The insurance company for the person that hit our parked car said they would cover a rental through Enterprise. They were quick to respond and called me shortly after the online request got processed by the insurance. Unfortunately it was a bad weekend for lots of people falling victim to winter conditions so they didn't have anything available but could put me on a list in case of a cancellation. When I told them I needed something more quickly, they transferred the insurance company's request to the Watertown branch and were able to get us set up with a nice vehicle. We were able to return it to Potsdam when we were done. The Potsdam branch was professional and easy to work with and took the stress out of a really unpleasant situation. I also got the deposit back faster than I expected.

Often has nothing available. Don't need them in a pinch. They aren't given sufficient inventory. You need to plan emergency rentals a week in advance, FYI. Last time I did get a car, I wanted a full size car, only option was a tiny "SUV". Picked up my uncle from the air port and our shoulders and elbows rubbed more than I wanted. This place needs more corporate support. Unreliable!

I was a bit frustrated with my recent experience with the Potsdam branch, but do appreciate how things turned out at the end. I hit a deer on thanksgiving day, and after my insurance company submitted for a rental for me I received a call within minutes following up (which was much appreciated). I was told I d be all set on Monday and they d call me. After not hearing anything for a few hours Monday, I called, no car available for me, would call me back later that day. I later showed up unannounced and was quick to be put in a car and sent on my way (much appreciated). However, my personal vehicle is a 2022 AWD SUV, and the rental I was given was a a small Mitsubishi Mirage. I was told I d be left on a list to swap the car out for something a little bigger and sent on my way. I followed up on Wednesday when my insurance extended my rental until Friday of the following week and was told I was still on a list. Thankfully after 2 1/2 weeks in the repair shop, my car was ready to go. When I showed up to drop the rental off and told the staff I d have to call for a cab or something similar they offered to drop me off at the repair shop because one of the staff were headed that way. That made a world of a difference for me, and appreciate that the staff I deal with was also friendly. I understand that vehicles are limited, and although it was a frustrating experience, I do appreciate the friendliness of the staff I spoke with and them going the extra mile at the end. Overall experience puts them at a 3/5.

These guys were phenomenal, we had a rental through our insurance company for repairs being done to our personal vehicle. Enterprise was very accommodating for mine and my wife's needs. I myself stand almost 6'7" and needed a larger vehicle, they were able to get me an American made car that I was able to drive and ride in comfortably. When we were done we were able to drop it off at our leisure when it was convenient for us, after work and after their closing time. Thank you very much gentlemen.

Wonderful experience at the local Enterprise location in Potsdam, NY. Prices were a little high for a rental (we rented a minivan for a little over one week), but with the economy it was acceptable. Vehicle was in perfect condition and made the trip as nice as possible. We were running behind on returning the rental and they were understanding and allowed us more time to return without an additional fee. Bonus also being I received double reward points as a promotion so now I have enough points for a free rental. If you are planning on booking a trip use the app, and make sure to complete any reward extras. They were as easy as looking at vehicles for sale for extra points.

Ted was absolutely amazing!!! Fast, efficient and so pleasant which was very much needed after the night/day I had regarding needing a rental to replace my car temporarily after having an accident with a guard rail because of the weather conditions. Thank you so much for helping me get home!!!

Quick, friendly service. Easy pick up and after hours drop off. The car worked great. Only issue is after the car warmed up it smelled heavily of marijuana, which was scary because I took it over the boarder. Kind of my fault I didn't catch that sooner, but maybe check for that before taking the car.

The first vehicle we recieved was very nice, it was through our insurance, so the process was pretty painless. However, we woke up to the car having a flat tire. When I contacted Enterprise they told me to call the garage, have it towed, and wait for it to be repaired. They then forwarded me to Enterprise Roadside Assistance. The person I talked to there told me to just request tire service, and then drive the car back to Enterprise to be exchanged, that he would schedule the exchange in advance. When we got to Enterprise, however, they had no knowledge of an exchange and acted as if we were inconveniencing them. After telling us that " they would have to move some customers around" they gave us a basic car to replace the first one. Their attitudes were terrible, made us feel like we had done something wrong, etc.All in all, the first vehicle we got was very nice, the second was not and smelled like old cigarettes. Despite it being no fault of ours, their attitudes towards us when our car had a problem was unhelpful, patronizing, and just unwelcoming. We went with Enterprise because that is who our insurance company chose. I would now never choose them myself.

Great service. Yes they charge a $300 security deposit but I had no problems there after and it cost me $154 for a two day rental with bumper to bumper coverage and road side assistance. I felt that was a great deal. Not sure what the other reviewers were complaining about. All the prices and exact per day was discussed prior to me even leaving the shop so I already knew before leaving and signing the papers what it was going to cost, not like their hiding things from people. I plan on renting again soon. Thank Enterprise :)

Customer service was friendly and inviting. I did not appreciate the footprints on the windshield and I did mention it to the company which they replied with, is there anything we can do? i wasn't really sure what they could do other than maybe make sure the vehicles are cleaned properly during a pandemic?I dropped the vehicle off around 8am. It turns out that a close friend of mine was given the same vehicle, the footprints were still there!! Even found a piece of my hair in the vehicle. What a shame. I used to love Enterprise for the cleanliness of the vehicles! Terrible time to start slacking during this pandemic.

I had the worst experience ever with this particular branch office and would definitely be giving them a minus 5 review if i could! My car was rear ended by an inexperienced teenage boy with a permit, and had to get my car fixed so I decided to go to Potsdam, NY to have it repaired and the Enterprise car rental office was close by. We were picked up by an Enterprise employee and the driver dropped up us off in front of the office where the car was parked in the shade and a young woman did my walk around inspection with me. I did point out a flaw on the paint and she just shrugged it off and said there were little scratches here and there and it was normal wear and tear. When we returned the vehicle after my car was repaired we dropped the car off in the same location as where we received it. The original person that had inspected the car wasn't there and a young guy came out to check it over. He parked the car in the sun and went over it with a fine tooth comb. He said we had done damage to car! The damage consisted of two very tiny dents that were BARELY visible to the eye! I refused to sign anything which stated I was responsible for the damage and left. Since then I have received an overnight envelope and another letter wanting me to sign an incident report and two phone calls from one of their employees. I am not sure what part they don't understand....THERE WAS NO INCIDENT! One of us was always in the car when we took it anyplace we needed to go! In the phone call I received today they are stating that i am responsible for the damage and the total was over three hundred dollars! If you ever need to rent a car form Enterprise I suggest you have your video camera ready and take some very good pictures of the entire vehicle! Insurance scam? Maybe??? I'll leave that up to you...

Rented a vehicle after an accident. The lady was very friendly. I recommend if you rent from here or anywhere else check the car they give you for dents,chips in paint etc. Take pictures and bring it to their attention. They check vehicles over when you return them and you don't want to get stuck paying for damages you didn't do. We didn't have an issues but several we know have had this happen to them. So document any damage and make sure it is noted on your leasing paperwork!

I booked a one way reservation online and when I got there was tokd I had to bring the vehicle back. The manager was unabke to help or find a one way rental for me and other guests present. This resulted in an expensive shipping of boxes for me 3800$ vs 800 rental.

Had to drop off the vehicle at the Enterprise at Potsdam, tried to use Uber Lyft and all local taxi companies, no avail, needed to catch flight at Ogdensburg. However the manager Ted offered to voluntarily drive me to the airport! Even though it was 45 minutes away! Naturally I insisted that my company compensate him for his time. Thanks again Ted! Great service!

They had what I wanted for a rental and understood my situation. Riley was exceptional with service;and Ted did a super job as well. Pricing was explained clearly an was fair.

Rent vehicles regularly from here and despite being loyal customers have had some negative experience. Often they try giving us a vehicle we didn't reserve. One time our pickup time got messed up (we picked it up at the same time everytime) and no one called to verify and when we showed up at our normal time to get the vehicle they had given it to someone else, they made no effort to fix the situation and could care less that we didn't have a vehicle.

We had are car get wrecked a few years go . We were heading downstate and needed room for some household items . Insurance would only cover a small car and that did not have the room we needed equal to are car that was in the body shop . However It worked out great that they had a van and gave it to us for the same price once we asked how we could upgrade.

I reserved a car with the main company,got a call 5 minuets later from the branch in Potsdam NY and they said they didn t have any until Wednesday the 21st. So when I went in to pick up the car (not a van) that I had reserved they told me,they didn t have any cars just a van and the van just came back when I got there and it had bald tires.I highly recommended not renting cars from the enterprise in Potsdam NY they are nothing but conartests and liars, they also had an suv but they wouldn t let me rent it. they just kept trying to push the van on me and I m a single man with no children that live with me,why would I want a van.

Just attempted to pick up the rental minivan I reserved on December 28th for a January 2nd pick up. My family I had planned for a trip to Lake Placid so we rented the minivan so we could all travel in 1 vehicle. The pick up was for 9:00am and was to be the start of our trip. I went inside, gave the gentleman my ID which he promply scanned and then walked me out to the parking lot. When we got to the parking lot he informed me that the last renters left the van in a state of duress. The van has a mechanicl failure and cannot be rented. I asked "so what am I suppose to do?". He asked if there was anything else on the lot I would want. "Do you have anything that can hold 7 people" he replies "well, no, not right now". I asked why no one called me to tell me this since I got in town on the 30th and drove by the location on the 31st. I saw the van in the parking lot. He states "I don't know when the van got here. I just came in today." They must have known then that the van could not be rented because of a "mechanical failure" from the previous renters. Now my family and I are stuck trying to figure out alternate travels plans to complete our trip. This is a huge inconvenience. My suggestion is to not trust this location and if you have to rent from them make sure you call ahead to confirm your vehicle can actually be driven.

I was very unsatisfied. Enterprise kept charging my credit card after i returned the car and finalized everything with them. They charged me about $ 123 saying that i didn't pay they tolls. If i didn't pay the tolls how i was able to go through? It was my first and last time with Enterprise.

Service is usually quick since I'm a plus membe and it not too far out of town. Make sure you ask questions and cheak to make sure what u asked for for packages is provided (like unlimited mileage). There seems to be a shortage of available vehicles on weekends expessially when it comes to there weekend deal when it's available. They call you usually after you return the car to close the contract.

The staff at Potsdam Route 56 Enterprise are always friendly and helpful and do their best to accommodate customers with the size and type of vehicle they need. When the car I have requested has not been available in the past, I have received a free upgrade. I use them regularly for business-related travel.

A deer ran out and hit the side of my van so I needed a rental. They were very nice at first moving me from a car to a van for the same daily rate however while in Florida the following week found out we had insurance on it that we didn t need. Our insurance company had insurance on the rental and enterprise still added insurance. Yes I signed it not knowing it was already covered, but they knew. My bad. They told us we could remove the insurance off the vehical but we would need to come in and sign a paper to take it off. ( from Florida.?) Then when we returned it they claimed we made 2 small dents to the vehical. The vehical sat at my house for 4 days while we went to Florida. There was no accident and no damages. Not to mention no one even looked at the vehical before I took it. We ended up paying $200 of pocket for a vehical and we have 8 children including our own and 4 foster children. They are not a company I would recommend. Read more reviews and you will see this is not the first time they blamed others for small dents.

Hrs are not convenient for those of us who work. Day after pick-up car indicates low tire pressure and car needs maintenance. Emailed the enterprise company and was told to ignore routine maintenance and that the low tire pressure is because it is cold! No windshield scrapper in car where snow and ice is the normal . Asked for a automatic start car. Was told they did not have any available. Can give my mileage via email which is nice. Am only using this company because the company i work for uses them. Would not be my choice..

The staff was super nice and friendly at this location but their prices are exorbitant. I am a Hert member and I pay $9 per day for insurance. Enterprise charged be $30/day for a 4 day rental. I guess this is because they are the only car rental in the city. NOT COOL.
