We stayed here 3 nights for the 2024 eclipse, it was really affordable, and met my expectations for a motel. The room was outdated with peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, wobbly chairs, and an AC that needed a new filter (the indicator light was lit), but none of these were a huge deal since the room was clean and we were only in the motel to sleep / eat.The included breakfast options were sparse, but also not a big deal since we brought non perishables and there were a few microwaves available in public areas. I booked through Travelocity and it didn't say there was an in-room mini fridge, so I brought a portable one to keep drinks cold and was pleasantly surprised when I saw the in room unit. There was plenty of parking and the lot was fairly decently plowed after the snowstorm that had hit a couple days prior. The walkway to the lobby for check-in was properly salted as well. The only issue I had was at check-in, when the desk clerk handed me the wrong invoice to verify my rates, but that was resolved and I was properly billed. The location was REALLY convenient, near the edge of Lake Placid. It was only a few mins drive into town for Starbucks / McDonald's / fuel; a 40 ish min drive to Lake Tupper (we went to The W!ld Center); and a few mins away from the Olympic Jumping Complex and Mt Van Hoevenburg.I would definitely consider staying here again for future Lake Placid visits!Rooms: The room was outdated with peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, wobbly chairs, and an AC that needed a new filter (the indicator light was lit), but none of these were a huge deal since the room was clean and we were only in the motel to sleep / eat.Nearby activities: The location was REALLY convenient, near the edge of Lake Placid. Great service, the clerk at the front desk really helped to improve our stay. The room are ok, clean, the common areas are less than ok.We enjoyed the hot pool, that was fun to finish the vacation like this.To summarize, it was cheaper than most hotels there and we liked it without any wows Nearby activities: 3'minutes to downtown

Came during a winter storm. There was absolutely no where to park. The woman at the front desk told us to park at the cottage s, which are not located on the premises and then walk back to the hotel. She then told us, I don t know, you could park on the road. Never known a hotel, where you pay for your room only to park somewhere else and then walk back to your hotel. Got to the room only to be overwhelmed by the smell. Shower curtain has mold on it. Spend a little more money and stay closer to town. Would rather have slept in my car. If you do stay here bring your own towels and blankets.Noteworthy details: You d rather sleep in a trash can.

Dear Hotel Management,I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service at your hotel. I had anticipated a comfortable stay, but the actual experience left me thoroughly frustrated.Firstly, the cleanliness of the room was unacceptable. The room was filthy, and the housekeeping staff appeared unprofessional, resembling illegal immigrants. Furthermore, their lack of proficiency in English made communication exceptionally challenging.Your manager exhibited arrogance and refused to consider any suggestions, displaying a complete lack of reason. I am deeply suspicious of her behavior, as it seems indicative of a possible mental health issue, akin to paranoid delusional disorder. The condition of the swimming pool is also a cause for concern. The water quality is poor, and the pool is visibly unclean, making it unfit for use. This falls far below the standards expected for a hotel swimming pool. Most infuriating was the room service. It was slow, inefficient, and the staff went so far as to fabricate lies, attempting to shift blame onto the guests. This is entirely unacceptable.I trust that you will address these issues promptly to maintain the reputation of your establishment. I look forward to a timely resolution and improvement in your services.

Came to check in and the very rude woman, if you can even call j r that, at the front desk told us we had no reservation and there was no room for us. Didn't even try to make things right basically just ignored us. After two hours miraculously some more competent employees found a room for us. Room was dirty and past due for some updating. Lock on the bathroom door didn't work, nice. I can look past the shoddy hotel room, I just want a room when I go someplace hours from home. No one wants to be told they don't have a room when they're miles from home with no where else to sleep...

The reason for the one star review is because while I stayed there in December, my car was damaged by falling ice off of their roof. I was parked in a painted parking space and no notice was given of the hazardous condition. On the opposite side of the hotel there is a warning, not on the side I parked nor was the area taped off for this condition. Thank God it was my car and not my head. Now the hotel is saying this wasnt their fault. Go figure. This hotel is typical of the area, the room was ok, clean, the TV was very small. hot tub was refreshing. Breakfast wasnt good. Staff was nice. Wasnt really in walking distance to the Olympic Village

Beautifully set on the outskirts of Lake Placid's main drag, the location is perfect. However, as one of, if not the cheapest place to stay in town. You get what you pay for! The hotel itself is very outdated, I feel like I'm visiting for the 1980 Olympics. That's not a complaint, just an observation, I actually think that's pretty cool, like a living time capsule.Unfortunately, some issues I did have were my room TV not working, the AC being so loud that it woke me up at night (I ended up turning it off), the shower was difficult to control (ice cold to scalding DAMN QUICK!), and the pool area key swipe was very finicky, not broken, but finicky. On the plus side, the pool was warm, and the hot tub was very hot! Which was great after a day of hiking. In the morning, there's a light breakfast, nothing amazing, but it's food. The fresh made pancakes were good though.

Rooms are outdated but clean. Best price in the area if all you want is a place to sleep.Nearby activities: Quick drive to the city center where all the restaurants are located.

Pros. Very close to almost everything you can drive or bike imo.Cons. Beds were very uncomfortable. We both woke up with back pain from the beds. Breakfast was good, but milk tasted bad like it was expired even though it has not passed its date. There are very few outlets in the room. All exterior doors have keyed entery, but none work.If you are handicap you will have to do stairs to get to breakfast as there is no elevator.

Just outside of all the tourist traffic but close enough to walk or a very short drive. Rooms are basic and clean, staff are friendly enough. Pool and hot tub area are perfect for family. Has a refrigerator in the room but could have used a small microwave. Would definitely stay here again.Nearby activities: Short drive to center of town. Pleanty of stores and resteraunts. Olympic museum and ice skating oval is about a mile away, whiteface mountain a short drive for the skiiers.

We stayed here for a weekend and I have to admit when we pulled up I was thinking omg what did I get myself into?!? The outside looks really run down and dated, they def need to consider a renovation. All the employees were really nice and accommodating. I had to leave every morning at 6:15am and they already had honey buns, coffee cakes, oatmeal, and some other options out for breakfast at that time. The indoor pool and hot tub were a plus but something was wrong with the doors and half the time we went we couldn t get in unless there was someone already inside to open the door. On Friday night we went at 9pm and couldn t get in, called the front desk a bunch of times and no one answered and I wasn t walking outside in a bathing suit when it was 25 degrees outside. The hotel is away from main st but being that I ve been here enough to learn the area we went to the grocery store before checking into the hotel. I wish they would put microwaves in all the rooms bc it was cold to be walking back and forth to the office. The beds in our room were really comfortable and room service replaced our towels daily. The price was very reasonable for the area $115/night but still way above what they should be charging.

Honestly we love this place. Good location, great price, and the staff is very accommodating. Pretty standard rooms, but clean and nice. We love the pool, the water has been clean the times we have been there and they have a small 2 foot section which is perfect for a toddler. Only thing I will say is some of the rooms downstairs have hard beds, but the women at the front desk was very nice and moved us to a room on the second floor. Those beds were good.

This is the worst inn I have ever been to around the world. The room service is slow and lazy, they don't care what you need and they easily get mad at you if uou ask them to clean up the room and they may kick you out. The office woman is the rudest human I have ever met. So cruel and so evil and so unbelievable. She broke her leg or something, so she's like the poorest person and she has enough reason to curse others. She doesn't care what you think or feel. She's upset and she kicks you out of the inn immediately. She does not deserve any kindness. We're so happy we don't have to stay and see her face any more. This is the worst inn. Don't come here.1, The walls are so thin that you can hear others talking, watching TV, taking a shower.2, The room is dirty. There's bad smell and dirt in the carpet. If you're allergic to something, it might hurt your health as soon as you get into the room.3, The service is terrible and horrible here. A lot of workers here don't speak English. They are rude and wild.

There are better hotels for the same price or less. The only reason I gave it so many stars was because of the indoor pool and hot tub. The overall hotel is dated, could use some paint and new carpeting. Room was clean and tidy. HOWEVER, the shower experience was awful. Without touching the faucet it would go from ice cold to scalding hot. Not for a second either, like your neighbor flushed their toilet. Minutes of ice cold to minutes of scalding hot. Adjusting the knob had no effect. Their grab and go breakfast was well below the norm, and for the ridiculous price you pay, you should have more options. Our choice was an apple or instant oatmeal. Hot coffee and hot water (for oatmeal or tea). When I asked about a drink for my son, I was informed there were vending machines. Had to go into town to feed my son and I. Who wants oatmeal on a hot August morning?

One of the best spot to stay for the Ironman.Walking distance from town and the ski Olympic center.Cleaners were friendly. Front desk staff wasn't accommodating.Rooms are clean. We got small electrical shock by a wire in the room. Hopefully the first thing they fix is their electrical.Great place to stay.

They got a very good photographer because the place was not as shiny and new as the pictures on their website (photoshop??). The rug next to the window where you can view the pool area smelled like pee. The lock on the sliding glass door didn't work so you're forced to use the bar to secure it. The carpet is thread bare and REALLY needs replacing. The towels smelled like they're cutting corners and although clean looking they just didn't smell fresh. Our particular room had several spots where they've patched the walls but not repainted the room (certainly not what the pics look like on their page.) My friends and I found another room somewhere else and decided to leave a day early. When checking out the man behind the counter was very truculent with me about leaving a day early emphasizing that I'd booked 2 days and that was the agreement. I expressed my concerns and was told I should have made my complaints the night before and they'd have given us a different room. Giving us a different room is not going to change the pee smell in the hallway or the less than fresh towels...and why didn't you give us a good room to start with? He was laying the ground work for not refunding me the day I didn't stay but I wasn't sleeping there another night one way or the other. Sometimes you get what you pay for but in this case (in my opinion) you're getting less.

Staff and location are great, everything else pretty outdated and run down. I got the room with 'disability access and washer/dryer' as I'm in a wheelchair, it would be a stretch to say this was accessible as the entrance to the building is a step ramp with no landing and a heavy glass door. Also there was no washer or dryer in my room but they were downstairs where I can't go. Thankfully I had help but there is no way it is accessible alone. Also the need made sleeping in my car look like a better option. Look elsewhere if you use a wheelchair.

This place is absolutely disgusting. So dirty. I planned a two day one night trip to the Adirondacks, only planning to sleep, not spend time at a hotel. Since this was the only place available I thought it would be fine. There s blood on the pillow. In the bathroom there s blood on the floor and all over the shower curtain. Very visible. This place is disgusting. Don t stay here!!!

Don't come here. It's horrible.1, The room smells terrible and room service is slow. The staff here don't speak English and get mad at you if you ask them to do room service.2, The walls are as thin as paper. You can easily hear others opening the door, talking, watching TV and taking a shower.3, The breakfast is cheap and almost like nothing healthy to eat. All sugar. Dont take too much. There are eyes on your hands and mouths.4, The general manager named Shannon Scannell may scream and yell at you in front of your children no matter how old they are. She's good at defamation and slandering you and telling a lot of lies. She will kick you out on a holiday if you dare to speak to her in a loud voice.5, The water smells weird and the pool is dirty.

I refuse to believe the good reviews are real. I would expect a place like this to be $40 a night, not $170 Canadian. The room smelled horrible, there were stains on the walls, floors, ceiling, gross carpet. The "breakfast" was a vat of bad coffee and some oatmeal packets you could make in the microwave (worth about 30 cents a piece). I've stayed in motels before and this is the worst ever.

Very nice staff. We asked for a different room away from steps ND they moved us with no issues. Good location. Clean but very run down. Hair dryer fell off the wall when I went to use it, toilet kept running. Shower was not the best - had to operate but it was hot and good pressure. Didn't eat the breakfast or use the pool so I can't comment on that. I guess being your right outside of Lake Placid and te other hotels are $250- night...
