After my car accident, I decided to get my car towed here since it wasvery close to where I was living and a relative had a previously goodexperience with A-1 several years ago. From the start, the owner-Brian, was manipulating and "preyed" on my situation. I was at A-1less than an hour after being in a car accident, were the airbags wentoff and I was still upset. During this initial meeting, he had me signpaperwork but did not give me a copy (nor would he later provide mewith copies when requested). He assured me that the car was an "easyfix" and could be ready within days. However, he started orderingparts and doing work on my car before it was assessed through myinsurance company. After the assessment he told me he "worked" withthe appraiser to ensure my car was a total loss so that I wouldreceive more money from them. He would then fix the car and we wouldbe all set. Brian failed to mention that once a far is a total loss,it changes the way it is insured and can make it difficult to sell.Brian never asked if I still had payments left (which I did) and whenhe found out, he began upset stating "if he had known" he would havenever gone this route and what not. His story about my car was alwayschanging it went from how he started work on it when he didn't and howhe made a deal with my insurance company to raise the amount of moneythe car was totaled for so it would be in my benefit.After discussing the accident with our insurance company, it wasagreed that the car needed to be taken out of the body shop, as he wasbecoming difficult to deal with. I attempted to get my belongings fromthe car one evening but after waiting 45+ minutes, his staff refusedmy request to see my car. The following day he told me "that wasn'ttrue" and continued to lie about where he was and what was going onwith my car. My insurance company had to pay him to release the carand is now bringing him to court in order to retrieve that money back.I do not recommend this auto shop to anyone due to their dishonesty and lack of professionalism.

Worst shop there is. My wifwife took her car in 4 yrs ago almost 5 now for repairs after an accident she had. Went to put new headlights in her car and then realized that the bumper was being held up by wire that hooked around the radiator support. And parts of the car were HOT GLUED back on. Paint peels off with an air hose. They charged insurance 6k and made $5500. Never recommend this shop to anyone!!! I could have done a better job in my driveway!

unbelievably great. was supposed to be 9 total days of work, got in done in 8. great guys, great service and great results. its hard to find an honest mechanic or auto body shop anymore, but these guys are as honest as can be. just genuinely nice guys. if I'm ever involved in another accident, i know exactly where I'm going.

Omg! SCAMMERS! If I could give no star I would. They are crocked and their business practice is unethical. Same situation as other driver with car accident. Our car was towed and we were unable to get car back unless we paid fake fees they created against the insurance company and us. How are they allowed to stay in business ripping off customers?! Interestingly all the positive reviews were written by the staff from the shop (hint: John and Angelo etc) and their friends.

My car was in an accident in Garden City and the police insisted on taking the car to this shop. That was an immediate red flag. I Googled this shop and saw all of the terrible reviews so wanted to get the car to a GEICO authorized shop where I knew I would be treated fairly. Grand Autobody would not allow the GEICO appraiser to see the car and they told my sister she had to sign three authorizations to have it released. One of them was an authorization to have Grand do the work! I had to take a day off from work to get the car out and they charged us $450 for towing and holding it for three days. Be forewarned, do not use this business.

Horrible service, they had possession of my vehicle, when i called in to get a quote so i can send my tow truck driver with the right amount of cash, they refused to give me the amount. This resulted in more storage charges for them. When i kindly asked for a quote for the third time, the manager got on the phone and said "have a good day" and hung up the phone. Nightmare doing business with these guys. STAY AWAY!

Tilden Auto in a Mineola recommended these guys, and I've used them twice. The results were great. They are fast, reasonably priced, and couldn't be nicer. In an industry where almost no customers are in a good mood when they arrive, its refreshing to find guys who are as friendly, helpful, and actually good at what they do!

Amazing place. Brian, John and the rest of the staff are blessings. They did an amazing job making our car brand new again. My wife and I are thankful and Blessed. I would recommend Grand Auto Body to everyone. Thank you guys again.

Liars, scammers, and theives. I usually don t post reviews but This has been the worst expierence I have ever had. Single woman watch out, BRIAN THE OWNER will lie and steal from you every chance he gets. If that wasn t bad enough it took them three times as long as promised to do the work and when my car came back it looked like my 7 year old son spray painted it. If it was possible to give 0 stars I would. PLEASE WATCH OUT, DO NOT GIVE THIS SCAMMER YOUR MONEY

Brian promise you everything and gives you the family business speech until you say yes then he will overcharge insurance claims or request additional claims for his own convenience....Brian DOES NOT CARE about your car or customer satisfaction. DO NOT FIX YOUR CAR HERE.

Beware! Scammers! These guys are crooks. They will lie & take advantage of you. First and last time I m coming here. I would never recommend this place to anyone. They couldn t take my credit card cause the machine didn t work & they don t even have receipts.

BE FORWARNED ANY SHOP THAT HAS A MARBLE FIRE PLACE WHEN YOU WALK IN LIKE WALKING INTO A HOTEL OR FINE RESTAURANT CLEARLY DOES NOT GET THEIR BY BEING HONEST. AJ THE MANAGER WAS RUDE AND ABNOXIOUS WHEN WE WENT THEIR TO PICK UP OUR VEHICLE AFTER IT HAD BEEN IMPOUNDED. THEY STOLE MY AIRPODS THAT WERE LEFT IN THE VEHICLE. AJ THE MANAGER SAID IT WAS NOT HIS PROBLEM. HE CLEARLY HAS DISHONEST EMPLOYEES AND ALLOWS THIS BEHAVIOR. IF I COULD GIVE THEM A ZERO I WOULD

If you are in involve in an accident, GET YOUR CAR OUT OF A1 GRAND AUTO. I was hospilazed....did not know my car was there and i guess I made the worst d�cision of my life they didnt just ruin my car but they took almost 3 monts to not fix it. Doing legal action agaisnt Brian for fraud.

Great place to have work done, quality paint & bodywork. 98% of the negative reviews are due to they do impounds as well. Very good shop

Went here for some minor repairs. Excellent work, couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Hopefully won't ever have to, but would come here again of any other repairs need to be done.

The owner is rude and takes advantage on people who don't know nothing about cars and when confronted he gets mad. He is very unprofessional and he reuses broken parts on cars or aftermarket so please don't go to this shop !

The worst, they over charge for the days my car was there and charge me like a Commercial vehicle claiming " if you go to a car wash and have a SUV they charge you more" I said that's correct But I Don't have a commercial vehicle or Commercial Plates or Commercial registration I AM NOT A COMERCIAL VEHICLE, and they charge me double just like that, its worst then a scam

Don t go over there I got my car impound over they well Rob your money they over charge me 422$ for one week and they Destroy my car when they towed it and they they still the battery and they broke the driver side door and the glass I had to call the police on them don t go over there be aware

They charged a lot and they don't do the job well. Don't fix your car there. Definitely I don't recommend this body shop to anyone.
