Went to jays with the recommendation from my family (grandparents, aunt, uncles and cousins all go here) and I m so glad I took their advice! Wonderful customer service and takes great care of his customers. Honest pricing, I went in expecting to spend a lotttt more money than I ended up spending. He s my mechanic moving forward!

On my way home from buying a truck from a private owner in Amsterdam I broke down on the highway, the hose to the radiator let loose and needless to say I needed a tow. We looked up for the closest garage and Jay's was it. He promptly came and towed the truck to his garage, and being from out of state I had to wait for it to be fixed. So, instead of making me wait till afternoon Jay went right to work on it and got me on my way home. Thank you very much Jay!!Fred from CT

Excellent service! First time here for my NYS inspection. I was about 10 minutes early. They had me in and out in under 15 minutes. They took my vehicle in immediately. I also called the morning of (I m a last-minute vehicle person ) they and got me in within hours. I have been going to Jay's for about 5 years to service my vehicle. Any time I have had an issue it has been addressed. They are very nice and professional and let you know about the issue at hand and if other issues may show up down the line. I cannot recommend them enough!

I will be coming back here in the future for all my car maintenance/repair needs. They were nothing but professional, fixing my exhaust system at a fraction of the price other shops would of charged me. Trust me I searched high and low in my area and they were the only ones that would do it at a reasonable price and in an extremely timely manner I might add.. seriously I came in last minute at the end of the day and they were able to quickly get my vehicle into the shop and give me an estimate on the spot. I had it the next day around lunchtime. Lastly, they were honest about it. Labor costs were clearly marked up front and when I got my bill I noticed they only charged me for 1 and a half hours of work when they could of easily up charged to that 2 hour mark. Don't bother with other shops like Midas or Monroe. Just head straight to this shop to avoid the stress and headache of others.Service: Exhaust

I've had Jay and his shop do work on my families vehicles before. Never any issues. Always professional, reasonable and timely. About a week ago I called Jays for some help with getting old plates off a new car. The moment I pulled in. Drill in hand and a plan to get it done was already initiated. Not only did the plates get removed within minutes but I wasn't charged a dime for the time or effort and on top of that the kindness to my son and I was remarkable. I will continue to go see Jay for all my automotive repair needs. He has done what all businesses should do, put the customer first not the money. Thanks again Jays Auto.

Used Jay for quite a few years. Superb service - Fair and Honest!! Never had to bring car back after work was done. Was very clever when he needed to make something work to fix a problem. I have lived in Florida for 3 years now.....This is truly one of the few things I miss about NY. Having a mechanic you can trust is worth a ton of money. Thanks to Jay and Mike - !!!

Called on a whim to see if I could get in for an Inspection and oil change during an unexpected free lunch hour. I live near by but have never used this shop. They said they could fit me in so I went right there. Efficient, thorough and reasonably priced. Glad I decided to give em a shot, wish I did sooner!

My son borrowed my 2016 Acura to drive over from NH. The brakes had started rubbing and squealing over the Green Mountains in VT. I had to find a place to repair the car before his return trip. Jay's was well-reviewed so I called them up. They managed to get us in over Christmas holidays on short notice, repaired the brakes, and had car ready same day. What a life-saver to handle service for an out-of-town customer! We appreciated it very much! Great work and price was fair and reasonable.

The mechanics here do great work. Prices are reasonable and management effectively comunicates with their customers. They have handled rather difficult jobs from easy oil changes with good turnaround time.

I am from Connecticut just bought a new truck and had issues on the way home Jay himself stopped what he was doing to make time for me, made me a priority fixed my truck within an hour and sent me on my way.Excellent quality amazing performance and above all treated my problem like it was his own. Jay's been working on my vehicles since the late 90's, I moved 40 minutes out of town a few years ago and I still bring my pick-up there for service. I've always received quality service and Jay and the crew treat you right.

Jay's Certified Auto Repair is today's equivalent of what businesses and garages used to be in providing it's customers that family friendly small town service with a smile. We've had numerous typical maintenance, inspections, brakes and new sets of tires all done through Jay's and each time we were treated as family, and provide with more then competitively priced service, on time, and without any surprises that Many Garages seem to pull once your at their mercy. Not at Jay's. The Greater Rotterdam/Schenectady Area should be proud of the hometown service that Jay's provides to its customers, both to first timers and long time clients. Check around, but you'll find yourself back at Jays!

Being new to the area, I found Jay's Certified Auto Repair through a Google search. I spoke with two staff members (including Jay) about what I needed -- both were knowledgeable, were thorough in their explanations, and gave me options on my repair. The repair was done in a timely manner, and Jay spent time afterward to answer some of the questions I had about the future maintenance of my vehicle. I'd certainly recommend this shop to others!

Last year I brought my 1965 Mustang into Jay's for some engine work after having some bad experiences with another local repair shop.. It's not easy finding places that are knowledgeable in carburetors and classic car engines.. I brought it to "the other" place 2 time for an issue and gave up so I thought I would try Jay's.. Best decision I have made in years. They will be my Mustangs doctors for as long as I own her... I also bring my Sant� Fe there. The service is beyond outstanding! I am glad I gave them a try!!

I would never bring my car to these people,I had a leak from the nipple thar goes into the hose of my radiator took me literally 2 minutes to diagnose, there saying I need a new radiator and water pump just trying to gouge me for labour and parts I didn't need,took to guyanese mechanic and he fixed with j.b weld and charged me nothing, these losers charged me 69 dollars to lie to me ,I would never bring a car here all they do is rip everyone off heard them on the phone telling a customer how the job is soooo hard and expensive, there just rip offs .Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, General repairs & maintenance

I've had three different vehicles fixed and inspected at Jay's weathered they're doing maintenance, oil changes or inspections they're always polite honest and do great work!

I must agree that the place charges, little much for no reason. I brought car for inspection which is $21, I been to places at the entire NY state inspections coast $15.About the inspection they said my tags lights were gone, hmm I was pulled by a cop the week before who give us ticket for not working front light, so i though if he could miss that, I mean it was a mean cop checking everything...also I thought if is possible for bight light to be gone, but they still manage to charge me for half hour labor which hey at $85/hr... what I can say. But no mater what they didn't told me any pricing up front. I am small business owner and when I have new customers first thing I do is to let them know the pricing. The only thing they did free of charge is to sign the ticket and certify that the lights we fixed... I wouldn't recommend this place

The best mechanic shop. They are the only shop that repairs both vehicles, they are also very friendly and the best part is that you never have to go back to them to refix the same problem over and over again like other shops. They are extremely professional and will treat any car even if it's a rust bucket, like it was a Ferrari.

I brought my 2005 Sante Fe to Jay's because it was running sluggish and had no pick up from a dead stop...Mike called and said it was all set after an hour.. he found it was a sensor..I have tried other mechanics in the Rotterdam area and I have to say I will not take my cars anywhere else now..They are very friendly and definitely know their stuff... I have been very happy with the cost too.. very reasonable.. I highly recommend this place if you need car work done...

Great shop. I wish car repairs were cheaper, but at least here I know Jay won't make repairs I don't actually need or try to mislead me like disreputable shops would. I also know the job will be done right.
