text on Subaru's in particular so that they could work on our vehicle ... if that's not customer service I don't know what is! Certainly earned our loyalty! With Nick if you need a valve cover gasket then that's what you need that's what you get and that's what you pay for not like some of these other places where you go in for one thing and leave spending thousands on things you never needed in the first places......ahhhhchoo...(Mavis Discount Tire) lol. 11 out of 10 customer service and expected price and cost I highly recommend Schenectady Auto Service. Go see Nick and tell him Emily sent you!

Absolutely the best! No one else can touch my truck not even for an oil change. The prices are always fantastic and his work is top notch. Never had a single issue. I would recommend to anyone!

Always the BEST of the BEST !!!! I would NEVER go anywhere else !!! I've been coming here for years and I don't even live in the area ! Schenectady Auto is TOP NOTCH !! Nick the Owner is always caring,considerate of your needs. So trust worthy which is most important and does the best job ! From oil change to major work ! I wouldn't look further ! This is your Hometown mechanic!

Overcharged for their shotty work not once but TWICE. last week my boyfriend broke down on the side of the highway only two months after they installed an alternator and charged him 6 hours labor. Both invoices had different hours worked but were charged the same. We called dozens of garages and consulted friends, family and coworkers who all told us it shouldn t be more than 3 hours labor max. My boyfriend tried reasoning with the guy and he was condescending and shut him down. Don t go here or else you ll be out over $600 bucks on the side of the highway :)

Nick and his mechanics work wonders where others stumble and fail.He investigated an ABS failure on my car and decided it was better for me to take it to the VW dealer. His charge to me? Zero. He said, "I didn't do anything."I go back to him for rear brakes in a couple of days...It is good to have him in the business.

I went to Schenectady Auto service to have a catalytic converter and 2 upstream oxygen sensors replaced they suggested that I do the 2 downstream oxygen sensors as well I did not do that because they never came up in a diagnostic and they were fairly new when I got my car back the next day the engine light was still on so they decoded it and it went off when I drove approximately one third of a mile the light pops back on again and I said to myself that is weird usually the light doesn't come back on until I have driven 60 to 80 miles and that's only "IF" there is still a problem so I bought the car to one of the mechanics on my job who was so kind to look underneath the car for me he went underneath the car he came back out and said pass me my phone I said why what's wrong I passed him his phone he took a picture came back out and showed me that one of my oxygen sensors the downstream that they suggested I replace as well was unplugged that's why the light pop back on so quickly they unplugged my oxygen sensor I'm assuming so that I could come back to them and have that purposely caused problem fixed, a simple fix at my expense people please read all the reviews even the bad ones and make a conscious decision when dealing with this place they overcharge they definitely overcharged me and they're running a scam, to all the older customers if you have been going to them for years and found yourself having to continue going back with problem after problem please take heed to this review, tampering with people's cars is a felony and I will definitely be reporting this shop to the department of motor vehicle in order to write this review I had to give them one star I don't even give them that please be careful

Check engine light was on. Made an appointment and brought it in. I was told what was wrong and how much it'll cost. Very straightforward and business like. I appreciate this place!

My family and I have been coming to Schenectady Auto for years and they are one of the best if not the best mechanic shop I have ever been to. Before I knew about Schenectady Auto I was recommended to use another shop that charged me over $500 and still didn't fix the problem. I talked to my Dad about it and he recommended Schenectady Auto and they fixed it for $100! When I decided to move to Florida I brought my car there to prepare for the long trip and it made it down with no problem which is a feat because my car is not in the best of condition. And even after I was down in Florida I called and asked for some insight and advice with a potential car issue and Nick Jr. actually spent quite a bit of time explaining things to me and he provided awesome help. I'd normally expect a mechanic to rush me off the phone especially since I wouldn't be bringing my car in any time soon being in Florida, but that was not even remotely the case. At Schenectady Auto they are absolutely stellar mechanics and people. I can't stay enough good things about them!

As someone who doesn't know a weeble wrench from a goring socket, I need a mechanic I can trust. Nick Falvo is THE MAN. He and his team always do their very best to help me keep costs down and keep my old car running. They tell me what I absolutely need to do and what can wait. And they always go a step beyond in service. Nick is the best mechanic I've ever known, and one of the nicest guys.

Always a great experience, Nick and his team go out of their way to provide great customer service and getting the job done. Fair prices and I never feel like I am being taken advantage of like I have in the past with other auto services.

I had been trying to find a shop that could get me in for a worn wheel bearing but had no luck. Then a friend told me to try Schenectady Auto Service and they got me in that week and had it done by time I got out of work. They are very friendly and professional. I will definitely bring my car back when it needs to be serviced.

I had a great experience with this company, I brought my car in for what I thought would be major surgery and only a few hours later got the call that it was already done, the problem was simpler and cheaper than I could have imagined. These guys took great care of me and will definitely be getting my business from now on.
