Mike, Jacob and the techs are great! I took my 2019 sonata, with 130k on the odometer in for a routine oil change, but I mentioned to Mike that the transmission was starting to feel a little clunky and inquired about maybe getting the fluid changed. He explained everything to me in detail and gave me all the options and opinions he has from his years of automotive experience. Even going as far as to say that it may not be a good idea to change the fluid, that if it s already reached a certain point it could actually do more damage to change it. He said, let s take a look at it. This is someone that cares more about doing the job right than just selling the customer whatever they can. They do great work for a good price. We ended up doing the transmission fluid change and now the car drives like it s new. I will never bring my car to be worked on anywhere else, unless the guys at Greatway recommend it. Superb mechanic! Definitely service your vehicle at Greatway, especially if you are looking for tires.

Unexpectedly my car battery died so I called around different locations for pricing. I was told a certain price over the phone, and told there would be no charge for installing a battery. They ended up charging me $60 for installation! If I would ve known that I would have installed it myself. I have called the store several times to speak with the manager, and they always tell me he s not in or available. Save yourself money and headaches by avoiding this place.

Very impressed. Called for a while you wait inspection, they got me right in, right out, and had good Wi-Fi I didn't even get a chance to use while I waited.

Partially repaired vehicle. And even though I had an appointment 5 days in advance they worked on other vehicles for 2.5 days while my vehicle sat in their parking lot. No phone call letting me know this was happening. I luckily live right down the road and could see other vehicles being worked on that were not dropped off prior to my vehicle being on site. I had to call multiple times to find out why my car wasn't being repaired. It needed an AC compressor changed. I previously bought all necessary parts so they couldn't use that excuse. The guy that did the repair was on-site each day so that couldn't be used as a reason. They actually never gave me an answer they just kept saying we'll get it done as soon as possible, which again wasn't true either. I don't mind having to wait, just be honest about it. I could've continued using the vehicle is they weren't ready or were backed up but they never even offered that as an excuse so.... Also to do the AC pump replacement they had to remove the serpentine belt. 2 days after I got the vehicle back it started making crazy noises turns out the belt tensioner literally fell apart because the bearing were falling out. Strange as hell they didn't put two fingers on that and the idler pulley and give them a millisecond of a shake to check them prior to installing the new belt I provided prior to service. And that's what my experience was so use that as you will. Best of luck.

Got a flat on I-87 while headed home from the Adirondacks. After being told by multiple places in the area they couldn't plug it until the following day we called Greatway. Dennis told us to bring it in and they'd take care of it. It was almost 5 on a Friday when we pulled in. The tire wasn't salvageable so he found a used tire with good tread and popped in on there for a really reasonable price. Solid service with a smile. 100% reccomend this spot.

My husband and I highly recommend Greatway Tire and Auto Center. Jacob and his staff came through by going above and beyond during a very difficult situation for our family. This summer we were heading to the Jersey Shore with a packed Jeep for a family vacation (with a 2 year old and infant), but our vehicle started to overheat on the NYS Thruway. We exited in Newburgh and looked for a service station. Not being familiar with the area we were extremely lucky to find Greatway Tire and Auto Center. Jacob and his top notch mechanics were able to identify the problem, get the parts and replace them all within a few hours. They were super accommodating and helpful in a situation that was very stressful for our family. We were able to make it to our vacation spot thanks to the extra effort they extended to us. Our family is forever greatful to Jacob and his staff for their care. Their support was unbelievable and we highly recommend them. They even reached out a few days and months after to ensure that everything in our vehicle was running smoothly. Came here to get a tire plugged. Ended up talking to the manager, Dennis. he's a really friendly and knowledgeable guy. Came off as very straightforward and honest.

Normally a great experience, but during my most recent visit they cracked my taillight during a bulb change and installed the housing crooked. They did not take responsibility for the damage and attempted to sneak it by me.It is a needlessly difficult job changing the taillight and I get how it could crack. Not notifying me the damage and fixing it is what I don't get.Services: Electrical repair, Tires

Dennis and his crew members are awesome people. So helpful and considerate, not to mention how fair their prices are. I was completely unprepared for the weather, I had no jack or lug tools to change my tire and they loaned me everything I needed to be on my way. Great service.

This place is ok, they won t rip you off but they also won t go the extra mile. The few times I ve been here, they have been VERY busy. The gentleman at the front desk likes to tell you I ve got 13 cars ahead of you I made an appointment to get my oil changed and they did so suspiciously quick for how busy they were. I also had them check my brakes and all they could tell me is they squeak because they re cheap pads . At no point did they try to resolve my issue or provide any insight on what to do. Moral is make an appointment, don t expect the world and you ll walk out of there with your car serviced to the extent you paid/ asked for. Nothing more, nothing less.

I got stuck in Newburgh late on a Friday night with a flat tire and since I did not have a full-size spare had to stay in Newburg for the night. Went to this place early on Saturday morning without an appointment and was pleased to see that Dennis had the tire size & type that I was looking for in stock. Dennis was prompt to check his inventory and his crew started working on my car within 30 mins. I had my car with a new tire in about an hour. I would have given 5 stars to the service alone but I also found Dennis and his crew to be very professional and I think that even their prices were reasonable. So a well deserved 5 stars! Keep up the good work guys!

I had a bad leak on my transmission line and as my son,a new driver,was driving,I did not catch it quickly enough. I literally just made it to Greatway Tire as the tranny was on the edge of being too hot to come back from ! Thank Goodness for the mechanic named Jodi as he is an expert on Ford Escorts and saved the day !!! He did not know me,I had been in before but had never dealt with him and he spent an hour and a half making a safe transmission line from parts around the shop just so we could make it home. They charged me so little I had to tip him and I truly feel that they care about your safety as you drive away !!! :) I will Always come here now,they are fair,honest,helpful and really trustworthy !!!

Great way with owner Dennis Dino really helped when I needed it the most. They went out of their way to diagnose and repair the cause of a leaking coolant system that would otherwise have stranded us. In addition, the charge was pleasantly reasonable. Took a while to temporarily solved the problem. Did a ton of maintenance on a high mileage car. Our situation was unique as we knew it was goung to be an expensive bill. Just check the charges, books are not a strong point.

Small home town business. Quality work at a reasonable price. Willing to pick you up and drop your off if your car needs to be serviced for a couple of days. ( town & city of Newburgh ). Willing to stop what they are doing if you stop in with quick question,to give you advice or set up appointment. Place is always busy, people very friendly and noageable.

We came across this place when we were on a road trip to VT and the "check engine" light started. The car stopped accelerating while we drove on the highway and we were forced to pull onto the shoulder. We got it started again, brought the car in around noon and Dennis was very helpful, treating our situation with urgency to get us on our way. He determined the problem, explained it fully and proceeded to make numerous calls to locate the part. He immediately sent one of his guys on the 25-mile drive for the part, estimated 2 hours for the job, recommended a couple of places for lunch and even offered to drive us. We were out of there in less than two hours and he was kind enough to check the transmission fluid and top off the oil. The pricing was also very fair. Thank you, Dennis!

Honest repair shop. What more can I say? Dennis, the manager, tells you exactly what is wrong with your car and fixes it for a reasonable price. They have not let me down yet. They also notice some things that might need fixing and suggest a fix. One thing I like, they insist on using quality OEM parts, even if the price is a little bit more - because it saves you money in the end. They are a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Very rude and unprofessional. Scheduled a service request online and a week later still no response. Called on Tuesday and asked to come in for an insurance photo inspection and told me to come in anytime after 2 on Friday. Called Friday morning to confirm and said they couldn't get me in until next week and the guy on the phone was extremely rude and said he was clearly busy. He said it's not a priority as it's a free service and he makes no money off it. Now he'll make no money off me as a potential customer. No excuse for being rude and not responding to customers.

I needed brakes on my CRV and went to Greatway on the recommendation of my neighbor. I received a clear proposal on what was to be done. Rotors and pads for all four wheels. I was told what brand and grade parts were to be used, which were all the very best. The work was performed as I waited and only took a couple of hours. There were no surprises on the bill, and I thought the price to be very fair. The work I had done was performed a month ago and so far I am very happy with the work done. I will very definitely be using Greatway Tire again.

Dennis explained everything to me intelligently and took care of my car needs. I don't see any reason to go anywhere else. I've learned that unless it's a special case you always get what you pay for. Thank you Greatway.

Dennis was able to get us in same day and replace my tire that had a bubble in it, which wasn't a common tire size. Very nicely run shop and will likely return.

Went two separate times to get a photo inspection. Both times it was a problem. The first time their computers were down, and the second time it was 3:40 and they're supposed to do the photo inspections M-F 2-4. The guy at the counter tells me the guy who does it just left. If it's supposed to be from 2-4 why did he leave? Very inconvenient for someone like me who is only off one day a week.

Never get work done here. They charged an elderly friend of mine $680.00 for a new catalytic converter. Taking advantage of the elderly is a shameful and disgusting way to do business.
