THIS PLACE SCAMS PEOPLE: I came here to get a simple inspection for my vehicle. My car has tint so I new it needed to be tested, The lady at the front dest told me that I had to speak to the inspector (pretty sure he s the owner) . The inspector touched my glass and before even performing the test he mumbled to me it would cost 100 dollars extra to pass because I have tints. MY TINTS ARE FROM THE DEALER, I went down the street to Another shop and they tested my car and had me out with new stickers in 15 minutes for 37 DOLLARS.Grand auto you should be ashamed taking from you re community.

Car emergencies are not so bad when you have really good people to help .My car was in a bad accident and needed to be repaired .Everyone here is professional and treat you like a person unlike many of the name brand shops. Edgar the shop owner was thorough and informative. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of .He broke down everything for me .I had a million questions and he answered each of them with knowledge and patience. My vehicle is now in top shape .Even thou I dont live in the area I will used Grand Auto for all my car maintenance.

Lets all give credit to Grand Auto Repair on Seneca ave in Ridgewood...They are honest, friendly and very thorough with their services...And best yet was there prices...Very affordable and satisfying to the pocket I recommend them to everyone and i am just a customer and not related..10/1/23::I visited Grand Auto Repair and had Auto body work done on my car..I gave them a shot because Edgar who is the owner impressed me before with my Auto repairs.He gave me the best quote on the auto body job that my car desperately needed.He promised me that I could trust the outcome of the job"EDGAR And GRAND AUTODELIVERED just as he promised...He was honest about everything...My car is a 2015 and they made it Brand new..Like right from the dealership..My whole family and friends are going there from now on..EDGAR is a good man.Honesty , Credibility and Trustworthy.I consider him as a good friend....

I recommend this repair shop to anyone who is looking for a job to be done well. Edgar and his team are phenomenal at what they do. Go by early because it gets very busy very quickly. My car looks like nothing ever happened to it. It's the only place I'll go to for auto body work.

Had a great experience with Grand Auto Repair. I was on my way out of town when all the dashboard lights started popping on. Then my powered steering stopped working. So, I turned around and brought my car in. They had it up on the lift within minutes and had me out the door within two hours. Everyone I met was super friendly. These guys are very good, no waiting. I pulled right in and got my NYS inspection done. They even removed my old NYS registration sticker and put the new. It all took about 20 minutes in and out, I'll definitely go again.

Do yourself a favour and don t go there , don t matter how much money u have. I was charge $145 for a check then went to AutoZone they did the same for free.. yes I m serious !! - zero stars my friends.

Cannot speak as to body work. I was there for an insurance inspection. Friendly. Had to wait a bit, but not excessive. Go on a weekday and earlier rather than later. They are super busy. Saturdays are madness if you don t have an appointment, and probably even if you do... Parking nearby is problematic. But if you are familiar with Ridgewood/Maspeth, you already know that.

Not happy with experience. Needs better management. Over price, lack of being able to identify issues in vehicle. Want to charge extra things that are unnecessary. Wouldnt recommend and wouldnt go back again. O really bad communication from all staff members.

Straight crooks. I have a 2003 honda accord. Went for a front wheel alignment and they said that all four need to be aligned, even though i didnt want the back done.the cost is $100. I said ok. After job I went to pay with credit card and they charged me 12% for using card., that's crazy. Anyways: Then I take it to a friend to look at it. Friend said that they didn't even touch the back of car for alignment. They don't even have it posted that there's a 12% fee for using any kind of card

I just moved from Texas to New York . I need just vehicles inspection .I went there but they don t take care customer. This guys was asking me some I said could you vehicle inspection for my car ? But they said you have to Waite I said ok I was waiting them like one hrs but they don t care about me . One guys was coming look like he was angry and he said you have to Waite bro . What is th�s behavior? I don t like .

SCAMMERS!!! I moved to NYC from LA & brought my luxury SUV in to Gert the vehicle inspection to get the RegistrationThey said "There is a problem you have tinted windows that is not allowed in New York" I said it was only 10% and that was fine in California - He said not in New YorkHe said you have 2 options - we can remove the tints and give you the inspection certificate or you can "give us $200" and we will "ignore" the tint and give you the inspection certificate .I wasn't going to pay them $200 son they removed my tint - I have since found out that the tints I had were in fact legal here so they basically scammed me .DO NOT USE THIS SHOP THEY ARE DODGY !!Service: Vehicle Inspection

I've been bringing my cars here for years. They do great body work and excellent mechanical work. I have never had a bad or even unpleasant experience here. I also have never felt robbed like I have at other places. Highly recommended.

I orginally came here to get my insurance photos taken on my new used car. Since I was going to get my car photos taken for insurance, I decided for Edgar the owner, to have him check the car if all the bells and whistles were good. The shop sees you as a transaction, they want you in and out and don't care about anything else but your money. It took 3 hours because the owner started conversations with other people, then complained about other customers, but when it came to my picutres and the inspection it took him 3 hours+. He found issues with my car, then I asked him to put it on a sales reciept, he forgot and preceded to start a conversation with an old time friend. I will NEVER come back here, very rude, unappreciative, and I just don't feel certain that the job was done right. I will take my bussiness and money else where and I SUGGEST YOU DO THE SAME!!!Service: Brakes

They re all extremely professional and very friendly. They re informative and I ll definitely return. Some clients arrive with not so nice attitudes and I ve seen this first hand, still in all they kept their composure, remained patient and courteous.

The work is expensive it is well worth it. And regardless of the work being a little pricey the place is not going to rip you off.Update: I am formally changing my review of this place from 4 stars to one star, zero if I had the choice which Google should give us but whatever.So I brought my mothers car in on Friday to have it looked at. The first thing he tells me is that I need to find him a legit spot on the right side of the road to not deal with alternate parking. Ok I can understand that but anyone who has parked in this area knows that it can be a fiasco. I decided I was not going to wait because I had other things to do and he said that two of his mechanics are not in yet.I come back early afternoon and I lucked out finding a spot right across the street from the place. So I told him the situation. Last time I was there he told me that the machine pulled codes that the ABS control unit needed to be replace which the part alone is $1500 plus labor which I already know about. The other issue is that now when I or my mother are driving and have more than one thing on we can hear a whining and the lights are dimming. I would think this is a sign of a dying alternator.He took the keys and said he will have his guys take a look. I called back at the end of the day and there was no progress. Me and my mother went back the next day in the morning because she wanted to be reassured. He gave the same excuse as the day before and he was saying that he is the best and all this other stuff. If he really was the best he would be in there doing the work himself and every customer would walk away satisfied.We never received a call by 3pm which was when he closed on Saturday. One of things that was setting alarms off in my head was another review on here about him ripping people off by charging storage fees so I wanted to find out if the car was in the shop at all which it was not. It was chilling in front of the shop so I took a picture just in case he tried to rip me and my mother off. So finally today on MLK day I went over there at 9am to get my mothers car back because there was still no reply. I had talked to Reuben who was one of the mechanics that were out.He basically stated the same problems which we already knew which was the ABS control unit. I asked about the other issue with the dimming lights and stuff and he said to give him another two hours. I am sorry there is no excuse you had my mother's car the entire weekend. One thing I did not mention was meanwhile there were other cars coming in and out of there like a revolving door so your telling me in all this time you could do the check up on the one issue?I decided to just take the keys back and go to another place. A review on that place will follow. I urge extreme caution if you bring your vehicle here. Better yet please save yourself the stress and bring it somewhere else.

Brought in my 2000 chevy exp van for ac blowing warm air and noisy compressor. After mechanic diagnosed the system he determined that the evaporator was leaking and the compressor clutches were bad. He replaced both units as well as a new dryer. Now the ac is blowing cold air again.The price was fair compared to other shops in the area. Also comes with a 12 month warranty. Staff was friendly and professional. Would recommend.Service: Air conditioning

Been coming here for close to a decade. Always been taken care of from dent repairs and light suspension work to electrical gremlins I couldn t figure out.

Extremely Unprofessional! You the costumer are an inconvenience to them at all times. They will pass you off to whoever they can to not have to deal with you. Ive been there 4 times and they never fail to be rude and act like you should come in already knowing what to do and who to talk to, and don t you dare to ask how long is the wait going to be because you will be barked at.Take your money somewhere else. Not worth any of it!

I just want to thank the entire staff of Grand for making an unpleasant experience as pleasant as possible. My jeep was hit by a hit and run and messed up pretty badly. these guys all helped me out. literally the entire staff. from the their tow truck driver to the owner himself. They took care of everything from dealing with my insurance company to getting me a bottle of water while i waited for my car to be lifted on to their tow truck. My jeep came out perfect btw. thanks guys. hope to never see u again lol but if i need my cars or truck to be fixed im coming straight to you.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I would steer clear of that place. I've been getting my motorcycle "inspected" there for the past 3 years. When I say inspected, I mean the odometer was checked and a sticker was slapped on. Don't get me wrong, I was fine with that as I'd rather work on my own bike and conduct my own inspections, I just need the sticker to avoid tickets.Anyway, I went today to get it "inspected" and after the "thorough" inspection, the owner decides to charge me almost twice as much as is mandated by the city and what I always paid previously, but after a brief confrontation pays me back the difference as the receipt clearly states the fee which I always paid and wishes me to "never" crash my bike followed by saying to never come back again (I don't think that was needed as I was clearly never coming back again).To sum it up, I will never visit that place again and I would advise others to beware as well. The place conducts fraudulent inspections, the owner is dishonest, disrespectful and lacks any form of integrity. I wouldn't trust them with the simplest task.

Owner has a bad attitude. I understand you want your money. But with that attitude you will not bring in customers. Get it together. I decided to go else where due to his attitude. Besides looking at these reviews I m sure i made the right decision. ALSO WEAR A DAMN MASK YOU AND YOUR STAFF!

Second time coming here for auto repair. Everyone is super nice and accommodating. I was able to even get help with my rental for the time my car was in the shop. Communication was super straightforward and all of my questions were answered in a timely manner.
