Omg this had to have been the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous, the bathroom is unbelievable, the shower is so luxurious and truly and amazing shower experience, the beds were comfortable and soft. The hotel its self is very quiet which is nice and there a little seating area in the lobby that had a beautiful fire place, the pool is beautiful and warm and if your not in to swimming they had a wonderful hot tub, they had there own little restaurant that had delicious food, and a door that you could leave from and it opens right to the town and there beautiful shops and food and wonderful views of the mountains, it s is truly and amazing experience, definitely recommend.

We got reservations to stay here last minute for the eclipse. This place is FANTASTIC! Welcomed us with champagne and a nice fire. Such friendly staff, beautiful rooms and view of the lake. Will definitely be back.

Really convenient stay at Lake Placid with superb service. We were in the city for an event, and needed a place for my partner to be able to work in while still walking distance to the olympic center. We ended up getting a Lake House room to stay in, and it was spacious, with a nice porch looking out onto Mirror Lake, and super walkable to the rest of the city. There was plenty of space in the room for my partner to work in, though the table was rather high for the chair that they had available.Service was also great and fast every time we needed something! Their key card system was down when we first checked in, so we had to get an emergency key to then exchange the day after. When it wasn t ready still, they apologized and came to deliver the keys to the room when they were. The only complaint I have is that the rooms weren t the most soundproof from the hallway. We could near another family s entire conversation from the room.Nonetheless, I d stay there again for sure.Rooms: Spacious and felt cozy. The furniture wasn t modern but they definitely did not feel old.Nearby activities: You can explore everything the city had to offer by foot, from restaurants, the olympic center, and dog sledding right beside the hotel.Walkability: Very short walk to the rest of the main street in Lake Placid.

I really wanted to stay here since I stayed at the Lake House across the street with my dog a while back and had such a great time! This time however we were booked at the main building. PRO TIP: Book through the website directly for the best possible price. The hotel is conveniently located right in town so its easy to get around. Overall had a great time EXCEPT wish I was informed of the $50/night dog surcharge ahead of time and not have to switch rooms during my stay. Additionally, dog owners are informed that they must not leave their pet in the room unaccompanied at any time (an unreasonable ask when its in the 10's and 20's outside).Would not recommend if you're traveling with a dog as the pet requirements/charges are unreasonable.Lastly, if you refuse maid service you're supposed to get a $10 credit per day for each day. When I asked about this at checkout they said I had to let them know at check in and there was nothing they could do. Not a big deal, just lousy interaction from a customer service standpoint.

Beautiful Resort with very comfortable accommodations. We go every year in November and have stayed at this location before. Its one of our favorites. This year I feel like the rooms have been updated. The furnishings seemed high end and nothing was worn. The indoor pool is beautiful and the hot tub is great. A quick walk down a flight of stairs and your on the main road in town. Great location!

Such a great value - you are right in town, the rooms are nice - we had a balcony facing the lake....the staff is friendly and you get champagne at checkin! They have a nice gym there that you can use, restaurant on site, covered parking for guests and a pool area. They also let you use their snowshoes. Looking forward to going back in the summer. Usually there in the winter.Walkability: You are right in town!

I can't say enough about this hotel - the room was immaculate, the food outstanding and the service by all hotel staff epic. I will definitely stay here again when in the area. I loved the personal touches: complimentary coffee and tea in the morning, cookies and hot chocolate in the afternoon; yoga for guests on Saturdays and a glass of champagne at check in.

Be careful booking this hotel as their policy has complete disregard for health of its workers and clients. I called 2 days prior that my kids got covid and flu and wanted to re book for 2 weeks out. Their fee was one night plus taxes and fees (498$). I find that disgusting and at that rate Id rather give my business elsewhere. They would prefer me to bring covid and flu to their property and jeopardize everyone elses health. Disgusting ! all about money!Rooms: disappointed with outcome of this trip.

High Peaks resort.. What can t I say ..Second stay at this wonderful place .. Just loved it here the last time. Summertime , wintertime, somehow they always manage to go above and beyond. Check in was fast and seamless. The lady at the front desk recognized us immediately and made sure to show it which goes a long way this day in age. I asked millions of questions she gave millions of answers with a smile. Nice to know this still exists. Rooms are tidy and ours had a balcony. Self regulating wall a/c heater my fave. Room warm or cool in a minute. Beds are ,well ,as my four year olds say superrr cozy with tons of pillows. 2 kinds of body soaps shampoo and (conditioner) nice touch- yeah. Red Lavazza coffee pods -if youre anything like me good coffee in room is a must and needs to be plentiful. Keep em coming lol. Housekeeping is sweet and +++ effecient. Needed a microwave they delivered one in minutes. The restaurant food is delicious!!! And im a connaisseure. Also ,im demanding when it comes to filling my belly and lets face it ,four year olds are even worse. I had the crab cakes benedict two times now and it was all I could think about for the last month I had to have them again. Kids had the two farmhouse eggs (looked more like 4) with all the accoutrements, and flapjacks boring for me but hey- they were really good!. The room service (waitress) brought whipped butter,,,jams and ketchup and syrup all in those little glass jars. We ALL love those dont we!? During our summer stay the room service (waiter) was knowledgeable ,polite and professional. He also makes a killer white sangria poolside which is also LAKESIDE ;)Pools, hot tubs, stocked vending machines everything my kids needed to make their stay super great mommy . Your kids want some hot chocolate and cookies yup they got you self-serve in the lobby (all day). I could go on and on..They ask that generic question is there anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable and I actually felt they meant it. Front desk lady gave my son a pumpkin straight off her desk since he had showed so much interest , and another lady walked outside to my car to say goodbye to my kids. I was like yeap, this is the kind of place that becomes a tradition. Been coming to Lake Placid for years now, obviously I m really glad to have discovered this little jem.I know I will be returning here forever <3.Walkability: Birds eye view of the few stores they have in their tiny village. Ben and Jerry s ice cream is a couple doors away if you need icecream like me haha. Christmas lights are up and shine bright at night making you feel in the spirit. Perfect location to relax and stare at the lake and mountaintops. Mornings are so peaceful and beautiful.

Love the location. The rooms are nicely appointed with quality furniture. The maids left our room beautiful after turn down and were kind enough to leave us little diaper baggies when they saw we had a baby. Our Waterfront unit didn t quite have a water view as advertised but Mirror Lake is right out the door so you can t really complain.Bummer that during a week of sunny 80-degree weather the kayaks outside our door weren t available for use. Seems to be a hard seasonal cutoff for water sports here although we could rent boats down the street. Also our room had some minor maintenance issues that were occasionally a nuisance and the doors in our building all slam with a big bang. But you can t beat the location and the rooms are nice, and the staff do a great job of taking care of this beautiful place including keeping beautiful flowers growing everywhere!

So far, we are very happy with this place. When we checked in, they were able to move us to a higher floor, which gave us a great view of the lake. The location is perfect. There's so much within a short walk or drive. Everyone we've talked to at the front desk has been very friendly. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone coming to the area.

Booked this site unseen, but it was billed as a 4 star hotel, and the main building had that feel. The staff was friendly & responsive. But, we stayed at the Lakehouse building, which was mostly clean but I would say fairly spartan and rate it a 2 star accommodation. Just a concrete & metal building with a small bathroom, that had a caddy corner toilet & toilet tissue holder mounted to the back of the door. There was no vent in the bathroom, so we really couldn't use the mirrors after a shower. The outlets by the bed didnt work. The bathroom by the pool was downright dirty. Still, I could handle all that, since its a great location, but not at all worth $1,130 for a 2 night stay. I got taken. It's a shame.

I took the lake view on the lake itself. the view is really amazing!!!the room is big and comfortthe only problem that decrease to 4 stars is because the WiFithis is the wrost wifi i have ever had in hotel. room 726.the coffee machine isn't working well I hope they will fix itI'm recommend this hotel

Overall it was a good stay. The town + resort was very sleepy when we visited at the end of April. We didn't know about 'mud season' before our visit. We noticed champagne was being offered upon arrival for guests checking in however none was offered to us the previous night. The rooms had a good use of space and the mini fridge was nice to have available however it did not get cold. There were previous items left in our room from the guests prior which should have not been overlooked. The beds were comfortable and they provided a crib for our baby. We ordered from the Dancing Bear restaurant and were told to pick it up, no room service available. The nachos were overcooked and had an abundance of chips to toppings ratio. The hotel was located on the corner of main street which was convenient. The parking garage was also a nice addition and easy to use with your hotel room key. The decor was beautiful and we enjoyed the fireplace and main lobby area. One thing to mention, it was noticeable how much you could hear guests in attached rooms.

EDIT: our instincts were correct! We were able to return to High Peaks resort and had a wonderful time. Beautiful view, happy dog, great service at front desk and at the Dancing Bear. Really enjoyed the evening bonfire at the Lake House. We will definitely be back.We just got back from our stay in BEAUTIFUL Lake Placid & after staying 3 nights at High Peaks we can say it was..not great.Positives: Perfect location on main st and close to Mirror LakeNegatives: I was looking forward to bringing our senior rescue dog on her 1st road trip & everything we read on their website sounded perfect. When we arrived, we did not get the scarf for our girl or treat. It also took two calls to the front desk & 24 hours to get bowls/a bed for our room so we had to bring in stairs from the car (& accidentally left them there :(. For $50 dollars a night they can do better. Also no explanation as to where we can take her out to relieve herself. Finally, we paid for a deluxe King room w/ a view which we did not get. We called down but they had already occupied the other King rooms (which was odd as there were still King rooms on Expedia). They offered to move us to two queens facing the mountains or to another building, but we paid for a King.I understand because we booked with Expedia we got a great deal but High Peaks shouldn t be offering deluxe rooms with a view of mountains or lake that they don t have. & they shouldn t be charging for those rooms. When I checked out I asked to speak to a manager to have our bill adjusted. Because it was the long weekend there was no one there. I asked for a card w/ email, I got person-in-sales card instead. We were so sad in our stay there.Bottom line: great location, good price on Expedia, but not the greatest treatment for either us, or our beloved senior girl. We ll definitely be back to beautiful Lake Placid though!

Stayed here for 2 nights for a conference. The staff were so friendly and the hotel was unbelievably accommodating. Many of us arrived early in the day as the conference started at noon, and most (if not all) rooms were available to check into despite it being so early. The rooms were spacious and the whole hotel was decorated in Adirondack style. Conference meals were delicious and the bar stayed open late especially for our group. Would definitely recommend!

UPDATE 9/29/2023We decided to give high peaks resort another try and had a much better experience. We stayed in the main resort building this time and it is much nicer and more updated. I did not catch the woman s name who checked us in but she was very nice and had everything ready for us and our dog for our stay and offered us champagne this time.2/3/2023: Honestly really disappointed in our experience. I read all the good reviews and chose this hotel because of those reviews and because of how pet friendly it was but it was not even remotely worth the price. We were not offered the complimentary champagne at check in that was mentioned on their website or in other reviews, we were not offered any of the pet amenities including a bandana and a mat or bowls to use that are all listed on their website. We stayed in the lake house building and our room had a very strong, off putting scent in it and was really nothing special other than a decent view (although the pictures of the views really make it look much nicer than it is in person). The hotel was overrun by young kids and teens who were apparently part of a hockey tournament who ran screaming through the halls at 11pm at night, some of which who were extremely underage and yet were yelling about being drunk. I know the hotel can t control who stays there but this experience was anything but what we were expecting especially considering the description of luxury resort on the website and and price of $750 for a two night stay. The only plus was the location of the hotel and the fact that you can walk easily into town.

Very nice hotel. It has 3 separate buildings. The main building is the "resort" portion and is also used for conferences. The other two are across the street and are mostly just rooms. We choose the waterfront building even though Mirror Lake was still pretty chilly. Our room was a good size, and the king size bed was very comfortable. The furnishings are starting to show their age. The Lavazza coffee pot had no information on usage. I had to look it up online, just to figure out if the pods were regular or decaf. We choose to have my wife's birthday dinner in their "Dancing Bears" restaurant. The menu was not as extensive as I expected, and the service was slow. I finished a drink and my water and still waited about 10 minutes to get a refill. The meals were very good, and portion sizes were large. One of the big advantages is that it is located right at the beginning of the main street in Lake Placid. Easy access to shopping and other restaurants. We will go back here again

Amazing placement. The rooms are comfortable and clean and they also have a cozy feeling to them. We loved our stay and will be returning when we're in town again.Walkability: Main street access close to all the shops and a few minutes of walking away from the sports complex.Food & drinks: The dancing bear is the connected restaurant, and the food looked delicious. I'll be honest we didn't have any as we wanted to try local but the place was packed every meal so I don't really have doubts that the food is good.Something cute they did was also to offer complimentary bubbles as we checked-in which was a welcomed little surprise.

Came here on a little anniversary getaway and wow, we were stunned. Got this hotel at a steal of a price on a third party booking app and it was more than worth it! Champagne when we arrived, a beautiful lobby with coffee in the morning/cookies and lemonade in the afternoons, and beautiful chess by the fire. The location was directly on the Main Street so everything was walkable! Multiple pools on property as well as direct water access at the continuation of the property across the street. Had no problems with noises in the hotel at night, and felt very safe where we were. We will definitely be back!Rooms: The rooms were beautiful!! Very spacious, updated decor, you felt like you were up north but it wasn t tacky or overdone. The couch was great to be able to kick back during the day without sitting with yucky street clothes on the bed. But above all, the porch was far and away the best thing!! Totally unexpected!! We had the most gorgeous view of the morning fog lifting off the water while people were swimming or rowing on the smooth as glass water. At sunset, we had burning reds and oranges.Nearby activities: Retail, coffee shops, restaurants, ice cream parlors, movie theater, sip and paint events, churches, you name it! Everything is there!Walkability: This hotel location is perfect! It s at the northern part of the Main Street so you have a great out and back route when going to see all the shops and restaurants lake placid has to offer! And only about a 3-5 min walk from the Olympic training center and museum
