Coming from the big city, it s nice and refreshing for the small quiet stay here at Microtel in Penn Yan. Olivia, Micheal, and countless other staff have helped me greatly. Always there to assist their guests, provide great breakfast, and snacks throughout the day. They have a pool and a simple gym that I hope to use next time. Located near many local restaurants and shops with friendly folk! Amazing pizza at Cal s and much more. 10/10 recommend!

Our first night at the hotel we discovered several bugs in the bathroom we killed them and chalked them up to being there from the room being empty, the room had a musty odor. The second night was worse, even more bugs were coming out when the lights were off then scattering when the lights were on. We checked around the appliances as well and found more. We researched what they were and decided to check out early. I couldn't bear to stay in the room any longer. Although the front desk clerk was polite and apologetic, I don't find this acceptable. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a refund because we booked through a third party. We ended up finding another hotel for that night down the road.

This motel was almost perfect. Only thing I didn't care for is the price. I'm sure for most its reasonable but for a worker on the road that has to pay his own room it's a little high. Luckily I had points to use so I could experience this.Checking in I was politely greeted and even offered a free upgrade. They have fresh cookies and ice water. Gift bag for Wyndham members. My room was huge, the bed was great. Everything was perfectly clean and in its place. They even provide top shelves shampoo and soap in the shower.Breakfast was good, however, for myself I would like to have some hot food like eggs and sausage or biscuits and gravy but what they had worked. Cereal, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, assorted bagels, muffins, fruit cups, yogurt.Even upon check out the desk clerk was extremely polite and wish me a good day by name.Other motels should use this one as a model. It was great. Wish I was here longer.

Great place to stay in Penn Yan in the Finger Lakes region. Been coming here for years. Ashley and Vanessa from the front desk and Nikki in housekeeping and the breakfast attendant-all extremely professional and kind. They admitted how they love serving the people and the guests and they just really made our experience a nice one and got us anything we needed. They deserve a ton of credit. I d like to thank the management for this nice hotel-we will be back. Thanks again!! Cannot say enough good things -it s worth every penny to stay here.

Good location , clean but very small room. Parking was challenging at night as the attached lot and overflow lot were both full when I arrived to the hotel after 7pm.Rooms: Very small room, neighbor room was smoking pot and the smell overwhelmed my room. The temp outside was below 50 degrees so I tried turning on the heat and a horrible smell of burning came out of the heater. Had to turn it off and shiver in my room at night. Would not stay here again.

Our family rented out a meeting room here for a Family Get-together. In addition to the meeting room, a few of us reserved hotel rooms. All went well. Everything was clean and in good order. There was a nice bonus of having access to coffee/tea/hot chocolate any time of the day, and, cookies in the afternoon/evening. The breakfast was very good. The staff that we interacted with (Nikki, Hunter, and Ashley) were helpful and friendly.

It is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at any long time if I had to complain about one thing it would be there is never anybody at the front deskNoteworthy details: I really think they could have cut my company a better deal price wise.It is a very convenient location with so many nice places to eat within walking distance The room was super clean and very quiet.Staff was also very friendly and helpful when I could find them lol

Way over priced for what you get. They charge over $200 per night during August for a super tiny room. When the AC is turned off, the room smells musty. Continental breakfast is essentially a self-serve waffle iron, shrink-wrapped muffins, bagels, granola bars, boxed children's cereal, yogurt. The people in the room upstairs were jumping up and down on the floor (kids?), which I admit, is not the hotel's fault. Parking in the parking lot can be difficult at times. Hotel is located directly across the street from a fire department. On the first night of our stay, a party was going on in the parking lot that kept my wife from going to sleep. If they had charged $100 per night, then perhaps I'd consider giving the experience 4 stars, but at $200 per night, this is a rip-off. As we were leaving, a gentleman was complaining at the front desk of the very same thing. He said he couldn't believe what they charged for the micro-sized room. You'd be better off looking for a VRBO or AirBnB rental. Next time, we will be avoiding Microtel. Oh, and the elevator has to win the prize for the slowest moving elevator I've ever encountered.

Great location by Lake Keuka!! Friends of ours that frequent the Finger Lakes (own a home and are up here twice a month) recommended Penn Yan and Lake Keuka. This hotel was in the perfect spot for everything. We were in walking distance to restaurants, bars and 24 pharmacies. Also, it's so close to rt 54 and right off rt 14 - you couldn't ask to be more well situated. The room was clean and had just what we needed. Everyone was incredibly friendly and they set out cookies in the afternoon. Complimentary lemon water, coffee, tea and hot chocolate 24hrs which was great. We do wish the complimentary breakfast had some hot option (eggs, potatoes, etc) but it's barely a complaint. Great stay at a great place - 10/10 recommend.

This Microtel is fantastic! The lobby, hallway, and pool are all clean and inviting. Our room is stylish, clean, and well laid out. The local historic downtown is... Right outside the lobby door! Many great food options within walking distance, lots of great attractions within driving distance...Even better, the service. We were able to check-in a bit early. We bumped into the cleaning crew in the hallway and they were pleasant and helpful. The front desk attendant (Ashley) helped me sort out a reservation snafu with a very friendly energy. She got back to me more quickly than expected and checked to make sure everything worked out well. She even prepared the paperwork I needed.Above and beyond service, great location, clean and inviting interior... A tremendous value, indeed. I will 100% book here again. Thanks, Microtel team!

Friendly staff and nice rooms. Great to have an indoor pool. The gym is OK - you can get a good cardio workout and a light weight workout with the bench and dumbbells. The breakfast left a lot to be desired for anyone looking for a protein source - great if you like a neat, automated pancake machines and pastries.

From check-in to check-out this was a very pleasant stay. Staffer Kussondra was very accommodating with my room requests. The room was spacious, clean, well stocked and the layout was well thought in modern terms. The replacement of drawers for shelving worked really well for me. Breakfast was plentiful and safe. Parking is free in the middle of town, but a challenge with a full building and snow accumulation taking up some spots, but I never had to street park any of the two nights I was there. The whole building looks modern and is well maintained.

The rooms were not very clean and so tiny!! The toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Paid over $300 for one night in a very small room. I called ahead of time to see if we could check in an hour earlier to get ready for a wedding, and they said that wouldn't be an issue. Upon arriving they said they had too many people with early check-in and we would need to wait until one became available. Luckily something became available, otherwise, we would have needed to get ready in the car... The front desk was not super friendly.

Clean, fresh hotel, for the price you pay it is very good. But the most bigger issue is parking! If you come on weekends (Saturday in my case) in the evening, be ready that it can be a problem to find a spot in THEIR parking lot. It's because other people, not hotel guests, use it as a public parking. Very limited breakfast.Nearby activities: Very noisy after midnight when young people are leaving the taverns when it closes at 1am.

Overall a stellar place for the price, except for the weekend rate. It jumps up too much in my opinion. Parking is sub-par and fills up before it gets dark outside. Complimentary breakfast is well stocked and re-stocked often! The staff has been helpful and isn't afford to deliver things to your room quickly! They clean rooms every three days on extended stays (yet they some how missed our room more than once!) Plus, I didn't put towels outside my room door to signal that I needed new ones. Walking distance to so much down town as well! This is NOT lake side, so docking our boat wasn t an option.

Right in town, across from Walgreens; rooms are clean, they have a small snack stand by the desk in the lobby, where you can buy some goodies; updated decor, cookies and coffee/tea bar in the lobby; staff is professional but courteous; good place to stay overnight if you have other plans for the next day. Perfect if you want to get up and go (the next morning and do not plan to stay at the hotel.

After having a tent-tastrophy experience at a local glamping site the Microtel was a total life-saver! After calling around several nearby hotels with little success and unfriendly customer service, we were quickly helped over the phone and able to confirm room availability and pricing over the phone with a helpful staff member (can t remember her name) even though at was almost 11pm already.Marcus helped us when we arrived, he was very nice and as I was chatting with him about our nights debacles he was kind enough to give us nicer available rooms than what we d confirmed by phone and even made sure our rooms were next to one another. His customer service definitely helped turn our night around!!We were chatting with another super friendly staff member this morning (didn t catch her name unfortunately) who was also very helpful! We all walked away commenting about how this was some of the nicest hotel staff we ve had (and we travel quite a bit).A few hours after leaving, I received a call from Ashley to inform me that I left something in our room and offered to send me the information for getting it shipped back to me. I m hoping we re going to be able to pick it up on our way back home.I ve left a number of items at hotels over the years and no one ever calls me, sometimes it s the little things. I definitely felt this team went above and beyond so I wanted to say thank you!!
