Don t trust these crooks. Had a car with brake problems and dropped it off at their store and was waiting to hear the status of estimate of the repairs and how much. They didn t contact me at the number I gave them and had to call them multiple times. They had given an estimate of over $900 just to fix the back brakes which seemed excessive. When I declined to have the brakes fix their and rather find a different store they tried to lower the price to $700 when i went to retrieve my car. The alternate place I went to had it done for $500 and were very good and professional. Me and my family had been going to this place for years and have grown frustrated with how they seem to charge exorbitant amounts while having an attitude about us bringing in our vehicles. Avoid this place there are better alternatives!

People didn't seem so friendly. That's ok it's Long island. Typical New York. But they got the job done efficiently. Professionally. Price was reasonable. And most importantly, they pointed out I had bent rims that no other place ever mentioned. That's with 3 trips to Tesla, 2 trips to Mavis. I know those rims were bent because of 4 massive potholes I hit on Northern state parkway that blew out my low profile tires. Hence my previous trips to Tesla and Mavis. This is what I like about small businesses. an owner/operator that knows his stuff and runs a good shop. Chain stores too often hire under qualified people and it's gotten worse with this tight job market.

Family run business that provides knowledgeable and excellent service. Recently, Rich and Rich Jr. ran diagnostics on my car and spent time explaining what was causing the difficulty. They completely resolved the issue. I have been going to Great Bear for years as this is the only place I trust with the mechanics of my car. Their service has been reliable every time. I recommend them to everyone. This was my first experience with Great Bear and I really enjoyed it. They are super professional and honest. They did not try to push any unnecessary service or component, quite the contrary, I was told my rear braking pads were a little worn out, but could safely be used for one more month. Besides that the service was extremely fast, well done, and they have one of the best prices around.I am really pleased by this first experience. Richie and Dave definitely got themselves a returning customer.

What an utter joke of a business. When I asked them in person about how much the oil change it would be, they evaded my question and said that they'd have to check the car how much it'd take to do a synthetic oil change for 2021 MDX... Really? I just decided to wait for them to finish the oil change, and they charged me $96 for synthetic oil change. I asked them how this is the finalized price, and they told me that they had to completely change the oil and made up bunch of excuses why it had to be changed.There are plenty of other synthetic oil changes that charges $60-70 even with current inflation economic crisis. $96 is just another way to earn themselves extra money.It should really be called Con-Artist Auto Center if anything. I will never return to this place again.Service: Oil change

I have been using the shop for the past five years, they are pretty great. I was on top of all the work. They are very professional and on times. Got the appointment same day for a NYS inspection. Junior helped me out with a tire issue at no extra cost. Honest guys and quality work. Didn t try to rip me off like a lot of shops do. Seem like honest family run business until you learn the truth. Scammed my father and me, telling us we had bad water pumps and we did not. NOT RIGHT. My dad went there for a long time and trusted these men and they took advantage of him and me!!

I no longer dread going for car maintenance since I found Great Bear 4 years ago. Rich is good at describing the different options when facing repair, showing me the actual parts that need to be fixed, which puts me at ease. He also once fixed a dent I had in my front bumper at no charge, he just popped it back to its original shape, which was really nice and helpful. They also have a clean, spacious sitting area with free coffee, which is definitely nice when you have to wait.

Thus place is very good to bring your vehicle when you need some work done, inspection or oil change. The staff is very polite and patient. Very professional and a clean waiting room. Perfect for someone in need of an honest mechanic.

Great Bear in Huntington Station is the absolute best. I have always been treated with respect and honesty at this garage. They tell it like it is and give you options on how you would like to proceed. They aren't pushy or arrogant in the slightest. I am always concerned about unsavory garages but Richie and Dave are the real deal. They will always give you a call and let you know what your car needs. I would highly recommend this shop if you are in the huntington area.

My car broke down in a parking lot about 2.5 miles from their location, called up in the morning, dropped off the keys, and that was it, about 3 hours later Dave called to let me know my starter needed to be replaced. The cost incl. having to tow the vehicle was inline with what I was anticipating. They also let me know about a couple of other issues I needed to take care of, and since they already had the vehicle and had earned my trust, I had them take care of everything. I'll definitely be going back...

Be aware of false repair work. Mechanic brought out a bolt that does not belong to the car and claim the dipstick need replacement. Knowingly make a false or misleading statement about the need for parts, replacement or repair service is illegal yet this business practices it. If you come in with statement such as "check engine light is on", this is taken as an opportunity to do unwanted repairs. Make sure to know your cars well or get a second opinion. Not recommended. They are practicing Jiffy Lube methods...

Don't trust these people - just after your money, that's it! My mother had bought a used car and had some repairs needed. After one pricey repair led to another pricey repair - all paid in cash. Finally they falsely made it seem like the timing belt urgently needed to be replaced and by that time we really got suspicious! They totally took advantage of female naivety about used vehicles. We got a second opinion elsewhere for the timing belt - it did not need to be replaced at all !! Don't come here and waste your money. Totally dishonest!!!

Great people. Great work. Repaired my turbo charger and heater core hose same day. Was leaving for vacation next day and took me right in and had work done in a few hours. Able to go on vacation on time. Thanks guys

Service was top notch ! called and asked when I could be seen for my car problem and was told bring in it today. Rich was So professional called me and advised what the problem was and my car was ready by 5 pm ! I have told my friends GO TO GREAT BEAR for GREAT CARE !!!

The. Best. Mechanics. Dave and Rich and Jr. are so knowledgeable. Happy to explain everything. Will pick up. Drop off. Nice straight up guys. Not cheap but worth every penny.
