warning !I drove car to 4 In tune that was stalling barely running-- with check engine light on. Pete the owner asks me all sorts of questions about the car and we both though it may be the fuel pump. He said the diagnostic test was inconclusive and more tests would follow. Days latter he suspected the fuel pump and quoted me 400$ for the pump plus many hours of labor. I had a problem with the fuel pump price so I checked on line and the SAME brand was for 107$ -talk about a mark up!So when he found out that I was buying it myself he changed his mind and said he pressure tested and the fuel pump and it is good -well why didnt he do that from the start !He tells me to pick up the car because he did a few things to get the car started and the bill was 400$ and had the nerve to say he could have charged me more!I paid him 250$ and after I yelled at him he gave me my keys. So I drove it home - it ran not so good. The next day I drove it to the store barely got it home check engine light back on and the car is not running!I dont know why he gets good reviews because if he did this to me he must be doing it to other people.Service: Electrical repair

Warning! I went to 4inTune mechanic on Cottekill Road for the first time this morning for an oil change on my 2009 Honda Accord.To my complete surprise and chagrin I was charged $122.23 including tax. Breakdown as follows:Synthetic oil $52.58Oil filter $12.10Oil drain plug washer $1.50Labor $45.00Hazardous materials $2.00I spoke to Pete, the owner, when I saw the charge and he said the price of oil had gone way up. I reluctantly paid for it but checked with the mechanic I have normally used in New Paltz and the price was less than half that -- $55.00 including labor and oil without tax.I wanted someone closer to me but definitely paid the price. I called him after discovering that and he said we re not the cheapest but we re the best and offered to discount labor when I went back for an air and cabin filter. As if I would consider doing that.I went there based on several reviews on Nextdoor so buyer beware! My bad for not asking up front, but I realized that it might cost more due to current economic conditions but never expected to pay this much for an oil change. His bad for not telling me up front what it would cost.Service: Oil change

The guys there take the time to talk to you and get to know you and your car. A rare thing these days. Very knowledgeable service techs. Great with classic sports cars like my 74 MGB GT.
