Worst mechanic shop on long island. Stay away. Lier s deceivers and try to steal money from you. They lied and tried to one up my 62 yr old mother in law and take over 150$ extra from her. I put a stop to that .Tried to sell her 2 used tires to help pass her inspection . Took her truck to STS TIRE and no problems on passing. Guy at STS said that guy knows nothing about ires these are fine..he just tried to scam her This place was supposed to do an oil change. Took it upon themselves to charger her 80 for synthetic oil change.. WHO PAYS 80$ for an oil change!?!?!? they were also supposed to fix her horn with a rewire for a button . Did not do so changed a fuse and charged her for the wiring and material. And fix her rear view mirror and used this industrial strength epoxy and glued the metal piece upside down and now they cant get it off and you cant mount the mirror . And they cant takenoff the metal piece now with out cracking the windshield. You try to speak to people there..no one speaks english or understands it.This shop is no good and I highly advise everyone to stay away from there. And its not sals anymore. They never updated the google maps info cause they know they would get 1 star reviews and horrible feed backSTAY AWAY!!! I felt bad sending my mother in law there I gave them a shot and they screwed up bad!

Sal has retired. It's no longer Sals auto repair. It's now G&C Auto repair. Pretty fair prices. Good people. Communication can be a problem but in the end we all ended up in the same page .

Sal is a great mechanic with more than fair reasonable prices. He has worked on several of my cars and always did a good job. Very honest, fair and caring.

I went to get my thermostat changed which is about 250$ and when sal attempted to change it he accidentally broke the motor bolt as he was changing the thermostat and refused to fix it. All he did was put temporary silicone on it (charged me 100 bucks for it) that would eventually wear away after a week, which it did on my way home and he told me I'd have to pay him 2,050.00$ to fix everything. So a 150$ job turns into 2,050.00. I cant even drive my anymore otherwise the engine will blow thanks to Sal. Not a good mechanic. I'm very disappointed. I bring my car with a broken thermostat and walk off with over 1,000$ worth of damage. Don't use this mechanic!!! Hes a crook. If a mechanic breaks something they should be responsible to fix it!

Sal is an asset to this community. Honest man, good mechanic. My grandfather took his Lumina and Cadillac here, my father takes his car, and I would not bring my Volvo anywhere else. Thanks for keeping us on the road.

It has been more than 8 years since my father in law told me about Sal's auto. Since then I had not other mechanic inspect my cars. He is a honest and truthful hard working mechanic.I will take my cars there as long as I own one.

Sal's was recommended to us by my brother in law who had work done there. We have been going there for years. Never paid for u necessary work (quotes at other places adding extra work or bogus needs)and always a job well done. They stand by the work they do.

Not your guyHad bad experience with another mechanic. Sal s is close, and busy, which is a good sign, so I gave him a try. Very soon I noticed: he like high pricing. Second thing I didn t like was when he talked bad to worker. Don t like such things. Then had the cooling system problem. Told him it can be the pressure cap, the filling container, radiator, leaking, water pump asked to check everything, and when done make sure the whole cooling system ok. The day after he finished, I paid (much), took it for a short drive, after few minutes there was a leaking. STRONG. From the pump. Which meant one thing: the guy didn't check the cooling system with hot engine. He then replaced the pump & belt (again, high price), and it s a year now and cooling is ok, only I never came back.Just don t trust the guy.Sorry

Very honest and knowledgeable guy. Whenever I have problem in my car, I take it to Sals. He is not a guy who will steal money. He does his job at much cheap price.

Had sal install a thermostat in my truck had a small leak asked him to check it told me my power steering was overful. Noticed I was leaking coolant big time main hose from the radiator was not clamped properly coolant was pouring out. I fixed the hose and clamp myself thought the problem was fixed. It continued to leak. After bringing the truck back to sal he told me I needed a new gasket to the timing chain and a new chain 400$ for gasket 600 for new gasket and chain. So I brought it to a different mechanic who told me my thermostat housing was leaking all I need was new housing a couple hoses and clamps 250$. So In short this guy sal doesn t have a clue doesn t check his work and guesses when diagnosing problems. If he installed the thermostat he should have been able to see the housing was leaking. Tried to sell me work my truck didn t need and still wouldn t have stopped the leak. 50$ a week in coolant plus 600$ for a job my truck didn t need. Yeah he s cheap and there is a reason why he doesn t fix the problem and you keep coming back. I don t trust this guy.

I have gone to sell over the past 8 years on and off between my two car dealers and him he is the most honest mechanic I have ever met I was told by two friends and a different mechanic that I needed an alternator replaced Sal wasn't too sure about that and my car is running now for 4 months with no issues because he changed a little clip and made everything much better

Dont bring your car here .. i brought my car to sal about 2 months ago my car was jerking alot when i drive it took it to him he told it was a motor mount he changed it n there was still a problem than he charge me for a loose hose i still had same problem than he said it was the transmission n send me somewhere else but he already took my money n send me to another place dont rrecomend him at all!
