In response to Colleen C. I agree. I had the same problem. I had been a previous customer as well. My problem was that they wouldn't clear my debit card which had was short money on it to pay for my rental. I transferred the added funds and she still would approve my rental. She wouldn't even try to arrange it with corporate because I rented from them earlier. So I will go with Enterprise next time. They'll pick me up! RGJ Oneonta NY

So my vehicle had broken down and I was trying to obtain a rental car.I was able to book online but when I arrived there walking from the hotel with my dog she told me they had no vehicles available.Okay I can understand I guess I can understand that but nor did this woman go out of her way to do anything!!She didn't offer to say well you know maybe there's a vehicle coming in tomorrow I mean I had to ask her do you think maybe you'll have one tomorrow? I really don't know nor did she bother calling the hurts that's like 5 mi away to perhaps see if they had any available she did nothing to help me after the hurts website allowed me to rent a vehicle that was not there.No apology..No nothingI rented from hurts many times so this was my first bad experience I've ever had with this co.

Tone of voice was very rude. Although employees tried to help me, they showed zero consideration for the fact that this was my first time renting a car. The cost was hefty and they asked for a major credit card and a $500 refundable (after trip) deposit. I called up enterprise car rentals, located right in oneonta, I got a better deal, and kinder customer service. I do not recommend hertz. Definitely go to enterprise, a lot cheaper, and better service. Save yourself the money, time, and frustration.They 'hertz' your pocket

Victoria is an amazing and thoughtful person. She was courteous from the moment I walked in to her office to pick up my rental till I returned it. There was an issue with the van and she just helped me without any problems.Thank you Victoria your a great person so good to work with kind people!

Staff was very friendly and patient! Our rental vehicle was immaculate and very well maintained. Got us to our destination and back without any issues or concerns. We rented a 7 passenger Kia Sorento and it handled very well on the road. The price was well worth every penny! Very much exceeded our expectations.

Loved the car I got. Clean and up to date. Although the price on gas is steep. That's if u return the car when its not on a full tank. They will charge u 10.00 per gallon of fuel. Which I think is highway robbery.

Forget trying to call this company! Nearly impossible (and VERY aggravating) to TALK to anyone other than a maze of phone redirection to their website. Not worth the aggregation.

I have rented several vehicles from this location over the last year without issue. This time I rented from another location, as i was out of state, and was to drop off at this location. The vehicle broke down in the night time about 40 minutes away from the drop off location. After over an hour on hold with roadside assistance they were able to arrange a tow but not another rental vehicle as it was the middle of the night. I arranged transport the rest of the way home the tow truck was there in minutes to tow the vehicle. I called the Oneonta location the next morning before the rental was due back to make sure they were aware of the situation and the rental was closed out. It was at that time the rudest agent I had ever spoke to in my life informed me that I had to contact roadside assistance again and get them to check the vehicle back in, or else i was going to continue to be charged until it was returned to that Oneonta facility. I tried to give her my roadside assistance case number so the matter could be resolved and she said " you have to contact them". I had a broke down vehicle with no replacement, additional expense to arrange other travel to get the rest of the way home and now threats that I would continue to be charged indefinitely until I did their job for them, and I got someone to check the vehicle back after I found where the vehicle was transported. Somehow that is my responsibility as a customer not their responsibility as a company or as so called customer service agents.The real measure of customer service is the reaction when things go wrong not just how often they go right. By that measure I have to say this location has no customer service skills at all. As a customer, once I call Hertz roadside assistance I have no say over who gets dispatched to collect that car, where that car goes, or how soon it gets there. It isn't my car and it isn't my roadside assistance department, it is Hertz. Needless to say they have lost a customer, and I can't encourage anyone to give this place business and hard earned money to get no service at all.

Victoria was very unprofessional. While I was sitting in front of her at her desk, she was constantly helping other people that came in after me. She reused to help us until my insurance agent suggested a direct bill option. Then she offered it to me.Her assistant, I do not know her name was a sheer delight to speak to on the phone.I would avoid hertz and Victoria, life is too short to deal with someone so mean

Good experience, fast and professional, especially if you ve used Hertz before and have an online reservation already set up with your drivers license and credit card.Easily reserved car in app, very quick through Hertz Gold Membership.

Editing my review. A long time employee left I was worried the customer service would leave with him but I was wrong it is still a very fast, friendly experience anytime I rent with Hertz and I would like to say it seems they got a better fleet of cars now also. Definitely recommend Hertz over any other rental places in the area. I would give 10 stars if I could

My wife and I have rented a car from Hertz at 195 Oneida St. Oneonta, NY on several occasions. It has always been a pleasure. The man or the woman who has assisted us were at all times friendly and efficient. Excellent service and great prices.

Hertz doesn't have one set price for any vehicle. It depends where & when you rent. Agent who answered showed annoyance and on my 3rd question she stated, " you have endless questions. Go on line". When renting a vehicle for a month, in my opinion, you SHOULD ask more than 2 questions.

I have recently been renting cars to drive to the airport. It often works out cheaper than parking a car in Newark. The Hertz people at both ends of the rental (Oneonta & Newark) could not have been nicer, more efficient, or more helpful. Do the math. This may be a good solution!

For over 6 years now, Hertz has become Sviba Decorators and its owners only place to rent a vehicle of any size and purpose. Primarily due to the manager, "Mr Rocco" who has always been courteous, prompt and diligent in going out of his way to make life easier for us. In truth, it is because of Rocco that we use Hertz versus its competitors within the entire 4 town area.

Needed a car to get around the area and there had one last minute and it suited our needs. Was easy to pick up and drop off. Nice reprentative helped us. Would recommend!

I keep trying to make a reservation and even though I am choosing a date and time that the website says the location is open I get an error that says it's closed. It should not be this difficult and I don't have time for such nonsense. I'll take my business elsewhere!!!

Made a reservation online and they rented my car to someone else because I didn't pick it up right at the time I indicated. This was a reservation I'd made a week in advance for a one-way trip from Oneonta to Baltimore. No call or anything.

After a minor accident that required my vehicle to be on the shop for several days, I needed a vehicle and the people at Hertz were great! The rates were very reasonable and the service was excellent.

The process was quick and easy and priced very well. They are difficult to reach by phone at times, but everyone was nice and made sure everything went smoothly.

Dirty Cars, They said their car wash was broken, rented a car that was out of inspection. AVOID. Not very genuine customer service.
