I've been using Prestige for over 20 years. They are reliable and thorough. It's very hard to love your car shop, they get your hard earned money but if you do the math and are realistic, cars cost more than the gas you put in. There is no free ride. It hurts me the least to leave my money at Prestige and Denise is fabulous.

The good - got in quick for an inspection. The bad - they told me I needed new windshield wipers (maybe I did... maybe I didn't - they showed me tiny tears at the end of each blade. No I don't think they were there before) - then they charged me $60 (!!!!) for new wiper blades. No they don't let you buy the ones you want down the block. Or replace them yourself on the spot. I suppose I should be thankful they didn't "find" anything else, since they charge a staggering $165/hour for their mechanics. Avoid this place if you can. There are lots of honest shops who do inspections.

Joseph was very friendly and patient. The other mechanics were helpful and informative. Front desk was attentive. Got my drivers side door fixed and it is perfect. They did an amazing job. Would 100% recommend!

DONT GO THERE THEY RIP-OFF.I went there to get my inspection as I'm waiting the owner come to tell me they wanted to talk to me about my car and my tires not being in good condition when I told them I have a guaranteed with Mavis his face color change and walk out leaving the mechanic to talk to me and try to convince me my car wont past inspection.Long story short I took my car to Mavis and pass my inspection. All they wanted was for me to spend money in they shop.

My car wouldn't start and I called Prestige Auto and Mike sent a tow to pick up my vehicle. Not only were they professional and on point and I was happy to have received my car the same day and running like new. The auto mechanics and staff are awesome. I will be returning for service and all my auto needs in the future.

This was the worst. I do not recommend going here at all. We flew from San Diego to New York and stayed at a hotel. We were driving to Times Square. We had two Grand Caravans. One part of my family was on one car and the other part was on the other. One of our car had smoke coming out of its wheel rim, and so we checked our wheel and engine. The rim of the wheel was so hot, the electricity wire to the automatic sliding door was shot, and for some reason the window wasn t rolling up. so we called AAA. AAA towed our car to this so called professional mechanic because we requested AAA to do so. And I called the mechanic beforehand and told him that AAA will tow our car to their place. Once AAA called and told us that it was towed, we drove at the mechanics place. He told us he will take three hours. So we agreed and thanked him. My son s birthday was today and I wanted to take him to the Statue of Liberty. Btw my son was in the car that wasn t broken down and successfully got to Times Square. The mechanic charged us 1100 dollars, and after that instead of three hours, he took TEN. We couldn t take my son to the statue, and we couldn t g at him pizza like he wanted to. We couldn t get him any presents because it got so late at night and the next morning we had to drive to Canada from there. We couldn t fly because we spent too much money on the fixing. It became night. And we slept in the car while my brother drove us. And next morning if that guy didn t take so long we could ve went to the CN tower the same day. Now I lie here writing this review angrily at my brothers house in Canada.

Front axle replacement.Do not go here! Warning - do not go here! Rip-off - so be warned!!! I came in for an inspection and mechanic showed me the crack in the casing so I needed a new front right axle in order to pass the inspection. I should have said No thanks and had the repair done elsewhere. The owner's first quote was $650 and I said "Are you nuts"? Then he told me he would try to get a better price and the bill was $289 for the axle and $234 for labor = $534 plus tax. I contacted several (3) auto repair places after and the price was $270 plus tax ($300).I confronted the owner after and told him thanks for ripping me off. I can also tell the bad reviews are from real people and the good reviews arefake.Be smart and take you business elsewhere.Zero stars!Service: Steering & suspension repair

Great experience getting our car inspected just now at Prestige Auto Repair. I called ahead and was quoted a wait time of 45 minutes from the time of arrival. The person on the phone was clear and professional. I arrived and I was greeted with a smile, asked to check in and was quoted the same time as on the phone. The waiting area was clean and warm on a cold day. In 15 minutes my car was completed and I was on way ahead of schedule. I noticed that each person who came was handled with the same level of wonderful customer service having their questions answered about their particular issue without being rushed. I will be happy to bring any automotive business back to Prestige.

I had my family move their business over to Prestige. The team is so nice and professional. They don't try to charge you for twelve things when you come in for one, but they do give your car a good once over each time, and I appreciate that. Very accommodating and easy to work with. You may need to call to check in on your repair (as opposed to them calling with updates), as they get slammed, but they have always been done on time. Highly recommend these guys!

I went for car inspection early morning. This is a popular place, and first come, first serve. Staff are courteous and friendly. I had to replace my wipers, they have good quality supplies, and reasonable labor charge.

Worst customer service I have ever received. When I showed up to ask about pricing and services, the owner rudely said to me he cannot answer anything unless I paid the required $80 service fee. I would of understand if he actually did work on my car, but I was just asking simple questions. I didn't need his tone and attitude so I took my business somewhere else. I'm sure their services are great as so many other reviewers have mentioned; however, if you care about being treated with respect as a customer, go somewhere else.

Convenience is a cost. Prices are definitely not budget friendly. Paid $1,100 for brakes and rotors on a 2017 F150. Had the first set changed for $675 in queens.Gave them two stars because most mechanics needed the truck overnight to work on and they were able to fit me in. Dropped off at 11 and it was ready by 530.

Bought my first car used, knew it needed and bunch of repairs and was dreading going to the mechanic. These guys are professionals -- friendly, capable, flexible, and most importantly they took care to explain everything to me and ensure I was comfortable with each piece of work. Haven't picked my car up yet but thus far, it's been a very good experience.

Often some car services charged me several hundreds of extra dollars when doing my car inspection. My friends often told me that I was ripped off by these car inspection services. Thus recently I searched on line for honest car inspection services and I was happy to find NY Prestige Inc. The survey showed NY Prestige Inc is not only honest, but also fast, efficient and provides work of high quality. So I went to NY Prestige Inc for my car inspection this year and oil change.Indeed, NY Prestige Inc. provided the best Auto service I have ever experienced. The manager and staff members are polite, fast, honest, and they provide best quality of work without charging any unnecessary extra fees. I drove to NY Prestige Inc. in the morning of a Saturday. I thought that I had to wait for hours to get the inspection + oil change done as my previously experienced at all other car inspection stations. But a Prestige staff member (His name was Robert, if I remember correctly) and the manager politely greeted me immediately and told me that they would start to do the work immediately. I was happy for the prompt response. There is a next door grocery shop, and I went there for a quick shop ~ 20 minutes. When I came back to Prestige, I was surprised to learn that all the work I requested was done (obviously less that 20 minutes) and my car was waiting for me to take off. This is the fastest and best auto inspection service I have ever encountered in US.I highly recommend NY Prestige Inc. to all the car owners.

These guys are legit and amazing. Brought in my 2010 Volvo XC90 to get it inspected, they basically told me they cannot do it because I needed new tires and they can order them for me and get it to me the next day, the issue was that I have already bought the tires and was waiting for them to come in at another business. They said I could cancel with the other guys and would give me a good price but when I told them how much I spent, they said to go with the other business and bring the car for inspection once I get the new tires installed, that's honesty and integrity. I will come back to them again. My inspection took less than 5 minutes.

I got my emissions test done here a while back and had a bad experience. I wish I'd trusted my first impressions and brought my car somewhere else.First of all, $145 PER HOUR is their labor charge. I thought I was reading their sign wrong when I was there to get my break-pads checked recently. They charge to even LOOK at your car. The quote I was given was very high and the owner was condescending when I spoke to him about how high I thought the quote was. There's no need to be rude, but it seems to come easy to him because he was rude a few years ago when I was here too.I ended up paying a fee for them to give me a quote - wow quite a scam to charge for a quote! I took my car to another shop and paid about 40% less than what this place tried to charge me. Don't fall for their con job!

Prestige Auto Repair was outstanding. The service was fast and efficient. I have come here for inspection, tune-ups, body work and other repair, and I have always been 100% satisfied. This morning for example I was in and out very quickly, with very pleasant customer care, and I could get back to work well before the planned time. I recommend them without any reservation. I came in early Sunday morning to get an inspection and my breaks fixed. They took us in right away, had the inspection done in 30 minutes and the breaks just a couple hours later. Their pricing is extremely reasonable as well; I was pleasantly surprised at the cost of the whole job, especially in Manhattan. Most importantly, I felt like I was dealing with honest people. I highly recommend & will definitely be back if/when there's a need.

I have tried a bunch of auto repair shops in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn over the past 10 years. One clearly over charged me, one did work I did not authorize and then probably overcharged me, my car broke down shortly after I had a tune up from one, and one was all cash and in Brooklyn. So based on some positive reviews here I gave Prestige a shot, and I am glad I did. The people I interacted with were professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They clearly described what they thought should be done (new battery, door replacement, new axle, and tune-up), why, and the cost. And they did great work. I will definitely be a repeat customer if the need arises and will very comfortably recommend them to friends.

I went to this spot for 2 break pads and engine oil change. After checking the car the manager suggested that I needed to change all 4 of my break pads +oil change they said it will cost $500. I declined and went to another auto shop where for the same service they asked for $220. What is interesting is that the new mechanic showed me that my break pads were fine and didn't need to be replaced. The best part of this whole experience was not the money I saved but the good feeling from dealing with a honest mechanic.

I come here for my NYS emissions inspection. They are always very accommodating and honest. I had a bulge on my sidewall that wouldn't let me pass inspection, so they recommended a nearby flat fix shop.The tire was replaced and I came back the next day with no wait to finish up what they started. Highly recommend.

Be careful with this place and be sure to ask for second opinions and third opinions before having them work on your car. They may up sell you on things you don t need. Service here is also quite pricey.My car has never had any engine issues since it was purchased in 2007. I went to get my AC fixed with them and when I went to pick up my car the engine was shaking. They insisted everything was fine but later that day, the check engine light came on and the car was barely drivable. Unfortunately, I was on the road on a 3 hour trip and almost didn t make it. Long story short, I m not sure if they caused the engine issue but by asking for several opinions from other mechanics, I realized that they were trying to fix the engine by up selling me things I did not need. I didn t trust them to do anything else on my car and ended up going somewhere else.

I went to prestige a couple of months ago due to an accident. the people where very helpful and honest. they where very patient with me and started to explain me everything they would need to do. there work is amazing. after they did the body work my car looked flawless once again. the car looked like it just came out from the dealer ship again. everything matched. id deff recommended this to people

I had been to Prestige Auto Repair for inspections but when I brought in my Jeep back in January that couldn t stay running under it s own power, I received what feels like a new Jeep, honestly it runs great. Along with the car misfiring and stalling Jay was quick in letting me know all the things the Jeep needed and quoted me fairly. Jay was very candid which I appreciated, he also treated me fairly when I brought the Jeep back in for what was the same problem. A fan shroud went missing and when I pointed it out a new one was put in promptly and free of charge. Good people, good servicing, no complaints. I will be back.

Highly recommend! Have gone there twice in the past couple of years. Both times, no funny business and quickly fixed simple issues for an incredibly reasonable price. Easy access in Manhattan on 3rd ave too. Bonus: they were super friendly with my dog that I brought both times as well.

When my mechanic retired and closed down his shop, I wasn't sure where I would turn. I'm so happy I found Prestige. I've been going to them for less than a year, but I've found them in that time to be honest, reasonably priced, competent, and really great at customer service: They are so good at explaining stuff and answering questions. They also don't try to upsell you. If you go in for an oil change and they notice you may need new brakes in 5,000 miles -- they won't try to sell them to you that day. It's never convenient if something goes wrong with your car, but it's such a relief to know that I can bring it some place I trust. You know how you know it's a good place? Check out the customers waiting. Everyone is friendly and happy (because they know they are not about to be ripped off).

Excellent service. Brought my car in the morning, even with brake, battery, and headlights issues, all issues were resolved in a matter of hours and was able to pick up my car the same day. Definitely going back there again. Highly recommended

The people that works here, are very professional and super nice! I went to get my car inspected. I told them i was in a time frame and they made sure to work around my schedule and did the inspection way before I expect it to be done. They did a marvalous job! They just got themselves a loyal customer! I'm not going anywhere for any kind of car service anymore! Thanks for being so professional!

The owner is a very nice guy and very professional. The mechanics are top notch. And super fast. I went out for a cup of coffee. After dropping off my car and 20 mins later my car was outside waiting for me to drive off. Their towing service is fast and efficient. Def recommend. Reasonable price. Go there !!!!!!
