This is in response to Jason s review I just have to completely disagree with your opinion. Apparently, Thornbush was not what you were looking for, but please be honest it is not a trailer park !!!!! We all have campers that are all less than 10 years old. No one has porches or decks built onto their campers or sheds. And since there is none of those things, there are no dilapidated properties! Thornbush only has 46 sites and we are not cramped at all . not like other campgrounds. If you think we are cramped, check out Tall Pines near Sydney NY!Yes there is not a pool, a playground or even an arcade room. But that is the beauty of this park!!! It is clean, quiet and peaceful!!!!! That is what drew us to this campground for the last 7 years. And we drive a long way to be at this gorgeous place! Really sorry you didn t give it an honest try .. actually your loss!!!!!

Absolutely one of the nicest campgrounds we've ever been to! Great location with it being near Indian Lake and not too far from Blue Mountain and Long Lake, which are great little towns to visit. The sites have full hookups, and the owners take care to make sure you have what you need. Pet friendly too!

Beautiful campground, super nice people! It IS cash or check so be prepared. We had to leave early in the morning when we went home, so we had George estimate what our electric may be and left him enough cash to cover it since he wouldn't be opening the office until 8A.Each site is wooded with enough space and gorgeous. All sites are pull-throughs which makes it so much easier! Bathrooms are really nice. The campground is close to town but you can't hear any car traffic at night.

It's a trailer park, not a campground and not an RV Park, but a TRAILER PARK! We booked a week here and upon arrival, check-in, and seeing our site, we forfeited our deposit and left. We didn't want to spend our week-long vacation looking at rundown campers in a tight campground. The owner was polite enough upon check-in, but we should've known something was up when it was available on short notice and they didn't take credit cards. If you need one night for water and sewer, it would be fine. Otherwise, leave it for the long-term regular occupants and move on.

One word "George". George is the owner and treats everyone like family. We went up for the Indian Poker Run and fell in love with this place!! There are 4 lakes within the RV PARK...Abanakee, Adirondack, Long and Lewey lakes....a kayakers dream!! George thank you for your hospitality....we will be back soon!!

Wonderful place with great camp hosts. George was fantastic and helpful. Full hookups were very convenient and the campsite was well kept. I was originally worried that metered electric may make total cost of our stay on the high end but overall was very reasonable in the end even with using AC, electric water heater and electric refrigerator the entire weekend. I would highly recommend this campground to others.

Great find. Fully functional campground in the Adirondacks. None of the bells and whistles of the big family places but as someone without kids that suits me just fine. Super quiet, everything works great, surrounded by trees, etc the town down the street has a gas station and a couple of little modest restaurants. Didn t try them but there s no action to speak of in the immediate area.

A small campground, however, the RV spaces are suitable. George is an awesome proprietor. Beautiful fall foliage.

Thornbush campground is a nice peaceful park with all the amenities In a remote area. Going into the little town there are a couple of stores and restaurants there are also some little lakes right in that town where you can go on the water. Adirondack lake & Abanakee lake.

This is one of our two most favorite camping places in the Adirondacks. This place unbeatable for location and facilities, & price too. All pull through sites (about half are well shaded), all with full hook-ups. Campground is impeccably maintained, and now has a newly renovated bathhouse (1 shower/2 stalls/2 sinks for each, women's & men's baths), all very clean. Very pet friendly place too. Has a real personal, independent, non-commercial feel, & very reasonable rates. Owner & staff are great, very helpful if/when needed. This campground is top notch for us, our go-to place for camping in the Adirondacks. We do a lot of kayaking, and some hikiing & fishing. We've been around the Adirondacks a great deal. both private and state-owned campgrounds, and staying at a nice campground like this with full hook-ups at these rates is just unbeatable. With two big lakes 2-3 minutes from here (Abanakee, and Adirondack Lake) and many more lakes within 10-25 mins (Indian, Lewey, Thirteenth, Cedar River Flow,, Durant, Blue Mountain, Eagle, Long, and Eaton, among others), we don't bother traveling all the way to Rollins Pond/Saranac Lake Region for great kayaking & fishing any more, this is ground-zero for all of that now. You can even do a light hike to the confluence of Lake Abanakee & the Hudson River headwaters & time it with the dam release daily at 9:30 AM (beware the fast rising waters at the point!).Also, the town of Indian Lake has a few good shops & services as well, including very good NY pizza at Puterko's, a decent market for basic grocery food & deli at the One Stop, a laundromat, a one-screen movie theater, a library, a good BBQ joint, a couple of restaurants, a liquor store, and a very fun hardware & general store to get lost in.Yeah, this campground is home base for our Adirondack outdoor & camping trips now. We return here again and again for three years running though this is our first review. Our whole family highly & happily recommend.

A great campground hideaway. Lush woodsy setting, quiet and quaint. Located near Indian Lake, a nice place to camp and relax. I only rated 4 out of 5 cuz there s not tons of amenities, but if you can make your own joy, this place is for you!

The owners were great and helpful. Great wifi, beautiful location and pet friendly. It was true camping with fire pit and gorgeous scenery. Would be boring for kids as it had no rec room or pool but lakes everywhere around the area so if you planned you could find swimming. New sites still need a little work but the family is working hard to make things great. Wish them much success!

AT&T cellular signal was very good and fast enough to utilize for work. Equipment was Pepwave mobile router and Pepwave 42G antenna with download and upload speeds 10+ mbps. Park WiFi was ok and useable. Apparently, AT&T recently put in a tower.Location to Indian Lake was awesome. Price was reasonable. George and the rest of the staff were very friendly and do a great job keeping up with the facilities and grounds. The gift shop had a surprisingly decent amount of useful RV equipment.Looking forward to returning at some point.

Friendly, clean and beautiful location. George and his team have done a wonderful job. Close to Indian Lake and other attractions. Each campsite has a picnic table, fire pit, and grassy area. Of course electricity, water, and sewage are available. Dog friendly.

We absolutely loved this little RV park. George and his wife are so accommodating. The park is peaceful, pet friendly, and clean. We were in the new section with well-built stone pads and driveways. All pull- thru s and full hook ups. We were amazed at the $5 per cart load of firewood. If you prefer more trees and shade, ask for the older section. We highly recommend Thornbush.!

Very nice facility. Very quiet. We stayed a week and used it as a home base since it is centrally located in the Adirondacks. The price is very reasonable. They have a meter and charge separate for electric. We used less the $2a day, and it was fine. Very pleasant people, I would definitely return.

My wife and I stayed here in the fall of 2016. We loved the peace and quiet. It was basic and simple and just perfect. The owner, George, was friendly and helpful. Overall, a great place to stay, especially for adults looking for a pleasant camping experience.

My recent stay at Thornbush Acres was so nice and relaxing. The site has 46 camping sites and a bath house/bathrooms for campers. This was closed due to current COVID 19. The camp ground is quiet, each side has a picnic table and fire ring. Firewood is available for purchase. It was a treat to have George And his wife stop by in their golf cart while checking on campers. Very close to lots of hiking trails, lakes and beautiful scenery. Will definitely return.

Nice little park, very friendly people. Not too crowded, and not at all crowded during the week. Very quiet, mostly trees but some open spots. Free firewood and all the wild blueberries you can pick! You can't beat that. Just a mile south of the town of Indian Lake.

Delightful, friendly park with power and water at a fair price, we love it! The perfect place to stay in an overpriced area, you can visit everywhere else, then come here for a blissful evening in total comfort.

This is our first time camping at Thornbush Acres and won't be our last. Warm family atmosphere. Close to town for laundry and groceries or dinner out. My kind of camping. Thanks, George and Jeannie!

Managed by a curmudgeonly old dude. Doesn't accept credit cards. "Camp store" sells only tchotchkes, no water. Was sold out of firewood on the Tuesday we were there.
