The external and internal appearance of the hotel are very outdated photographs that are displayed on the hotel website and were taken many years ago. The ventilation is terrible in the room, the smell of mold, the rooms are dirty, namely: the curtains are stained, the windows themselves are dirty and there are dead flies lying on the window sills, the bed linen is stained and needs replacing for a long time, all the furniture that is in the room and hotel is very old and scratched, in It s scary to go into the bathroom, the wallpaper in the room is held on by nails and in some places there are none at all. The carpeting is all stained and very, very dirty. The hotel itself is completely unsanitary.Rooms: Very terrible rooms that need to be renovated and replaced with all the furniture.

There were dead cockroaches and hundreds of ladybugs in our rooms DO NOT STAY HERE sheets are stained, rats, Smells, halls were filthy, weird Egyptian decor, lots of roommates meaning ladybugs. Coaches had dead skincells, no spa and the place looks abandoned also the staff are nuts.

The hotel genuinely looked abandoned when pulling up to it the glass on the front door of the hotel was cracked they had weird Egyptian decor. The elevators barely worked. The rooms had no phone hooked up. there were no outlets open to charge your phone. and there was no breakfast literally stay anywhere else and he will be better off. One of the worst hotels I ve ever stayed at.

The hotel itself is beautiful and rustic, I would say 1970-syle. It is however under construction and not much staffing is in place. I will say the beds are comfortable and I slept well. However stains on the walls and the ceiling very "flaky" was a slight let down. I would give it a 6/10. I'm sure once the renovations are done the place will be amazing. They do have amenities such as pool tables, a pool and a jacuzzi (out of service)The pool tables were broken (one of them that is) regardless we played pool and had a blastThe pool itself I did not use however my friends didn't seem to have any complaints.Jacuzzi was out of service.Food was a letdown. But probably due to the staffing being low.Overall like I stated above it is a 6/10

I am writing this review out of deep concern for anyone visiting with severe allergies and asthma. The place is run down, dirty, and outdated. You can tell they tried to update it by hanging up strange Egyptian decorations. My boyfriend and I chose this place because it has a pool. When we got there we were told we weren t allowed to use it together at the same time. They pulled out a schedule of when women and men are allowed to use it. It is understandable that it is out of respect for religious groups in the hotel but this should be advertised on their website. We regret not reading the google reviews before booking. When we got to the room, the air was very stuffy- my chest started to hurt and I struggled to breathe. My boyfriend also felt sick. The bed was rock hard and the bed sheets were stiff. We asked for a king size bed and were given double full size. We ended up requesting a refund and left the property because we were just so let down and shocked by this location. Do not go to this hotel.

DO NOT BOOK INTO THIS HOTEL!!!! The photos are from six years ago and are severely outdated. It is not a current and true representation of where you will be staying. The outdoor pool and amenities are filthy and not well kept, clearly not cleaned daily or even monthly. The spa is an abandoned wasteland and is looked to be picked apart and looted. The gym is less than functional, and machines are at risk of hurting the user. The bedrooms are decent at best, however several mysterious brown and white stains cover multiple surfaces all over the room, indicating low maintenance which is a common theme throughout the entire hotel.

I would give zero stars if that was an option. My mother, a hard-working single mom, treated me and my wife for a holiday. The rooms are at least large enough , and carpets are stained. The maid service was good. Elevators for the Sabbath worked. The lobby has an Egyptian, 911 , pictures from the 1960s. Theme? The food was running out. The wait staff took some of the counselors, they're were so short staffed. The counlsers staff were great! The Maitre de David! yelling at females who were not supposed to waitress not cool and its not 1960 any longer where women have to tolerate that or anyone. They should have gone family styleThe food everything was from a jar or bucket. No doubt. At least they had soda. The tablecloths were wrinkled and scary. We watched a waiter a few times spill a plate iba a guest . Didn't even look back. This was not cheap. We heard mummors how little other guests were charged and my honest mother probably paid the most. Shame !The crowd were interesting some were scary as I think the rate was cut so low I don't know how they could afford when thet didn't work as we heard !The front end staff and the maintenance people seemed like family. They were actually really nice but totally unprofessional hanging in front at every turn smoking, drinking no uniform. I figured they are keeping the place alive..Very sad I walked around the hotel so many rooms full of debris. They did allow dogs! Which I had to pay for as we didn't want my dog to add stains to the stains already there. The TV did work as well.We were so fed up though we paid until Monday . We left Saturday night. I'd rather sleep where it's clean.FYI the dumpsters bears have made it their feeding area. So at night be careful if you have a dog.The only redeeming thing is the grounds are nice. And maintained.Seems the days of the Catskills hotels where actors and sports stars vacationed are long over.I usally write positive or no reviews but this place ripped off my mother who called and was willing to come for a weekend

this hotel was terrible. it was under construction during my stay, the food was disgusting. Majority of what they served was pork. Fresh towels were not brought up to my room. the elevator wouldn t come all the way up to the floor , you would literally have to take a big step down or else you would fall into the elevator. the couches were dirty in every part of the building. the lobby wasn t even set up, they set up the lobby when Jewish people were coming in for an event. it was a terrible experience & I want my money back!!!!

The hotel was very huge. Lots of amenities. We only stayed one night in the fall, so we didn't do much except swim indoors and play billiards. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were extremely comfortable; we had a two king bed suite. The designs and amenities was a bit run down but it looks like they're doing some renovations. Overall, it was quite comfortable and nice for the night we spent!

Beware. This resort caters to only the orthadox/hassidic community, which means everyone else must follow their religious customs. Men and women cannot use some of the facilities at the same time, which for most couples is a problem. No mention of this on their website. They also allow jewish bungalow groups to use the facilities, and it creates an unorderly disruptive environment. It is not friendly toward " goyem"(non jews) or non ultra orthadox . Pictures are old. The place is broken down, dirty and is totally misrepresented in the pictures on their website.

Over the summer, the hotel allows the local Orthodox Jewish bungalow community's summer camp program to use their tennis court and field for events and recreation. While I'm unsure about the legality of that collaboration, this usage involves blasting music from an amplifier, a person often screaming into a megaphone or amplifier while sports are being played, and the property sometimes sounding like a soccer stadium, with what sounds like hundreds of people yelling at the top of their lungs, sometimes until 2am. Occasionally there will be unannounced fireworks displays as well. This is also accompanied by workers from the camp using loud 4-wheel ATV's to drive back and forth from the hotel to the bungalow property. The noise pollution is not constant, but it is consistent enough to be wary of if you're trying to plan a calm place to stay.I'm not sure how this place remains in operation with the way they let the camp use their facilities, leaving broken folding chairs and trash all over the place on their property.

My group and I stayed here while we were in the area for a music festival. Accommodation availability was limited, and we only needed to stay for one night.Cons: We pulled up to the building and legitimately thought it was abandoned. Vines were covering an exterior building that had numerous windows opened. The tennis courts and exterior pool area looked to be in disrepair. The elevators were old but functional. When we arrived on the sixth floor, the room with the ice machine (and the first thing you see after getting off the elevator) was a disaster. Filled with trash and looked filthy, and a dusty book was inside the ice machine. Our room was lackluster. One bed was physically broken, and my friend nearly fell off it when sitting down. Everything was stained with what appeared to be water stains (Hopefully?). Floors, walls, the bed skirt, and even the lampshade. Everything. The beds were not comfortable. Pipes in the bathroom were leaking and very loud after every use. Feral cats living on premises near the entrance that you could smell when you walked to the entrance.Pros: The HVR was only 9 mins from the festival location at Arrow Wood Farms. The lobby looked to be recently renovated. The bathrooms were functional. Friendly staff members at the front desk. No signs of bugs in our room. The pictures online and the website can be very misleading. It appears they're working on renovations, and I hope that is the case.

Concerned how anyone could give this place 5 stars. Hotel smelt very musty. Water damage in our room. Our room smelt & had flies in it! Couldn t tell if it was mold or water damage on our ceiling. Elevators didn t work (we were on the 8th floor). Shower curtain stained and windows were very dirty. Hallways and carpets were disgusting. We couldn t even unload our luggage because cars were parked blocking the entrance (about 15 cars) which didn t move throughout our stay. The beds were very comfortable though. This place has a lot of potential but needs a lot of renovations. When we stayed the place was packed, not sure why they haven t updated the place yet.

We had a family get together over the weekend. I am leaving a review to set the record straight since I was very turned off by the reviews. Is it old? Yes. Is it falling apart? No. It is an old huge hotel and there are parts of the hotel that they don't upkeep. But, the areas that are rented out are well taken care of. Not fancy, but clean and comfortable. Are there rats? NO! Are there roaches/bugs? NO! Dirty rooms? NO! Does it smell? Yes, it does smell musty in some areas of the hotel. Especially the parts that are not used. They are not brand new hotel rooms, but the grounds are beautiful, the grass mowed, the pool looked after. We chose the HVR for its family friendly features and we were very happy with our choice.

To call this place a dump is being nice. The only positive thing I can say about the hotel is that the chocolate babka we had for dessert was amazing (clearly not made there). The bedrooms were dirty, and everything smelled. All of the carpets were stained and gross. When we got there, it had rained hard the past few days. There were leaks all over with buckets catching the water. I was afraid to sit on much of the furniture as they were so stained, I had no clue what was there. We saw mice all over! The food was just barely edible. The sad thing is that with the right work, this place could be great! I'm not even talking major renovations, although that would be good too. If they just took care of the hotel, it could be good. Clearly the owners just dont seem to care. If you are considering going here, don't!
