Horrible place! Dragged my car side ways across the parking lot and never released the transmission so my 4WD was in neutral to load it on the tow truck. Broke the internal steering wheel lock, ripped off my front bumper and scratched the hood and fender with the tow chain. Then they said "You can't prove any of what happened!" Turns out the parking lot I was in had security cameras and caught it all on tape! AND 3 people in the shopping area Videotaped the entire mess with their cell phones! AAA is going after this place! BEWARE if you want to keep your car in one piece! See the photos!

Horrible experience. AAA should revoke their contract for towing. The shear laziness and unwillingness to help and do their job. Over 3 hours in the middle of the night just to be told that they weren't coming to tow on a road that was easy access and handles logging trucks on a daily. Foolish excuses. Do not use them for towing needs as they are unprofessional and lazy.

Had my truck towed from an accident, river road delayed the transportation of the vehicle, and lost the vehicle license plates during transport. I was led to believe Copart would mail my plates to me. After speaking with Copart Rachel explained to me "We will never mail plates without owner consent" and that River Road was misleading me. I was in constant contact regarding my plates. and was assured river road was getting my plates.Disclaimer: This could have been avoided if I just took the plates myself, But there has been a clear line of communication to dispatch about my license plates.VERY DISAPPOINTED

Will never send a viechle here again sent in for alignment at 130 after 5 they just go home without saying a word and keep my house keys locked up will never be back here dont recommend it dont show up or you will probably be ripped off or left waiting. They tried to upsell me parts to do work instead of what i asked them to do and woste hours they expect to be paid for. Never again.

Vehicle was stolen and wrecked. There charging me 400 for a 5 mile tow and keeping the vehicle. And holding my things till I pay and give them the title

I and my three dogs went off the road into the ditch. Was 11- degrees F. Called them to tow me out. Costed me $150.00. Have so few choices you must settle for what is available. On a fixed income this can really hurt you. He was competent and fine once he actually found me. I guess you have to pay higher rates when you have no healthy competition in the trade or when all collaborate to keep prices high.There are those who will understand what I am trying to convey here. Would have felt better if I did not feel I had been somehow exploited because of circumstances that I was faced with at the time. Felt like I had to settle for a high toll because circumstances demanded it. I guess I would use the service again if I was as desperate as I was and if there is nobody else I can get who charges a reasonable rate; that makes it known that they even exist!Respectfully,John LyonTHIS WAS MY SINCERE OPINION! I was not given an option to say I neither liked nor felt dislike and that was how I was left feeling, I was numb with at feeling that I had been somewhat exploited. I was disappointed at getting ripped a new hole on the fee and glad as heck not to be left to freeze! Is that clear enough of a review for you?

when they towed my BMW. They belted down my and bent my control arms. $1200 it cost me. Then my car broke down near there shop and they tried to charge me $400 to fix. Tried to say it was my remote starter causing the issue. Ripped that out. Was not the problem. Plus, it only cost me $150 to put the remote starter in. How could it be over double that to take it out. Had my car towed by another tow company to another repair shop. Had it fixed by people who actually know something about cars. These people at River Road Auto know nothing about cars. Do not go to this place for any reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Called AAA to have car towed. AAA accessed this towing service. They were more than an hour later than they first said they would be there to get my car. I just found out (two days later) that the driver never notified the garage that the car was there; they just dropped it in the lot, left the keys in the ignition, and drove away. So the car has been just sitting there for two days with no work being done on it. On the positive side, they did take the car to the right place, but I would expect them to be more thorough/helpful.

Here s the thing... I ve never done business here, but I got a letter in the mail dated Aug 7th 2020 Thanking me for purchasing my last vehicle there. From a Mike Baldwin.1. I ve never been to Norwich in my life.2. I ve never heard of this business3. Every vehicle I ve purchased in the last 15 years has come from a dealership.4. How did they get my name and address?

Called at 4:30 pm and asked if they were AAA they said yes. Asked if they did lockout service they said yes. My wife had locked her keys in the car. There shop is less than 2 miles away from where she was. I was told they would send someone right out. 6:30 pm still not there. A local police officer came along and unlocked the car. It took the officer less than 1 minute. I hope someone in there family gets stranded somewhere and receives the same service.UPDATE - Spoke with the owner the next morning. He put me on hold while he spoke with his employees. When he came back on the line he could not apologize enough. He stated it was a lack of communication between his staff. He stated they will not take a service call of any kind if they can't respond within 20 minutes. That's just fine but it didn't help my wife standing beside her car for 2 hours.

The people who run this company; which is sad because they are a family run/local business who give small business companies a bad reputation. These people are straight up vilians who take advantage of disabled people and those in vulnerable situations. River road came to the aid of my brother and his girlfriend when their vehicle went off the road and needed a tow. They claimed to be associated with triple A(AAA) towing service! Lies! They are not! Go ahead and ask triple A! They are only good for parts and services!They denied access to the vehicle until my brother paid an outstanding bill of 425 dollars for being towed 21 miles. They denied my brother access to medication in the car which was needed for his girlfriend with epilepsy.I had to drive 3 hours to rescue my brother and his girlfriend. Because I knew my brother was being taken advantage of. When I started asking questions to River Road and made an appearance on their property until we received answers. They then allowed my brother to access the car for the medications.The son to this company has no back bone, is a two face liar and refused to print out a receipt for the towing cost/ bill. His mother Tina another liar too; one of the owers refused to email and send me a a copy of the receipt. Basically my brother was robbed of 425 dollars! Still have not received a receipt. We've called every day for a week after the accident. Although, I made Tina write on a piece of paper I had in my own car: the date, price, car, her signature..etc.I will not rate this company! I will be reporting them to the better business bureau and the disabilities determination process bureau and triple AAA has been notified as well.Stay clear of this company!!!!!.Do not use their services!' They're crooks!!

I constantly receive Approval codes from this place from Mike Baldwin , but yet there is no way to view their inventory online. Sorry not going to waste my time if I can't see what vehicles are available prior to going there.

River Road Automotive to the rescue. My car was not starting and Mavis of Norwich couldn't diagnose. River Road got me back on the road quickly and inepensively. I would highly recommend their service.

Very rude and was told no after I'd already called them and told yeah no problem just walked out no words like there gonna do what I was there for them to do theu say again their not gonna do it. I work for a local business and tryed to use a local company very dis pleased

Best shop in NY. Only knowledgable mechanics ive met. Dont cheat you on your inspection with fake ball joint problems like every single other shop in the county. Would give more stars if i could.
