Ralph charged me twice for the same job, for 3 months, he couldn't find the leak in my power steering, finally the leak stopped, after changing the power steering pump, he charged me twice, $1200. Even though the leak stopped,now it's making a winding noise, now i have to have it fixed again by a different mechanic. I have 2 bills for changing the same pump.

This mechanic shop is fantastic. Ralph is very informative about the repairs being done. Great pricing and honest service is very hard to find and I m thankful for being referred here . I had some minor suspension work done on my car which resulted in me feeling way more safe driving. My tires and rims were replaced through recommendations from the shop and my car is very smooth and well working now. If you want honest service, go here! Exceptional and Honest Service! Thank you Ralph! I was heading to my daughter wedding upstate on 08/15/2020 and my car started smoking and liquid was all over the engine. We had the car towed to Family Automotive in Leeds, NY on the advised of Gallagher s towing. The service provided by Ralph V. was exceptionally. He checked my car thoroughly, cleaned all the fluids, check the level, ran it for hours and test drive it and did not find any problem. He advised that the problem did not occur and is probably excess fluids that released due to pressure build up. Now, it is time for the bill, we were expecting a huge bill and he said $70.20. I could not believe it. He is an extremely honest guy; he could have overcharged us since we were two hours from home but he didn t. We were able to drive the car home, with no incident. We were about 4 miles away from Leeds on 23 when our alternator seized, the fan belt ground itself off, all kinds of warning lights and sounds were flashing and Family Automotive was the closest place open. What good luck for us! We just made it to the shop, it was 1pm on a Saturday and Ralph ever so kindly squeezed us onto his schedule for that day, replaced the alternator and the fan belt and had us back on the road home by 5:30pm. Our regular mechanic would never have done that job so quickly! Even better, we still got to do what we came to do in the area because right next to the shop is a U-haul rental place so if you need a vehicle in a pinch you can pick up a U-haul for the day. This place felt like a magical center of good fortune. But it is really just a family-run business with great service.

Honest work for a fair price. This place has done an amazing job with my cars. I am so glad I went here on a recommendation. I would also recommend them to friends and family. Also, cool bonus, they sent us a Holiday card last year. Hand written too. ;) That is some seriously personal service.

Ralph is one of the most honest dependable people on Earth. If you look up the definition of integrity in the dictionary his picture would be right next to it.Will not go to anyone else other than him.

Always on point. Great people to do business with. Warranty on parts is sweet. Make sure you buy the parts off them, if you bring your own warranty is not going to happen. It's hard to warranty something especially an eBay part. Dealing with the local community and business they can do that. Trustworthy, reliable, and won't take you to the cleaners. Highly recommended!!

Fantastic quality and customer service- far and beyond. These guys got me out of quite a pickle while traveling, and they handled it in no time at all. Thank you, Family Automotive. Would recommend without any doubt!Honestly my girlfriend wrote that because I couldn t explain how much they helped me when I was on the road. I was two hours from where I was from and three hours from where I was going and I stopped because I heard a noise that ended up being my wheel about to fall off due to stressed lugs that broke on the highway.

Been going there for a few years now, after the Lupolis/Father & Son semi-retired. Ralph and team, carry on the tradition of this location with fair, honest and repairs done the safest and least painful way possible. You never have to worry that you will be sold unnecessary repairs, or ripped off on price. Go here with no fear!

Been going there fir a while now. Always explains, fair pricing and does work the situation calls for the best way for your situation. A car repair podcast I listen to says ' Good mechanics aren't expensive, they're priceless'

I brought my van in for a basic inspection and windshield wipers. The next day I noticed a leak under my car. I found a leak in my radiator line directly through one side and out of the other. when I called "Family Automotive" they said they noticed a small leak but forgot to mention it. It's preculture that all of a sudden the hose sprung a leak on both sides, exactly in line. Never go to this place they will mess with your car just create more business. one star is too high and I have already reported them to the BBB.

I trust Ralph to give me a fair deal. I travel 45 minutes to get his services. Fair price and he goes out of the way for satisfaction. Would recommend.

Honest. Fair. Considerate. I drive 45 minutes to Leeds after hearing similar experiences my many sisters and father.In my experience, such attributes may often be difficult to come by, but the family has been raving about it, so when I had the chance to see for myself, off I went.I should point out, as I am a small business consultant in technology with a wee bit of a critical eye, I know that fundamentally auto mechanics are one of those industries that bears similarities to the booming technology market: insofar as everyone is an *expert" but at the end of the day consumers have to trust whom they do business with, since it can be so easy to say half truths or use tactics to "pad" the invoice.So, with that in mind, off u sent. With this situation I had called Ralph (owner) and explained my issue. Right off the bat, the fact that he 5oom the time to listen instead of the usual. "whatta ya need, I dunno come down" .After I made it down there, Ralph greeted me at the door and immediately came out to take a look.My issue was small, but I counted three areas where he could have easily overcharged me or just said sure to what I wanted to do.Instead he gave me the options, the costs, and his opinion.I don't write reviews usually. But then again, once you find a good mechanic...Kudos to Ralph and Family Automotive (formerly Father and Son's)!we'd

Off of recommendation to send my car to him I had it towed over to his shop. He got it in quickly to diagnose what is wrong with my car and told my best options if any given the grave mechanic situation my car was in. Very nice and professional the entire time. And HONEST.
