Left my car (used, bought 6 months ago) for maintenance after seeing all the positive reviews during my commute from Ronkonkoma to the city. I suspected the brakes would have to be replaced and the oil changed, which was confirmed by the shop. It was done on time and I was charged a very honest price. The car now drives much better.I ll definitely come back.

Over the years , through several vehicles, I have found myself at few different auto body shops. Most of my experiences have been good some even great and gave many recommendations via word of mouth.Carms automotive hands down is the best shop I have ever used in my 26 years of driving. Jimmy is honest and reliable. He has performed more services than what I have selected in the review form. I have never once had an issue with any of the work done. My car always comes back running even more efficiently then when it was dropped off. Several times I was in need of emergency repairs and Jimmy has always been able to see me in a timely fashion and get me back up and running in no time. There are very few businesses today in any industry that run and operate to the standards that Jimmy upholds in his shop. I needed a new ignition coil and spark plugs. I chose Carms because they were rated highly and rightfully so. They got my car in and fixed in a few hours. They advised me well on what my car needed, the job was reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly and reassuring . No car issues since. I recommend!Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

A hidden gem and the ONLY place I trust with my car. Jim has kept my car running just like the day I bought it for the last 5 years. His pricing is very reasonable, his work is fantastic, and he is just an all around great guy. I have never written a google review, but the service I just received from Jim (the owner) left me no choice. I have gotten many oil changes there and he is always friendly and efficient. The office is always clean and I've always been happy with the service. Today when I went in, I had my new registration in the car. I have bad carpal tunnel in both hands and it takes me awhile to change it out, so I left it in the car so when I have the hour or more it would take me to change it (because my hands hurt doing those type of things) I remember to do it. I didn't mention it to Jim, but when he was done with my car and I went to leave, I saw that he had taken it upon himself to change it for me. He didn't tell me he did it, so I know he wasn't looking for a thank you, but that little act of kindness saved me about an hour or more of pain. He didn't know that, but it meant a lot to me that he did that small thing for me. I was always going to return to him when I need something on my car, but now I will be an active recruiter for him. It's hard enough to get good customer service, but to find a genuinely kind business is unfortunately very rare. I highly recommend this shop, you will not be disappointed.Service: Oil change

I've always found it difficult to find a decent mechanic. But Jim made it easy to keep going back to him. In fact, I've been going to him for more than 10 years now. He's fast, respectful and affordable. Highly recommend.

Moving to LI from NJ 5 years ago, I immediately began the hunt for a mechanic. I did a few Groupons here and there, one of which was Jim's. I haven't used another one since! Jim is great - genuine, knowledgeable, and dedicated to his business. And one of the best things is that he open early! So, to have an oil change appt at 715AM and be in at work by 8AM is super convenient. Thank you Jim :)Service: Auto maintenance

I did not know Jim the owner of Carms Automotive. I live two hours away, upstate NY. I was on my way to take my daughter to MacArthur airport. Blew transmission in the car 10 minutes away from Carms. Unfortunately I had to get rid of the car. Between Jim and a couple of other nice people my daughter got to the airport and I got home that day. I thank you so much. The upcoming week Jim helped me all week with the car situation and never asked me for a dime. I could have never done it without him. Thank you Jim & Jamie for your kindness. Great mechanic and a very, very nice man. You guys have a hell of a mechanic there in Long Island. Please use him I give him a five star.

I brought my car to Carms to get an oil change, tire rotation and inspection. I know they're under new ownership and I've been looking for a place that's CONVIENENT, reliable and a feeling that I can trust... The woman in the office was really friendly and her husband runs the shop. He was really knowledgable and nice as well. They got me In and out as fast as possible. Great service. Def recommend thanks guys

I was quoted $1400 for a general repair by the dealership, then I called Carms... $700 was the estimate he gave me, but come to find out it was only $350 when completed because he told me I didn t need additional parts/labor, so it was less than what I was expecting. Very honest mechanic, quality work, quick service, fair pricing too. I have used Carms before, and will again!

Saturday 1/20/18, needed an inspection and oil change for my 2012 Honda Accord , no appointment.Opened door and was greeted with pleasant attitude and a no problem response.Clean and efficient shop, TV and coffee for wait.Was in and out within 30 minutes, very reasonable price for a full synthetic oil job.Highly recommend, Honda certified.

Jim (the owner) is an extremely fair and honest man. He makes a living, but not at the cost of his integrity. He will work with anyone, but try to remember that he has to eat too.

I just moved to the area and needed to find a reliable place to get an oil change. Naturally I went to Google and typed in "best place to get an oil change near me" and Carms came up. I selected them because I saw they had a Groupon so called to make an appointment. I wasn't sure which oil I needed so I didn't know which Groupon to buy and they told me "don't buy the Groupon. Come on in and the mechanic will tell you which you need and we will honor the Groupon price." I got to my appointment and was only there about 30 minutes. When my car was done, they did not try to take advantage of my car ignorance and tell me something was wrong or try to sell me extra. Didn't think it was possible to say, but that was the best oil change experience I've ever had. I'll definitely be back!

A friend recommended Carm's Automotive to me and I'm glad he did. I dropped off my car for an oil change and state inspection. Job was completed while I waited. Great service at a reasonable price. Highly recommend Carm's Automotive.

My husband was an auto and diesel truck/heavy equipment mechanic for the last 30 years. He only trusted Jim to perform the warranty work on our Hondas when Jim was at Huntington Honda. After Jim left and opened his own shop (sorry HH, your loss), my husband sent me and our kids to him for repairs and maintenance to our respective vehicles because, well, the Shoemaker s kids always go barefoot. My husband, an ASE Heavy Equipment Master Mechanic in his own right, trusted Jim with our vehicles so, if you re in need of a new mechanic, Jim is highly recommended. He s honest and extremely knowledgeable. The service provided is next level and his fees are more than fair. Jim is definitely one of the few, true professionals in the field.

What a great place!! I was recommended to jimmy at carms through a friend. I couldn't miss the place with all the banners and signage. Jim had my truck repaired in a reasonable amt of time at an affordable rate. Very knowledgable, and clean cut operation!!

Broke down while visiting family in NY. Luckily my sister recommended Carm's and they did not disappoint. Had me up and running in no time. Never felt taken advantage of!!! Pricing and customer service were exceptional!!!!

Great mechanic, was able to figure out AC issue that I ve had for years with my Honda, that required more than just your basic AC repair (electrical issue) very accommodating and affordable. Will definitely be coming here for my car needs

I would highly recommend Carms Automotive ,Jimmy very professional and very honest ,as well respects your vehicle as it was his own ,not only works on my personal vehicles I also have him work on my company vehicles !
