This post is long over due! Joe and his team are the best. I was having transmission problems and my mechanic had suggested replacement. I found New York Auto Repair while trying to get several quotes on a new transmission before committing. Joe was the only mechanic who asked me to bring it in and see if that was really necessary. Joe took the time to troubleshoot and found the issue was minor and fixed it quickly and saved me from wasting money and time on work not even needed. A year later my engine was making crazy noises and I thought it was blown. Went to a mechanic who was closer to me and he said the engine was gone and I should just sell. I called Joe right away and again he diligently took the time to find a rocker arm had just come loose and again it was fixed fast. Whenever I have a question or concerns about my vehicles I know I can always call. I always feel like a valued customer I think that s rare these days!! I recommend New York Auto Repair 100%

I can't say enough great things about New York Auto Repair. They do great work at very reasonable prices and I've never seen the level of service you get here, anywhere else.As one example, the brake pedal sensor on my Nissan Sentra went bad and the engine refused to start. I called NY Auto and Scott came out to my car (admittedly, I don't live far, but wow!) and got it started so I could drive it to the shop where he had gotten a replacement part the same day. He then installed it for me, even though it was fairly late on the Friday before Labor Day weekend (saving my weekend!).Scott is skillful, knowledgeable, responsible, and amazingly helpful. I've also had great experiences with Joe. I don't know the rest of the team there, yet, but I'll bet they're great, too.You really can't go wrong here.Services: Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning, Tire rotations, Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

Joe and his team at New York Auto Repair are amazing at what they do. A few months back I took my Xterra to a different local shop to have adjustable upper control arms installed. They give me the run around for 4 days straight before getting it back and it not driving 100% the same since then. I figured this was because of the new part. After a recent tire install I stopped by NY auto repair for an alignment where they noticed the upper control arm ball joints were installed incorrectly by the previous shop. Joe got it fixed and did a great alignment and now it drives straight as the day I got it. They have great communication, professional staff and work in a timely manner. I hope to not need them but if I do need work done I'll definitely go to NY auto repair.Service: Wheel alignment

To make a long story short, the starter on my car was going out and I needed it replaced. This was the first choice for mechanics on Google and sure enough, they did not disappoint. Got the starter replaced and within a reasonable time frame. Thanks, again, Joe and friends! I will return for all my auto needs.

My son plays Baseball for the Hudson Valley Renegades and his car broke down at the Stadium parking lot. He doesn't know anyone around the area. Took his car to Joe. It's a bit complicated because his car is fully loaded and modified with Turbo. Joe was so kind with a huge heart to tell my son that he's NOT charging him anything. My son texted me and told me he cried and telling me how much he cares about him. Joe did the oils service and didn't charge him any labor fees too. In this new world we are living today you'll be lucky if you find a person like Joe! I thank you Joe for fixing my son car, even though it's a bit complicated you got it right and you are so detailed that make sure everything are working. I'm grateful that he found a friend like you. Joe and his team saved my life for Thanksgiving! I had packed up my car to drive home for Thanksgiving, turned on my car, and it started making a terrible sound. I called NY Auto Repair and they immediately came to my house since my car wouldn't start (so I wouldn't have to get a tow truck to bring it down the street), identified the problem (a dead battery), drove my car back to the shop for me, and replaced my battery at a very affordable price within an hour!! What could have been a nightmare of a day or even prevented me from traveling home for Thanksgiving turned into a minor bump in the road, given Joe and his team's help. Brought my Car here for repairs a few weeks ago. The Mechanic took the time to explain exactly what was going on with my car in a way I could actually understand. He didn't make up imaginary problems to fix and was extremely fair in his price. I actually called around to check and They were the cheapest. Also the other staff we very friendly and helpful. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM!!

My car broke down in the middle of a busy intersection. I reached out to these guys. They pointed me to a reasonable priced towing service. Then was able to diagnose the problem, give price estimate, get the parts and complete the repair by Close of Business! Smart common sense mechanics. A trust worthy crew. Thanks from a weary traveler with an old car.

Horrible experience held my car for 10 months and tried to justify the money I paid them they didn't earn or for a incomplete job and they are butcher's customer beware. Don't bring your car to this (not gonna call it business establishment) let's call it a circus better yet the slaughter house cause they straight butchers.they will be hearing from me again thru DMV with a filed complaint. Worst Experience i ever had with a car repair location. I was told about this location by a car dealership that i bought my car from in the last month after having a check engine light appear on my dash. i called them came in then they told me why the check engine light came out but every appointment i made was pushed back due to their inability to deal with there own customer demands. i dont recommend anyone to take there car there
