If you find yourself in the Old Forge, NY area in the need of a tow, road side service, or auto repair, I highly recommend Howard's Towing. I was visiting the area during St. Patrick's Day weekend and unfortunately picked up a nail in my right front tire. A quick Google search showed Howard's was the only place in the area open over the weekend. I went to his shop early on Saturday morning and dealt directly with Howard. He was polite, professional, and quickly plugged the tire. He also charged me a very fair price. He is a hard working, local businessman who knows how to treat customers, both locals and out of towners.

Amazing assist and tow up a dangerous road!Time of Year: Frozen January.The roads in Old Forge are horrible for cars that aren't prepped for black ice.We got stuck at the bottom of 4 Seasons Lane and my AWD car could not get back up. I called on a Sunday night and asked if they could come Monday morning. There were there exactly on time and got my car up the hill with no trouble.Always nice and offered sound advice. Highly recommend!

Our car stopped working on our way home on a late rainy Sunday afternoon. Shortly after we got in touch, Howard met us, towed our car, and very kindly gave us a ride to Utica because there were no hotels available in Old Forge. Howards is the best! The service was beyond expectations and the price was fair! Highly recommend!

I was in a gas station and asked a local police officer where I should go to look at my tire which kept leaking. It was Friday just after 5 PM and it was raining. He told me he uses Howard s Heavy Towing and to give them a call to see if they were still there. Not only were they still there, but they waited for us and immediately found the hole in my tire and patched it up quickly. They saved our vacation!!!!

Howard and his team went above and beyond to help repair a tire with a snowmobile stud stuck in it. They drove to the vehicle, put on the spare and repaired the punctured tire, then driving back and replacing it before the day was done. True small town service. Thanks!!!!!!!

Cant say enough about the service here. We were in a tight situation trying to get home from a weekend trip to the area and despite a last minute need, Howards came through for us. Probably the hardest working guy in the business that I've come across, and willing to go the extra mile for a couple of complete tourists who were in a tough spot. Excellent service, more than reasonable prices, and honest work.

Howards was absolutely amazing to us!! at a time we were stressed out traveling with 2 kids and having 2 tires go at separate times and having another one on its way out by the time we got to the campground in old forge they took right care of us replacing the 2 tires right away and allowing us to get the other 2 off and replaced on a weekend no less! after getting home he happily talked to insurance for us! Truly great people

We were on vacation and staying in Old Forge. The alternator in my car (2011 Honda) was just about dead. This was Saturday evening. We thought we would have to get a AAA tow to Utica and rent a car. But we ran into Howard as we walked to town for dinner. He was able to get an alternator and install it by Monday morning !!! Yep ! He worked on Sunday to help us. He saved the rest of our vacation and the car is working great !

Can t say enough about these guys! Our car broke down three hours from home after a family vacation. They picked up our car within a half hour of us calling. They replaced the starter in our 2013 Cadillac Escalade and had us back on the road 2-3 hours later! Reasonable prices! Highly recommend! Great guys!

Howard and his staff went a bit beyond normal business practice today - from towing out pick up truck into town during a heavy rain to accommodating our service needs like normal shops wouldn t have- and on Saturday afternoon- was on the road back to Rochester in less then 3 hours.Was truly blessed with timing on everything today considering Completely true review and my daughter and I are now home from summer camp pick up- thank you again- Paul and familyService: Special vehicle towing

Howard rescued us from the side of the road when our boat trailer lost a wheel, ordered a new trailer, housed our boat cleaned our boat and was an all around great businessman. Ethical and fair! Many thanks!!

They were able to repair a tire so that we could get home from our vacation in Old Forge. They were wonderful and and more than fair priced and they basically made a happy ending to a great week! We wish them a successful future!

While camping at Old Forge Campground, went to make a run into town and it sounded like the tire was going to fall off. Howard was quick to pick us up and very professional and was on time. When he says he will be somewhere or do something he does it and goes above and beyond. Would definitely call him again for any services needed and would definitely reccomend him to anyone needing services.Service: Car towing

In July 2023, I took a short vacation to Old Forge, NY. While there I noticed that my favorite iron frog plant hangar was in the car. Several weeks ago, I dropped it while hanging a plant and it broke into. I put it in the back of the car with intentions of having it repaired. But never got around to it. While walking around in Old Forge, I happened to visit a store that had a hardware store in the back. I inquired if they knew of anyone who could repair my plant hanger. They recommended Howard s Heavy Towing. I went there and sure enough they were able to weld it together at a reasonable price and spray paint it. The only mechanic I've ever paid more than what they asked for a job. Patched an exhaust that had fallen down for way less than they could have. Howard and Derek are good and honest guys. Nothing more important than an honest mechanic.

Top notch towing and repair service. Responded promptly to my call for tow. Diagnosis was quick, and they went out of their way to track down parts. Worked until 8 pm to get me on the road. Overall great bunch of guys.

I called him and asked if he had time to switch tires that I really needed switched that day he said he was busy but bring themUp.
