I have been going to them for 20 years and they are by far the most honest and trust worthy people I know. They do impeccable work and you know that you will get ur vehicle back in tip top shape. I recommend everyone go there for any mechanical work you may need.

I made it to American Muffler at 4:50 pm today. Have passed this place time and again on my way to and from different places locally. Was just looking for what I was hoping to be a quick look for an exhaust leak that I had been repeatedly told didn't exist. This place was buzzing with late day activity and I was hesitant to wait out of respect for posted hours. However after being greeted by several courteous employees and assured my needs were no bother, I waited. Once Tony was free to greet me and hear my out, he promptly redirected us to my vehicle. Mind you it's is drizzling and now several minutes after posted closing hours. He slides on the damp ground under my truck brielfy and long enough to determine that there is clearly a minor exhaust leak. With keys in hand Tony moved my vehicle to an open Bay in their shop and proceeded to quickly remedy the exhaust leak that was basically lazy work missed by a prior exhaust shop. Couple buzzes of his mig gun and it was closed up and quieted right down. With a smile he emerged satisfied my troubles were no longer. I have never met these fine people or had the need to venture through their doors. I could've passed them by 100 more times but today I am thankful I did not. With a hand shake and some brief conversation, I thanked them and they bid me Fair well...until next time. I will choose when the time comes to never pass American Muffler again. Stand up business offering phenomenal customer service on the spot. I highly recommend stopping in to see what Tony and the American Muffler family can do for you and your vehicle's needs. Thank you!!

This place is excellent!!! I was referred here by my friend Jimmy!! I brought my 2016 maxima in for exhaust repair I was all jammed up bc I only had my motorcycle to drive while my car was broken and the rain was coming. They said bring it in we will take care of you and they did!!! Not only did they install the new cat and flex pipes but also made me a new flange and didn t charge me for it. My car was done in 3 hours and done right! Beat everyone else s estimates and turnaround time across the board. Thank you Tony and the rest of the American Muffler family you guys are great at what you do and awesome people. I ll definitely be back!!!

Brought my 05 350 Z for a new exhaust. Tony guided me to where to buy the part and he installed it. I was actually referred to them by another mechanic who was too busy to get my exhaust done in a timely manner. What a difference going to a family business that cares and puts in the time to help the customer and reasonably priced... 2 thumbs up, I would refer anyone I know.

Very accommodating family owned business. Tony was able to squeeze me in at was definitely a busy time and replace the flex pipe on my daughters SUV. It was a fraction of the cost of replacing the entire y - pipe that the failed flex pipe was welded too. I would absolutely use him again and recommend his shop .

Came in today for a simple exhaust leak after getting some horrific quotes over at meineke and other muffler shops. To my surprise i was quoted only $150 to fix this issue, after being quoted over $600 other places. Took just under a half hour to do the job and i m very satisfied. Tony went above and beyond to show me what needed to be replaced instead of hoping that i wasn t being ripped off. I am coming to this place for all my mechanic work! My exhaust pipe was done for and another place I checked out was trying to take advantage of me and charge an astrological price for it, so I asked around. American Muffler was recommended and now I know why.. They are amazing!! Fast and very reasonable, a third of the price the other place had tried to get out of me. By far the friendliest service, honestly best mechanic experience I had. They helped me out and took care of my car for a fair price. Highly recommended!Service: Exhaust

I brought my car in to get an exhaust leak I had repaired about year and a half ago. The staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. They communicated the issue thoroughly and offered me options for the repair. They did an amazing job with the repair. Recently, I developed another exhaust leak, so I brought it back to them they inspected the issue and saw that the part they replaced failed. They ended up repairing and replacing the part under warentee at no cost to me! This shop is amazing. I highly recommend them, and I will be returning in the future! Thank you!Service: Exhaust

WONDERFUL PEOPLE WONDERFUL SERVICE. The nicest people ever. I was in such a tight bind after getting my catalytic converter stolen a week before moving upstate. Tony had to build a custom set-up for me and kept me in the loop the whole time. They treat you like family- I met their puppy and 6 month old while waiting!

Read quite a few reviews before going here all favorable. Called this morning about repair of exhaust system, was given a 12 pm appointment. We have been going to American Muffler and Automotive Service for approximately 6 years. It is a Family run business. Tony and his family are truly the nicest most honest people in the world! They are all about customer service and and meticulous workmanship! They also charge prices that are totally reasonable. They never skimp on the materials used and know everything about cars . They have always figured out the problems and made the repairs needed. No job is too small and they are always there if an emergency arises. I used to do all my own automotive repairs until age and arthritis crept up on me. So when the need arose I tried American Muffler and I must say I definitely made the right choice. I highly recommend American Muffler. I have found them to be an excellent automotive shop, and not just for mufflers and exhaust systems, but also for general repair work. I first brought my 03 Dakota there about a year ago for a muffler and tailpipe and they did an excellent job, using high quality components. Then a couple of months ago I returned to have my rotted fuel tank straps replaced and again they did an excellent job. Most recently when my rotted hydraulic brake lines burst I brought the Dakota back to have all the lines replaced and once again they did an outstanding job. I have found the entire staff to be extremely friendly and knowledgeable, very meticulous in their work, and they always give you that little bit extra, which makes all the difference between an adequate repair and an outstanding repair. I will be returning to American Muffler whenever the need arises. I wouldn t go anywhere else. Many thanks to the entire American Muffler staff. Well done everyone!!!

Needed some exhaust work done on a classic ford. Drove past a bunch of local exhaust shops to American Muffler because of the reviews. Not only did they do a great job for a great price, I also got a ton of expert information and advice about my new ride. Family owned, owner operator. Couldn't have had a better experience. Good, trustworthy people. I highly recommend this shop!!!!

American muffler in east Patchogue is an amazing family owned business. I made a last minute appt to get my flex pipe replaced and they were able to squeeze me in. It was completely blown out and there was another leak that Anthony fixed for no extra charge! Extremely nice family and great hospitality. Very fast, efficient service and fairly priced ! So thankful I found this amazing mechanic shop. They also have a body shop on the other side of the building ANDD they do inspections, one stop shop!! I highly, highly recommend American muffler for any car services you need. I will DEFINATELY back!!

Family run business, honest quality work at reasonable price. Very straight forward when discussing my exhaust repair. Recommend the best way to fix my problem and it wasn't the most expensive option. I will definitely return for any future work I need.

I went to American Muffler this morning to have some advice on what to do with the exhaust of my SL 500. After a rough start Tony understood quickly what I wanted and we decided to remove the muffler. Tony weld a custom line the sound is literally night and day. Great family shop owned by great people. American Muffler is a family run operation with some amazingly talented welders on staff in addition to the super sweet and helpful people behind the desk handling inquiries. Our 2002 Accord (originally with dual exhaust) was in their shop for a good 4 days but their creative solution saved me a lot of money and I will certainly return for any and all of my families exhaust system needs in the future.Originally, we were told by our family mechanic that the entire exhaust system would need to be replaced (approx $1800) when it snapped in half just south of the catalytic converter. The family mechanic didn t have the welders necessary for the job in addition to being short handed that week. So after procrastinating until the rear half of the exhaust got caught on a gas station driveway, crushing and wedging it in place, I had it towed to American Muffler.Good thing I did because this is exactly the kind of thing that American Muffler excels at. After a quick assessment, Tony says that the cheapest thing they can do is custom build a new exhaust system from the catalytic converter on back for $250. The front half of the exhaust system (the expensive part) was still in good enough condition!On a personal note, I had just inherited the car from my father who had passed very recently so I was completely out of sorts over it to begin with. Never the less, the car was in good hands and my trust in American Muffler was rewarded.I was blown away to the point of tears, sure I had misheard him or he had yet to add in the cost of labor but American Muffler is full of talent and pleasant surprises. After tax, they saved us over $1500 from our family mechanic s original estimate.Thank you very much to everyone at American Muffler for saving our car and saving us money at the same time. Your kindness and professionalism will not be forgotten.

Came in late way past my appointment but they stayed close to 2 hours after closing to get my muffler deleted done and wow it sound amazing. Customer service was great and had snacks for you to eat while waiting. Would definitely recommend to everyone!!

Do not let them work on classic cars , you will be very sorry , instead of using factory hangers they drilled through trunk floor for hangers , who does this kind of thing to a classic car , they also damaged my passenger door and then helped me load car onto tow dolly so I wouldn't notice damage , well they got me good , then he didn't know how to properly bleed rear disc brakes but charged me for trying smh , never again Tony never again Also after reading all the reviews , had to ask myself this must be some business with all excellent reviews . NOT ,there more then likely alot of fake reviews .
