I called in regards to information on updating a license and the employee who answered was pleasant and helpful. I went in shortly after open and there was no line; I was in and out in 10 minutes! The employee who helped me was also pleasant and answered all of my questions. Best experience I ve had in a DMV so far.

Short line, staff was very kind and helpful, we screwed up the paper work and he, helped us fix it and transfer the title. A very busy place, but they kept the line moving.

The Dmv in painted post is full of helpful people and they all have excellent personalities and are so helpful and are great change of pace and was good to have a pleasant exchange at a the DMV.

They never answer the phone. For any quick question, your only choice is to take time off on a business day to visit their office.Except for that, people there are nice and helpful.

These folks are awesome. They have been so helpful to me, and offer great suggestions. I wish I could provide a sincere shout out to each person. Folks, just go there without a chip on your shoulder. These folks will help you. Respect and speak calmly.

This office is absolutely ridiculous.. Some of the staff here have very poor attitudes and professionalism is substandard. I have seen an older gentleman working there demoralize and laugh at someone because their paperwork was filled out incorrectly. While at the window desk I have seen them pick up the telephone and lay it back down to disconnect the call when the phone was ringing multiple times. Which might explain why I've been trying to get ahold of this office for 5 days with a combined number of calls at 71. Not one answered call. This office should be reported. This review is 100% honest to my experience. unacceptable.

A gentleman there is very professional and helpful, a woman is very short and develops an attitude quickly. I am always polite and ask simple questions and there is always reluctantcy to look at my record or check, always give the I'm not quite sure response. I don't always have time to come down and I think they make up their own policy at times

The lady with long blonde hair is beyond rude. Didn't even say hello after I greeted her. She just spews negativity and hatred of her job. I wish I would've taken her picture with her sour face on.

Poor customer service, when asking a few questions I got attitude. Mind you I was polite the whole time. Do you guys just listen to the phone ring? I ve called a few times to no answer. I understand it gets crazy but come on. EDIT: Finally got through to a very kind gentleman that answered all of my questions. Second impression is a lot better.

Had to register a trailer and they helped me with all the paperwork that needed to be filled out from the previous owner and myself. Friendly staff and was in and out fairly quickly. Very pleasant experience!

Great customer service. The staff member I interacted with was very courteous. The officer checking people in (3/9) was extremely helpful polite. I m really impressed as the DMV doesn t always have the best track record in terms of customer service experience

They are judgmental and seem to really hate their jobs. The two women who I dealt with need learn how to treat people with respect and a smile wouldn't hurt either. It's a place that I've always tried to avoid by going online but what I needed to do had to be done in person. I think if you ask anybody that is or has gone in person as I have this is the general consensus!!!! Terrible Experience and will try to avoid at all costs!!!

They are the opposite of great! As a state or government establishment. You would think they were smart and have the resources to shuffle people through safely. But a year into covid they are the only establishment that has not figured it. They make everything difficult, when they dont have do. It is very disappointing!

Despite bringing a passport, birth certificate, and report card (with address on it) my daughter was unable to take her learner's permit test because her parent was not there, which is contrary to NY State rules for the non-enhanced license/permit. Upon being called I showed up 8 minutes into her 15 minute time slot and was told that was too late as the entire thing needed to be completed in 15 minutes. It was pointed out to me they have many people on the list to service that day. Being lectured on this fact while being on the list and turned away without any service, contrary to their own written rules and contrary to sense of duty to actually serve the community, was a truly an exercise in absurdity.

They don't know how to answer a phone. I've been gone for 7 months trying to get my license fixed and I've called over 100 times and no one will answer or their phone is broken. FIX YOUR PHONE

**the Corning DMV has moved to 77 victory highway in painted post***The DMV teller was pleasant, unlike many of the DMVs I've gone to in NYS. Very quick to register my vehicle. I would recommend having the required documents filled out and ready to make the trip faster and easier.

By far the rudest phone call I've ever had

I know with the pandemic things are stressful for everyone but the down right nasty attitude and disrespectful behavior displayed by one of the workers made it so much worse. If the wait to be seen after having to schedule an appointment weeks ahead wasn't bad enough you have be belittled and sneered at like you had a choice to be there to begin with. The least they could do is have a few people answering phones so I could have my questions answered before I showed up. Bot just one person, it is the DMV.

Worst service ever and I thought bath was bad. There grade school attempt to speed up process( poster board) is a joke . Then you wait in line for paperwork that should be available with all the others. So people are left standing in line to get paperwork then sent back to wait again. Clerks ignore phone ringing and walk off to take their breaks....you see simliar behavior in bath dmv and dss offices. They are county employees with the worst customer service skills.

Got one of two things done. No trip to the DMV is ever entirely successful. The staff is first rate, super friendly, and as helpful as they possibly can be.

Not sure why this DMV gets all the negative reviews. I went in this morning with a concern over a vehicle title. I was helped immediately and professionally. Shout out to Wendy! The only negative was the proof of IDs and that rests squarely on the shoulders of NY state, not the DMV itself.

Shows that they are "not busy" so I'm like, hm ok I'm gonna try to call, they don't answer, so I repeat call over 20 times over a span of an 2 hours and no answer still, what kinda DMV are you, your supposed to help people and answer your calls, don't show your not busy on your website and not answer a call, let alone 20+ calls

Best DMV visit ever. The nice policeman ran our paperwork back and forth so it wasn't necessary for us to enter the building. Having a scheduled appointment is very efficient.

Would give zero stars for the Corning office if it were an option. unfriendly and not helpful. They told me I had to start my whole process over due to a simple title mistake. I left there and called another office, the other office helped me AND was friendly about it.

I had gone there to help a friend change their licence plate. He previously lived in California and said he had gone to this DMV 4 times and every time they tell him they need something new to bring. So he asked me to go, he speaks English well but it is his second language so he thought it may be easier for me. I went with a binder full of filled out paperwork, copy of the title, letter of approval to use the title, etc...the person at the counter had asked if we could use the title and she said they could. The only thing missing was New York insurance card. Once I got that I went back to the DMV a few days later , spoke to the SAME LADY and was told that the title would not work, that a signature had to literally be on the copy of the title and that the letter verifying the title meant nothing. 6 trips and not accomplishing the plate change is ridiculous. They need clear instructions on what you need!

One of the quickest and easiest DMVs I have ever been to. Everyone is friendly and tries their best to help you out.
