My wife brings her car here and says that they are reliable, however, I did an oil change on my son's Jeep which she brought there. Bill's did the last oil change and whoever changed the oil at Bill's applied a severely excessive amount of torque to the crankcase plug-far in excess of the factory spec of 25 lbs--had to go buy a longer 13mm wrench to get the plug out. Hence the mediocre rating.

Bill and Sean and the guys in the garage are doing a great job. Every time I come in they are always smiling, whether it is a oil change, flat tire or repair job they are helpful, friendly and check the car thoroughly for potential issues. They get the job done carefully, quickly and are transparent. The pricing is clear and calculated. Overall I feel confident leaving my car there knowing it s in good hands.

Went to a dealership for just an oil change and then they said my rear driver caliper, rotors, and brake pads needed to be replaced and that the cost was going to be 1400.00. I thought the price was sketchy so I brought the car to Bills Auto Repair for a second opinion. Shaun and his team looked at the quote and saw that the estimate on paper looked high. Based on what they saw on paper, they estimated the cost was going to be under 800.00 for the same work.After they inspected the car themselves, they determined that the caliper was still in working condition and that the brake pads still had thousands of miles left on it. They patiently explained to me that if one of the calipers was not working then the wear on the brake pads would be uneven. The rear brake pads were evenly worn.I highly recommend Shaun and his team for their professionalism and will be bringing all my automotive needs to Bills Auto Repair from now on.

Today was my first visit to Bill's. I had a tail/brake light out and a headlight out as well. I called ahead to another repair shop (which I will no longer be frequenting) and they refused to give me an estimate of price and played with insanely high quotes based on labor. I called Bill's and he immediately gave me a typical estimate, which was very reasonable. I asked if I could stop by then and they took me in immediately. The battery had to be taken out in order to fix the headlight and they were very upfront and honest about everything! I asked if any fluids needed to be fixed or if anything else was needed [I thought even another light was out but I was wrong]. They did only what was necessary, did not overcharge, were extremely efficient, and were also very kind. This will be my new repair shop that I will be frequenting from now on! Heads up, if you are doing anything more intensive with your car, you will need to make an appointment, they are very busy! ;)

Bill s auto is a great repair shop. The service is always done quickly and correctly and the customer service is always polite and professional. Prices are fair for the area

These guys are the best period. Have been going here for a few years now and they are the best. Reliable, friendly, honest and technically proficient. I have been to many shops and car service centers over the years and I am glad I found Bills. They do what needs to be done at a fair price and nothing more.

This review is for the person's attitude behind the counter, not any work that was done. I arrived 7:02 am with a flat tire and was told that the staff did not come in until 8am. I was asked to take a seat until 8am. I can change my own flat tire. I was struggling to remove the bolts so I asked if the person could help me loosen them. I was then yelled at that the shop doesn't open until 8am and please wait. I said I was going to try to get the bolts off myself for the next 58 minutes. In doing that, the person came out and yelled that I couldn't change the tire on his property and I had to move my car. It was raining and it would have been nice to be able to pull into his garage. I found the person very rude and not very nice or helpful, so I went to BP on Port Blvd at 8am and was in and out in 3 minutes, no exaggeration. Bill's could have helped me or at least been nicer about it.

I live in Astoria, but my car overheated last week right near the Port Washington train station. It was five minutes to seven when I called. Bill answered and said they were closing soon, but he would wait for me. Being unfamiliar with the area (I live in Queens), I used Google maps to take me there which strangely put me on the other side of Main Street by the library. I called Bill to tell him I was lost and he directed me back and waited for us until we arrived. He was an absolute life saver. The next day, Sean called me with updates - very communicative. They fixed my water pump and changed the fan belt, and the final price came in $100 less than the estimate. I highly recommend this trustworthy place. They are the best!

I've been using them for over 20 years. They diagnose and repair efficiently at a reasonable price. But the best part is the peace of mind when you trust your mechanic. Bill, Paul, Sean and the rest of the guys are absolutely dependable.

I have no problem leaving my name for this review. They are honest and nice. I brought in a car that suddenly had a major problem driving. They fixed it the next day with a bill that I thought was a misprint, it was so low. They could have tacked on anything and didn't. Another time they told me that another problem was very small; another time they told me they could fix it but it was a warranty job, so I could have it done by the dealer. So as I said, they are honest, and when things need fixing, they do it really well.

We have been using Bill's Auto Repair for more than twenty years. I have never felt taken advantage of. Not once. These folks are kind and compassionate. They never fail to explain what I need, what I don't need, and what I will need for one of my cars. If I have a quick fix that needs to be done, someone always takes care of it for me.Five stars are not enough.

Had my car inspected here after having another shop tell me I needed $100+ in repairs in order to pass inspection. Apparently I didn't, because Bill's found no issues with the car and it passed inspection with no problems. Honest and straightforward mechanic shop that won't jack up prices or try to sell you a "bs" job.

Probably the best auto repair shop one can find anywhere. Have used them for all my cars and they always provide expert service, fair and transparent pricing and go the extra mile for full satisfaction. Courtesy and competence still going strong at Bills!

Work is reliable and honest. They don't invent problems to be fixed but will update you of things to be paid attention to in the future. Excellent resource for repairs and maintenance.

These are the only guys I ever want working on any of my cars...honest...reliable...knowledgeable service....you feel like you are dealing with friends and not some shady mechanics who only care about taking your money...highly recommended to not only those on Long Island but anyone else who doesn't mind driving a few miles for quality service!

They found the brake issue when the dealer could not. They fully explain the problem and the components of the system. This was my first time there and I would go back in the future.

A few may be as good or as honest, none can be better. They will try to stop you from buying service you do not need! I have never had that service before.
