picked up my 14' Classic this week, and Josh was nothing short of excellent. Had to drive up from Chicago to retrieve the boat due to shipping difficulties, but Josh accommodated me by coming in on his day off just so I could take delivery. He even took the time give me a demo on how to get in and out of the boat properly, which I must have not payed even attention to since I dumped myself into the water about 30 minutes later! (I hope Josh gets a laugh from this!). Love the boat, cannot say enough good things about Hornbeck. Thanks Josh and Holly!

If you are looking for a canoe that can float in a few inches of water and weighs under 16lbs look no further!Hornbeck boats are designed for lakes, streams and small waterways. Made of Kevlar or Kevlar and Carbon, these boats are amazing ! I have a teak lip on mine and we have hundreds of miles of shared time, paddling through the Adirondacks.Each boat is handmade in Minerva,NY (Exit 26 on the Northway.)

Purchased to be a lightweight canoe for paddling and portaging for solo and tandem canoeing. Paddles well. To convert it from solo to tandem is terrible. Hornbeck needs to figure out a better way. Yoke is a problem too.

I love both my 9 and 10 foot high rise! My 9 foot is at a northern home, my 10 ft at Jersey shore! At 66 it s light weight and easy for me to handle on my own! Thank you Peter Hornbeck for adding your signature to my canoe!

Just picked up my solo/tandem today after much anticipation and am so so excited to take it out! The people here are great and were willing to stay late to help us out after some unfortunate miscommunication. From demoing the boat to driving away with it tied onto the car, the whole experience was great. Thanks so much and highly recommend!

I picked up my boat first thing on Saturday, July 30th 2022. Overall I feel good about the process. Expect the boat to take some time to be completed. These are handmade when they are ordered, and the quality is excellent. This takes time and needs to be done correctly so the boat will last a lifetime. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The price is good considering what you are getting. I recommend trying all the boats that interest you. I went there thinking I was going to buy a New Trick, ended up by buying the 13' Classic. Listen to the staff and they will explain the differences in each model. I am biased as a fellow Adirondacker and wanted to support a local business. Hornbeck makes this easy by offering a top notch boat designed for use here in the park.

Very pleasant experience. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. Josh was very patient with my dad and his questions. He did a great job with our demo group. Can't wait to get the new boats out!

I bought myself a 14 1/2 foot one person hybrid boat on my retirement 2 years ago. I use it for removing invasive water chestnut on MA ponds. I love the ease of paddling, super lightweight (I can carry it a long ways with one hand to get to hard to reach ponds). I have used mine about 30 days a summer since I got it. So much easier to use than a heavy kayak.

Great experience, trying out their boats, ordering, getting delivery. Very responsive, knowledgeable, and for light, easy to maneuver and easy to transport, their boats can t be beat.

Located in a very lovely area of the foothills of the Adirondack Mts. Hornbeck boats are made on site in a barn, after you trial various styles and sizes. The boats are made in regards to your height and weight keeping in mind what you will carrying and using the boat for and in what conditions. There is a pond there to paddle in. You are able to change into your bathing suit in their bathroom. Staff is courteous, knowledgeable, friendly without sales pitch or pressure. The first person to meet us was the creator/owner. Your made-to -your specifications boat, is ready in approximately 3 weeks!I am in awe of the craftsmanship and in love with my Hornbeck boat. One just glides over the water as if in a cloud!. I am able at age 63 to travel 3 times the distance as prior to owning this boat and an appropriate paddle. Thank you Mr. Peter Hornbeck and staff.

We had a marvelous experience with Peter on the Pond trying out numerous boats. All wonderful in themselves and we were so helped by Peter's experience and observations and teaching. We were able to select the perfect boats for each individual. We look forward to many happy years of paddling our Horbecks and practicing our "Peter Paddle". He even gave us an autographed picture with us in our boats on Blue Mountain Lake (which I neglected to bring home but will secure when I return for my "fitting". Much appreciation and hope you get some much needed rest!!Sue

We bought a 10 foot personal canoe for my wife that she just loves. Only about 15 so it is easy for her to launch and store. Some would call them expensive but they are very nice. Can try out any boat on the pond right on the property. Personal service. Pleasant staff. Met the owner.

The boats are the lightest. Josh taught me new methods for getting in and out. The paddle sliced through the water with ease. I bought both, so I can certainly recommend, if that's what you want. Well off the beaten track, but that's a good thing.

The folks at Hornbeck couldn't be more accommodating. They made trying and buying a pleasure. I got a 12' classic fishing model and I was impressed with the how the oars move the boat and with its glide. I want to go back with my grandkids to get them a boat that fits them.

Absolutely love my new 16' Solo/Tandem Doubletrick. Had it out for a six mile maiden voyage in 15 mph winds and 2.5 foot whitecaps on Raquette lake. I really don't know how they designed a low profile boat weighing 32 pounds that was able to handle big open water so well. It tracks super true as well. Loved dealing with the folks up there. So easy to try all the boats on the site of their shop in a little pond. I absolutely knew whay I was getting when I took delivery a coupme of weeks after ordering. I bought local, and it cost less than most of their national competitors. I suspect this won't be my last Hornbeck.

Fantastic experience! The boats are beautiful! Customer service is excellent. No pressure. They will fit a boat to you, but let you try whatever boat you're interested in.

Great experience. Friendly and very helpful staff. Able to paddle canoe on pond before making purchase. Canoe ready ahead of schedule. Lovely grounds and pretty ride to shop.

Got a 14' new trick. Had to of been one of the most pleasant buying experience I have ever had. Everyone was great. They spent quite a lot of time making sure I got the right fit for me.
