Great customer service! We were visiting Watkins Glen in mid October when we got a flat tire and Gordon & his team were so helpful and able to get me a new tire in 24 hours! Very professional and so friendly. If we lived in the area I would make them my main mechanics! Definitely recommended.Service: TiresService: Tires

On Sunday, 10/22 I drove from CT to the Finger Lakes. By the time I arrived my battery light was on, which was strange since I got a new battery when Parmenter replaced my alternator at the end of August. I could see that the alternator was crooked and the belt was off. I drove it to them on Monday. The guy at the desk couldn't have been more indifferent. Wouldn't even look under the hood. Said they might be able to look at it Tuesday--the day I need to return to CT. He knew I didn't have another ride. Luckily Tom Pratt in Dundee was able to look at it that day and clean up Parmenter's incompetence. He showed me two rusty (how?) bolts that has snapped leading the alternator to shift and dig into the coolant. By the time I got to Pratt's , the dashboard lights were lit up like a Christmas tree. Parmenter wouldn't stand behind their work and has lost a loyal customer.

Gordan and Julie are the best! Parmenter was recommended to me by my resort when I arrived and my AC was out! They not only fixed the car at a reasonable rate, but also drove my daughter and I to Watkins Glen Park so we didn t waste time sight seeing on our vacation. I think everyone should give them a call! Just wanted to brag about Parmenter's in Montour Falls! We went to pick up a new boat and when we hooked on to the trailer we found the wheels/hubs loose. We went to the local marina and they wouldn't even talk to us. They said "Take it to Parmenters" I called the shop and explained our situation and Julie, the Sales Advisor could not have been nicer. She understood our urgency and said to stop down, we will make it work. Now mind you this wasn't an average boat trailer. We were loading a 13,000lb. boat, had special permits and a limited window to get home to Buffalo, NY, 2 1/2 hours away. When we arrived Terry got us parked and began immediately on the trailer. He pulled bearing covers off all six wheels and adjusted, cleaned and re-packed every one. The bearing on the center center wheel on the passenger side was bad so he ordered a new one from the local parts store and had it sent while he worked on the other wheels. For this shop to drop everything to help us was amazing! The staff all around was courteous and friendly. Terry had us back on the road and we made the trip safely. You would think the story ends there but the next morning I received a call from Terry asking me if we made it home OK and just wanted to check to be sure there were no issues. THAT was impressive! I would encourage anyone in the Seneca Lake-Montour Falls area to patronize this shop. Great People!! Kudo's to the shop!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Parmenters Motors in Montour has the best customer service and they have the most festive Christmas decorations. Their wreath is a blown out tire. Excellent, friendly, service. Came in while on vacation (with no appointment) needing service on my brakes and a wheel alignment and balancing on some very old and obscure cars. I was attending a Trackmasters event at WGI and developed a slow tire air leak. Stopped in to Parmenter tire when they opened and made a appointment for 10 O'clock. Arrived, was greeted and my car was promptly in the shop. 20 minutes later, the tech explained he found a defective valve in the tire stem. Asked me my wheel torque settings and what tire pressure I was running.I was on my way back to the track. Saved my track day!Awesome team at Parmenter Tire!

I took my vehicle here for some much needed maintenance, and although there were many things needed the pricing was much better than I anticipated, the time it took also wasn't bad. Chairs in the lobby aren't the most comfortable but that's to be expected of most chairs after some amount of time.Also there is a QR code for the guest wifi I hadn't seen until about 5 minutes prior to leaving so keep an eye out if you're planning to wait there

We got the best care and service at Parmenter! Our first trip to the area, and we got a flat tire late afternoon Friday. Julie and Gordon were fantastic, and our mechanic was superb! The team was amazing and remain a special part of our memorable trip!! Thank you!!!!

After several years of using another mechanic for my classic bronco, I decided to make a change. So glad I did and highly recommend these guys for any car repair. Julie and Gordon were super friendly and were genuinely concerned about my needs. Excellent communication throughout the process and the mechanics were top notch. Gordon and Julie behind the front desk are wonderful personalities and highly knowledgeable about what goes on with your vehicle. Took my car for an engine diagnostic, got the code cleared and verified and had the car inspected all within an hour and a half! Complimentary coffee in the waiting area and great conversation with both Gordon and Julie make staying and waiting for your vehicle as painless as possible! Will be taking all my vehicles back for repair in the foreseeable future!Services: Engine repair, Vehicle Inspection

I brought in my car to get it checked before a 2000+ mile roadtrip. It had recently received warranty service at a dealer. The mechanics at Parmenter discovered I was missing two lug nuts! That could have been disastrous. They also replaced worn rotors for a very reasonable price. They had me bring the car back the next day to make sure the new nuts were properly torqued--I've never had that level of thorough service before. All the work was done on time and professionally. It was a pleasure dealing with everyone there. Highly recommended.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I had a serious tire issue while up at Watkins Glen on track, and needed help in order to get home, 250 miles away! Everyone was so helpful, courteous and most concerned about my safety and satisfaction. If I lived closer they would be my "go to" tire and service shop! Very many thanks for the wonderful service & staff at Parmenter Tire. A few miles into the beginning of a 400 mile trip got a low pressure reading & stopped here. Was so glad that I did. They checked out my tire very quickly & fixed it so I could be on my way with minimal delay. Will definitely keep their number in mind when I am back this way.Service: Tires

We had a tire blow out on our travel trailer on our way to Watkins Glen. Parmenter Tires went above and beyond to help us replace all four tires. Within one day they had the tires brought over from their other store. The next day they put us at the beginning of their work day and replaced all the tires. They called us immediately when they were done and were cheerful, professional and service oriented. I would recommend them to anyone!Service: Tires

Absolutely horrendous. Take advantage of young kids and fail them on a inspection for something that I've never heard of I'm my entire life. Then the car is driven half of a mile to the driveway, next morning tire is completely flat. They call back and say of course we will fix it for a charge, knowing dam well they drove the car over a screw which made the tire flat. So for an easy inspection that should of cost $25. He ended up paying over $300. And now has to fix tire. Be very aware if your a young adult or a woman. They will definitely take your money with no disregard for you. I would never step for in that place ever again. Wonderful way for a local business to take advantage of its youth.

Was a far way from home vacationing in Watkins Glen when we discovered our truck was making sounds that we thought were the brakes. Not wanting to make the long trip home with bad brakes, we found Parmenter and asked if they would check and replace brakes. Turns out it wasn't the brakes, and they informed us of this, told us what the real problem was AND told us we'd be fine to make the trip back without attending to it right now. They were HONEST and so accommodating--they even drove us to a place to spend our time while they checked on truck and picked us up when they were done. If only more mechanics were this honest and pleasant...Highly recommend Parmenter Tire. Auto &Truck.

Excellent service, friendly staff. While camping at Watkins Glen, my vehicle needed unscheduled repair but required a heavy lift to complete the job due to its weight (14k). Tried multiple garages but no one could lift my truck. Arrived at Ron Parmenter with no appointment scheduled, and the staff was on it! They took my truck in, made the repair and had me on my way in less than 15 mins. Much appreciation to the folks at Ron Parmenter. Sam Williams, Ret USAF...

The staff was professional and worked with us to get our vehicle fixed quickly so we could continue our travels as we were only in town for a few days. They called before performing any maintenance and helped us identify all the issues that were concering. Got 4 tires put on, an alignment, and my AC fixed this summer. Requested to keep all 4 tires and rims for next summer and they only left me the rims. They had to fix some of the wiring within my ac but apparently never recharged it because within a month no more cold ac. Feel like I paid $1000 for about a $500 value. Would not be upset if I got to keep my used tires and AC still worked

They were quick to get me in and try to diagnose issues with my car. They missed the main issue though - cat was clogged, hence the O2 sensor went bad. Would have cost much more than expected if at let them do the repairs, especially at their higher than average repair prices. I suspect they have many repeat customers because the problems aren't always being diagnosed properly and fixed the first time.

6/19/21 we are on my sisters bachelorette party weekend and passerby s happened to notice we had a flat. We stopped into this shop and Julie and Destini were absolutely amazing!! These girls got us in so quick and patched up our tire without any hesitation! They were absolutely amazing!! Would definitely recommend to anyone!! I cannot more highly recommend Parmenter - Montour Falls. I took my Subaru Impreza to them after a terrible, two-month long experience with Maguire Subaru of Ithaca. They diagnosed and pinpointed the issue, which was a complex one, took corrective action, and communicated to me throughout the process. Their pricing was so reasonable and way, way better than the dealership - whom I expected to be experts on Subaru vehicles. Terry, the lead tech, took extra care on the Impreza and went way above and beyond the call of duty in doing what was right for the vehicle and charging reasonably. Their service team is exceptional - Julie and Gordon - and everyone was simply wonderful. Thank you, Parmenter! A++

My gf and I were on an anniversary road trip from Jersey City to Watkins Glen NY Syracuse. On the way from Syracuse to Watkins Glen we suffered a flat tire in our Mercedes GLE 350. We were able to have a doughnut Tire placed on by a local mechanic however the donut Tire could not last more than 70 miles luckily though we made it to Watkins Glen. The next morning I called around to multiple shops if they are open for a tire repair. One of the shops was Parmenter Tire and I was answered by a lady named Julie was very helpful on the phone and stated that her appointments were booked for the day and she could not see me on a such short notice. However Julie was helpful enough to redirect me to Finger Lakes Automotive just down the road from them and see if they would take me. I called Finger Lakes automotive and they said they will inspect my tire for free to which I want to them the next morning and they said that the damage was on the sidewall of the tire and this tire could not be fixed. This was a major Dilemma to me and my girlfriend as we were from out of state and could not make it back to New Jersey on a donut Tire. As we both are healthcare workers and we work in hospitals on Monday we were stuck pretty much. Because of this I went back to Parmenter Automotive just to see if they could help us in person if in case they had an opening. The gentleman behind the front desk I forget his name but he took the tire measurements down from my car which were an oddly large size 255, 50 / 19 which are apparently very rare to find and not as common especially when you're in a remote area such as Watkins Glen from major cities. However it does not stop Julie from helping us out. Julie informed us that she will call every tire shop in automotive repair shop in the area or in the county rather and she did while we were waiting there. One by one every automotive shop that Julie called did not have the tire that we were seeking and we were losing hope in terms of what to do. Luckily Julie checked with her own mechanic that was in the shop to see if they had one in their own stock and luckily there was only one tire that fit our car. Julie had the mechanic install the replacement Tire to our car just to get us back on the road safely. Surprising part was that even though all the other stores did not have it they did have one tire but they installed it within the next 5 to 10 minutes and the total cost of a replacement tire plus install and labor was only $86 which is impressive considering that we come from a place where a regular replacement tire would be no short than $300. We were very impressed with Julie's customer service and her kindness ability to help us out while while we were in a jam. If it weren't for this automotive repair shop I'm pretty sure that me and my girlfriend would still be stuck in Watkins Glen figuring out a way how to get back to our homes. Thank you to Julie and the other gentleman that was behind the counter at Parmenter Tire and Auto Truck service for getting us back on the road safely and we did make it back to our homes in New Jersey safely.For those of you who are looking for someone to help you out in a emergency give them a call I do highly recommend them. Even if they are booked for the day they'll still hell you out. If need be, go directly to them and speak to them. Ask for Julie.

We had our old jalopy truck serviced here right before Xmas ! I think they did a good job ; it s better than it was;It was a little bit more $$$ then we thought and they left the wrong keys inside for pickup but other than that it s ok!
