I dropped off my '01 M3 at 8 o'clock on a Monday morning. I was slightly uneasy, it felt too simple. It was like "ok... Leave the key in the car and we'll call you." I must say I was very surprised to get a call around 2 o'clock the same day saying "it's fixed, come pick it up" I was like "what??!!!" Very surprised but, very satisfied. I definitely will be doing all my maintenance and repairs here. Thank you Richie and the team at BKM. Great service and wonderful work.

Was gifted my fathers 17 year old, 64k mile one-owner Mercedes which has a ton of sentimental value for me. It had some deferred maintenance to take care of. MB Manhattan quoted $7k in repairs - some necessary some not.Richie from BKM picked up the car and took it to the shop, they recommended more repairs than Mercedes did and did it for just above 1/2 the cost of the MBM estimate.10/10 experience - they will service this car for the next twenty years.

Customers of BKM for many years with our 1970 BMW yet unfortunately ended up spending an exorbitant amount of money without any sustained progress. A series of mismanaged repairs and paying multiple times for the same work they didn't get right the first time, just to get it to a sellable condition. They used the car to threaten and manipulate us into paying more than the amount originally quoted prior to picking up the car three hours away from our location.The latest repair was again of a faulty (used) transmission they had previously installed without us knowing it was refurbished until I went to pick up the car. The transmission failed multiple times so we brought the car back each time with the promise that they will place a new transmission in the car. We sent them a link to a dealer with a new transmission that was readily available, just like other parts we helped source. BKM had it in their garage for almost an entire year with very little response and no clear timeline despite our periodic inquiries on the status of when they would in fact fix the car. Threats were always their first response over the phone. The car, which they inspected, is now sitting in our driveway without the use of crucial electric components lights, windshield wipers, etc. and still a transmission that barely works.

Won this 1980 633 CSI at auction sight unseen. David looked over the whole car and said there was no major mechanical. A real honest guy! Had some small mechanical repairs, wiper pump, cluster lights, door locks all of which he had original parts for. Then added a very hard to find front spoiler painted to match perfectly, OEM fog lights and a pin stripe. Fair honest and reasonably priced work on a vintage classic. They love the car as much as I do. I cannot make a stronger recommendation. Thus is the place.

The management stinks its a mad house with constant swearing & begrading by the manager, very bad breath & b/o guy David talks rhetorically the smell emanating from the guy will have ya dizzy, baffled & disoriented so ask no questions & keep your distance, with such leadership I've watched a team of 4 screw in a lightbulb while bays full of cars await service, Adria Motors has much better professionalism go there instead, its a few blocks down. BKM stands for Basic Kookoo Mechanics because the team will follow suit to the idiot dictator... Furthermore the Jabroni responding is likely the guy that fake-stole my bolt catcher trey, guy didn't give it back until I said I was quiting & escalated the situation.. Ofcourse I kept asking questions, because wheres my stuff & why has it been moved & y is everyone playing dumb?? The disfunction is thru no fault of my own, u guys dont even know how to do coding & a client ive worked with came in for service was then turned away, to whereas I had to service it on the street for em once I quit. Whats the point of the shop, uz couldnt utilize a team if a race depended on it, meanwhile I do modifications u cant fathom as a specialist & excell in that realm, none of that talent was displayed, because of the sucky managment, I'll out tune & outrace anything uv personally built ask for me at Yonkers Racetrack, bring a can of window cleaner so I can show ya crew of pranksters what Mpower is about, ya bunch of parts changers, & tool warmers. Open Invitation bring a str8 6 u've tuned against that of my own 1,5,3,6,2,4 thats the firing order, a wiseman can play a fool but a fool cant play a wiseman.

I have been taking my car to BKM for a couple of years now. And I have always been happy with their service. The owner is upfront with the repair cost and asks first before doing anything. Prices are reasonable. Nice to have a reliable mechanic in the neighborhood.Update!This place use to be good. Now the service has changed a lot. 2019 Audi s4This review is long overdue.Intake Install, Exhaust install, Springs you name it.Even a full service and filter change!Gary and rest of team are easy to communicate with and very responsive with before and after pics while you are not there. Feels like you are being treated rightIf you have M, Audi Sport or Amg and are hesitant bring it to BKM. As the expression goes, fool me once, shame on you, fool me ten times, well, it's time for an honest and harsh review. If you have a BMW or Mercedes that needs repair or service, you can take your chances here. Unfortunately, they don't have the same knowledge of Audi, and I wish they'd been upfront about this from the very beginning. It likely would have saved me many trips and headaches:Bottom line: David cares about the cars that are brought here: but if you want to be treated as a customer as well as your car is treated, this is NOT the place for you. You will be lied to directly to your face.My most recent visit to this place, the week of this writing, will be my last (after many years of being a loyal and understanding customer; I felt David was a good man, and so I wanted to be loyal. That is my fault entirely).This time around I had taken my Audi Cabriolet in for front end noise about a month ago. They diagnosed it as upper control arms needing replacement. They replaced them. The issue was not resolved as the noise came back while I was driving home that evening. I called the next morning to tell them I would need to bring it back. They said sure, bring it back and we will test drive it. But I was not able to do so for about a month due to work and other obligations.I brough it back this week, test drove it with Rickie, and he heard the noise immediately. Fast forward, three days later, they needed to replace additional control arms. But at no point did they own up to the fact that they missed this several times during my repair visits. They would not give me a break on this "additional labor". They would not admit to not correcting the problem the first, or second or third time. If they had truly understood this car, they would have fixed it right the first time. So, I had been driving with broken components for many years, as each time I bring it in, they seem to find something new that should have been found the previous time. Case in point, I had asked David many times, why is there still a grinding noise when I turn the steering wheel? He said it was normal for the car, and also said the water pump is making that noise, but it's safe and normal. Today, after the repair, the grinding noise is miraculously gone.But the clincher tonight was realizing that Richie, the service manager, had "test driven" my car for 22 miles during this repair!! 22 miles in Long Island City. Richie has done this on two other occasions, where I have found an unusually high number of miles added to the car after a service. One time, David covered for him and said he had a family emergency up north. There were bridge tolls added to my account because of this drive (roughly 25 miles). He lied to my face to protect his manager, for whatever reasons. Tonight I asked him again.... Why do you need to drive my car for 22 miles around Long Island City to test drive a repair? He said he had to test drive it 4 different times to check the problem. He said he test drove it for over an hour because he was in traffic. This is the type of person that David chooses to employ and represent his company. Someone who enjoys taking other people's cars for joyrides under the guise of a "road test".This is a long and heartfelt post because I, again, foolishly, continued to put my trust in this business. But they don't value honesty and integrity. I don't have any other agenda in saying this. I am taking my car and business elsewhere. They certainly don't need my business. Never have. All I have ever expected from this place was to be level and upfront with me, and they are not able to do that. They don't know the car, and everything seems to be an experiment. I would have preferred years ago if they said, we don't know Audis as well, but we will give it a try. I would have made an informed decision at that time. So, if you value integrity and honesty, I urge you to consider taking your business elsewhere. You deserve better.Service: Steering & suspension repair

I've been bringing my car here for a decade. Prices are always reasonable and usually a fraction of what the dealership (who would prefer you just buy a new car) would ask. The work is done well. I couldn't imagine bringing my BMW anywhere else in NYC.

Legitimately one of the best BMW shops in the city. Brought our convertible in to fix the top after calling every shop in town. No one else would touch it. Not only did the agree to give it a shot, they fixed it at a fantastic price and it s worked great since.They clearly care a lot about the work, and have become our go-to for everything from tire replacements to inspections. Highly recommend.

I have been taking my Mercedes to BKM for about 4-5 years. No matter who helps you, you feel like a VIP ... from the servicemen to the owner! You can trust them to do an excellent job for a fair price. Ask for David, Richy or Riad. As a single woman, I am always treated with respect. I will recommend this shop to everyone. I had a major electrical wiring issue with my mini and the shop figured it out fast and had it fixed much quicker than I expected. Everyone that I ve had to speak with has been very helpful and courteous. They even came to my house to help me get my car into neutral and out of the garage to have it towed. The entire experience has been great and my car now starts and runs better than it has since I bought it!

The work from the BKM Auto team is impeccable. Their customer service and pricing is also out of this world. My Audi was pretty damaged (dents, deep scrapes, etc) while it was parked on a side street in NYC. In less than a week, they completely repaired my car (other garages had told me it would take 2-4 weeks to fix). Even better is the car looks like it did the day I bought it! please note, ive gone in the past for an oil change and appreciated the service. because of that i wanted to bring my car to them again for a check-up because i needed to get it fixed before a cross-country road trip.please keep in mind this all happened in august/september of 2022, i have completed my cross-country trip and have settled in southern california.ill try to keep this short, but after taking it in for the check-up, i ended up having to spend around $2500. a couple days later, the sensor for my oil was going off so had to get that fixed (not a problem). a week or so later, i get a notification about a parking ticket. after checking the date and time, it was when my car was at bkm. also during this time, my A/C wouldnt work unless it was on its highest level. so i take it in to get fixed, i bring up the parking ticket but they claim ignorance and say they cant do anything about it. i show them the ticket and its cross-streets and they know its an area they park cars..just felt pretty helpless and they didnt have any desire to help me. i end up getting the a/c fixed and go about my way. a week later, the a/c is back to it only working on its highest level. after that i was so frustrated and didnt even want to deal with them again. just very unfortunate.obviously they won't care, im not in NY anymore but still wanted to let people know my experience and to do more research before taking your car in. obviously they have great reviews, it was just unfortunate i was not able to experience that great service. i wouldnt trust these guys. just feel like i got dooped out of a good amount of money. :(Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, A/C installation & repair

It's not often I feel as though an institution deserves such a low rating but unfortunately this business earned this review. When 4 ignition coils and 4 spark plugs were paid to be changed, they only did 2 out of the 4 as verified by a 3rd party mechanic without any prior knowledge that any work had been completed.Over $600 was spent on the work (and parts) which led to my car breaking down a second time only ~6 months after the work BKM completed for the exact same reason, failed ignition coils. The only reason they received 3 stars instead of 1 is because at least they tried and put on a friendly face when doing so, everyone deserves at least something for effort and a smile. I don't live in the area anymore anyway, but unfortunately not a garage I'd trust in the future if the need were to arise.Service: Engine repair

I took my VW here to figure out why it wasn't starting. I told the mechanic to check the turbo and he told me "I checked it and it was fine, you need to change your engine." This was after they made me spend $1,500 in new parts for the engine. I bought a engine from a junk yard for $2,700, got it swapped in, car still didn't want to start. I towed the car to a different shop. This new mechanic checks it and tells me my turbo is no good. I swapped the turbo and my car started. I spent a total of $4,200 because of the mechanics at BKM just to find out that all I needed was a new turbo for $800. I can't even return the engine because the junk yard has a no return policy. I'm out thousands of dollars thanks to these so called mechanics. Richie was the only cool person there. Also, they put a dent in my driver door and David (the owner) didn't want to own up to it. Thank god I took a picture of the car the day I dropped it off or else I would've had to pay for the dent removal myself. They ended up paying for it AFTER I showed them the picture.Service: Engine repair

I actually got referred here from Bimmer Motor Group down the block. Brought in my Z4 in April 2021 with a non-functioning top and, within a few days, had it back with a working roof for a price that easily beat the dealership's. They kept me updated every step of the way, and even had it washed before I picked it up. David has been servicing our cars for the past 30 years. He is an excellent mechanic and the most honest man we ever met. our 2008 Audi 3.2 engine died on a Sunday on 52 St and 8th ave. I texted David that the car was being towed to his garage. David was waiting for the car when it arrived. David and his mechanics always gave us excellent service. He is one of the top 5 certificated BMW mechanics. I highly recommend David and his staff and would not let anybody else touch our Audi.

There are a few words that come to mind when I hear BKM Auto. Trustworthy, fair, and professional. Work is done properly and on time. I love my car and they treat it with the same amount of love. I dont have to worry about being overcharged or scammed when I bring my car here. Staff are friendly and reliable, if I have a question I always feel welcome and comfortable calling (even if its the 5th time in the same day).

David and Enrique are great, on site owner who always has grease on his hands, he gets down and that's what I love to see. The shop is always full, it's a testament to the quality of work they produce. The shop rates are reasonable, definitely a value compared to being raped by a dealership. They have the same equipment and the better mechanics. I've been going to Enrique (the shop manager) for almost 10 years now, enough said.Remember to leave a tip for the guys, they will always look out for you.Laguna Seca M3 Conv

This shop is like an extended family. They explain everything to you and give you price breakdowns. They take care of cars like nurses in a maternity ward. Super professional! I love theses guys and gal!
